Had I rated this contractor at the start and midpoint of our 3-phase concrete project I would have given them 5 stars but unfortunately it was the end of the project and the unfinished agreed upon work that brought them down to 1 star. Everything was good until the contractor lost money in the 2nd phase due to a failed pumper and decided to not return to complete the last phase of our project (in which we discussed and confirmed on several occasions that he would return). After months of calling, emailing, texting Tim the owner to find out when they would return to complete the job, I was provided fake promises. Had the owner simply told me the truth instead of leading us on for months that he would be coming week after week I would have understood or slowly accepted the reality but the lies I find unprofessional. And not fulfilling an agreed upon contract of work, in my opinion as an engineer, is also unprofessional; especially when we were willing to pay extra for them returning to complete the last phase. When looking at their website about Honesty, Reliable, Professional, Responsible, Trustworthy...I can't say that these values held true for them in our situation. Unfortunately I referred them to people before the issues arose...they can be assured that they will never get a referral nor a good rating from me again.

There were no cracks or imperfections worth noting, the slope and rounded edges all look perfect and the coloring looks great. In addition to the patio, we had a garage pad poured and it was also done well. A slight mistake was made against my specifications, but Tim owned up to it and fixed it at his cost without much delay. Overall, a positive experience. I would recommend his work to anyone I know.

Fabulously beyond expectations! We live on a greenbelt and receive tons of compliments by passersby about this work. The patio and sidewalk added living space to our yard we weren't using. South Island Decorative Concrete gave us an expansion to our home that we truly value. After a lot of research on getting quotes and ideas, we narrowed down who could and should do our project. Tim and Ryan (owners) from the start were amazing to work with. They are expert designers and know how to vision the final outcome from the beginning, from excavation, ground prep, forms, pouring, finishing, and colouring. Every step was done with precision, quality and on time. The patio is stunning with random stone look , curved border and exposed elements. Also having a walkout basement the sidewalk along the side of the house was complicated with the inconsistent elevation change. The sidewalk/steps outcome is perfect. We highly recommend South Island Concrete. Their decades of experience is clearly evident and their solutions are of the highest quality. Thank you Tim, Ryan and your teams.

Tim and his crew did excellent work at our Braeside bungalow in a very short period of time. Communication is obviously a priority for them, and they answered every question I could throw at them as a first-time home owner (and there were many). Tim worked collaboratively with not only myself, but also my neighbors to make sure everyone was on the same page with what the work scope would be, and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. His crew was polite and pleasant to have around our property while they were working, and they work hard. The weather threw them a few curveballs but they were done as fast as high quality work would allow. I will definitely be re-using them for future projects!

I needed a 30 year old brick front walk replaced and I asked several contractors for a quote for broom swept concrete. Some would only look at jpg images and not come to my home, others had issues with tree roots and the steps. Tim responded immediately and provided a written quote that day. He answered all my questions. Tim and his crew are great to deal with - courteous, prompt and very hard working. Tim is extremely easy to reach and he stuck to the quoted budget. I highly recommend.

We decided to replace our 25 year old, two-tier wood deck, it was long overdue. Contacted Tim and he was on site within a day or two to discuss options. We were scheduled during the busy construction season so we knew we had to wait. Tim was in touch throughout to update on timing. Can't say enough about his professional hard-working crews that paid attention to every detail and answered many questions throughout the process. The final product was impressive, even better than we imagined. Wish we had done it sooner. We'd highly recommend Tim without any reservation.

This morning during my daily commute to work, I was driving along 9th Avenue through Inglewood in the LHL. There was a white truck following behind me and as I slowed down to 30 km/h for the playground zone, this white truck proceeded to tailgate me. I noticed him, but continued my speed. The white truck tailgating me abruptly changed lanes into the right lane and sped up to go around me. It did not make me happy that someone would drive this way in a playground zone, but I know there are bad drivers out there so I just let this person continue on their way. Shortly after, this white truck came across a bicycle riding in his lane in front of him. The white truck driver then decided to switch lanes into the LHL (that I was traveling in) without utilizing his signal at all in order to get around this bicyclist. The problem was, I was in the LHL maintaining the posted speed and this white truck switched lanes practically into the side of my vehicle. I hit the horn to let him know I was there (some people simply do not notice or are not aware of their surroundings at all times). When this truck continued to proceed into my lane, thus causing me to slam on my brakes in order to avoid a collision - I hit the horn again so he would know that he almost caused an accident. This somehow enraged this driver of the white truck. He then pulled right in front of me in my lane and drove approximately 10 km/h just to force me to drive that slow as well. I waited for this man to grow up and get back to driving like a proper adult, but instead he decided to STOP. He came to a complete stop in the middle - and I mean THE MIDDLE of the road. (There were no stop lights/stop signs, etc where he came to a stop) This obviously forced me and other vehicles behind me to stop, but what shocked me the most was when he got out of his car, using profanity and yelling at me while walking towards my car. Picture this - I am a young girl, (young mother with a baby who any other day could have been in the vehicle with me), sitting behind the wheel with an extremely angry man walking towards my car. Other vehicles behind me were honking because they were angry about this man who decided to stop and get out of his vehicle and cause everyone else to stop what they're doing - what makes him feel so entitled?? To my relief, this man got back in his vehicle after he yelled some nasty words and he drove away. He had a logo on the window of his vehicle and thus, this is how I found his company. I am not sure who would treat any other human being that way - especially when they did nothing wrong in the first place, but it was absolutely inexcusable. I hope this isn't something this man does on a regular basis but I know I certainly would never use his company after seeing the rage this man has. Anger management would be a useful tool for this person. I just thought people should know the type of person they will be dealing with if they decide to use his company.

We had a 37 x 30’ RV pad completed by Tim and Ryan and crew. This was a very technical job as there were underground power lines and tree stumps to deal with. We also had a 33’ apron poured in front of our garage. We have compared the workmanship with many similar projects in our community and have not seen anything that matches their quality. It was on time and on budget and we could not be happier. We will post pictures once the 24’ gates are installed. I would be happy to recommend their services to anyone looking for concrete work. Tim came this winter to give me a quote, I got a 2 more quotes from different companies, the price was fair but after reading reviews and look at pictures from his website and talking to him ( down to earth guy) I decided to go with him, I think it was the right choice, his crew came and prepped everything they were quick, hard working, knowledgeable. I had two different area on my patio pad, one completely leveled, and one with a slight decline with a drain in the middle. They delivered with no problems. They came back poured the concrete, and then colored and sealed it. These guys definitely takes pride in their work and want their customers to have a good experience, they cleaned up when they were done. Everything went according to plans. Would recommend to a friend! If I ever have more concrete work I know who to call!
