Classic bait and switch. Underquoted the job, then they wanted to charge an extra 37% to finish. When they said they were all done the work I went out to inspect it only to discover my concrete was still not sitting at the proper level. I asked the workers about it and they claimed that to bring the concrete to the correct level to get the water to flow away from my house would require approx an extra 37% more money, or I could leave it as is which accomplished nothing. I spoke with the man who quoted me on the phone, we argued about it, but I still had to pay extra to have to job done right or else just leave it incomplete. At that point there was nothing I could do short of a lawsuit. I decided to pay and just leave this review.

These guys have a cookie cutter approach to all jobs. They are WAY more expensive than they should be and they do not stand behind their work. They left my crawlspace with water pooling up to the surface and not draining properly into the sump. It is a good thing that I had time to see it before they covered everything up with the clean space plastic. BEWARE, they are only covering up a problem so you don't see it anymore. My new contractor says it is the third time this year he has had to go in and fix their mess. would NOT recommend. do your homework and find someone better/cheaper.

We had a sales rep come out to our home April 8 or 9 and have never received our quote. I have followed up more than once, each time I am told they have no record of anyone coming to our home but then they are able to find it and I am told a quote will be sent to me. It is May 14 and we still have not received this quote. I feel like if it is this difficult just to get a quote how hard is it going to be to actually get the work done? ----- Update: We received a phone call shortly after posting our review. The sales person said that they had never promised us a quote to begin with (when he left our home he had said one would be emailed in a few days) and that an actual written quote cannot be provided unless we were moving forward with the work first. The company deleted this same review on Facebook which feels a bit dishonest. --- Update #2 (response to owner) we were not given a verbal quote until today (May 14) and that was only after leaving this review. Our sales person did not ever mention having to get an engineer out for a quote, your response is the first we are hearing of that, he specifically said that he would email a quote within a couple of days. I have tried to follow up without any result and the only thing that got an actual response was this review.

I had a minor basement leak, and called Sam to inspect and give me some options. He recommended moving relatively quickly on the job before more damage was done. We booked an appointment however mother nature worked even faster - the basement got flooded. Sam's crew came in and installed the perimeter guard waterproofing inside, and a sump pump, and we've had no issues since!! Thank you Sam!

I had concrete lifted in numerous spots and the work was excellent. Bert and Tim were very personable and explained exactly what they were doing and the results that they expected. On our pool deck, I had a small section around the in deck solar blanket compartment that had sunk in such a way that it was on an angle and was preventing the proper operation of the blanket system. Other concrete lifting methods would not have worked here because they require larger holes to be drilled and there is not enough control over the lifting. Bert and Tim were able to get it lifted enough so that the box cover will now close and the blanket goes in and out easier. Excellent work!!!

We've had our share of basement floods these past few years, a couple of them really bad. A friend had recommended ABS to me, they had done her basement and she was happy so I shot out an email and next day I had a reply and call, an appointment was set for someone to come out and inspect our beleaguered basement. The fellow that came out (Jeff) was very professional, he thoroughly inspected everything and made his recommendations and confirmed where we thought water was getting in and alleviated some other fears. Then the date was set for our work to be done. The ABS crew sent to us was: Jordan, Emerson, Arelio, and Edwardo, and worked their butts off for two days to demo, install, patch and clean. They did a phenomenal job, were very polite, friendly and professional while in the house and kept everything clean and tidy. Thanks guys & Advance Basement Systems! <3

It has been approximately a year since ABS took our sump pump/cold cellar room from a moldy, smelly, spider ridden room you wouldn't want to be in, to a clean, dry, odorless room that can now be used as it was intended, and I am happy to say that we haven't had any issues with there service or products. They performed the work exactly as stated during the estimate, and even went above and beyond by removing the old drain pipe from a very awkward location that would have been near impossible for me to do at my age, at no extra charge. They replaced both that and our second sump pump and turned both those nasty open pit holes into a neat plastic covered container which eliminated the musty smell in the room and has made the sump pumps pleasing, presentable and far less dangerous to our pets. The seepage within the concrete block foundation, which had also been affecting our recreation room next to it, has now been eliminated by the positive drain gutter they installed in the cold cellar room as well. I had a wonderful experience with Advanced Basement Systems installing a radon mitigation system in our home. I don't think most people realize that radon is the #2 cause of lung cancer. It is so worth having your home tested and a system installed if needed. Mike and Joel were fantastic to work with - very knowledgeable and courteous. They walked me through every step of the process and took their time to find the best location for the system. They also installed a new sump pump, which has been working great (and looks SO MUCH better than what we had before). Our radon numbers went from well over the acceptable limit (frequently had readings over 500Bq/m3, and it hasn't gone over 2Bq/m3 since the installation. Amazing!

