Finished our main floor reno with CHART last fall - you can see our photos in the gallery. After struggling to find what we wanted on the market in Waterloo, we bought an older home with the plan to do a complete reno. In 2018 we took on the most significant portion of the work - the main floor. With CHART we removed 2 load bearing walls, completely reworking the layout. Installed a gourmet kitchen, new windows, replaced a window with a glass door, re-worked an existing wood fireplace for gas logs, refinished our stairwell, new flooring... paint... the list goes on. Every interaction with CHART on the project from quote to completion felt like a partnership - the team brought their best to the table the entire way. We had a pretty solid idea of what we wanted but with CHART's help along the way, the outcome was even better than we had initially hoped for. Corey, Marley, and the entire team have integrity and won't rest until the customer is completely satisfied with the work. We'll be partnering with CHART on completing the rest of our work over the next couple of years!

Everyone makes mistakes but not everyone will own up to them. I’m thankful these guys are honest and friendly and family centric. It’s been over a year since they’ve finished our (major) project and it is amazing to me that they were able to predict the cost of such a large reno and stay within that budget. They’ve since returned multiple times to repair various things that haven’t held up as well as planned. I have no doubt they will commit to their warranty. We hired Chart to build a kitchen addition to our home and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. The process took about 3 months. They were able to remain on schedule despite very rainy weather at the start of the project. Everyday there was always a contractor at the house doing a job. We were looking for a contractor to renovate the bathroom in our first home 3 years ago and Brock was one of the few contractors who didn't blow us off for the "small job" or just ignore us altogether. I'm so thankful he had time for us because we couldn't be happier with experience. Immediately after meeting him he went to the bathroom to take measurements and my wife said she likes him and wants to hire him. Her judgment was spot on. After the bathroom they renovated the upper basement and installed new trim throughout the house; the work was excellent. We dealt mostly with Nick and he was also great. I've been told I can be quite difficult to deal with but Nick was always professional and courteous. We have a kitchen and lower basement that need to be renovated and we can't wait to work with them again. If you're thinking of hiring them, stop thinking and just sign on! You won't regret it.

This is the 3rd time CHART has done work for us. Previously they had finished our basement and done some main floor renovations. This time they did our 2nd floor, including the master bath. They put in all new hardwood flooring and new baseboards as well as door trims and hardware. Our front foyer staircase was also completely redone. We continue to use their services for several reasons: Excellent craftsman and teamwork with other trades in general, excellent planning and timetabling, and attention to detail all result in a successful result we ae proud of.

This review is way, way overdue. If we could give Chart and Project manager Jason and his team 6 stars we would. Very down to earth people that listen to what we wanted and offered great suggestions. We did a kitchen and main bathroom reno and some other extras last January of 2019. Chart kept on schedule even with some unforeseen challenges coming their way including bad weather. The trades people arrived on time and left on time and kept the site neat and tidy . They also have a lovely person on staff Amanda that helped with selecting colours for cabinets, flooring, paint etc. She removed alot of the anxiety of "are we selecting or doing the right thing?". It costs a little but worth every penny. Would we go with Chart again? Most definitely!!!

After 20+ years in our home we decided that it was time to remodel the kitchen. There was nothing specifically wrong with it, but it was dated and stuck in the 1990’s; the time had come for a change. Searching for a local company on line to help us out, we went through the reviews and were impressed by all the positive experiences by people who dealt with CHART. We also spoke to some neighbors that had work done by CHART and they also gave glowing reviews. We contacted the company and they were very confident that they could meet all our needs at our price point. Later in the week Brock Lasso came to our home for a meeting to review the kitchen and give us some ideas based on his experience. I found this to be very helpful as he made some observations that we never even considered and steered us to what I believe was a better path. We ended up choosing CHART for the renovation and we were given a schedule detailing what work was to be done, what day it would be done and by whom. Also, a breakdown of the costs and payment schedule was given, which allowed us to plan everything perfectly. The work started in January and I was a little worried about the winter weather causing damage to the home with workmen coming in and out of the snow, but the weather held, and someone came in to cover the front door, the floors and placed a floor to ceiling plastic cover to isolate the kitchen from the rest of the home. The next month or so was eventful; there was a great team of sub-contractors that helped with the choices of cabinetry, tiling, countertop and sink and I appreciate that they steered us away from some choices the were either impractical or incompatible. They were patient and made the experience enjoyable. For the actual demolition and construction, the tradesmen were top-notch. From the electrician who helped with lighting choices and positioning options, that also ran a dedicated line downstairs to the basement with minimal disturbance to the finished ceiling and walls. The carpenter explaining each step of the process including demonstrating new tools and suggestions on how to best complete future DIY projects. The perfect drywalling and painting. The excellent plumber who was quick and efficient and the outstanding tiling of floor and backsplash. Sometimes it was a little overwhelming but there was very good communication with Nick the Project Manager who was very involved and knowledgeable. If unsure about anything I just had to call or email and there was a quick response to help me out. I felt that he was fully involved in the project and not just jumping from one or more ongoing ones. Another feature that I found useful was a new app deployed on line after the start of our project that really helped out as it allowed us to track the progress of the project at any time (timeline, schedule and cost) so there were no surprises. Overall, a positive experience. By nature, the work is intrusive and disruptive to your lifestyle, but I found that the work was done very quickly, to a high standard and what I believe to be a reasonable cost, which made it more than worthwhile. I highly recommend CHART to anyone seeking any home renovations or repairs.

We had a kitchen Reno with Chart. We were a little nervous at the beginning due to some bad experiences (with another company). From start to the end, the experience was stress free! Chart are very reasonable cost wise too. Communication was excellent throughout. Any problems were explained and options given clearly as well as any potential costs. They were on schedule. The app that they use was very helpful, you can check what they are doing that day as well as any changes in costs/selections. All the people that came in to do work (plumbers, electricians, flooring, demolition, kitchen fitters, painter, etc) were courteous and tidy! I would definitely recommend Chart.
