To our delight Keltie and her team arrived onsite within 1/2 an hour and determined that our 11 year old tank couldn't be repaired and needed to be replaced. She made a call and had a quote sent within 5 minutes, a new tank delivered within an hour. The Acorn team had a fair price; comparable to other quotes we got but the Regency product they recommended was the most attractive option so we gave Acorn the business and we are very glad we did. They recommended other trades to help with updating the look of our tile and woodwork as part of changing the old wood burning fireplace to a new and modern look. Allon from All On Tile and Kevin Kistritz, an independent finishing carpenter did great work on their individual contributions to our small renovation, and the results are plain to see in our before and after pictures. Acorn put up with a few schedule changes (none of them terribly last-minute, but changes nonetheless), and they were very accommodating. We are very happy with the results, and will give Acorn our future business as well as recommend them to family and friends.

We had a sudden water leak in our laundry room. Called ACORN (had never dealt with them before; found them via a GOOGLE search and so was a bit apprehensive). An ACORN technician - Mario - attended - within 30 minutes - and located the leak quickly, after searching persistently. Turned off the water supply to the offending appliance (a dishwasher in my office) and left further repair for the contractor who installed the dishwasher in a kitchen area of a recently renovated office area. Turning off the supply - and even locating the actual leak was a challenge, because of the way the dishwasher had been installed. I was extremely impressed by and satisfied with Mario's work and his friendly demeanor. I think I have identified a plumbing service in the event of future needs.

I am grateful to Chad for his assistance with my hot water heater. Five minutes before the scheduled service visit, he called me to say he would be 10 minutes late--how unexpected (but appreciated!) to have such attentiveness to appointment time. He arrived shortly thereafter and had the problem resolved in a flash. I was unaware that Acorn Heating & Gas was the company my contractor used during a kitchen reno a few years ago. However, Chad recognized my home and didn't charge me for today's visit as a courtesy to an "existing customer". I can't say that I have EVER had a free service call in the past. I am pleased to be able to live in South Delta and to support our local business community. I will definitely call on Acorn for any future heating or plumbing work and will be sure to recommend your company to my friends and neighbours.

The office didn’t notify us for double payment for the same work. Be careful with Acorn office practices! I waited three months, then went to the Acorn office three months after the work was done. Working with Acorn we were able to swiftly and competitively offer a service that would work well within our budget so that we could remediate heating issues in our house during a cold spell! They had provided heaters as well as made quick work of the installation within days of setting up and confirming numbers. In addition, at least for what I am looking for when contacting a service organization is not just the face value of the service, but the add-on value that truly shows partnership. Acorn does this in a way that made us feel secure we were going to be taken care of by providing reasoning to furnace choices they install and even prescribing opt-outs to their own services that may not be immediately needed when working on a quote. This all came together in a great service offering and was reason for why we chose Acorn instead of other organizations we were considering when replacing our furnace! And of course...the service itself was done smoothly, but I emphasize this as a function of the task at hand, not the add-on value that comes with partnership.

Tiffany booked the appointment and was very pleasant she was so happy on the phone she brightened my day and even welcomed me into the neighborhood. The day of my appointment they called me an hour before the plumber arrived which I was very thankful for because I was nervous to take a shower in case they arrived while I was in there. Lol which is always my luck. The plumber showed up an hour later, just like they said, and I was extremely happy to see she was a female. I set up a appointment for installing a "reducing valve" in my radiant heating furnace as recommended by a the technician which was costing me a fair bit. However when the technician TAYLOR showed up, he explained that he did fiuther research on my system and the valve was really not require. He explained to me in detail on the piping set up etc, anyway the long and short of it is that Taylor did not do te cvalve install and saved me a lot of money, and instead did the regular service of the system which was also agreed upon previously. So I trust their integrity with the service and will use them again.

Efficient, super helpful and knowledgeable technicians on the two occasions that I have had them here over the past few years. Today I was delighted to be able to ask the advice of Dennis (the technician who was here to do a check over of my furnace) about a problem that had been bugging me for years with the noisy fan of my fireplace. I was thrilled that he was able to quickly troubleshoot the issue and is now arranging with his Acorn colleague to see about ordering a replacement part. I also was able to learn more about my furnace and after seeing the filter that it would be advisable to have the ducts cleaned (I have 3 big dogs). I was able to get a referral to reliable company with a 10% discount—again, supportive, helpful and efficient. The technician also checked my water tank and offered very helpful advice (and will ask his Acorn colleagues to check (via the tank’s serial numbers) as to what it’s longevity is before it should be replaced. I am a big fan of being proactive to avoid “disasters” such as a leaking tank so I am feeling relieved about the water tank (which has been on my mind for a while). What I really appreciate is the support and assistance through the technician’s helpful attitude, knowledge, efficiency plus follow through which for me translates to peace of mind as a homeowner. Having a quality company that I can trust and depend on translates to peace of mind. I totally recommend Acorn Plumbing and Heating.

