Had my furnace replaced by A DIFFERENT company and the installer did not have the knowledge to do the required commissioning (diagnostics) of the furnace required by the manufacturer and the Fortis rebate program. Made a call to Westisle and their tech Greg came and sorted everything out and i was able to submit my rebate and know my furnace was running properly! Will only use Westisle in the future. I had Westisle (Axis) install a Mitsubishi Zuba heat pump two years ago. This machine is an ultra high efficiency model that heats to minus 20 Centigrade and requires no back up heat. As soon as the weather is cold enough that back up heat comes on, you have lost all the efficiency of a heat pump. If you purchased a heat pump that requires either electrical or gas back up, you are living in the past.

Excellent business! Our AC broke on the hottest day of the year, I called the company in the morning and they had a service guy out by the afternoon. I was very surprised and appreciative of the prompt response as they most kindly rearranged their day to accomodate us, and did so at no additional charge. Peter, the service guy was great! He knew exactly what the problem was and repaired it very quickly. He also spent some time explaining what to look for in terms of maintenance and how to operate my heat pump in the most efficient manner during the hot and cold season. Overall a VERY POSITIVE experience and I couldn't recommend these guys enough!! :)

We recently had a heat pump installed and I have only great things to say about my experience with Westisle. I had two quotes. One from Westisle, and one from Bennett. Both estimates were quite professional, and the prices were comparable for what we needed. The quote from Bennett was for a single unit, one option. Westisle provided 4 estimates with different brand options, and supporting documents for each heat pump. They put additional effort into their multiple quotes and responded to significant correspondence from me via email with all kinds of questions. I can be a pain in the butt with making a final decision on large purchases and Grant put up with me, and got me all the answers I needed to move forward. The installers were also very friendly, professional and courteous. When they were finished they left everything as they found it. The weather was nasty and they tracked a lot of dirt and mud into the house (unavoidable), Most of it as contained to dropsheets they put down, and the rest was all cleaned up before they left. Before they began I walked around with them and we discussed where the refrigerant lines would have to be run. It appeared that an ugly bulkhead would be unavoidable. I accepted this, told them it was not a problem. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they managed (with great difficulty) to completely hide the lines! No ugly bulkhead! This was a huge bonus. They accomplished what we thought was the impossible. It has only been about 24 hours since they wrapped up the install, so I have no long-term observations, but so far the heat-pump and everything is working flawlessly. I do have a recommendation to those reading this review. When I chose the unit that was ultimately installed I went with the Amana. In hindsight I might have gone with a quieter unit. The Heat Pump itself, while a bit loud, can not really be heard in the house, but the noise from the air handler is louder than our old 40 year old furnace that was removed - you can certainly hear more noise coming from the registers. Grant did mention that another unit was quieter, but I decided not to go that route to save a few dollars. So this is nothing that Westisle did wrong as the choice was mine. The noise is not terrible, but a quieter unit for the extra $ might have been worth while. At the end of the day, I would not hesitate to recommend Westisle!

He gave us lots of choices, helping us find a quiet model and assisting us with finding rebates and financing. The installers were tidy. We are happy with the heat pump and updated thermostat. We have used Westisle in the past for the maintenance of our Tankless Hot Water Heater and will continue to do so for any future work. Adam spent a lot of time brain storming our mystery ghost of a problem and consulting with the Head Office. I learned from Adam that this problem may not even be related to the tank but may have to do with our taps/plumbing in our ensuite. At least we know where to start looking or keeping an eye in our ensuite. From my call to Westisle to the time when Adam left our home we had polite, courteous and prompt service. They have our recommendation.

We had the unit installed by Axis then West Isle bought through an asset sale. During the transition period I had issues with the install where it was to be installed with feet so it is up off the concrete base. I spoke to Joe and I was told "this would be taken care of". There was no follow up! I have issues with unit and now and they are not honouring what was previously agreed to. A $20090.00 bill on this install.

