Had McCann Mechanical (Brockville) repair our home furnace. We have had nothing but problems with this company. At first, the service technician quoted the replacement part to be a couple hundred dollars. It ended up being $600. Next, we booked them for the install, and I stayed home from work. They did not show up. Two days later they called saying they'd be there that day. The repair ran smoothly. Technician was pleasant. But three HOURS after he left our house, the billing person/department called harassing us to pay the bill. I calmly explained that we would be paying our bill promptly (and before next week) and just had some online banking to do. The person on the phone was very rude and started saying things like "we need to pay our people". As per usual business practice, the invoice states 30 days before there are monthly interest charges. We would never use this company again.
I called McCann Mechanical when one of the boilers in a multi-family building was presenting with an issue. Kevin showed up within the hour and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, quickly diagnosing the problem. Thanks again, your excellent service was greatly appreciated!

After my Frigidaire Gallery stopped working in its first year, Frigidaire's customer service directed me to another local business for warranty repair. When I did, they advised me they were too busy to help me and to try McCann Mechanical. I'm SO glad they pointed me to you guys! McCann Mechanical's customer service was seriously, something amazing! When I called I actually got a LIVE person on the other end of the phone and not voice mail! The woman I spoke to was absolutely wonderful and took all of my information and promised to call me right back. She not only kept her promise but also sent out a technician to help me within minutes of my initial call! The technician and her apprentice were courteous, experienced (discovered the problem right away) and efficient in resolving the issue quickly! IMO, don't waste your time with other businesses who are too busy to help with your residential service call (especially if you live in a remote location like I do)... Call McCann Mechanical in Brockville who do great work and actually care about their customers!!
Had a few work orders from GE appliance when my GE profile range needed repair service. Allen was very courteous, intelligent, as well as a swift & zealous worker. The other tech guy was nice & honest. The tech guys are great here! Thank you!
I've had McCann Mechanical as my HVAC for over six years. They've always given me competitive pricing on our furnace and they couple that with the best installers and service people in the industry. I recommend them often.
Update, it gets worse. Dryer not working only 4 months after their repair. They only warranty work for 90 days. Terrible service. Terrible work. Not great. Needed the thermostat replaced on my dryer. I already did the initial troubleshooting and opened up the dryer so that the parts could be accessed. It still took the technician over an hour to complete the job. I could have replaced the part and put the dryer back together faster and not had a leftover screw when I was done (yes, he left with an extra screw still sitting out).
Return customer to McCann. Called two days before and discussed our repair issue. Call center took down all information and said they would get back to me when tech available. Called back again this morning, and it was as if I never called to be told first available tech is out until another week! Decided to go with another appliance repair.

Great service, came day of to fix our fridge
After contacting the company about an issue with my appliance they were here in a reasonable amount of time. The person called to confirm I would be home as I was told they would. The gentleman was polite and informative. He was thorough in his walk through of the issue. He told me my options and cost of repairs and gave me his recommendation. I appreciated his patience with all of my questions and he even took the time to listen when my very curious son asked about how things were going. I will definitely call them again should I need them!
Very good response time. I use them for both our principal residence and rentals. Whether it's an appliance or it's the heating / cooling, the work is done well.
Would not recommend. After giving clear instructions on what we needed, (we had already installed the bathroom exhaust fan, we were just needing the vent piping we purchased to be attached to the exhaust fan in the attic, and vented out of the soffit) they scheduled the wrong technician. On follow up, they were unable to get "the right" people out to work on it for another week. A week later, the tech arrives and says "Uh, yeah, I was under the impression that this was all opened up here and I need a guy who can do it, so how's monday sound?" Normally, I wouldn't sweat it, but in reflecting on how clearly and effectively we were communicating, versus the information that was being relayed I knew that the problem wasn't with us. Despite my telling the guy we'd go with another company, my wife talked me into giving them another try. To say that the bill was an eye opener would be an understatement, especially when considering how much was charged to do so little. I used to work in trades, and I can say that this worksmanship is lazy, subpar, and makes me wonder what kind of job they've done in the attic if the soffit vent is anything to go by. The part I don't understand, is that we pay for contractors to do this so that the job looks nice when its done. Nice and professional. If I wanted the end result to look the way it did, I'd have done it myself and would not have wasted nearly three hundred dollars in the process. Disgraceful. 1/10 would not recommend.

Boshe countertop stove top stopped working. Warranty for the unit went to McCann. They finally came after 5pm. Parts ordered. No response from them. Called parts were approved for service. Called again and parts sitting there, but another 2 weeks for install. Now it has been since the beginning of September and now it's the 3rd week in November. Now is this a company that you want for a repair? Heard all the right reasons, approval, parts, booking, all came with a vague response from the appliance repair section. "I'll check and get right back to you " Call came from the warranty company, not from Mccann, now that's passing the buck. I'm sure the hydronic heating system will be taken care of by another company-just imagine having to wait 6 weeks without heat. Oh we can use the hotplate for a heat source. Yes the movie line comes to mind. "Run Forest Run" when picking this company. J Godan The appliance repair person did get it fixed yesterday. Though once again he had to be reminded to remove his dirty wet work boots. Now this falls on the owner's of this company. Supply the staff with boot covers. Every other company, workers seem to have slip on protectors. Just another example of how much they care for ones newly finished home.

