Very unprofessional, does not return phone calls, sloppy work and contractors that do not know simple tasks such as packing your belongings and putting them in a storage pod. Unnecessary removal of property, we felt like it was more like they were gouging the insurance company for more $$$. I do not recommend using this company. Do your research before you dive in.

DO NOT USE WINMAR! I was in need of professional help after fire. Winmar employees admitted it was their first day & didn't know what to do. After 8 hours of people with little squirt bottles making all sorts of little circles on my wall and not even cleaning a whole wall I said "No More." Charged my credit card over $4000. Not professional at all. Big Rip off. No refunds yet. Told me they were "Skilled Remediation Technicians", it was there first day. No skill there. Equipment charges too high. $250 scaffolding + $200 Delivery. You can rent by yourself for $60. Invoice even has words PROFIT = $250 and then charge tax on profit too.

Terrible experience- Took them 6 weeks to get the work done that should have been done in 2 weeks. Our primary bathroom was out of commission this entire time. They told the subcontractor a budget of 1/3 what our insurance company approved for the work. Very dishonest and unapologetic.

Did a job for winmar guelph over 6 months ago. Client was extremely happy. We had written approval and have still not been payed. The owner does not return calls and is very unprofessional. There staff turnover is unbelievable. Everytime you call the last person you spoke to is no longer with the company. Deal with winmar in cambridge or KW and you will not have these issues. We have done lots of work for those in the past. As you can see below the unprofessional owner continues to lie and not pay us. The client has since done more work with us and is very pleased with our work. She also is still very disappointed with winmars lack of care, workmanship and how long the work took. I will add a further testimonial.Also the company name is Grahams and son interiors!

We hired Winmar to repair a foundation leak at the side of our house. The project was started and then halted because Winmar had underestimated the difficulty of the work required. After a few hours the crew was ordered to stop further work and left the site for the weekend. Since we were not presented with an acceptable solution to complete the repairs on the following Monday and time became a critical factor, we finished the work ourselves. We requested and received a full refund of our initial deposit. Overall a very disappointing experience. We would not recommend this company.

Haven't used the company but one of their trucks white Gmc Sierra was driving down wellington 32 on sunday May 5th at 5:20pm. Was going well over a 120 passing on a hill with double yellow lines, was driving like an absolute moron and then further down the road did the same with on coming traffic, could have caused a serious accident. Won't use the company after seeing that.

I was very impressed by the evaluation of the work needing to be done and by the team's professional, friendly and courteous manner. I would not recommend Winmar - Guelph for a large variety of reasons. Brad MacDonald, the estimator, was frustratingly difficult to deal with due to multiple failures to contact me when he said he would, failure to provide complete documents/estimates, failure or inability to produce a CRA-approved invoice that reflected the entire business-consumer exchange, and failure to negotiate in good-faith when the original estimate did not reflect the actual work done. The estimate provided was excessive in cost, with "minimum charges" throughout the document regardless of the size and complexity of the repair which was small and minor (repair of drywall due to water damage). Brad's preference was that my tenant (my elderly mother) be absent from the condo during the repairs but I was not able to facilitate that so both my elderly mother and myself were present during the repairs which permitted me to see first-hand what was and was not completed. If I had not been there during the repairs, I would have paid the entire estimate but thankfully I was able to be a witness to the activities that occurred. I can only describe Brad's efforts at revising the invoice as inadequate and unprofessional, not reflecting a reasonable revision in any way based on the job actually performed. This is not the way a business that wants to satisfy their customers would behave. I was forced to retain a law firm for advice and direction on how to handle all of the issues with my interactions with Brad. I've also noticed in the Google reviews that Winmar has a reputation of not paying their subcontractors and threatening legal action when they complain in public on this forum. I certainly hope that they paid the subcontractor that performed my repairs as I was entirely satisfied with the final result and the tasks that were not completed were not necessary for the minor repair involved. I will be continuing to get advice from my law firm and will be also approaching CRA regarding the lack of a CRA-approved invoice and the potential that they have not paid their subcontractors. I also wonder if their behaviour regarding charging for services that are not performed and not paying their subcontractors will be seen with insurance-approved repairs by the CRA when they do their multi-year audit......The bottom line is - stay away from Winmar - Guelph.

