Prior to giving me a quote, Leo from Patriarch went through in detail all aspects of the job. I contacted several contractors most didn’t even come to my house and provided a quote over email. Patriarch was the most professional and came in the cheapest by almost $2,000 lower than a competitor. The weather was not cooperating, But Leo went over and above to stay on schedule. The product was amazing these guys are good. No need to shop around Patriarch is the best value in Calgary, providing a perfect product.

We had a walkway that ran along the side of our house in which the pavers had settled and was sloping; so we decided to upgrade it with concrete. Three companies were asked to submit quotes. Patriarch was not the lowest, but was the only one who showed up on site to get the nuances of the job before walking us through the options and sending in a written quote. The job was beautifully done on time and with no surprises. Their care and attention to detail is what I was most impressed with. Compared with other new concrete work in my neighbourhood, this one is clearly a few cuts above. I would not hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone.

I actually found Patriarch on Facebook. I watched them for about a year, looking at the work they posted and followed the reviews. They seemed to maintain a high rating consistently. So finally it was time for me to get a patio and walkway done. Leo was fantastic to work with. He know's what he's doing along with the guys he brought. I highly, highly recommend Patriarch for all your concrete needs! I did extensive research prior and we chose Patriarch based on their Google Reviews and Instagram that showcased all of their work. Their work truly speaks for itself! I had reached out to Leo on Instagram over May long and not only did he replied back quickly, he took the time to ask questions to get a better idea of what we were looking for. We met with Leo in-person for an estimate and he was so friendly, professional and put us at ease! He took the time to explain the process and was very honest and transparent. Out of the 3 quotes we had, Patriarch was by FAR the most reasonably priced. We saved a few thousand by going with this great company! Although they are booked into mid-Aug, he was so kind to fit us in the following week. Not only that, he builds trust with his clients by showing up on time (sometimes earlier) with his team, and working efficiently. The team are all very professional and work very hard. Leo would always take the time out to explain the process and what the next steps are. Our stamped concrete patio and concrete pad for our bins is immaculate and SO well done. We recently had Patriarch Construction remove our old wooden steps and small concrete patio and replace with exposed aggregate. We were very pleased with every aspect of the job. Leo came in the spring to discuss our options, gave a reasonable quote and we booked the work for early September. Despite the many rainy days this year, Leo and his Patriarch team started the work on the promised date and completed the project in 4 days. They were meticulous in planning the work and discussing it with us - the new concrete grade matches existing concrete and slopes away from the house appropriately. They did a great job working in a very confined area, were careful not to disturb plants in the nearby garden and cleaned up the work area after each day. We would definitely recommend Patriarch for any concrete work. Leo and his crew were approachable, careful and did the job right.

We didn't know of anyone that does concrete construction, so I relied on reviews to determine which companies to get quotes from, looking for places that had a lot of reviews as well as high ratings. Patriarch was the only one that didn't have a bad review and I liked that they are a family business. We received three quotes for a concrete pour at the side of our house, which included an extension for our driveway. When Leo came over, he spent a lot of time with us and answered all of our questions. He also asked questions and we sent him our real property report so he could get a more accurate quote back to us. We weren't in a rush but he got back to us after the weekend. His quote came in the middle of the three we received, but the cost per square foot was more in line with the least expensive company, and it had the most square footage. We got the impression that he knew his stuff, had a good plan, and would do the work right. We got a start date for about a month later and Leo answered any questions we had in the meantime. Leo told us we'd have to contact Alberta One Call within two weeks of the job date, to identify where the utility lines are. This is an online process which was very simple to do, and it took about 3 days for the lines to be identified. We changed the scope of work a little bit, which Leo said wouldn't be a problem. We were replacing a bunch of grass with concrete and wanted to use some of the grass for a couple of areas in our yard. Leo and his team moved the sod to those areas with no problem and said it was good for them as well as it would be less to haul away. We're grateful they did that as it saved us having to move the sod ourselves. We were able to use the extra dirt to fill in the trench beside the concrete (that was where the wood framing was), which was perfect. Leo and his team did about 3 full days of work, which included two days of prep with framing, and several layers including rebar, gravel and dirt. They graded the slope and marked it so we could see how the concrete would end up sloping. The team (Leo, Colin, Kody, Riley) was efficient, professional, friendly and worked very hard. They communicated well with each other and were also very respectful of us in and around the work site. Leo explained what was happening if he had time and also answered questions, which was great. Our son and I were out in the backyard at one point and Colin told me that he was about to drill into the foundation, which would vibrate and be very loud, and that our son might be more comfortable further out in the yard. We ended up going inside instead, but I thanked Colin for the heads up as I really appreciated it. There was a separate company there to do the actual concrete pour. The concrete pour itself was done first thing in the morning on day 3, and clean up was done the morning of day 4. There were a few pieces of equipment left in our yard, but not a big deal. The concrete itself looks amazing! There's one small section that is dipped a little and we've noticed water pooling there, but it's really minor compared to the rest of the job. Leo made a suggestion that we might want to put our hand prints in the concrete before it fully dries, which we thought was a cool idea. We ended up finding a container which Leo filled with concrete for us, and we made hand prints separate from the big concrete pour, and we love it. I also must add that Leo was so thoughtful to bring a downspout extension on the day of the concrete pour, which he used to redirect any water that could fall through in case it were to rain before the pad completely dried. It was very much appreciated and a lovely surprise. After the work was done, this man came by and said it looks like a great job, pointing out the board in between the sidewalk and new concrete, saying it will expand and contract properly with the cold and heat. At some point, we'd like to get our garage floor and driveway fixed, and we will be contacting Patriarch for that as well. We would highly recommend using Patriarch for your concrete needs.

