Ron is a great sales man and am glad he was able to provide us with the ideal furnace for my home. The guys are amazing! The service guys just came out to fill our tanks today but I did not clear a path for them to get to the tanks. I'm new to the area and I didn't even think to clear a path since propane tanks being needed to be filled is be to me . The snow is thigh high and approx. 20 yards on either side of the house but they were very nice to fill our tanks anyway. Thank-you truck #1075 and the two men on our route on Jan 19/22 for your exemplary work that you do it is very much appreciated.

I have been in Bobcaygeon for about 6 months - The current people had British Empire as the supplier of propane. All that's good. But recently our "HIGH" tech furnace had a breakdown. I called the "smucks" who installed it for the builder as their name is all over it - You know those stickers for service call... Well I called - the first thing out of their mouths was - we don't service that area. So I called Lennox to see who does.. Shazam! The name the gave me was British Empire! Long story short... I told them over the phone exactly what was needed - They ordered it... and came the same day they got the part. Fixed it - the repair guy said - They will send you the bill (since I was an existing customer) - A week later I get a bill for "peanuts" - The $1700 part was WARRANTY and the labour was MUCH below than I was expecting! - You know - Its nice living where you don't get screwed all the time! My Hat is off top British Empire! Class Act Operation!

Installed two Mitsubishi A/S Heat Pumps and 4 heads. Great support and advice from Ron and Nancy, went out of their way to get me answers and technical info I requested. Installation with Eric and his crew was a pleasure. These guys worked late on the second day to give us A/C with one system and worked in the pouring rain to finish the job next day. Took care of a few extra issues I had. They went above and beyond expectations. Dedicated and extremely knowledgeable professionals all the way. Can't recommend them highly enough. Hugh and Mary.

British Empire Fuels' pricing is reasonable (much better than the competitor we were dealing with previously) and their customer service is top notch. They fill our tanks when needed and we have had no problems or complaints! Highly recommend.

British Empire has been really great! I needed heat and they were the only company that was able to get me propane in 4 days in December 2017. All other companys in the area said it would take 2 weeks to a month. Then my circuit board failed and they got me a new one right away. I also really appreciate Rob Whyte being so patient with me. British Empire Fuels cares about its customers! We have used BEF for years, for our home heating needs. Currently, we are in the process of rebuilding and have needed propane to keep our building schedule on track during the winter months. British Empire Fuels has been fantastic. Not only have they supplied the construction propane tanks, and added tanks as needed, but they have come to refill whenever we call. We have often called last minute, not knowing that we would be needing fuel in such a hurry. The entire office staff has been very accommodating and understanding. Thank you, British, you take good care of us, and you are certainly having a positive impact on our construction!

This is the fourth time we are out of propane, we have a 3 month old baby that had to be taken to grandparents because the house is freezing cold. I had to cancel work to try and get some space heaters to keep the pipes from freezing up which you won't cover under your fine print anyway! So I called other companies, but there's a $10,000 fine if they fill your tanks. How can you call yourself a business if you are too cheap to get the proper equipment to do the job? This is unacceptable!

Last week our tank less hot water heater started making loud noises and vibrations when the hot water taps were turned on. I called Climate Controllers and made an appointment for two days later. When the technician showed up, he removed the fan and discovered a dead mouse and a hoard of nuts inside the fan/blower cage. Easy fix he said, he went outside and dumped the dead mouse out, blew out the nuts and re-installed the fan into the unit. All in all, about 45 minutes start to finish. My problem started with the bill, $146.90, $85 for the service call plus $45 “adjust blower wheel” plus taxes of $16.90. When I asked “What adjustment?”, the tech said for cleaning out the fan/blower. I paid the tech for the bill, and after he left, I called the Climate Controllers' office to complain about the charges. Two business days later, they had talked to the tech and told me everything was billed correctly. I wasn't happy with that answer, asking what was the original $85 for, if not to cover such a simple fix? Apparently the $85 is just to show up on the call and the tech's “expertise” in diagnosing the problem, anything he did as a result was an extra charge. Again, I didn't like the answer and asked for my issue to go to a manager. When she called me two days later after I called again (over a week from my first call to them), she was in complete agreement of the charges and insisted that the charges would stay as is. Not agreeing with the charge, I informed her that I would take this to the media, my friends and neighbours, and she replied that I was free to do so, but to be warned as businesses are fighting back through the courts against such actions. She implied that she didn't care what I thought of the charges or their service, that is what they charged, and told me to do what ever I had to do. I took all that as a threat and an indifference to my plight, so here I am appealing here to the court of public opinion. My wife and I are semi-retired and an extra $45 (the charge for dumping out a dead mouse) would be a night out at a sit down dinner for us. This charge is egregious. To add insult to injury I would have been able to do this myself, but was led to believe that any work could be covered under warranty, which is why I had them come out in the first place. Obviously a dead mouse inside the fan is not covered, but I didn't know that at the time. My wife and I moved 18 months ago to Lindsay and have been very happy with all our interactions with the local businesses, many going above and beyond a few times. Most recently Pillsworth Service Centre fixing our spare tire (a quick plug) for no charge ($20 + taxes anywhere). Lindsay GMC for finding warranty left on my truck when I thought it had expired and replacing a vibrating drive shaft, no charge to me at all. Many, many other times we left with a smile from our local businesses, commenting how we're not in Toronto anymore! Climate Controllers charged me $45 to dump a dead mouse out! Buyer beware indeed!

