John was very professional, got the job done, including coordinating a plumber to move the water heater out of the way of the heating system to do the work. Everything was done quickly, including triaging the situation late Friday night and getting the parts ready to go Saturday after lunch. I would hire again.

So far not impressed. $241.33 incl tax just to confirm what know is wrong with my mini split. Fan motor needs replacing. All this confirmed in under 10 mins. No part in stock, they need to order it and can't tell me how long it will take to get the part due to covid situation, which is understandable. But to say they service all brands and not stock parts seems counterintuitive. It's like asking a plumber to come fix a leak, only to say that he doesn't stock the parts to do the work. OK granted, a little more complex, but I think you understand the point. To top it off I had mentioned that it was the motor, but they didn't order it in case I was wrong so that the wouldn't have to pay a restocking fee. The part costs $50 on the mfg website... seriously...it has cost me more than this already. I would have happily paid this amount, to have saved precious time and money. I have asked for consideration for the amount payable when they do the repair, as to have no repair and pay this amount is unreasonable. For now 2 stars... and will update this review as the situation evolves. UPDATE: Just to provide an update after speaking with Christopher on the phone. He was honest about the availability of the parts. Unfortunately he cannot obtain the part for this model, and even had looked into other solutions for my unit, such as replacing the evaporator in order to save money and time, but this is problematic as well. Fortunately it is still working.... just making noise. I have upgraded this review to 5 stars, and they have agreed to make things right on their side where my case is concerned. For their honesty, and the efforts they made to try to come up with solutions to service the issue with my unit, I have upgraded them to 5 stars.

I am sorry to call JCD Refrigeration Inc and I never ask them for any service because of following: First of all , they charged me 229 $ for a simple visit, while they've already told me it costs me 150$ ( the inspector added an extra 49 $ for some extra equipment that he had brought with himself and were not used at all!) Second they didn't care about the right time for coming and visit. We asked them to come when my husband is available at home , but they just called us that inspector was on his way and arrives within 15 min!!! That was my first experience with JCD and I will share it with my friends : DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY

Called JCD as we are having and issue with our heat pump. Was put on hold three times. Asked a series of questions that i responded to but the person didn't seem to understand or listen to my responses. Eventually after explaining that the AC unit drain is clogged I was told sir, we I can't get involved in this and he hung up the phone. ? most bizarre call for service ever.

Misdiagnosed the thermostat which I refused to have changed since it could be easily be overridden to create a demand signal. First time using JCD... they came in and did some major furnace repair on and installed a new Humidifier. A slight issue with the Humidifier leaking (not really JCD's fault... more the fault of the plumber I used) but the owner Juliano was fantastic. He came himself to replace a part my plumber broke... free of charge! Much appreciated and will use JCD again for sure.

I would not recommend to a friend! 5 stars for terrible service. I had a damaged external AC wall support, so I called JCD (they installed it - but did not damage it) for a price of a new wall support. Dealt with Chris. Chris informed he would have to come see it as it could be installed beside the existing one. I was very clear, I only wanted a quote. Two days later, I get a call from wife as she was rushing out the door with our 8 month old, letting me know that some guys were looking at AC unit. I hadn't informed her that I was getting a quote. 10 minutes passed and I got a call off Anthony, telling me the job was done and it was at a cost of $481. I informed him that all I wanted was a quote, to which he replied - the job is done and we have to be paid. I told him to put back the old unit and leave. That too would cost money. So I had to leave work and go talk to these guys. On my way to my house, I call the JCD office and I speak with Mary (only professional individual I dealt with from JCD), she takes a message to pass on to a Julian who is the owner and if he doesn't call me, I should call back at five as he answers the phone then. I get to my house, and I'm told, as JCD installed it the first time they should install the second... Patience are well out the window at this stage... Chris arrives - bad to worse.. He gives it large and demands payment for the work done. Talk about fuel on a fire.. They re-install the old brace, don't secure the the ac unit to the brace and leave. As they were leaving I am telling them they didn't re-install it correctly. This took all of 3 1/2 minutes. So $481 for parts and labour is rip off even if I did want them to do the job. I call the office twice that evening and both times it rang out. I am now left in a worse position than when I called them originally for a quote. Absolute joke shop.. Rebuttal to JCD response October 5th. Your below response is complete fabrication. I never asked for the work to be carried out. I requested a price. The timber I installed will stand the test of time, it just doesn't look the part. Regarding my behaviour when informed that I had to pay $481, when all that was requested was a quote and followed by additional demand for payment to put back the old unit. They offered me no solutions, only demanded cash for work that was not agreed. I suggested the two options. I did not request they leave them there, I suggested it as one of two options, since I had to leave work to go and handle the situation where I was being demanded to pay for work I didn't request and the potential additional cost for putting back my original brackets. It's not even he cost, I couldn't care less about the $481 dollars, its the mindset and refusal to comprehend a mistake. The attitude, when JCD were in the wrong. Happy to see you have the recording of the conversation, it might be required if the AC unit, you "placed" on the mount falls. Pictures attached for before (with 4x4 - more than sufficient) and after JCD's arrival (screws to secure unit to bracket and no timber) Increased to five stars so it stays at the top.

