Had a instant water heater installed. They never put a proper plate over the exhaust pipe which was in my kitchen. Instead of putting the piece that I was supposed to get, They told me to put a paper plate over the cut out in my wall. The initial work I had was good but as time went on the company started charging for weird things like driving their vehicle to your house to do work, and the tech were rude. I had a issue with one of my water heaters not working they insisted I did not know the sound of it and it HAD to be working Turns out their tech turned the water line off and it was NOT working. I think I should have had better service after they did so much work for me no record of me? that's crazy. go look up 373 fortune drive. you will know who I am. or people can drive by my old house and look at the 2 rinnai pipes sticking out of the house from the back alley one will be on the west side of the house and the other will be on the south. but I don't live there anymore so I can't say what it looks like now.

The tech promised to order our furnace part on a Friday evening and get the work done the next Wednesday, but when it came to light that he forgot to order the part and we had to wait an extra day, there was no offer of a discount., not from the manager or the tech. All that we received was 2 heaters dropped off the day before. We are not happy and will not use this company again.

Was not happy with this service. When I first called in for a tech to come out and fix my boiler, I gave: Brand, model and the part that most likely needed to be repaired. The part was for sure the part that needed to be replaced and "lucky me" they "did not have the part". Tech had to go get the part that was needed and I was charged for the techs time to retrieve the part (I talked them down to 1/4 of the hour) but had to pay nevertheless. On top of that the tech did not properly replace the front cover causing the safety switch to break. They came and fixed it without charging labour but charged me to replace the switch. Overall this was a rough experience with the plumbers. I do not understand how Steve, the owner, was shocked when I said I no longer wanted the service because I did not want to be charged for their mistake. It was also not necessary or professional for the owner to cuss at me. Overall I was not happy with this service and would not recommend it to anyone.

Exorbitant - they charged 3 hours labour for a thermostat install. Lack of industry skill and knowledge - they sent out 2 technicians who had never worked with Ecobee connected to a rooftop HVAC unit; even their tech department didn't know what to do. All that said, the 2 technicians were very nice and eventually got the job done so 5 stars for those individuals' customer service. But I called the company after to ask the manager about getting a more reasonable bill and they said there is nothing they can do; it's just the cost of business.

Our furnace quit on the coldest day of the year (a Sunday) and within a few hours of calling, a technician (Cody) was in our house attempting to fix the furnace. Although he was unable to fix the problem due to access to parts at the time, he followed up the following day to make sure things were going ok and to update progress. Cody was very pleasant on the phone and in person. He was calm and helpful even though it was towards the end of a very, very long day for him. Thank you RapidCool for the help.

Had my old furnace replaced recently because it had leaked water under my new flooring. They accommodated my request to remove early one day so i could replace flooring before the install next day.Thru the install i was shown how they were improving to meet code that the previous one never met. The day after the install i had trouble with the new Wifi thermostat. They sent out techs to recalibrate it . When this failed they sent another tech out to replace with a new unit ( different brand)that runs perfect now. They live up to their motto of "What ever it takes " to satisfy a customer .

After spending $1600 for a fan replacement, it began making terrible sounds. I called to have it fixed under warrenty, and was told it would be 8 days before someone could come out. Unbelievable! I called someone else and had it repaired at my cost, but at least he came out much quicker.

$120 for a service tech to show up, not open the furnace at all and tell me he was sending a sales rep to sell me a new a/c unit. I don't mind paying a service call fee but if they don't even open the unit and I'm being charged $100 "labour" what a joke. Would not recommend. Go with a smaller independent operator instead, your wallet will thank you!

Called them for a crack in a drain pipe in 2014. It was in my laundry room below my kitchen and the cracked pipe was part of a drain from the kitchen. They said they would have to pull my kitchen counters, sink and other parts to fix the line which was below the ceiling. I wasn't willing to spend $1000's so they glued the crack and said that should hold it. Well it didn't and started leaking again so I called another company. They did the repairs in about 1 1/2 hours without removing anything. Works great and no more leak and didn't cause my kitchen to be pulled apart for days and cost about 10% of what Rapid wanted.