I'm kind of disappointed with British Empire Fuels. Last year I ran out of propane. Came home with the smell of gas in my home. They did come to fill when I called. They said they would keep it topped up for me and told me it wasnt good to let it get that low. This year is a repeat. I phoned last nite and told them my one tank was at 20 and the other was at 15. They said that was good for 4 days. So I phoned in the morning and got the office and told her what the tank was reading. I asked If I would get some today and she said if not today it would be some time this week. Well I got home today and the one tank is almost empty and the other is at 15. So I called tonite and left a message about the readings and said I wanted it delivered tonite. So far no reply from them. I'm very disappointed and am going to look into business elsewhere. If they were going their job they would top it up regularly so this wouldn't happen.

In the midst of a Province wide lockdown due to COVID-19 your company replaced my broken water heater in less than 24 hours from the time it starting emptying itself . The fact that my water heater is electric made that an even bigger feat as you deal in gas heaters. Thank you Nancy and your team for your professionalism and very quick solution to my problem. Justin and his partner arrived wearing masks and had shoe covers as well. They were very friendly and quite fast . I will definitely recommend BEF to my friends and family.

Yesterday morning I woke up to no propane. My furnace was serviced in the fall and both of my tanks were left open after a pressure test was completed. I have always left a reserve of 10% in one tank to alow time for delivery of more propane. I prepaid yesterday morning for delivery and informed them of my situation. I call them back before closing and was informed that it wouldn't happen until possibly the next day. Contacted them again around 11:15am and was informed that it could take up to 7 business days before a truck gets here. And they said that I am to call when I'm at 30%. All I was getting was excuses, and that it was my fault. After I mentioned I was going to make a review on line, and before I could finish this review, a truck showed up. I'm a small business owner, and prefer to support local businesses but this experience was horrible.

we called yesterday to confirm appt for 1 oclock today for tech to come look at furnace issue. Appt was made in early December. At 2 oclock , still no show. We called, got put on hold after telling me they couldn't see the appointment on the calendar!! Then, said they are running behind and will call when they are to arrive. Sure would have been nice to get a call to tell us they were running behind!!!! Not impressed

We had to have our heat pump and furnace replaced (in a crawl space no less) & what a job for the installers ????. The deciding factor for us to go with BEF was the app provided through the new Lennox thermostat they installed, we can monitor and adjust from anywhere however, the fact that BEF will also get an ALERT should anything go awry, gave us added piece of mind & security which is particularly important to us, as we travel extensively. My husband met with the salesperson and was certainly impressed as was I with the installers, shout out to Trevor and Justin! Professional friendly and on time???????? BEF is the way to go!

Excellent job! Ron Williams and Erik had a huge undertaking at our place when they removed 2 electric furnaces and replaced them with a heat pump and gas furnace backup as well as moving a large portion of the basement ducting closer to the walls and making them wider but shorter to increase the headroom. We are very happy with the results and I love my new Lennox thermostat that I can change the temperature remotely. Ron's staff even filled out the warranty paperwork for us that was required to get our rebate and followed the process to ensure we received. They went above and beyond and we very much appreciate it. Ron was always quick to respond to inquiries even after our final payment which, honestly, is rare these days. I highly recommend this company!!! Ron was also very helpful in putting us in touch with someone who did interior concrete work and another who did spray insulation and especially Northern Homestead Kitchens (we'd been searching for a year for a quality kitchen installer). Thank you Ron!!

British Empire fuels is excellent at delivering invoices. They invoiced me for a delivery on Jan 6th 2016 for a delivery that never happened. It was only the fact that there was not foot prints in the snow that they got caught. On Jan 12th when they did may a delivery it was more than double any other usage. A good indication that the Jan 6th delivery was not the only missed delivery Problem solving has been exhausting. Instead of enjoying the cottage we are spending time trying to prove and confirm our fuel deliveries. I was advised not to use this company but the tank was on site so we decided to give them a try. Very poor after service and no resolution except to cancel their service

We have not had very good service with Brittish Empire fuels in the delivery of propane. We called for a tank refill, waited for one week and then called again, requesting propane. On another occasion, on the second call, we were told the guys were hunting and they couldn't send a truck for a few days. It's unfortunate, when you want to support your local business but the customer service is so poor. We will be looking for another service provider this summer.

Just purchased a Mitsubishi Mini-split Air conditioner/Heat Pump from British Empire Fuels in Bobcaygeon. Wanted to comment on what a fantastic company they are. The salesman Michael was terrific and took all our needs into consideration and offered the perfect solution for our home. The technician Erik (and assistant) were thoroughly professional and did an amazing job not only installing but by giving us a great tutorial on how to operate the A/C. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. I would certainly recommend British Empire Fuels.

Ordered fuel for the cottage on Monday January 21, 2019. By Friday, January 25th, no delivery. I am down to about an 1/8 of a tank and extremely worried that I would run out. Called the company emergency service and spoke to Kevin. He felt that the driver would be out on Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather. As of Sunday, late afternoon, no delivery, but Kevin stayed in constant touch with me although it was not really his responsibility. He volunteers to deliver 40 litres of fuel with portable jerry cans on his own to ease my concerns of running out. He was extremely accommodating and should be commended. Thanks Kevin for the great service.