The definition of amazing customer service! We had JCD install a complete HVAC system for our home-heat pump/furnace/humidifier/air exchanger, smart thermostat..etc. We ordered the optional heat pump snow protector, however when one of the guys opened the box, he pointed out to us that it had been slightly dinged during shipping..barely noticeable but still there if you looked for it. They called their boss, and he told them to take it back so they could return with a new one the following week. We insisted it was not necessary, as it was almost non-apparent, and we wanted it to be protected from the imminent snowfall. This morning I found a post-it on our front door saying to check the snow cap, and I saw they had installed a brand new one. Such a kind gesture but we appreciate you going above and beyond for us. The heat pump and furnace are both working incredibly as well. Thank you very much!

My family was not impressed on their professionalism. Maybe it was the wrong person and not the whole company but this is my review and impression on the employee who we spoke with. Our AC unit broke, during the most humid week, it was about 35 degrees so we had called this company, we spoke with Julian and he was not professional at all. We spoke for a brief moment and he spoke really fast as if he did not care about our situation. He spoke really quickly and said he would call back and hung up on me. We called back and asked him if he we can book and appointment and if it was possible to repair our AC and he asked a lot of questions, this time, he was taking his time to talk and ask proper questions. He spoke to my father and they agreed that he will send me a quote, he (Julian) told my father, that he will text me a quote. He never sent it, i waited until the next day but we didn't receive anything. So we called him back and he said "Thursday, i will come by on Thursday, before 5pm". That's not a problem, so we booked the appointment, finally, after running after him for 2 days. Thursday afternoon, Julien called and spoke to my mother, he's exact words were " I can pass by earlier, i have a space to come by before 3pm today instead of 5pm, please make sure you know where your 2nd unit is, or else I will have to charge you extra". Luckily, my mother knew where the 2nd unit was and told him. He sad "perfect! I will be there before 3pm, I will call when I arrive". It was about 5pm and my mother called me at work, telling me if Julien called me, telling me if he would be late and I told her I did not receive any calls from him. My mother explained the situation to me when I got home, it was around 6:30pm and no call and no Julien. So, we called him and asked him if he was still coming and his exact words were " There is a misunderstanding, listen, I'm busy right now, I will call back" and hung up on me, I couldn't even get a word out, he spoke fast and hung up. He never called back and he never showed up, even though we had booked the appointment. Around 7:30pm, he called and left a voice message, which was very difficult tot understand. He spoke very quickly, that we did not understand what he was saying, the message was muffled and he spoke quickly. Very unprofessional and whishy, washy work. He didn't commit to the appointment and never followed up and wasn't professional at all. We always had to run after him, it was very frustrating. If I could I would give 0 stars. I wish you luck that you do not get this employee, that you speak with someone else and not this Julian person.

Great responsiveness. Very knowledgeable staff. They’re clearly pros at this. Maybe just my experience, but not very ‘clean’. Had to clean my house for an hour after the visit (staff t their dirty/muddy shoes on as he walked all around my apartment). Shoe covers would have been seriously appreciated. Also, it’s not cheap. I called in for a preemptive ‘check’ of my AC unit. Not offended by the bill, but it’s definitely more than I expected for an AC health check.

