Here is a company that over delivered and exceeded my expectations. We had very tired and neglected fascia board that was peeling and looked awful. Not to mention three of the boards were severely rotted. Not a problem for this crew, they scraped and scraped, filled in and caulked. Then sent a very skilled carpenter to replace the rotten fascia! Two coats and my house looks great! Special Thanks to Chad, Ian, and Jim! couldn't be happier! P.S also repaired rotten siding, and built new stairs to the deck!

I've used Master Painting twice. Once for interior and most recently exterior. Dave is very helpful and knowledgable. Both times the estimates I've been given have been what I paid, no surprises. Dave and the crew painted our house about 4 years ago. We had them paint ceilings walls railings and trim. They came in covered furniture cleaned up everyday and if we questioned them on a matter the answers were precise and they were very accommodating to fix anything we wanted done. We were so happy with there work we had the complete outside of the house done in June the same year. Since then we have recommended them to many others who have had the same experience. Since then we have sold that house and built a brand new house. Our contractor had his painters do our new house. We are so disappointed that the entire paint job will need to be redone. Stunned by the high level of professionalism. I really felt the need to leave a review here for service even though we ultimately didn't exchange any money with this company. Here's what made me so impressed. I requested an estimate for exterior painting online. I recieved a call back the same afternoon and an appointment for the next day. This is the end of the season for exterior painting, so it's quite busy. Even so, Dave the owner, came on time and even called ahead to confirm. He gave me HONEST ADVICE about what the exterior of my house requires and took extra time to explain to me what is causing my specific problems and the ways to potentially address them. Ultimately he reccomended me a completely different service, with a different business. I am so impressed that he was prompt, very friendly and personable and took the time to explain my situation to me. It's so rare to find someone who really knows what they are talking about and is going to be honest with you about what you really need. He could have taken my money and left me with the same issues I had before, but he obviously cares about his company and his reputation and his customers. He took 20 minutes (or more) out of his busy day to tell me I would be better served with something else. It's really rare to find that kind of integrity and I really encourage anyone and everyone to do business with folks like this.

We have used Master Painting twice in the past year, once for a condo and recently on our house. Both times a complete paint including ceilings, walls, trim, doors and baseboards was done to a high professional standard. What makes it nice is the fact that there are at least, between 2 and 4 painters on the job so it gets completed in a reasonable time. Dave and his crew are friendly and customer orientated and open to any followup that may be required. In our recent job, it entailed them putting their first coat on, plus trim paint, then wait until our new flooring was installed prior to returning to complete the job with a second coat and whatever else was required. We would certainly use Master Painting again and highly recommend them to anyone else. I also checked with Work Safe BC and they are registered and up to date.

We had Master Painting renovate our entire kitchen. After the initial quote from Dave, we were expecting someone to sit down with us to plan in detail where everything was going. We were told by Amy that they didn't do that. Then she told me they had a designer, but it would cost extra. Then Dave told me that he didn't think our project warranted a designer and that Alphee, their cabinet maker, and myself could handle the planning. We decided to talk to Alphee. At our first meeting, Alphee seemed to be hearing what we wanted. We requested a second meeting to get a detailed floor plan of the kitchen renovation, and with some extra insistence, was able to get Alphee to draw a plan by hand. Just before we were to finalize the plans, we received a computer generated floor plan. We noticed that the pull out spice rack was missing. When we pointed this out to Alphee and Dave at the final meeting, we were told we couldn't have it located where we had wanted it to be. As it turned out, the design and the location didn't work, so we ended up not being able to have a pull out spice rack. At our first meeting with Alphee, we had also asked the upper cupboards to be lowered an inch or two, so that I could reach them better. Alphee told me that the standard was 18". I took this to be a "no". When Alphee installed the upper cupboards, they were 19" above the counter tops (an inch higher than the old ones). I was told this was due to having under the counter lights put in. We were also surprised to find on installation that the upper cupboards had shrunk from 33" to 28". I was livid! In retrospect, and to be fair to Alphee, he did offer to lower one side of the kitchen cupboards, but by this time I had had enough with people coming and going, so declined the offer. In saying "that I had had enough of people coming and going" refers to the fact that I had to tell or show the trades people that came in to my house where to put the electrical, the gas, the drywall, the plumbing, and the appliances. Dave nor his brother did this even though Dave's brother was suppose to be the project manager. I was just very thankful that the people Dave had working for him were with good, quality companies and knew what they were doing. I was also thankful that Amy, Dave's wife, was able to schedule and reschedule them as needed.

Hired Master Painting for $6K of interior painting. That went very well. So we hired them to paint the exterior of our house and do some carpentry finishing. Quote came to over $17K. Quality and finishing was very good. The crew were very kind and friendly. However unfortunately they came asking for more money. “ This wasn’t included in the quote and neither was that. “ When I questioned numerous times what the extra costs were, and how they were incurred, they couldn’t tell me. Even when I invited them to come back to our house to demonstrate the extras, the owner did not have a clue what the “extras” were. All he knew was they needed more money for the job. Poor communication throughout the processs, the job got away from them due to inefficiencies and we had to pay for it. Sorry, I Would not recommend this company if you’re expecting professional services from start to finish.

They prepped the house a few days before and then on the day of painting they replaced all boards that need to be replaced. One was a major interior job that involved replacing doors/windows, opening holes in walls to create new access and remodeling parts of the kitchen. The second was the construction of a closet.
