We originally contemplated a bathroom renovation project and expanded the scope to include new staircase, hardwood flooring, crown moulding, recessed led lighting throughout and painting top to bottom. We hired Rose Building Group to renovate the main floor of our townhouse. Matthew was the contractor assigned to us when we were chosen to renovate our main floor for an episode of Property Brothers, Forever Home. It was a large project, he gutted our 70 year old house, took care of issues he found in the tear down, then took down a structural wall, bricked over a window, added a larger window, a brand new kitchen, new flooring, insulated the walls and put in new built-ins. And he did it all in just 5 weeks. As the house is an older home, he also worked with us to improve the efficiency of our HVAC system. We were not involved in the renovation, basically didn’t see anything until the big reveal, so we had to put an enormous amount of trust into our contractor. But the moment we met Matthew, our minds were put at ease. He is extremely approachable, professional and knowledgeable. You could tell he really cared about our family and thought about how to make the space work best for us. One of the many examples of this is that he spent the time to figure out a plan to get the ceiling flush, knowing how important it was to us. And his solution looks amazing! Even my most eagle-eyed friends could not find any major deficiencies in the work Matthew and his team completed. He provided us with his cell number and was quick to answer all of our questions at any time of the day. We would highly recommend Matthew and his team without any hesitation and are thankful everyday he was assigned to be our contractor on the show! We already have our next project in mind for him and his team!

We contracted Rose Building Group for a multi-room renovation this summer. The project scope including flooring, two storey staircase, framing, drywall, ceilings, doors, trim, third party cabinets, painting and electric. Matt was recommended to us by our designer, who provided a list of master contractors who she had collaborated with on previous projects. We would recommend working with Matt and will use RBG without hesitation for future work. These were the key elements of our success with RBG: - Matt provided an itemized quote and workback schedule that showed far more attention to detail than his competitors. Pricing was clearly stated with estimates provided for subcontracted trades like electricians. - The RBG crew were friendly, professional, and considerate. They arrived at 8AM exactly, worked the full day, and left the house in the best possible shape - swept, vacuumed, and hung with plastic sheets to contain dust. This was important as we were living in a basement suite during the reno. - Despite a vendor issue that delayed work for 1.5 weeks, RBG finished the project on time per the original schedule. - Work was delivered exactly on budget, except where we had expanded scope. Where we underspent, the difference was offset / returned to us. - Most importantly, the final quality of this project is outstanding. As a carpenter himself, Matt has a keen eye for detail and called out any blemishes or defects to his crew. - Post project, RBG returned to our home several times to address the little issues that get noticed once you're back in the house for a while - paint, drywall defect, a chip on a baseboard, etc. Matt had people in the house within a couple days to address these issues right away. Were are very happy with our renovation and feel fortunate that we found a partner who got us through the process on time, on budget, and with outstanding advice and personal service throughout. I would highly recommend Matt and RBG.
