Colonial supplied and installed our new kitchen counter tops. Excellent installers and careful workmanship. There was a flaw that did not show up for about a year, Colonial immediately sent over a representative to check it out. They had a repairman come by and make the repair within the week. Highly recommend this company.

I ordered my countertop on November 13, the fellow I spoke to said it would be 2 weeks to complete... and they would cut the hole for our sink!! woot.. great... well. paid for it when I ordered it, no receipt given except the debit machine receipt. hubby dropped the sink off to them a few days later.. no receipt either.. you know, saying we have your sink and won't lose it. this morning I called, told the lady who I was, spelled my name twice... she didn't think they had an order in our name... !!! looked again... then told me I had to bring in the sink so they could make a hole. she sounded totally befuddled and I said we dropped off the sink and you better have it! so I have almost no evidence of anything!! she said "if they do have it it could be ready "tomorrow or Friday" (tomorrow is Friday) she sounded so vague and befuddled I seriously wondered if they let a stranger answer their phones. So we went over there to talk in person and make eye contact. I opted to wait in the car because I was too angry. Through the window I watched my husband talking to them. one woman talking to him with her arms crossed in a Donald Trump stance.. when hubby came to the car, it had boiled down to, we are small potatoes, not as important as big contracts... they don't give receipts upon people ordering things.. ??? where's judge Judy when we need her? because.. we aren't a large contract with bags and bags of money... meh... our order's not very important. they get to it whenever... we've had no kitchen sink for 4 weeks... but whatever... not their problem they clearly don't want our business, and when I entered their store, they should have shooed me out the door. We can't pick our countertop up on Saturday (if it's even ready... ) although their store is open that day, you aren't allowed to pick up on Saturdays. because they don't open for the convenience of their customers. I was prepared to bring the measurements for the other counters, so we can finish our kitchen. But because our business is not important to them. I have to find someone else to make them for us.. this means our kitchen won't match. so the other countertops we wanted will have to be procured elsewhere... Susan Harrison

Gloria sold it, Matt measured it, Alex and Rob installed it...all of them were really helpful from the beginning until the end. Gloria was great with communicating via email and phone. Very helpful with making the decisions and giving some advise. Matt came our house to measure to make sure everything was what we wanted. Countertop was ready and was able to be installed before our projected date. Alex and Rob were really helpful after installation... giving lots of advice on counter care. I was about to hire this company to do 2 slabs of granite stone for a kitchen. They initially said they do granite countertops all the time and a 3 cm stone was not a problem. I was buying the stone from one of the top Vancouver stone suppliers and they were familiar with the company and said they only sold quality stone. 3 weeks into the process with lots of delay in getting responses from them for quotes, contact with the granite supplier etc. I went into the Courtenay store to pick out a quartz product for the bathroom. I asked about the warranties on the various quartz products and then their "expert" on the subject came out to discuss the quartz. I mentioned my name and that they were going to do the granite for me. That is when they (all 3 employees there in agreement) said that I needed to do my research for using granite. I asked what they meant by that. They said granite has crystals and fishers and that I need to be aware of what I was buying. They further said that it is very fragile and subject to breaking during transportation, shipping and installation and that if the stone broke that it would be glued together. They wanted to make sure I was aware of this. I said that I wouldn't expect to pay $10,000 for countertops if they were all glued together and that if they broke the stone I would presume they would replace it at their cost. They confirmed that this would not be the case. I asked if they warranted their work and they told me they didn't. I said "so I might hire you to do this job and I return after the job is complete to find my countertops all glued together and have to pay full price for your services". The answer was YES. Maybe they do a good job with quartz but when it comes to natural stone I can't say anything positive from my experience. I told them Floform had the balls to tell me right from the start that they are not experts in natural stone and declined to do the job. Colonial strung me along for 3 weeks before they told me that I would have to be prepared to accept a glued together finished product for full price. Unbelievable. I needed to write this as the next person may not realise what it is that the end product may be. Rock Solid and Matrix Marble will guarantee their work for natural stone. If they break the stone they state that they will replace it. Do your homework on your fabricator.

TERRIBLE experience with this company! Hired them to do our countertops. Provided them with the plan for the kitchen in July. They confirmed that they could do the job. We paid a deposit for our new countertops in August. Come November 23rd, they send someone out for final measurements and he tells us that the people who built our cabinets messed up the measurements on the plan, when in fact, it was Colonial Countertops who misread the plans! Our excitement to have a kitchen for Christmas came to an abrupt end when Colonial Countertops told us that our countertop was too large and that they could not meet our requirements. Susan at Colonial was extremely rude and when I asked for our deposit back, I was given a truck load of attitude and a "pfftt..." It has now been one whole month since we requested our deposit back, which of course "has to go through head office" (code for we are going to delay your refund as long as we can). Merry #$%! Christmas Colonial!!

The staff was very knowledgeable about the various products. They were understanding in regards to budget and were able to provide me with a fantastic counter top. All appointments for measuring, installing and finishing were provided and followed. Rick was great to work with to narrow down how I wanted my kitchen to look. Very disorganized company. Unpleasant experience with Gloria. I couldn’t seem to get a return phone call or email from her. I eventually had to escalate to the manager. The countertops were very nice and the installer/temp-later Matt was excellent. I would not recommend this company based on my experience with Gloria.
