Everything was perfectly transparent and handled expertly. Once complete it had set a little as expected and became to tight a squeeze for us to store what we needed to under it. We had our movers in on a Monday to move our furniture and things out of the house into a container. They had a bit of an accident which cracked the wooden bracket that holds the handrail going upstairs. John was contacted by one of the movers to see about repairing it and within a few hours John called me to see if he could help. He came by that evening, took the piece off and took it home assuring us that it would be fixed and reinstalled before we had to leave for our new home on the Thursday. True to his word, he brought the repaired piece back on Wednesday afternoon and reinstalled it. It looks as good as new!! John was extremely personable, kind and we appreciated how quickly he had the job fixed. He is a true craftsman who cares about the job he is doing and the people for whom he is working . I honestly cannot say enough good things about him. Thank you John for making a stressful time just a little less stressful!

John at Fresh Carpentry & Contracting was recommended to us when we were looking to have the wood trim that was rotting around our garage door upgraded to metal cladding & maintenance free. He sent out one of his contractors who did a great job, in a timely manner and left his work area spotless. We were so impressed we asked him for some help with a fairly big job repairing the mudding of basement walls prior to us painting. Once again he sent out two of his mudders who made repairs in four rooms in our basement. They did it in a timely manner, were very accommodating, did a professional job and we felt what he charged us was very reasonable. Very impressed with John and his company. We will definitely use him again and highly recommend him.

I reached out for a quote with a tentative idea, Jon supplied me with pictures of past work, suggestions and we worked together to finalize the work to be done. The quote was a little higher than I was expecting but the workmanship, detail and finished product were well worth the extra $$$.

We heard about Fresh Carpentry through a social media recommendation. We had previously been working with another contractor who was hired to install 3 new fiberglass doors. Unfortunately, this contractor damaged one of the doors while installing it and then left us hanging in the middle of the job, refusing to install our other doors. We were leaving for vacation two days after terminating the current contractor and needed this work done ASAP. I called John at Fresh Carpentry. After explaining our situation, and despite his very busy schedule, he came right over the next night, after a long work day and had a look at the scope of work required. He spent a lot of time in our home on that first visit, measuring and talking to us about the job. He explained in detail exactly what would be done to insure that the door installation was perfect. He was very understanding and empathetic to our current situation and was able to accommodate us at the last minute. From the moment I met John, I felt that he was honest, trustworthy and paid close attention to detail. We left for vacation and John installed the remaining two doors while we were away. I had no problem giving him access to our home while we were not there. He gave us a price on installing the doors and indicated the amount of time that it would take to complete the job. As it turned out, he ran into some problems with the installation, due to the settling etc. of our older home. John spent over 12 hours on the first day making sure that everything was perfect. He obviously did not plan on the job taking this long, however, he stuck firm to his quoted price. We were extremely happy with our doors and the quality of workmanship. We have a security system and had to order two new sensors for our new doors, which arrived after John had completed the install. Although this was not part of the initial quote, John came back to our home and installed the sensors for us and did not charge us. John was also able to come back to our home and reinstall the damaged door from the previous contractor. In the end, John charged us less than what we were quoted by the initial contractor and the quality of his work was far superior. I would highly recommend John and Fresh Carpentry. John is now doing some work for our son at his cabin and will soon be working with us to remodel our bathroom. You will be hard pressed to find a more dedicated, honest, hard-working contractor! John will go above and beyond to insure that his clients are happy and satisfied! Tammy