Patriarch ripped out our old pathway and put in a new aggregate one. It looks nice, and I appreciate Leo giving us specific details on how to maintain it. However, Leo and I discussed the steps being spaced more equally than they previously were, but it looks like the crew more or less just poured them the same as before. The crew broke the nozzle on our hose and simply put it back without saying anything, and I had to pick up about 2 dozen exposed nails. Leo got us a new hose nozzle and offered to come collect the nails, though I do feel these things shouldn’t have happened in the first place. I do appreciate Leo seeing what he could do to improve on our experience and so they will be doing a reseal for us in the spring.

A few weeks ago Patriarch built a new retaining wall and sidewalk for me. It was a pretty expensive project so it took a few years to save the money and decide how I wanted it done and by who. Overall the project went pretty smooth. In hindsight I would have discussed a few of the finer details with them more such as sidewalk elevation and step design but it turned out pretty good even without that. There was also a lot more damage done to the neighbors lawn than I expected which I will have to remediate this summer but that is also something that I should have discussed more. Overall the project went very well for the budget I had to work with and I am glad I chose them over some of the wooden retaining wall options.

We used Leo and his crew at Patriarch Construction for a concrete pad in our back yard and for a sidewalk down the side of our house connecting to our driveway. Leo was fantastic to deal with, both personable and extremely professional. He showed up on the minute he said he would, both for quoting the job and to do the work. (Free quote as well). The finish product was fantastic, we were extremely pleased with it. The project was done very quickly, Leo had the concrete truck show up exactly when he said it would. Leo used his expertise to add ideas to our project like adding some brackets into the house where they were needed to prevent cracking in some possible ground sinking areas. The quote he gave me was accurate to the dollar and it never changed before during or after the work was done. He also quoted some steps for me, which we didn’t end up doing, but it was done and seperated on the quote to make it easy to see the price of everything. I would highly recommend Leo and his crew at Patriarch Construction, to do any and all concrete work for your needs. Their timeline is on point and their work quality is great. I will be using Patriarch Construction again for our next project.

So wow. Thanks Leo We started our front step adventure with late 1970 steps with a steep grade and the scariest set of stairs no person drunk or wearing bifocals should ever attempt. We went to the home show. Called companies and finally arranged for a contractor who assured us a fix would be in hand. With a small deposit ( thank god) he proceeded to wreck what stairs we had. The guy finally stopped coming and walked away. My husband and I once burned left it for a while and searched. A good while..... ok .....it was years we lived with people coming through the garage only politicians were made to go to the front door. Finally when we both were sick of it we started looking in earnest and found Leo via homestars Leo listened ( super important) and designed a set of steps that would meet both functional and esthetics that we both wanted. Ok design is one thing andddddd execution was exactly what was designed. We now have steps that I would let my 86 year old mom up and feel confident that I can spend the money on a sexy railing to complement the stairs ( I know weird eh). Next the door and I could have a housewarming party 7 years too late. All being said Leo was responsive, excellent communicator and collaborator and we got what was promised. Awesome it is evident he takes pride in his work.

Leo and his crew were outstanding. In the space of four business days, they removed the existing 40-year old builder patio block walkway from the front steps to the city sidewalk. Then using their "Ditch Witch" and good old fashioned shovel power, they excavated for the new sidewalk. This was followed by forms and compacted gravel, re-bar and finally the concrete pour and finishing. They kept the work site clean and were very attentive to details. Overall a very professional job. I highly recommend Leo and his company for your concrete needs. All of the above work was also completed simultaneously for two other neighbors who were also very pleased with the job and the competitive pricing!