Placed service call on July 6th told me they would come the following day. Showed up same day. Diagnosed issue and had to order defective part. Wasn’t sure when they’d come back what with the pandemic causing overload and delays in the industry and having called 3 other big players on July 5th making promises to show up and not even having the common courtesy to call me back I found JCD Air and got the attention I needed. Having had Covid19 in December 2020 I have been stuck with breathlessness issues ever since so the heat wasn’t helpful. Wednesday July 7th I got a pleasant call that my parts had been received and they swiftly came by and fixed my AC in a breeze. Thank you so very much for your help. I will definitely keep your name for future reference and will not hesitate to refer you to my every growing bank of contacts.

Our old heat pump had to be replaced and JCD gave us an appointment quickly. It turned out that our furnace had been badly installed by Sears so the process became much more complicated due to a very messy wiring job. | am very satisfied with JCD's professional service and prompt response. During the project, JCD's solved lots of troubles of ours like completing project within one day by our time constrain; and offered the solution on the drainage problem of our house once they found it, etc. By the way, their suggestion - Lennox heating system - is very high quality one and works very efficiently. By comparing to my previous oil heating furnace, 35% heating cost reduced in the passing winter.

I was charged $229.84 for no service but asking me to turn off the heat pump to deice. And I was told at least another $229 to charge for the next visit after the pipe is clear of ice. If deiceing is the prerequisite for the technician to do any inspection, they should tell me to do it when I make an appointment and before sending the technician. Really disappointed for their service. So don’t forget to ask questions and the price before requesting the visit.

Amazing experience, so thankful for all their help. I found JCD online and e-mailed them to get an estimate to replace my mother's old heat pump. The salesman they sent was very courteous and knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the different types of units available and the installation process. They proposed a great solution for a new place to install the freon cables, which was much nicer, as the old ones ran along the entire back of the house. They were the only company to suggest this. During the installation the men were very friendly and helped us program her thermostat together, and showed us how to take care of the new heat pump. An excellent job from start to finish, she is thrilled with her new heat pump and how nicely it is installed!

I paid $225 for a Freon top up last year from a different company. these guys charged me 385 for the same pound and half of freon. tacked on a 50 dollar truck charge? I would shop around if I were you. I will certainly never use their service again. live and learn. (Update to response) Nonsense, I googled the prices for the freon from last year, they're virtually the same and I'm 22 min from your location not attawa. You charged 150 dollars plus tax for that, then a 50 + tax TRUCK charge. Whatever that means, do some guys show up on a bicycle? So really it's 200 + tax to show up. The entire visit was 20 min, that included the fill up and the visual "inspection" for a microscopic pinhole leak that could be anywhere in the system. You don't understand how your exorbitant pricing caused the bad review? nice not to worry about money I guess. Bottom line you're a lot more expensive than the other guys hence the bad review.

Wow, I can’t say enough about this company or its people. Waking up to a freezing home Tuesday morning with a dead furnace and recovering from a knee surgery… The day did not start off well but wow did this entire team of guys go to bat for me –From the first service technician to the compassionate and customer-first sales expert and later the installation team and their electrician. The new furnace I needed was arriving by truck next day, so they delivered space heaters to my house, enough to get by for night. Great service from these guys, saved my house from quite literally freezing on the first real cold snap of the year. I arrived home and my thermostat was showing 7C in the main floor, basement almost freezing. The fuse had jumped due to a faulty motor which they were able to obtain and change same day. Super impressed with the quick responsiveness and professional service.

Our heat pump and electric furnace were replaced today by JCD Refrigeration. I am extremely impressed with their professional service and kind attitude toward our family's situation. Without heating, they arrived around noon time, and promised they could install the entire system the next morning. I was quite shocked by this, but the next morning they started at 7:30 and worked without stop all day. Our old system was aging and we are very happy to have the new machines in place. They took great care of our home while they were working and the home feels very comfortable now. They are a team of hard working people who honoured their promise to us. I must congratulate this company on their professionalism and amazing customer service. My hot water radiator heating system gave out last night around 10PM. I called 2 local companies, both no answer. I tried JCD and somebody answered, by now it was 10:30PM. I explained to him my issue, and he informed me that I would need a plumber as this involved a water boiler. Instead of ending the call, he spent several minutes walking me through some basic checks to see if we could get the heat back on easily. After all the basics were OK, we concluded I would need to wait for a plumber. About 15 minutes later I received a phone call from a plumbing company. He told me he was just referred to me by somebody at JCD and if I still needed service, which I certainly did. Although I haven’t had a chance to see JCD’s work, this is definitely the type of company I’d like to deal with, as they really care about their customers.