Just finished having Rapid Cool install 8 Air Conditioners and 4 Furnaces in our strata building. I can't say enough good things about Shaun and his crew of 8. They completed all the work in 3 days without any problems. I had provided them with what was required from the strata's position regarding main door access and clean-up after the fact. A look around the building within a half hour after they finished and you wouldn't know they had even been here. The timings were great considering all the air Conditioners had to lifted onto the roof by crane. The pricing was great on the units ( both AC and Furnaces) and the crew was very helpful, polite and caring about the disruption to our lives while the work went on. They were carful about the units they were in and used drop cloths in every suite to avoid damaging the flooring. All in all, a first class operation from start to finish!! Never use them again. Had them come fix a tenants furnace 4 times before he got it right. Charged the full amount each time. The tenant told me the furnace would not come back on. I complained. They said they would make it right but charged me anyway. Even had them reinstall a central conditioner. They said they would be back in summer to fine tune the adjustments but never showed. The furnace works now only because my wife argued with the technician that everytime he left it quit working. Not satisfied.

We used them for both furnace repairs and to replace our hot water tank and will never request their service again. With the furnace, we had them at the house repeatedly only to find out by another company they were using the wrong size voltage switch for our fan. We bought a new hot water tank that within a week was on the fritz, almost 18 months later and 100's of dollars, which we always paid, they finally did what I asked and now it works. When they swapped the tanks they put a tank in with a smaller fan so had to change out the pressure switch to compensate but that was only after I refused to pay their last bill without talking to a manager. The second it was working they were threatening collections!!!!! With our AC they came they saw, they switched out one part, charge 100's of dollars, it didn't work, they came back, they saw again, they decided it was a warranty issue and charged 100's more lol. Apparently their incompetent labor isn't covered by warranty or guarantee. I just paid the bills to end the relationship. What a horrible, dismissive experience.

Worst service ever. I still have not heard a word since November 30, 2015. I phoned to inquire about the on site service call and equipment they were looking into for me and was told they would get back to me. Guess what?......not one word yet! Today's date is January 4,2016. I work with one of the biggest Canadian owned organizations. What a poor reflection of our business community in Kamloops!

I have been a customer of Rapid Cool for 3 years now and will continue to do so in the coming years. My personal experience with Rapid Cool has shown me that their team are honest, professional and very prompt. In particular I must note that Calistus is a fantastic representation of this approach, he is our go to GeoThermal Tech. From the moment he arrives to the moment he leaves he is a consummate professional. The last time he came to perform a pretty serious repair on my unit, it was raining very hard, in turn he requested access to my lower door to not make a mess (he NEVER makes a mess but was being extra careful this time). He was totally prepared with canvas drop cloths to ensure my house was left as pristine as it was when he arrived (one side of my house gets quite muddy in the rain). Im not talking a couple of cloths either, the distance from my back door to the mechanical room is quite far. Other than his signature on the Rapid Cool service sticker on the side of my GeoThermal Unit you would never know he had been there. EXCELLENT! Calistus's explanations, willingness to share information and overall professionalism is second to none and my 4 year old daughter who greets him at the door every time he visits thinks he is awesome! "He is a nice man daddy...". What more does anyone need to know?

Best plumbing place in town. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and above all, *high integrity*. Long story ahead :) When I moved to Kamloops I had been considering a potential career change into the trades. I stopped by multiple places to chat. Just about every place hardly gave me the time of day. The exception? Steve Warner. As the owner of RC he's clearly a very busy guy, but he invited me into his office and we had a long conversation. He was clear that he couldn't promise me anything, but told me "here's what you need to know, what to think about, and what could happen in the future", etc. I ended up not proceeding with a career change (realized I just needed a sabbatical from what I had been doing) and stayed in the line of work I had always done. But from that first encounter, I knew Steve was a man of integrity. He didn't need or want anything from me, and I wasn't coming in with any business for him. He could've turned me away just like all the others. But he didn't. I was just some nobody to him -- but he treated me with respect. Because of that first encounter, I knew then that RapidCool would be the only place I'd ever consider hiring for any plumbing. And it's the only place I recommend to friends/colleagues. It took a while for me to need a plumber -- maybe a couple years after that first meeting? I didn't phone, I walked in so that I could say hello to Steve again (and to my surprise, he remembered me). The first couple times I needed a plumber it was for relatively small jobs -- one small repair, and another was a small renovation. Completely happy with both those initial jobs. When it comes to small things like that, at the end of the day all I really care about is that the tradesperson is knowledgeable. Even if a tradesperson is a grouch, I don't *really* care -- my attitude has always been, just fix my house and do it properly and I'll be happy. So first and foremost, they check that box. But again, beyond knowledge, every representative has been professional and friendly. So, I kept on hiring RapidCool. I've always been happy -- but I've never been inspired to write a review until my latest encounter. The house we live in has a *beautiful*, custom-made, high-end, master bathroom since the previous owner. There were a couple small issues (hose in the Roman tub had sprung a leak; drip from the rain head shower; standard small stuff given the age of the bathroom) that had developed and that I wanted repaired, so I contacted RapidCool and they sent out a representative to fix them. Same as always: knowledgable, professional and friendly. But *this time*, an issue popped up. Unforeseen difficulties related to the components and plumbing hardware in the wall; stuff related to the high-end nature of the bathroom, that plumbers just don't come across very often. They walked me through the issue and offered some potential options as solutions. We chose one together that we thought would work ... and it still didn't completely solve the problem. Now, by this stage, I was getting worried: in my mind I was thinking "How the heck did a little leak turn into such an issue?!? What the heck am I going to do?!? I'm not a plumber! Is this beautiful high-end bathroom at risk of getting torn apart all because of a stupid leak?!?!?". *THIS* is why you hire RC though. There *was* no need for me to worry. The issue has now been solved. Why? Because beyond the other traits, they have *integrity*. The only way an entire company can have it is if starts at the top. I already knew Steve had it, but as a homeowner starting to stress, this is when it really mattered. Another company could have thrown up their hands, or given me the run-around, or found some way to milk me for a bunch of money. At THAT point of me stressing, RC wasn’t my “plumber” … they were my “problem solver”. I’m relatively confident that any ol' plumber can do the simple fixes. But what are you going to do when the simple fix unexpectedly turns into something more? My advice: cut out the middle man and go to the best from the beginning.