We purchased a Mitsubishi split heat pump and a Rinnai hot water on demand unit four years ago. We are extremely happy with both units and the professional services of the Westisle company. Each year we are sent a reminder to schedule a checkup for maintenance and warranty protection. All of the visits have been handled in a professional and pleasant manner . The technicians are very knowledgeable and most willing to explain things when asked questions. This July , Keegan arrived on time after phoning to say he would arrive in a the stated time. Keegan is a credit to his company and fits all of the boxes as a great representative. He worked quickly and efficiently and took time to answer a few questions we had. He even insisted on checking a drain pump that I had checked the day before( in crawl space) just to make sure seals etc. were in good order. THIRD REVIEW - November, 2020 Last month, October, 2020, we had Westisle come to our home perform routine maintenance on our natural gas fireplace, natural gas tankless hot water system, and our electric ductless heat pump. The appointment was easy to set up, Kari was very accommodating and helpful in scheduling, and when service day arrived, the technician arrived on time. The technician, Keegan, went to work right away and completed all tasks efficiently and professionally. Most of all, Keegan put up with my constant bombardment of questions about all three appliances. He was very patient, knowledgeable, and provided me with very helpful advice regarding a 25 year old gas fireplace. Keegan took the time to explain what he was doing and answered all my questions. Keegan was very respectful of our home. Nothing was scratched or damaged and no garbage or dirt was left behind. We have complete comfort in knowing our systems are well maintained and will not cause us any issues during the upcoming winter months. I highly recommend Westisle! ???? SECOND REVIEW - April 2019 This past January we contacted Westisle to explore removing our aged hot water tank, and installing a tankless hot water system. Grant attended our home, considered our plans, and provided us with a quote for the work. We went ahead with the work and had the installation done by Westisle. We chose a Rinnai system. The Westisle technician arrived on time and did the install in a professional and efficient manner. There was a small issue with the arrangement of the piping after the work was complete. I contacted Westisle, discussed the issue, and Westisle promptly found a solution to the issue and actioned it quickly. We love the system. Grant recommenced the right size system and we are very pleased with the workmanship and product. Well Done Westisle! ???? INITIAL REVIEW - January 2019 August, 2018, we moved into a 25 year old house in Parksville, BC, having recently moved from Eastern Canada. In the house we moved from, we had 2 different heat pump systems, 1 in a garage and 1 in a house so we were familiar with duct and ductless heat pump systems. In this house, at the top of our reno list was a heat pump system. Over 3 months we had several area companies, big and small, in for assessments and quotes. By far, Westisle provided the best assessment and system design. They instilled the most confidence in us the work would be done well, and provided a competitive quote. On Grant's advice we opted for a Mitsubishi ductless heat pump (mini split) system with 2 interior units. From the first visit by Grant to assess our home/needs and prepare the quote, to the install by Joe and Dan, we could not have asked for a better experience. All Westisle staff were here when they said they would be and were always ready to get the job done. Joe and Dan worked efficiently with little disruption to our household. They both did a neat and tidy job and treated our home as if it was their own. One of the technicians, Joe, has several fields of expertise and years of experience under his belt which made the install very smooth and did not call for a stream of tradespeople. The Mitsubishi has many "new and improved" features over the past two other brand systems we've had. The units are very quiet. Due to a lay out issue we had to place the outside unit outside our master bedroom. We never hear the outside unit running because it is so quiet. The inside units are also quiet and fit in well with the decor of our home. We are very pleased with the work and now enjoy a considerably improved level of comfort in our entire home. Overall, great service from Westisle, great equipment from Mitsubishi. I recommend Westisle to everyone. You will not be disappointed.

We attained 3 quotes from local HVAC companies and realized the price points were all very similar. However the Westisle sales rep spent a lot more time at our home going over all our options and teaching us versus pushing a particular product. In the end we ended up getting a much better system for our house than what we were asking for but at the same cost. Were so happy with our purchase and the guys who did the install were awesome. They took a lot of time to answer our questions and teach us about the system. There was never any pressure and we feel we hired the best company in town.

Last spring we went through an EnerGuide Evaluation of our house prior to home renovations and wanted to qualify for all BC Hydro Rebates. We went with a Mitsubishi ductless heat pump from Westisle Heating and Cooling Ltd for our new heating system. As we did not want wall units we went with 3 ceiling cassettes. The install was professional and Joe and his crew did an excellent job taking care with our house and always cleaning up after themselves. The system is great and our heating costs have dropped by 33% or more. We did have a bit of a technical issue with the cassettes operation but technician Ryan was persistent in resolving the problem, as was Mitsubishi Ltd. The units are quiet and the outdoor heat pump is very quiet. We have no reservations recommending Westisle Heating and Cooling Ltd.

We purchased our home at the end of October 2016. We soon learned that the old furnace did not work properly and although it was not part of our anticipated renovation expenses, we opted for an Ameristar heat pump purchased through and installed by Westisle in December 2016. They removed and disposed of the old furnace and installed the new furnace and heat pump. Access to install the new furnace was very awkward in our house but they did a terrific job. Our heating bills were greatly reduced. However, in November 2018 the weather was colder and I noticed that the outside unit never stopped running and was iced up. I called Westisle and luckily Joe was in the area and was here within 1/2 hour. He checked the unit and reset it. It worked fine - as long as the weather was not cold. As soon as it turned colder, our unit iced up and would not stop running. Again, a couple of weeks later in November, the same thing happened. Westisle attended and determined the sensor and defrost board were not working. New parts were ordered but as they were ordered from the USA and with the Christmas and New Year Holidays in between, the new parts were not received until January and were installed January 3rd, 2019. The unit worked fine for five days and again iced up when the weather was cold. Westisle once again replaced the sensor and so far the unit is working well. I find it much quieter now than it had been before, both outside and inside the house. I highly recommend Westisle and their technicians. They have been very responsive and considerate to our situation and we find them to be very helpful, professional and courteous. However, at this point, I cannot honestly say that I would recommend an Ameristar Heat pump.

My goal is to wean myself away from wood heat; just had my second Mitzubishi mini-split installed by Westisle. Last winter was the acid test for unit #1 and it performed beyond my expectations so I felt very confident on installing a second unit to heat a different zone. The installation was straight foreward and installer Greg did a very professional job in what seemed like a very short time. The install is very neat and tidy, all lines running parallel... looks fantastic! A shout-out to Casey the Sales Engineer, Greg the installer and Toni and Keri in the office... they are all very professional and know what they are doing and they do it in a warm friendly kind of way. I recommend them 100% and would not hesitate to call them again!

I commend the professionalism and considerations of all who were involved with the instillation of our heat pump . However, we were not informed prior to making the very large investment that the heat pump does not work in zero degree temperatures or below. Therefore, when it gets cold, we need back up heat for our house to be warm which in my mind completely defeats the purpose of this investment.