We have had nothing but excellent service from JCD Refrigeration. We moved into a house in mid-December, and our (very old) furnace broke a week later on a Sunday night. After some googling for emergency furnace repair, I luckily called JCD Monday morning, and Julian arrived by 10am. We had a quote for a new furnace and heat pump that evening, and they worked some magic to have everything needed for installation 3 days later (on Christmas Eve, no less). They arrived bright and early, had a big team of guys on site, and were finished by about 1pm. Julian clearly cares about the quality of the work, and he and Chris have been very pleasant to deal with. We also recently had another service call from them, to check a possible leak (not on part of the system they installed), and the technician was very pleasant and good-natured about it not being anything of concern in the end. Overall, very pleased!

Called for emergency service because the heating at the house was not working (in -20 degree weather!!!) and did virtually nothing AND charged for services he did not perform... in the end he did nothing to fix the heating and we had to spend the night in the cold and we were out 350$! BUYER BEWARE!!! My experience is almost identical to most of the negative reviews listed here; rude, no show, unprofessional, complete disregard for customer. I had my unit installed in 2017, but noticed in the fall of 2019 that my garment bags were ladened with rust water from a leak from pipes running through my closet. This most probably started shortly after installation by the looks of the bags. I called JCD in June 2020 to have a look. I was given an appointment in early July. On the day of the appointment, no one showed or called. I called back and was asked to call back at 4PM. At 4PM, still no show so I called back and was asked to call again at 6PM. My wife called at 6PM and that is when things became complicated. Suddenly she was told that they had no record of the appointment and was simply told to give them our coordinates and get this -- "We'll see" was his response. Frustrated and angry, she just hung up. Being a patient consumer, I wrote an email to Chris explaining the situation and asked he replies or calls me to discuss, if they stand by their workmanship. I waited 4 days for a reply, but received none. They simply don't care. I called another contractor who came the same day and repaired the fault in 10 minutes. The issue was improperly insulated pipes.

I came home to an absolutely freezing house, with a very strong burning smell throughout, very toxic. At 7PM I had to search for a company who could come right away, as it is going down to -29C. JCD was able to send a technician right away. He was very efficient in finding the problem, and was friendly. My heater needs replacing, but he was able to get my furnace back up and running for the night, so I have my heat on again! Great service all around, I don't know how I could've gone to sleep with no heat, so I'm a very satisfied customer right now.

We installed a central A/C system with JCD after they came highly recommended from two Coworkers. One had been using them for 20+ years and the other was extremely pleased with a new home installation they had done for them recently. These guys are the worst in terms of reliability and keeping their word. Also extremely rude. I called and was given an appointment for a certain day. When that day came, a fellow called and rudely said they couldn't make it, did I want them to come later in the week. I said yes, we would wait, because w absolutely needed service. When Friday rolled around, I called them again to make sure they were coming. Julian says, I got no record of the call. And I can't do the work you're needing, I don't have time. Meanwhile, I had explained when I originally called what needed to be done. If you've had good service from this company, consider yourself lucky. If you've never used them, do yourself a favour and call one of the many trustworth HVAC companies out there.

The JCD team really helped us out big time. We had two old oil furnaces/heat pump systems pushing 20 years that completely gave out on us over the weekend (both tanks leaking oil, one furnace finished) and we needed a new system ASAP as we were leaving for the holidays. By noon we had somebody from JCD at our home to work out several options, and I like that he came exactly when he promised he would. The next morning we had over a dozen workers here working from 7AM til late night to redo the whole system in this emergency situation (heat pumps, furnaces, humidifiers, thermostats, duct changes, new electrical entry and panel, water tank, new wiring, disposal of old parts, etc.). They came well-prepared with small generators for the planned power outage, protection for our floors, space heaters to work, and handled everything A-Z for us. All the workers were pleasant and worked very hard in this weather. Really impressed with this service, and extremely relieved to have the heating working again. This wasn't a planned Christmas present but we are happy it was taken care of!

