Our AC unit said it's final goodbyes last week at the beginning of the heatwave right before a long weekend. I called multiple companies first thing the next morning to try and get someone to come have a look at it. Most said 7-10 days before they could even look at the unit. Others offered possible times depending on bigger jobs and how they went. I was resigned to the fact that we were going to have wait when I called Halliday. Peggy was awesome and said she would get someone out to us the next afternoon. Al arrived when Peggy said he would, he was quick and efficient and was upfront and honest about options and costs and called the next day to confirm our decision to replace the whole unit rather than just the part that quit. I paid the deposit and was given a date for completion. Al explained the process and I arranged to have someone home for the 2 appts it would take to complete the work as they fit us in around other jobs. The unit arrived on time and was installed exactly as they said it would be without incident for the price quoted. It was so nice to have home repairs done by someone who seemed to care and had an understanding that it was important to us that the work get done as quickly as possible. I recommend their services completely to anyone looking for reliable, honest, locally owned service and repair. I look forward to doing business with Al and his team again in the future.

Call Halliday Refrigeration for second opinion within 15 minutes had furnace up and running like new. The other company must have sent a salesman rather than a service man. Beware of the $12.50 "truck charge." I booked a call and they showed up and replaced a contactor ($60) and entire invoice came up to $175 for about 45 minutes of work. The guy I called explained the charge and then graciously cancelled the truck charge because the charge wasn't explained prior to issuing the invoice. Their work was otherwise professional and complete. Removing one star for the truck surcharge.

Excellent experience!! I could not be more pleased with my experience with Al at Halliday Refrigeration!! In the middle of a heat wave, our A/C stopped working. When other companies were booking 7 days later, Al was able to diagnose the issue within a couple of hours and have it fixed by that afternoon!! Would 100% recommend his services.. very quick, affordable, personable customer service!

They showed up over 20 minutes late. Then when asked to not wear his work boots in the house, he did and tracked dirt and leaves all throughout the place. He left the patio door open the whole time and let a bunch of bugs in. And when asked if he could wear a mask, as its a pandemic, he said no he didnt have one quite rudely. Overall a terrible experience, and he was very inconsiderate.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this company. I called Halliday Refrigeration for a furnace repair issue and clearly described the symptoms before Al arrived and again once he got here. Those symptoms pointed very clearly to a potential thermostat issue. What should have been a $200 job ( $75 thermostat and $120 labour and truck charge) became once costing over $650. Al seemed to come with a pre-determined solution in mind and it seemed that his diagnostic and problem solving skills were limited. He replaced one component that was working perfectly well (but appeared not to be working because of a thermostat signal problem) and spent 3 hours doing work that was not required had he checked the thermostat first. I don't dispute that he spent the stated time on the job, just that all the time was not necessary, nor was the replacement of a $150 part that was working before his intervention. I should note that I did speak with Al after the job and before posting this review, but he was unwilling to make things right.

We returned to a very warm house. Contacted our usual service shop. Maybe in 2 weeks for an appointment. Called Halliday and left a message. Al called the same day, July 1. July 2nd, he was at my home at 8:15 am. Wow. The service was exceptional. I highly recommend this company.