We have used Acorn for years for service at our residence for both gas line installation and stove connection as well as electrical work. Also fire place servicing .As well we have Acorn attend to any plumbing issues and fire place servicing at our condo on River Road , currently scheduled for January 14th. 2020. We have always found your service charges to be reasonable as well as necessary parts prices. Your technician’s have been knowledgeable and customer friendly. . However , this last visit has left us feeling that Acorn have now taken the position that let’s get as much money as we can from the customer for as little time spent as possible. My point being is that I explained at the time to the Technician ,exactly what was happening .The pilot light functioned but the low voltage current from the on/off wall switch was not igniting the flame. Upon checking the wiring it was evident that the low voltage wire was somehow in 3 or so pieces and not sufficient to spark ignition. He quickly pointed that just one piece of wire should fix the problem . As I happened to have a roll of the wire he just cut what ever length was necessary and connected the two ends and ignition occurred. No cleaning or vacuuming necessary. The total time spent assessing and connecting the longer wire would not have exceeded 30 minutes. I understand that Acorn have now a fixed rate for determining a problem and also for fixing the problem. In this case we were charged $ 279.30 for 30 minutes time. There is seriously something wrong with this price fixing.

It was terrible experience dealing with Acorn plumbing. Contacted them about replacement of a hood fan due to warranty issue. Tiffany the receptionist quote 300 to 400 and said that it depends on their tech to decide based on how complicated the job will be . James came to our residence replace hood fan within one hour and suggested that custom peace could be made to better fit hood fan into our ventilation system.I agreed to it and he promised to be back some time later to install custom peace and tighten everything for us to be able to use it . James said that the job was very straightforward and he will charge us $250 for his service. James came back after preparing the bill and said that his office suggested that they quoted me 300 to 400 dollars ,so he would have to add another $97 service fee.It was totally unacceptable for Acorn to try to up charge me more for the job because they have quoted me $300to 400 before. Acorn said at the beginning tech will determine the price based on the scope of work to be done and he did.After complaining to Megan about the issue I have never felt that she care or try to resolve the problem with customer in mind.Megan kept talking over me when I try to explain to her and kept saying that she changed me within price point that they quoted me.In my opinion as a customer I’ve been overcharged and I’ve been left with unfinished installation of a hood fan .As a potential customer reading my experience with Acorn please do yourself a favor and find another plumbing company that wouldn’t try to take advantage of the situation and slap you with extra charges.

I have used Acorn for a while now and the people have been great to deal with as well as their technicians and service. As I have been paying a monthly fee for a priority service for some time now, my gas fireplace was not working so I called them for a service visit in mid to late October. I was told that others have priority over us and they would let me know when they had something available. I waited two weeks and decided to reach out to them , to see where things were at. Now, we were told nothing was available until Nov 30. This is not acceptable as the main reason I elected to pay the $20.00 per month was for a priority type service. In high and sight, this was a cash grab for them and I'm not happy about it! I was told that they had a technician unexpectedly quit on them so they were short staffed but unfortunately, that's not my problem. From the outset, I liked these people for their fast, efficient service but it seems to have gone to the waist side. I have since talked to Elissa (owner) and will give them another try going forward. They will refund my monthly fees.

Acorn's service was straight out of the top drawer! After being messed about by Campbell for several years, the last straw was when our furnace failed and Campbell's solution was to replace the fan and panel for (parts only) "around $1,300". And that's not all: No warranty on the fan that had been replaced 3 years ago, and the fan would have to sourced from Calgary which would take a week. A suggested alternative was to replace the entire furnace, which could be done right away. I had no trouble rejecting this without asking for a price. Acorn said they would send someone over right away, and 3 hours later Shayne turned up, found that a $80 capacitor needed replacing, got the furnace back working and charged us less than $200 including taxes. Excellent service!

Very impressed with Acorn. The appointment was easy to book and within an acceptable time frame. Jordan came out to assess our unique heat pump and heat exchange system. He really went above and beyond to explain the system, what we needed to do to keep it going well, and then giving the heat pump and filters a general service. He found i had a small gas leak, and fixing the problem now saved a bigger hassle later. The needed part was available within days, and he returned with another wonderful tech to do the repair. First off the technician that showed up was good seemed to know what he was doing. As for the poor review I booked this appointment about three weeks ago and was told I was going to be second on his docket so would be around noon so took the day off work. I know it’s a busy time of the year but I had to phone and find out when he was going to get here at 1pm and was told that he would be around 3pm. At 3:40 he finally arrives and he told me that I was last on his docket so not at all happy with the communication with Acorn and not happy about spending an entire day waiting for them to show. If I will use Acorn again ... probably not.