The heating stopped working in my home about 4 days ago (04Mar2021). I contacted several companies that mentioned that due to the spring break no one was available until Monday and they were overbooked already. Lets just say I was super lucky to come across JCD Refrigeration Inc. in my google search. So hopefully my review can help someone place their confidence in this company. I contacted JCD and spoke with Julian who said they could send someone right away but if parts were needed they would have to come back during the week as it is only during the week that suppliers are opened, but that it was up to me. This honesty is rare these days, they could have sent a service rep without being upfront and I would surely have paid double the service costs. I received a call first thing this morning (monday) from Chris that showed up on time in the delay communicated. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, efficient and super honest! He explained to me what could have been wrong, took the time to fix lose wires, secured the unit and made me aware of what I needed to do to maintain my HVAC and duct heater to avoid future issues. I cant tell you how much I appreciate your teams professional service, being on time and honesty. I hope to have your team conduct my HVAC yearly maintenance soon! Thanks again!!

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Worst experience ever! This installation was to replace a very old mini-split wall-mounted A/C system. Chris, the son, came to look and prepare the quote. He promptly emailed the quote the next day (in hindsight, probably without any thought or actually doing any detailed calculations). Replacing the existing, old pipes and drainage (which was HIGHLY recommended by the other contractors who came to offer quotes) would cost several hundred dollars more. We opted for the additional cost to ensure an entirely new and optimum system. Chris assured us NUMEROUS times over the next week that it would not be a problem and that they would do a COMPLETE reinstallation. The day of the installation, the first person came at 7:15 AM (45 minutes earlier than the agreed upon time and disrupting our entire plans for that morning) to remove the old system. When Julian, the dad, arrived he kept saying that he would NOT replace the existing pipes and drainage because there were “too many turns” and they could not guarantee a flawless system as a result. Our setup had ONLY 2 turns before reaching the exterior unit. So, is JCD saying that they only do installations that have a direct and straight path from the interior unit to the exterior unit?!? If that were the case, their business would never have lasted! Or perhaps they are admitting to their incompetence because they are unable to perform such a simple installation involving ONLY 2 turns. The real reason, however, became clearly obvious less that an hour into the installation and for the remainder of that day when Julian kept complaining that he “was not going to spend the whole day here”! After putting up with his bickering and disorganization (he did not come with the proper circuit breaker for the high-voltage to low-voltage connection that Chris quoted, had to run out to buy one, and then dropped our entire new circuit breaker box because he could not be bothered to properly disconnect and reconnect the wire and kept looking for a shortcut), he finally finished – minus the replacement of the pipes and drainage which Chris insisted and promised would not be an issue. When we finally got through to Chris on the phone (who, incidentally, did not make a single appearance onsite that day), all he would say was “I trust my dad’s judgement.” Well then, he should have sent his dad to do the quote so that we could have refused him right away and gone with a more qualified, competent and professional company. We were in no rush for this installation – they could have given us another day when Julian was not in such a rush to go somewhere else! Then, to add insult to injury, Julian charged us an additional $100 for the circuit breaker but said that he would give us a free check-up and cleaning next Spring. First of all, the circuit breaker required for the high-voltage to low-voltage connection was supposed to be INCLUDED in the original price, as per Chris’ quote. Second, it is late Fall and the system will not be used until next Summer… what kind of check-up and cleaning do they think they need to do next Spring when it hasn’t ever been used?!? They will probably spend 5 minutes here, if even that long! So, if you really want to spend MORE for LESS, then by all means, go with JCD. Otherwise, save yourself the time, headache and torment and go with another company… you DEFINITELY cannot find anyone worse!!!