I’m writing to say a big thank you to your company and in particular your technician Dan. Our a/c quit last night and we had visions of facing a heat wave here in Kamloops with no a/c. Panicking, I called your emergency line this morning at 8:00 a.m.(Sunday). Dan arrived within 45 minutes and had our unit repaired in about 1/2 hour. He was so pleasant, explained exactly what was wrong, offered suggestions about maintenance of all our heating and cooling appliances, and pointed out the rebate program offered by Fortis. The whole experience was handled in a courteous and efficient manner.

Amazing service! Rapid Cool installed an AC unit this past July (which was even more amazing in hindsight because it kept our home clear of the smoke from all the fires this summer). They were quick, knowledagable and helpful. This last weekend our thermostat shut down (not purchased from rapid cool) and then simultaneously ran a.c. and heat at the same time to make our house a cool 30 degrees. But someone was here in minutes and we had a solution very quickly. Thanks again!

Well due to my own stupidity, I did not know how to properly light my hot water tank. Apparently this takes less than a minute to do. My next stupid thing I did was call these guys. That one minute cost me $113.40. I'm not expecting to pay nothing but that's bad business. When I do replace my tank, and eventually I will. It will not be with you. Everyone I know will be told not to as well. Call rapid cool because their time is worth more than yours.

Upon arriving, Russ was upset that one of the other Contractors had broken some of the ac lines. He was obliviously upset that this was going to create much more work than anticipated. Understandable, however, a calmer demeanour would be expected with concerns focusing on the customers added costs and the damage to their house. Russ did do a great job and we are back up and running.

Management issues. Had Rapid Cool install new water heater. Nice people but their technicians lack experience or knowledge. They had 2 of their people through to quote additional work and they wanted to send a third. Nobody’s got time for that.

I would like to comment on the service that we had with Rapid Cool when they came to service our furnace. Steve was the service person who came and he was very professional and friendly. He did a very thorough job on servicing our furnace and found an incorrect setting on it that many service people before him never found. Our residence is in a Bareland Strata complex in Westsyde Kamloops. We have just moved in and our older furnace quit and could not be revived. A call to Rapid Cool resulted in a speedy visit to our home and a same day, very reasonable quote for replacement of our furnace and very old air conditioner. We were given priority because we were without heat during the cold season and our furnace and air conditioner were installed over a two day period. The installers were extremely polite and efficient and made every effort to keep any mess at a minimum with inside and outside left spotless after their cleanup. Time was taken to show and explain their work at the end of the install and time was taken to repair work done by a different company that was not up to code (Water Heater). We definitely recommend Rapid Cool if you need heating or cooling service. We would not think of calling anyone else!

I own a condo in Kamloops, currently occupied by family members. When it came time to ditch the furnace and install a heat pump, everything had to be done from a distance. Thank goodness for Simon, who carefully explained each step - sometimes more than once - until I was fully informed and ready to go ahead. And the family? Thrilled! Their comment about the installers: "They were just wonderful boys!" Thus far I've only seen pictures, but even so, it is possible to tell how beautiful it all looks. And to know they will be warm and cozy this winter .... priceless