We had a flood in our home and within 30 minutes WINMAR was in our home and they worked and worked over five hours sucking up the water and putting in heater fans making our home safe for the night. They were at our home daily until our home restored back for us. Great workers and great people…..would recommend them to everyone!

We had a major flood in our multi unit residential building in Guelph. The catastrophic damage was not covered by insurance. WinMar and more specifically Brad McDonald was there for us every step of the way. Once it was determined that insurance was not covering us, Brad moved quickly to give us a quote for tear out and restoration services. He explained everything to us as we worked through the process of tear out, mold testing and rebuilding. The workers went above and beyond. They are very friendly, courteous and they definitely know what they are doing. They cleaned up every night before they left. The whole project came in on budget and on time which was important as the tenants in two units were affected. I would highly recommend WinMar for any construction needs.

It was a VERY distressing day when it became apparent water was leaking onto my plaster ceiling in the family room. However, we found and stopped the source of the leak and then my insurance broker set me up with Winmar in Guelph. They arrived very quickly and set up dehumidifiers and fans to get the situation under control. The members of the Winmar team were all very knowledgeable, helpful, responsive, careful, and caring -- a combination that kept me calm and positive. Happily, the ceiling was saved!

I had a leak coming from the garage roof. Three companies came to inspect, but only Winmar was able to explain the cause, and to explain how their repairs were going to solve the problem. The trades that came to my house took the time to discuss what repair work they were doing, how long it would take that day, and next steps. The entire repair process took longer than expected, but I realize that Winmar does respond to disaster situations like house fires, water leaks, and windstorms. Thank you Winmar.

We had water damage in Sept 2018. They came in guns a blazing. Dried up the place. They left. October came and went. We gave them a deposit inNovember. December. Came never heard a thing. January came they promised us 2wks they will be done. They brought in 2 kids who had no idea what they were doing. Finaly they hired to experienced old men and they got the ball rolling. So here we are in March. They sent us our final invoice. There is stuff on there for things we didnt use. A dumpster for 358$ never used. Drywall removal in garage never did it. Removal of washer dryer and hose removal. Nothing like that was done. In fact they broke or dryer vent and I told them numerous times. We ended buying our own. They installed a 2000 $ floor. The floor in uneven. Nobody seems to care. This is the work experience we have had ever. Nobody go with them. We spent over 7 thousand dollars and probably got 1000 worth of work

I have used Winmar Guelph services both personally and for business. In all my dealings with them, I have had nothing but positive experiences. After a week vacation I returned home to find a burst pipe. The Winmar staff was onsite with all necessary equipment within 30 minutes. They were diligent in explaining their process and what it would take to remedy the situation. I was very happy with the service, the process, the price for our clean-up, and the outcome. Winmar Guelph has also provided exceptional service with various business related properties. In one instance, we were having problems with a leaking foundation. Unfortunately at that time I didn't know Winmar Guelph repaired foundations. Our first contractor botched the job and walked off site. After learning about Winmar's full service line-up, we contacted them to fix our foundation. Again, Winmar provided exceptional, competitive, professional service. The foundation 'fix' turned into a substantial project. We ended up re-pouring a new foundation, installing a brand new weeping tile system, multiple pumps and extensive waterproofing. Again, everything worked out and we haven't had a problem since.

Winmar Guelph was dispatched recently to deal with the "rain event" in Windsor, ON. My insurance company had contacted them to come. My experience with them was nothing like the previous reviews. My estimator was Paul Sparks. He came to my home at 8:45 pm after an already long day. He was professional, polite and answered all my questions. He was available throughout the entire "tear out" process to answer my questions and would check in periodically to ensure that things were getting done. The team that did the physical tear out were wonderful. This team was led by yet another Paul. He too was professional and was respectful of my home and ensured that the labourers that were hired locally to help were as well. He explained what each step was that they were doing and gave me estimates of when they would be back for the next phase. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
