I contacted Thermo Tec for an estimate on a ductless AC system for my condo. A date & time was arranged. Fifteen minutes before the arranged time I got a call from Mike saying he had been held up in a meeting & would be 20 minutes late. Fair enough. However, he was, in total an hour & ten minutes late & there was no other update phone call. Everyone has a cell phone. A courtesy call is very easy to make. To his credit, he did his best to find where the wiring from my breaker panel went but failed. His suggestion was to possibly drill holes in the wall or ceiling to trace the route of the prewired AC wiring. He wanted me to contact the builder to find out where the wiring went. The other company I contacted showed up on time & knew exactly where the wiring started & came out. I had their quote within 3 hours of their arrival. Would not recommend Thermo Tec.

Great service and pricing, the install team did a great job on the spring. The heat pump is costing more hydro than my 25 year old furnace. Not their fault. Not sure if the model I got will need lots of upkeep. Part needs replacing by the fall, glad it's coveted under warranty.

From the very first inquiry to Thermotec to the final install, everyone at Thermotec has been professional and friendly. Mike, the owner, came to our home to do our estimate himself (no other companies did this); and he give us various options, including some for which BC Hydro may give rebates. He was truly interested in providing solutions and even included options at various price-points in his estimate so we could make choices. He answered questions with great patience; prices were very good; and his turn-around time from order to install was much shorter than that quoted by competitors (1 week versus 3). The turn-time was a big deal since our old system was not working well on the extra cold days/nights, Rather than perceiving them as not as busy as the others,, having a relatively short turn time indicates good management and adequate staffing to me. For all of these reasons, we felt confident placing our order for this large purchase (over $10K) with Mike. On the day of install, we had the pleasure of having Ian and Kyle on site. They are nice young men, clearly knowledgeable in their trades, and were so neat and tidy. They even replaced the porch furniture they had to move to carry our unit more easily; many contractors would have forgotten to do that and left the chairs for the homeowner to replace. Ian and Kyle explained various aspects of our new system to us, how to program the thermostat, and were happy to answer any of my questions. The positive experience even continued past the install when I had questions about completing the BC Hydro rebate form, and Stephanie (admin in the office) was very patient and got me the answers I needed immediately. I am happy to recommend Thermotec to anyone.

Just prior to this whole Covid pandemic, we had started some major renovations to our building. For part of this renovation we were considering upgrading the current heating system with a new heat pump and air conditioning system. After sending out several requests for quotes and reviewing them along with other providers we decided on using Thermo Tec Mechanical for several different reasons. Pricing was one of our major concerns but not the only factor that we considered. It has been a very long time since we have had to deal with any major building projects, so we had to rely heavily on the advice and all options provided by these company quotes. We must say without a doubt Mike (the Owner at Thermo Tec Mechanical) was most thorough at explaining all of our options for installation and pricing. We felt so comfortable that he was not just there for the sale, but was there to help us make very important decisions before we went forward with an installation. We received great service from Mike and his crew. They were neat and tidy during the whole installation. As a matter of fact, during the installation we had an unrelated problem pop up with the condensation drain on our natural gas home furnace. I just happened to mention it to Julian (Mikes son) and he said lets go have a look. He identified the problem and didn't hesitate to jump in grab the parts he needed and fixed it immediately. Now that's great service, and, on top of that disruption to his day, there was no extra charge. Sometimes pricing is not the most important thing to consider. For us it was the service and the ongoing relationship that follows. After the system was completely installed there was a recall on all of the copper pipes. The whole systems piping had to be replaced. OMG I thought, all the drop ceilings, electrical and sound insulation were going to be ruined. Turns out that was not the case. Thermo Tec Mechanical and their crew completely turned that whole system around and reinstalled all the copper tubing etc. without a single issue. This has turned out to be a very long review but we thought a simple short review would not suffice. Future potential customers need to know these kinds of things. A simple short review would have never expressed our total satisfaction with Thermo Tec Mechanical and their employees. It is without hesitation that we can say we were totally satisfied with Thermo Tec Mechanical, and would have no problem endorsing their company and their great service. Cheers

I highly recommend Thermo Tec , they gave great service and were incredibly knowledgeable . Mike was very helpful in explaining our options for the heating system we had installed in our home. The technicians were very quick and efficient, they really knew what they were doing. I will recommend them to everyone from now on :)

Claude from Thermotec really helped us out. Our heat pump was making a horrible noise. It stumped two other companies who were guessing at the problem and quoted us high prices to fix the wrong thing. Claude really stuck with it and figured it out. He got us the part under warranty and the replacement cost was very reasonable. We're very grateful for his effort and the money that he saved us.

This company is horrible!!!. They are only getting 1 star because it wont let you post without at least 1- If my family could give them negative stars we would. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. They found an issue with my elderly Nanny's condensate line last August (2018) - a rodent had chewed the line. They said they had to order parts. It took until April of this year (2019) to finally get the parts and their excuse was they were back ordered because it isn't a usual part to fail. My cousin called the distributor who told her that it was untrue - It was that Thermotec never followed up with the order. To add insult to injury Thermotec charged my Nanny $474.23 to put in a plastic tube that they stated took 3.5 hrs- to which the grossly inflated the hrs the technician was even at her house & charged a $30 truck charge on top of it all. In January Nanny's HP wasn't working (again) so she called Thermotec (because they were the ones that installed the system) they came out and charged her over $200 (plus truck charge again) to change the batteries in her remote as that turned out to be the issue- over $200 for a couple of $$ worth of batteries- disgusting. It was at this time that Nanny mentioned she was still waiting for the part from last August which was was triggered them to get on ordering it.Nanny lives on her own as Poppa just died a few months ago so my cousin spoke to the owner of Thermotec, Mike, about the invoices and all he did was interrupt her & tell her how rude she was for trying to help Nanny from being ripped off. He also said that the part they ordered (condensate line) is not available as it is not a usual part to fail- why did Thermotec install equipment in my elderly grandparents home in the first place if parts are unavailable? We have since learned that condensate line can be bought at Andrew Sheret for most Heat pumps. Mike just looked for EVERY excuse in the book & said he would not even reduce the invoice when my cousin asked - his response was that he had a business to run and didn't care if we felt that Nanny was being taken advantage of. Nanny has put out over $1000.00 in total repair on equipment only a couple years old & shouldn't be gauged by a greedy arrogant business owner. Call ANYONE but these guys for new purchases or service!

Had our gas furnace replaced. Awesome product. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. Top notch install and we are very pleased with our new system. Looking forward to adding a heat pump to it for summer heat relief. We will definitely be going back to them when the time comes.

I went in to Thermotec Mechanical to see it they could test a dual run Capacitor for me as I was having issues with my heat pump They were very help full with this In the end I had to have a service call ,The Tec was very knowledgeable and informative fixed the issue tested the system and took pictures and measurements for a quote to replace the 20 yr. old system. Offered some valuable suggestions regarding the air handers filters . First class customer service something that is hard to find on Vancouver island .

We are in the middle of a heat wave and of course the A/C breaks down. I expected a long wait as I knew I was likely not the only person in Thermo Tec's territory with this problem. I only had to wait a few hours and the Tech (sorry I didn't catch his name) was friendly, quick and efficient. Identified the problem and fixed it within what seemed like only a few minutes. We can now breathe a cool sigh of relief! Thank you Mike and the team!
