We retained Tara Construction to do a full condo renovation for us which included kitchen cabinets, flooring, and painting. Ian was absolutely wonderful to work with. He provided good alternatives for material suppliers at a much discounted price than what we were initially looking at. He even suggested on which renos we could skip on as they would have been unnecessary! Very satisfied with the quality of work done and it was all done within budget. I've had Ian help me with various issues and upgrades around the house over the last year, and I look forward to continue working with him. Most recently, he helped with reframing and insulating two of the basement rooms, including re-paning a window, coring for a proper laundry vent, and helping with customizing a fan and under-stairs storage for the furnace room. And was incredibly helpful with the odds and ends around prepping and finishing work done for an electrical upgrade as well as sump installation. Ian is really helpful in discussing options, works incredibly hard, and is great at keeping me up-to-date about what's taken place during the day, and what the future plans are. I even had compliments from 3rd party workers about the quality of the internal framing that was done. His attention to detail is excellent, and often I discover he's handled things that I wouldn't have even thought of, like missing trim, or sealing window panes. I look forward to continuing to work with Ian while the house is (slowly) improved and upgraded. Thank you Ian!!!

We have a small condo in Marda Loop and occasionally we have some small jobs that we can't do ourselves. I contacted Ian for a quote to replace three vent covers and he made time to visit the site and provide a quote within a day. He listened to what we needed done and asked clarifying questions to indicate that he understood the scope of the job. Once the quote was received and accepted Ian was flexible in scheduling and quick to come by and complete the job.

About 5 months ago, i bought a house as my family started to grow. On budget, It needed quite a bit of renovation: The kitchen, the main bathroom and the basement bathroom. I was searching for a contractor to save the day. Ian took the responsibility for me to complete the full kitchen renovation so that me and my wife have a smooth transition from our apartment to my very first home. He is honest and on time. I have been asking for his help ever since. Ian did the full kitchen renovation then the basement washroom renovation for me. I am planning to renovate the master bathroom with him as well. Honestly, i have not went out to get another quote since him. His work ethics and workmanship is second to none. When my friends hear my experience with Ian, they get surprised because none of them had good experience in the past. They never worked with the same contractor twice. I guess, this sums up the review: Ian is someone you keep relationship for a very long time because there are very few out there like him.

Ian was great to deal with - he told me how long the work would take when he would be available. Everything happened on schedule. We are working from home but he and his crew were great at containing the mess being as unobtrusive as possible. The finished product looks great - we had some t-bar, ceiling tiles and new pot lights put in our basement as well as some drywall repaired. The price was very reasonable for how many hours of work they put in. Will definitely call Ian for my next project!

Ian removed an undermount wood beam and replaced it with a lamainated flush steel beam in my basement, March, 2017. My structural engineer inspected his work mid-way and commented that he was very skilled. He is meticulous with details and worked long hours to complete in about 2 1/2 days. Great job and I'd hire him again.

I reached out for a quote and within the day he had stopped by our house for a site visit. A couple weeks later, the job was done. Ian is efficient, incredibly responsive to questions in the lead up to the project start date and during the project, transparent about the work that's required, and was willing to put in extra effort to ensure we were satisfied. Ian did a great job with our basement reno. We went out to three contractors for quotes and he came in at the lowest so we went with him. Ian was planning to get our project started in about 3 weeks time, but some plans changed and he was able to get started about 1.5 weeks after we signed the contract. Ian was always up front about the costs of some extras we wanted, and even made recommendations for lower cost options to make sure we were happy with the end product and cost. He was very responsive to my texts and we always felt like we were a priority. He works very hard and demands the same of his subcontractors. In the end we are very happy with the end product and would recommend Ian and Tara Construction.

Ian and Usline were amazing. Ian stuck to the start date he estimated almost 2 months ahead to the day, was very professional, friendly, and adaptable. He really listened to our ideas and concerns and provided useful and professional advice to help us make important decisions. The work quality was superb, especially given our challenging 110 year old house. He walked us through the whole process ahead of time and ensured we were aware of the potential changes to scope that could come up depending on what he found once he started opening up walls. He had a great dry-waller and worked well with the other trades needed. He also connected us to a great structural engineering firm, which was needed to meet our Building permit requirements. Would hire him again in a heartbeat and he will be the first person we call for future renovations.

His construction skills were tested with several unique situations, including "less than perfect" plumbing and flooring conditions. He handled the challenges very professionally and his patience; was never-ending. He worked long hours until the day's tasks were completed to his high standard. He was reasonably priced, upfront with all costs, and stayed within the budget, offering suggestions for less costly alternatives when needed. I couldn't be happier with my gorgeous shower and updated, safer bathroom!
