I don't write reviews... ever! But this time I had to. I had repairs done to my roof by Joel and his expert team at Straight Arrow Roofing after a wind storm took-off a chunk of shingles. From the time I called his office, the communication was quick and courteous. The workers arrived the next day and completed the work efficiently and with quality workmanship. While they were on my roof, they identified a deficiency left by the previous contractor and fixed it without any extra cost. They showed me before and after pictures and I was more than satisfied with their work. Their attention to detail and courteous demeanor were very much appreciated. They cleaned-up all the old shingles and nails, leaving my property clean, as if they had never been there. Great work gentlemen - When I need a full roof replacement, you will be my only call!

Our roof is 9 years old and was done by a different company other then Straight Arrow Roofing . I wish i would have had Straight Arrow Roofing do our roof. Joel did a great job fixing our roof. Called Joel after a windstorm damaged some of our shingles. He came over as promised and inspected the damage and the shape of the rest of our roof. He is very honest and did not try to sell us a whole roof. He said that the roof was still in good condition and he could fix what was damaged and there would be no need to redo the entire roof. We agreed to have it fixed upon his recommendation. Joel came back and repaired the damage along with taking care of some other problems from the previous installers work. I would recommend Straight Arrow Roofing to anyone who wants excellent quality work.

Stop! If you need a roof this is the company hands down. I am a contractor and used many roofers in my day and no one compares. They came and replaced my personal roof and did an amazing job, not only was it inspected afterword by the crew, the owner came by and double checked every single inch and did another magnet sweep and normal sweep around the entire property. Joel is educated and very knowledgeable about roofing systems. He is able to point out potential problems in a roofs structure to his customers before they happen. Impressed with his crew and their workmanship and attention to detail. They looked professional in their black hoodies displaying the company logo. Its is impressive to see roofing companies evolve and use the latest computer technology to measure pitch of the roof, and take before and after photos to assist the customer .Up until now I never thought I would hear of a 40 -50 year roof. Straight Arrow Roofing just completed my roof on February 28th, 2018. The owner, Joel was professional, informative and provided great communication through out the process. He uses the best materials, personally ensures the smallest of details are attended to and was outstanding at keeping me informed throughout the process. The gardens and sidewalks were cleaned by his team at the end of each day. When the roof was complete, Joel sat down with me, explained the warranty and shared pictures of the roof through out the process. The quote was exactly the amount I paid. Before choosing Joel, I reviewed the previous comments and confirm that they were all accurate. I have recommended Joel to all my neighbours and expect to see lots of him this summer. I had an urgent situation which I needed advice about. I talked to Joel and had an appointment set up. He was a no show. No text, no phone call. Since the reviews were very favourable and I know that sometimes things happen, I called him and we set up another appointment. Exact same experience. No show. No phone call. No text message. I lost two days waiting for someone who never even got back to me. I contacted another Brantford roofing company with comparable reviews and the owner came exactly when he said he would. Although the work is not yet done, it was evident that he is trying to save me money.

Although my property is in Kitchener ,I selected Joel to handle my roofing job.I suspected we could be in for a challenge ,as the building dates to 1927 and has had many owners in that time.Suspicions were verified when Joel called to inform me of not 1 but 3 extra layers of Shingles ,and Cedar Shake that now needed removing .In most cases ,this would have been a deal breaker ,but Joel and his boys toiled through 3 days of heat ,and challenges ,I was very impressed.I would not hesitate to recommend Straight Arrow Roofing ,thanks Joel and Crew!

I don't normally take the time to leave reviews, but for Straight Arrow Roofing, I really felt the need to share my experience. I recently called around looking for help cleaning and repairing my eaves-troughs. I know cleaning troughs would be considered a "small job", and certainly not urgent.. but when I called Straight Arrow Roofing, I was treated like a VIP customer. I spoke with the owner, Joel. He was able to quote the job right over the phone, just by checking Google Earth. That saved me having to be home for both the quote, and the actual repair job. I was SUPER surprised to get a call from the Straight Arrow crew the very next day, ready to do the cleaning and repair. The entire crew was professional and courteous. They cleaned and repaired my troughs, quickly (which one would expect), but these guys left my house and property cleaner than when they came. Gone were the pine needles that always overflowed from my troughs. If that was the last time I saw Straight Arrow, I would have been more than satisfied. What really blew my mind was a few days later, Joel actually came to my house to review his teams work, and make sure I was happy with their service. I mean, they cleaned my troughs... a small job... and here the owner of the business was at my house making sure I was happy with the work his team did. Honestly, at a time when customer service seems to be a thing of the past, Joel and his team at Straight Arrow Roofing truly exceeds expectations in quality and integrity. STRAIGHT ARROW ROOFING - First off, I don't take calling out a business lightly. No one is perfect and all attempts should be made to remedy a bad situation in private. However, I tried for almost a year to have this resolved and in light of my experience, I need to warn anyone here who has used Straight Arrow Roofing in the recent past. I picked Straight Arrow Roofing to do my roof back in September 2019 because Joel Guerra (owner) came across as professional and explained all of the critical little details that a lot of other roofers may not pay attention to. He came with good reviews, was also a certified GAF Shingle installer and his quote was in line with well-known roofers in the area. I had some initial concerns that the shingles hadn't settled down flat once the job was complete but Joel reassured me that this would occur in a few days, although they never fully did. This past winter I noticed a leak in my soffit and contacted Joel. Upon further inspection I noticed that there were a large number of low/crooked nails popping up the shingles in other parts of the roof that needed to be addressed. Joel assured me many times that he would have it corrected, but days turned into weeks and then months. I accommodated his busy schedule and let him pick a time that worked best for him but unfortunately, he strung me along for the better part of a year and dismissed the popped shingles as "normal". I didn't understand the severity of the problem until late-summer when I inspected the attic and found evidence of staining and small leaks in multiple places. The first snowfall this year confirmed the leaks again with some drywall staining, wet insulation and roof deck staining in the attic. Since then, I have heard almost nothing back from Joel. He inactivated his business in July of this year, but continued to take on new work while failing to address the defects his crew caused. The majority of the roof was installed poorly - hundreds of nails are crooked and popping up through the shingles causing leaks. I am out $10K and there is nothing that can be done to fix this roof - it has to be torn out and replaced. I have never seen a nailing job that bad. Had I known he had no intention of fixing the issues, I would have hired someone else to replace the roof before the winter. Now it's too late and I had to take some temporary measures to prevent further damage to my home for the winter. As you can see in the pictures, I have had to patch hundreds of shingles over the past week - nails are either low, or crooked and cutting through the top of the shingle. His crew also proceeded to shingle over a vent opening and the shingles are visibly sagging through that opening. So, if you have recently had Straight Arrow Roofing, please get up on the roof and inspect the work! I understand things happen and I was very accommodating, but at the end of the day a business should not only be measured by the good work they do, but how issues - which inevitably will come up - are dealt with. In my case I drew the short straw and am out almost $10K plus another brand-new roof that I will need to put up next year. My disappointment with Joel Guerra @ Straight Arrow Roofing is an understatement to say the least.

Heard lots of good things about Straight Arrow. I decided not to use them because the quote was high and the response time was very slow to hear back from them. I had to follow up several times before I finally got my high quote... If you say you are going to follow up with someone by a certain day...do it... Customer Service is everything.......I have a feeling they have enough work to keep them busy for the summer and maybe didn't care for my job. Wish they could have told me up front though.
