This is one such Home Hardware that you can clearly tell is well-managed well-maintained and well-staffed. They always have what I need and if they don't they're fast to get it for me or recommend where I can.

Atkinson Home Hardware has been my go-to hardware store since moving into the west end. The facility was incredibly well managed throughout the pandemic with helpful and friendly staff alongside rigorous safety provisions. Prices of many goods are marginally higher to the larger home improvement stores but well worth the extra attention to customer service and satisfaction.

I called at a busy time on a Monday morning and couldn't get through via phone so I sent an email through their portal. It was answered promptly and thoroughly by Mike Hill. When I went to pick up my items, the staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Safety Protocols were adhered to impeccably. I definitely recommend this well stocked location, way better than the Gananoque location.

Worst experience ever when doing a complete kitchen makeover. THEY messed up on the measurements and tried to blame it on us. When we told them where THEIR error was the tried spinning theirs wheels to think of how to turn it on us. Finally got it installed with the SAME measurements that we gave the in the first place. Sonia is the rudest and most unprofessional person I have ever encountered. So very glad this horrible experience is over and will NEVER darken that doorstep again!

I was shocked to read a review stating Sonia Atkinson was rude. I can't see that happening on her worst day; she represents the store and the Home Hardware Building Centres brand 100%. My first experience with Sonia included cleaning products; she could have told me to "go to aisle 3, it's on your right" and be done with me. Sonia walked me directly to the product I was looking for. A clean store, selection, decent prices but that moment Sonia introduced herself, listened to my needs and off we go made a lasting impression. One that keeps me coming back to Atkinson Home Hardware Building Centre (Kingston).

I went to Home Hardware because my mother was in need of a quick fix for her home and from what I thought I needed to do I was gratefully suggested another method which saved me a lot of time and effort. I want to thank the sales person who helped me because he was very polite and efficient which made the purchase that much more enjoyable. I forget his name but he has one of the greatest mullets I have seen! Thank-you mullet man and the team at Home Hardware!

First time being there during the corvid/lockdown time. Staff friendly and helpful. I went there to inquire about a rubber mallet and how much it cost. Staff member said she would get it and give the price. I decided to take it as it was not a bad price for $10.00. If you have not been there before, they have built a cover at the entrance and they go shopping for you and tell you the price ,if you say yes, they go back and ring it up and bring a portable debit machine for you to pay for the purchase.

My first time visiting this store. Everyone lined up with distance from each other. The front line customer service persons were behind a screen, while still allowing easy delivery of purchase. I think it's challenging for staff to find items with a large selection, but good option (in these times) for things you don't want to wait to get. Positive experience.

It started when I saw a cordless Lawn trimmer on your flyer. I ordered it, paid for it and it was for curbside pick up, this was May 14 2021, here we are June 1 2021, nothing, no new information. Whenever in the past before the covid I saw something in your flyer I could go with confidence to your home hardware store and they would have it. When I called this saturday it took me at least 30 minutes to talk to someone, I was not given any reliable information, with the exception , that they ( home hardware) had experienced a lot of complaints. When I ordered something from Canadian Tire, I was emailed to pick it up the next day, why can't you do the same ? When I ordered two tablets from Staples, they gave me a date and they actually delivered them earlier, they followed it up with a questioner, if we were happy and at the end , they mentioned, is there anything we could have done better? I said nothing, all was well. To summarize you must treat the customer well, if you don't they will go somewhere else. Sears was a great company, what brought it down was their poor customer service, Could we learn something from them? I phoned Home Hardware Monday . I was on hold for 1 Hour and 20 minutes, then I gave up.

Ordered product over the phone, went to pick it up and if course they couldn't find it, so doesn't an hour traveling specifically for this product and can home empty handed. I'm tired of flyers from Home Hardware, that shows offers that they cannot provide. I have been to the store first thing in the morning, the day the flyers come out and they still say that they are all sold out our never got any of the product in the flyer that I wanted. As much a I like supporting local business, I also believe that my time is valuable and I am almost guaranteed that what I want, isn't available. Others may have a different experience, but this is mine. Sorry....

We cancelled a planned project because we lacked faith in the contractor. This steam-rolled into the worst customer service experience in our living memory!! We never got a cent back from this business and we never got responses to our questions about the way this project unfolded. But, more importantly, no one said sorry. I will never ever give Atkinson Home Hardware my business again and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this business to my friends or my fellow veterans. If anyone has had a dissatisfying experience with Atkinson Home Hardware, I encourage you to make it known. I don't want anyone to experience what we went through.

Terrible experience and worst customer service ever. Ordered a generator that was on sale. Had to order online as store did not stock. Order was accepted. Money taken. 3 days later instead of getting an email stating order was ready for pick up get an email stating order is cancelled. No reason given. No phone calls. No rain check offered. Nothing. And 3 days after that still no return of the money. This is essentially stealing from customers. Called 1800 number. They state that product is available and cannot explain why the store would treat a customer this way but the customer will have to take it up at store level. I know I will never be a customer of home hardware again.

Placed a curbside order online on Apr 27. Order was cancelled by Home Hardware due to Covid safety on May 5th. Spoke to customer service on May 7 and they confirmed that they had cancelled the order and that my refund would be provided within 5 business days. Well today is May 28th 2021 and still no refund. I tried supporting a locally owned business. Have made all subsequent purchases at Canadian Tire that understands how to deliver great customer service in a timely manner.

To say we are devastated would be a understatement. We began our exciting adventure to build our forever home with Atkinson beaver custom homes in JANUARY 2021. Under the direction of the designers time frame to have plans complete and ground broke, we have sold our home and FIVE MONTHS later are still without the construction plans and unable to obtain any contractors this late in the year as ours has bailed as waiting five months is not obtainable for any company. We have already invested $4000. + towards custom home designs and are left empty handed and soon to be homeless... not to mention the $880,000.00 budget that was to be maintained, our build is being estimated at a whopping 2 MILLION DOLLARS.. only to be told they do not work with budgets, they do not give refunds, blames covid, (they were never closed down) and that "everything happens for a reason". They asked us what we thought was a fair refund and have since stop responding to all emails and phone calls. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Had a rain check for a sander that was on backorder since last August. Finally came in today. To their credit the problem was with the distribution centre being out of stock, but the parent company should support local stores better. Bonus is the local store has allowed a little portable cafe to open up on their lot. Very pleasant service, and made a delicious latte. She also makes sandwiches for lunch. Nice clean food truck with excellent selection of hot coffees and teas barista style. I hope it stays open all winter. Currently open to 3pm daily. I wish it was open until 7pm as I would grab a hot drink and snack before open mic where I play at Spearhead Brewery tap room on Friday evenings.

Yes, I know I can call in to ask prices, but if im lucky enough to get a person on the phone, there a good chance they will have to order it in after all the hassle
