Instead of moving into a seniors’ home my parents - aged 88 and 91 - decided to buy a townhouse. The townhouse required modifications to make it ergonomic and safe. This project required installing handrailing and grab-bars. It required reconfiguring cupboards and shelves to make them accessible for people with reduced mobility. The project called for additional lighting and outlets for portable air-conditioning. When we could not provide enough definition, Alex and Bruce could take just a concept and create a outcome that exceeded our expectations. When problems arose, as they usually do in renovations, Alex and Bruce came up with practical solutions. All their work is to a high standard of workmanship and appearance. I would also like to say that projects in families involve some delicate decisions. Alex and Bruce are adept at dealing with the sensitivities. The success of my parents’ relocation owes a great deal to the Highland Contracting Inc.’s quality job.

We had Alex come by and take a look at our basement which has flooded every year at least once when it rains heavily. We've been using a sump pump but it just doesn't keep up. We had seen outside perimeter drains added to other houses but didn't want to tear up the outside of our entire house, so Alex suggested doing an interior drain system. I have to give it to him and his crew, our crawl space isn't more than 4 feet tall at best and they were nothing but happy and smiling the entire time working in there cutting and bringing in wheel barrow load after load of drain rock. He kept us very informed throughout the entire process and needless to say our basement is nice and dry now even on the heaviest days ( or weeks ) of rain. Hats off to Alex and his crew at Highwest Contracting ! If you're looking for a trustworthy, honourable, and efficient company that does quality work....look no further.

We hired Alex from Highwest Contracting to replace a broken sliding glass door with a conventional 32" door. He arrived with all the supplies required, finished it quickly (good since it was an external door), and the finished product looked amazing and professional. Alex had to move some electrical, tie into existing siding, build a partial wall, hang the new door, and paint. We will use Alex again for our next project.