Terrible workmanship - they made an extra hole in my wall, which wasn't easy to get them to fix. When we signed with JCD, Chris (JCD sales) said ALL parts (from the old AC unit) would be replaced. They weren't. I still have the old capping and overflow tube on the outside wall from the old AC unit, which wasn't the deal. When I complained, I was told that that was never the deal, even though it is written on the invoice AND my wife and I heard it with our own ears. Are we liars? Why would I pay all that money to have the old, faded capping running from my brand new AC unit? Also, One of the wall units was making a strange noise. I was told to just turn up the fan to drown out the noise. This made no sense. I called Lennox US and went to Parts Plus (Montreal Distributor) and was told the noise was NOT normal. JCD came 3 times before it was fixed. Just a terrible ordeal. UPDATE: JCD's response to my post is simply NOT TRUE. My invoice states "all brackets, piping, and labour included", which means all brackets, piping and labour EVEN if it goes through the attic, and especially when Chris told us that everything would be changed. They wanted to get the business, but once they got it, suddenly the line through the attic "was fine". During the initial sales visit, if I had heard what they wrote in their response below, I WOULDN'T HAVE DONE BUSINESS WITH THEM. I could write SO much more about how they acted during the installation (yelling, tools on my kid's bed, greasy finger marks on the wall...etc), how Chris treated my wife very poorly when she called him about the issues, how I had to use Lennox to hold them to task...etc. BTW - Lennox was great during this whole ordeal. The regional Representative let me know that they will support me through other Lennox Resellers in the future. I've written enough. Buyer Beware. UPDATE: Again, JCD adds to this post with lies. During the initial visit, Chris actually measured the old refrigeration pipe and said " yup, this will have to be replaced". Now, because I'm complaining on-line, they fabricate a conversation that never happened. Wow. As for the extra hole in the wall due to poor workmanship - what kind of contractor makes a mess of a job, then offers to fix it as a "goodwill gesture" - as if he's doing me a favor? Again, wow. Infuriating.

installed a thermostat that didn't do what it was suppose to do. They later indicated that if i give more money they would make it work properly. they would not give me a refund. suggest that if you use them that you don't pay for 30 days and only when you are satisfied. unfortunately you left out what the worker said to me. he said that the unit would not work right until a sensor was installed which was on back order. he left with the unit not working correctly. two days later he advised that there would be an additional charge to fix it. At that time I told him that I would get someone that knew what they were doing. That someone fixed the unit without any additional equipment.

I called after 6 PM they told me he will try to send someone, within 2 hours a technician was at the house fixed everything right away, Amazing job!!! just a bit pricey.

Amazing emergency repair service. Any company that can send somebody over on a holiday weekend for a home cooling emergency earns a 5-star in my books. 3 hours from the time I called, there is cold air coming out of our vents :)

Would not recommend - sent a service van for a repair job that they knew ahead of time they could not complete. 200$+ just to tell me i need a new AC unit and a sticker, gee thanks.

good points showed up on time bad points insidenew thermostat was knowingly installed with broken pieces and we were promised them to be replaced apx 2- wksafter they rec'd the pieces which was in June 2018. when they arrived I said put some plywood on the grass so you dont damage it when u back your truck up.Did not listen I still have tire amrks on my grass Window in my basement doe s not wok properly so I said if U want to open it use the other side.did not listen and never replaced the screen Julien very high strung and u could nott talk to him while he was doing the installation,I reminded hin it was my house and and I was the cust. Tracked mud in the house and basemnet and did not clean it up. Never returned calls and when we tried toleave a message his box was always full. Broke a 4ft neon bulb in the basement and never told me about it until I saw the broken pieces when he was leaving,never offered to pay or replace the b ulb.wo knows if any of my tools were gone. Chris was supposed to replace our filters and never did so and of course never returned our call. good luck

I called for an emergency repair and charged me 400$ to top of the Freon. The house was built in 2018.. I was just a dirty filter. Plus I asked to be fair for at least not charge me and he brushed me off. I’m willing to pay but I won’t accept to get ripped off. Do not call this company. Plus the repair guy was trying to up sale me repairs

Contacted them on a Wednesday and explained AC problems. We booked an appointment for Friday, and they never showed. When I called to enquire, I had to go through the entire explanation all over again, as though I had never made an appointment. Then I was told that I had to wait until Monday the following week as they needed specialty equipment. When I enquired why this wasn't mentioned when I called to make the appointment, I was told that they don't want to argue and it is, what it is. Take it or leave it. Save yourself the trouble and waste of time, go with someone else.

Great service, these guys really work hard to make it happen. I had an electric furnace emergency and called JCD around 8PM and got a person first try. They came and diagnosed the issue quickly, very professional. The next day when the part arrived I was only be able to make it home late, but they offered to come after hours and got the job done for me. Really appreciate then accommodating my schedule and going the extra mile.cleaned up after as well.