One of the worst repair company we have dealt with and are usually extremely understanding with what challenges can come with operating a business. Wonder how they can still stay in operation. After LG appliance canada made a booking appointment on our behalf and a 3 weeks waiting period, we called the day of the scheduled visit and were confirmed by the clerk at McCann to expect a repair technician by late morning. Once we had not receive the visit by early afternoon, we called back and the same clerk whom answered the call mentioned that we were actually not booked and she had to confess to us that she had not bother to look at her booking sheets although we did ask her to confirm earlier in the day. Another week went by for a technician conduct the repair visit and confirmed that the compressor of our our 2.5 year old fridge was faulty and had to be replaced. The compressor is still under warranty but we had to disburse the basic rate for a service call (approx 225 dollars) Another 2 weeks goes by to order the part and to rebook a visit and only to be let down once again the morning of where the technician called sick and now back of the line once again which McCann are telling us the ealiest appointment available is now mid-january 2021. 6 weeks without a fridge and potentially looking at 2 months 1/2 turnaround time for repair is above and beyond what i would consider this an inconvenience , and even after all this there is no guarantee that someone will not call sick again or even bother not to show up once again. I am disappointed that this site does not allow me to rate this company as a big "0". I strongly suggest that anyone who need an appliance to be fixed is to stay away from this repair shop in order to save yourself some time and frustration. Once again I am dumbfounded that this business still operate.

I was referred to this business through my refrigerator company. Made an appointment, online, which mccann kept. Called and spoke to Sarah, several times, to make a request or ask a question, to which she was very patient and informative. Refrigerator Tech came out on the schedule day and fixed the problem quickly! Has been good ever since. Thank you mccann electric. I recommend this company.

LG needs to find another company for service in this area. My 6 month old washer has not worked reliably in over a month. After calling LG I waited patiently for a call from McCann which never came so I called them. They said they hadn't received the request. Called LG again, waited patiently. Called McCann again; said they didn't get a service request. Called LG again and asked if there was any other company that could provide service since we live as close to Kingston as Brockville. They said only McCann. LG Supervisor was supposed to follow up to make sure it was received; no response from anybody. 4th call to LG and they said McCann said they don't service my area. Most days when I called McCann the phone was not answered. I left a message once that was not returned. When I did speak to them they did not tell me I was out of their service area. I am frustrated with both LG and McCann but unlike another reviewer with a similar LG story at least I don't have to have my service done by them.

So another update , Fridge is not working properly again so called Whirlpool as it is under warranty still and Mccaan refused the service call, they wont even fix their own repair they made. Wow Stay away from this company bad service bad work and just bad skills all around . Owner also is extremely rude . How is this company still in business ??????? Just an update on the fridge . Thank you Mccaan for returning the fridge dirty , I asked kindly for you to wipe it out since you took it and did not return before closing of the park and trailer , So the fridge has sat closed and dirty since last September, once again you did not keep your word like you said you were , fridge will be detailed by 1000 island rv . Stay away from this company as they are terrible , this wil probably result in another rude phone call from the owner as I said I would take down the review if he fulfilled his obligations , he did not so hence why I am adding a second review and update . Will also have a chat with Whirlpool customer service also. They say the fridge is fixed , that will be determined shortly. Yes trailer went into storage after you didn’t not follow with what you promised, which was to return it prior to closing , now you keep us waiting as the fridge is no longer in use ??? It is not in use as it was not working for weeks , and you can continue the repair process that you started !!!! We want to find out how long this will take !!! How many months-3-4 ?? As it is almost 2 now. I have contacted the manufacturer and they also agree that this repair has continued far too long but Their attempts to contact you to discuss this has been met with silence. If you have an issue with this reveiw feel free to reach out and call as this is not your companies practice. Terrible service from day one , been fixing a fridge for over 6 weeks ,this is a new fridge under warranty, first it was the compressor, then it’s the evaporator now it’s a leak , they took it 3 weeks ago saying it will be back in 2 days , finally got ahold of them to ask what is going on. Told tech looking for a leak . 3 weeks to look for a leak ?? And they still have the fridge , don’t not use for appliance repair !!!
You'll find out quickly what kind of a company you're dealing with in an emergency and I'll vouch for McCann Mechanical anytime! We ran out of propane because of poor service from our provider (nameless because that's not my point). We got home from work to a house at 13 degrees. Made an emergency call to our propane provider at 5:30 and were promised a call back. After 6 more calls we finally heard from someone at midnight and a guy showed up 30 mins. later with a temporary tank to hook us up so we had heat (it's now -22 out and windy). Hooked up and it appeared the furnace started but soon after I discovered it was out. We called for another emergency visit then ran as many electric heaters as we could gather from friends overnight to save our home as the temperature dipped to -26. No call by 8am so I called McCann out of desperation. At 10am the owner Kevin showed up, got us going again and asked to be notified when we actually got a delivery of fuel. We got fuel at 1pm and he returned to clean our water heater up, which was coughing out soot from starving for fuel...still no call from the emergency tech for our provider! We had heat till 7pm when apparently the regulator on our outdoor tank froze up from condensation, again the result of running out. No call yet from the tech yet so called Kevin and he returned. Over the next few hours and into the next morning he diagnosed the frozen regulator, went and got one, returned to install it and got us reliable heat by 10 am Sunday. I've read the reviews and it seems the only bad ones could have happened to any company trying to repair old appliances, you'd have your successes and you'd have your failures. I can tell you for certain that these people care about their customers and go to great lengths to see that their needs are met. That's all I can ask.
