I am very satisfied so far with the product and the service I have received. The price was better than a few of the bigger competitors and had a better warranty. We first worked with Driftwood 15 years ago, when it was just "Mr. Justin Philips" and JP replaced our gas fireplace with a wood burning "airtight" unit. More recently Driftwood replaced our entire furnace. We recommend Justin and Driftwood to anyone needing HVAC services. - even long distance. He (and by extention his team I guess) is smart, knowledgable, up-to-date (not everyone knows heat pumps for instance), honest, responsive and transparent. Who else responds to text messages on a Sunday morning? Who else will dispense expert advice - free! - even if he cant do the job (because it is out of his area for instance)? (Bonus: he's just a hoot to deal with and to talk to about even non-HVAC stuff.) Justin and Driftwood will suggest what you need and no more. And they'll suggest what makes sense for you, not what is most profitable for them. They tackle small jobs as enthusiastically as some of their mega home installs. When you find experts you trust, when you feel lucky to have their help, you stick with them and talk them up.

Justin met with us initially to go over what had to be done and what type of furnace was right for our home. He helped us figure out the best layout for the basement as we wanted to move the furnace and ended up making more space for us. AMAZING SERVICE AND EXTREMELY HELPFUL with diagnosing the problem with my hot water tank and also explaining to a layperson what was wrong and how they were going to fix it.... Mr. Phillips even came out himself, on a Sunday, to help speed up the process as I have severe health issues related to the cold and severe pain that at times can only be reduced with a hot bath. Also having young children keeping clean is not easy or in my case.... the dirtier the more fun.... Not so fun to bath in cold water lol. So when my hot water tank produced only cold water I became very panicked to say the least! Thank you so much for not "just" doing your "job" when I could be Squeezed in at your availability.... You INSTEAD took the time to understand my situation and without hesitation gave up your time and weekend to help my kids and I in our need! Showed up at the initial quote and day of work exactly when they said they would, took great care to keeping our cottage clean while working, very professional attitude / work ethic throughout. Did I mention they worked through a good rain? Kept everything dry as best they could when cutting roof... totally expected a cancellation due to rain (as other companies/work have done for me before) but they showed up with no complaints. While they were here, they could smell gas and investigated and found that it was my gas dryer and they immediately disconnected it as it had a leak. I was so thankful for that. They were excellent. Ive come to know Justin pretty well over the last few years. We both grew up in the area but due to a bit of an age gap never crossed paths till a decade or so ago. Since then he (or his staff) have done a few jobs for me. What I noticed instantly about him was he understands different people have different needs. Ive referred him to cottagers, friends, my own customers, and most importantly, family. Which is a big deal coming from me. I actually rarely make referrals, because you are putting your own name on the line to vouch for somebody else, with something you have no control over. I don't worry about that with Driftwood. Ive only heard good things back. Last summer during the peak of the craziness that was summer 2020, one of my good friends with a retail setting had an AC issue, and was getting nowhere phoning around. Literally laughed at by some. I knew Justin was as busy as everyone else, but reached out to him anyways. He had it quoted the same day, with installation as soon as the equipment arrived, and no follow ups. Why does this matter? Its seasonal here. A lot of small business's do 80% of their revenue from May till September, and this was one of them. He knows that. He grew up here. A lot of things about small business aren't taught in the classroom, and require real world experience to learn, usually "the hard way". For a guy who isn't even 40 yet, he has done very, very well in this regard. I always enjoy a chat with him. A person who can make me laugh, learn, and think all in a span of five minutes is a rare find. Another thing that impresses me is all costs are up front, itemized, explained (in technical or layman, he will know which language to use) and he has never once gone over the quote given. I hear horror stories all the time from people about teaser quotes and then "oh well, we had to replace your geofortitude transducer assembly that's another two grand"; or my least favorite, just picking a number and then working backwards to justify it. Ive had experience with both of these kinds of people, and they won't make it in todays hyper competitive, connected world. Driftwood will do just fine.

Every time I call Driftwood, they take care of me in a timely and efficient manner. I have them service my furnace annually because I trust their workmanship and word. This summer, in the dead of the heat wave, my AC unit died, and Driftwood did everything they could to try to get it back up and running. This tells you a little something in that you are not busy unless you are good. The wait was worth it as Jason, one of the employees showed up and did a thorough servicing on the furnace. Thus, here is the rest of the story. After he read my honest review he contacted me and wanted to make things right by performing a service on my pellet stove for FREE. But my pellet stove is in great working condition, and so, he service a single mom's pellet stove, for FREE which hasn't been working for a year. The single mom and her three children will now be enjoying warmth this Christmas season because Justin went beyond the call of duty. I am a cottage owner and hired a company installed a new AC unit a couple of year ago but right after installation found unit not working properly and could not produce proper cooling air. The installer went twice but could not solve then not return my call anymore. I have to call other two companies in the area in last year but after their services, it still did not run properly. this year even no more cooling air. I was so frustrated and was planning to install a new unit. When try to find out who could be the better installer locally, I found out this Driftwood company rated all 5 stars on all customer's reviews. so I decide to try calling them to repair it first. hopefully, it will save money to avoid replacing with other new AC unit. They are really amazing and did a great professional job and found out the real issue and changed the way coil installation and expanded and repaired Duct and now it running great for a month now.
