My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Jim and Alex back in the late fall of 2020. We were instantly impressed with this father/son company. They listened to our ideas; were thorough in their questions; presented various solutions; and most importantly, were patient and approachable while we took our time determining what contractor we wanted to go with, along with watching the news regarding Covid-19 developments. We opted to have our two full bathrooms renovated. Our main bathroom was a fairly simple renovation, whereas our ensuite bathroom was more complicated with the removal of a jacuzzi tub and shower stall, bricking in a window, and creating a walk-in shower, along with heated floors. The Artisan crew of Alex, James and Chris, along with Marcus (electrician), Jose and Manuel (tilers), Nick (cabinetry from ‘Kitchens for Keeps’) were all impressive workers. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, always cleaned up at the end of the day, and communicated with what the next steps were. Overall, we were very impressed with Artisan. It was very sad to hear that Jim had passed away due to cancer before our project commenced, but we can tell that he had passed along his expertise to his two sons, as both are knowledgeable and professional in relation to their respective roles. Most importantly, they are nice, friendly guys that have pride in their workmanship. From the initial detailed proposal to the final payment, everything was excellent. We would highly recommend taking the time to contact Artisan Contracting for your own renovation needs.

It was a pleasure to work with Artisan Contracting, specifically Alex and his team. They were not only very professional and accommodating, they met all of our needs and gave us a wonderful final product. Renovating our entire main floor, including kitchen, laundry room, powder room, as well as removing a wall and installing new flooring throughout was a a very daunting task but Alex and the team made it as easy as they could for us each step of the way. They were always open to answering questions and provided ideas and solutions. Overall, it was a much better experience than we could have ever imagined and we sincerely recommend Artisan Contracting!

We have done two major renovations with Jim Ott and Artisan Contracting. The first was a total renovation of our kitchen and family room with some updates to the remainder of the main floor to make it all blend together perfectly. A neighbour described our main floor as "perfect family living" and "stunning". We loved it so much that we hired them back two years later to do the entire upstairs - hallway, bedrooms, and a staircase that ended up to be more complicated than anyone ever thought. Our upstairs is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect update from a family with young children to a family with tweens and a teenager. Our master suite is nicer than most hotels we've visited. Honestly, no renovation is ever easy (especially with kids in the mix)- its a lot of upheaval, dust, and often frayed nerves. We are very hands-on customers and Artisan worked with us through all the details, surprises and changes. We love our home even more than we did before because now it is truly reflects who we are.

Alex and his team did a wonderful job renovating the exterior of our home. There is a before and after picture attached to this review. They helped us with the design process and meet with us at suppliers to select materials that would work well together. Because of their extensive experience, they were able to caution us during the design phase from making choices that we would have regretted. Communication and expectations were always very clear. The team was very accommodating to changes as the job unfolded and always made sure that we had a clear understanding of the costs associated with our proposed changes and how much extra time that would add to the job. There were no surprises when the final bill arrived. Except for our changes to the scope of work, the job would have been finished on time and on budget! They took a lot of pride and care in the work that they did on our home - almost as much as we did! Each night they took extra time to ensure that the job site was cleaned up. This was something that we really appreciated as it minimized the impact not only on our property but also on the neighbour’s property as well. We would highly recommend Alex and his team to anyone looking to have work done to their home. We can’t wait to work with them again on our next project!