Advanced Basement Solutions in Chatham did an excellent job on remediating the radon gas at my home in London. I have included a photo from a radon gas sensor which shows the radon gas levels starting to increase again going into the fall (as it usually did) and then dropping dramatically after their remediation - and it has remained very low since then! They also repaired a leak in my foundation with their Flexispan product and I have had no leaks since they made the repair even after several significant rain storms. I found Mike to be professional in analysing my requirements and coming up with practical and cost-effective solutions. Their pricing was good compared to other quotes I obtained. Mike and Joel also exhibited excellent workmanship and took obvious pride in doing the job right and leaving their workspace clean.

I live in a century old farmhouse which had a leaky basement for the entire time I lived here (40 years). 10 years ago I had Advanced Basement Systems in to waterproof the leaky walls and install a new sump pump system. I recently purchased a home and one heavy downpour in July was enough for the rain water to seep into the crawl space and the laundry room in my basement. I immediately contacted advanced basement systems and the company arranged Jeff Miller to visit our home in August to inspect and provide a solution. . After a thorough inspection he explained in detail what the issue was and the recommended solution and the estimate. I gave the approval and ABS immediately schedule the work for Nov. 5 . On the specified date 4 staff members showed up and completed the repair work within a day which was surprising. The team members were courteous and took great care to control dust and also not to damage the interior and the floor finishes. I was really impressed by the way ABS planned and executed the work including scheduling right from inception. They took great effort to keep me informed at each phase of the project. Since completion of the work my basement has remained dry . Based on my experience I would highly recommend hiring Advanced Basement Systems for any residential basement waterproofing work. They’re highly professional and also stays within the budget.

I had seen signs in the area for advanced basement system and spoken to the home owners who had nothing but fantastic views and opinions of the companies both professionalism, speed, and work quality. I called them to come and waterproof my basement and when the salesman came to my home he was very kind and professional just as i had herd from others. They gave me a summary of the work that needed to be done and i booked my appointment with them right away. When the installers came to my home i was amazed by both how professional and kind they were immediately. The work to my home was done in one day and they left no more mess in it than before they had came. I was amazed by how promptly they were able to do the job without sacrificing and quality of their work. It has been months now since they have been here and there have been many hard rainfalls in my area. We had Jeff Miller come to give us an estimate. We had another company do some work but our floor in one room in particular was still extremely cold. So we reached out for another quote with Advanced Basement Systems. Jeff asked me several questions and crawled under our house and did a thorough inspection. His conclusion was everything from the previous installer was done correctly and that I should contact my furnace company and check about getting two more vents put in at each end of the house. So great to hear good news, an honest person and company, no scamming for unnecessary work and no bad mouthing of the previous company. I actually felt bad about the free estimate. We had our first service check up on our three pump system, which was installed a little over one year ago. While we may have had a little hesitancy about getting the annual servicing done, I can tell you I do not regret going ahead with it. Our service technician Joel was absolutely amazing, very professional and thorough. I am thankful we did not experience any concerns since installation of our system as Joel educated me on some very simple monthly checks/maintenance activities that are intended as preventative measures to ensure maximum/ideal functioning of our system. He was very thorough and invited me to observe every aspect of his servicing. Next he completed a step by step review with me, regarding simple checks on parts of our system to ensure everything is operating as it should. Having invested a significant chunk of change to have this system installed, the small fee of $169.00 was more than worth it. I would highly recommend this annual servicing to anyone who has installed the three pump system (or any other type of installation you may have completed with Advanced Basement Systems). Bert and Tim raised my concrete driveway and stamped concrete patio after both slabs had settled over the past 4-5 years. They showed me the equipment, explained the process, and were very conscientious about where the holes were drilled. Please find a different company for your work. They broke my sump, clogged with their work debris and fried it, was only a few years old, then denied it. The mess they left for a single mom to clean up was horrific, took me weeks of cleaning at night after I put the baby down. Their concrete work looked like it was done by monkeys, I can't even lay a floor over it without spending thousands to resurface it, after this went into a cardholder dispute, the company finally agreed to replace the concrete - no thanks, I don't want you back in my home. And the kicker - their "patented system" is open, meaning all those soil gasses - radon - has free access to my home now. I should have gone with basement boss like my parents did, work was top notch, no mess, closed system, and no water. Had the inspector from basement boss to my home to inspect the horrible work and he was appalled.

I had them do my basement back a couple of months ago. It was cracked and bowing. They I stalled waterproofing and support beams. I would completely recommend them to anyone requiring basement work done. They were professional, courteous, clean and did everything promised. They ran into a snafu from the previous work done (not by them) and it was still completed in a very reasonable amount of time.

They carried out the work is a professional way and the crew doing the insulation completed the job in 4 hours.
