My experience with Fence and Deck Man was initially quite good. Mike seemed like a presentable guy with a large company. However, the job was supposed to take 3-4 days, and it ended up taking 3 weeks due to his workers being very slow on the job. After the job was completed, I noticed that the workers left a lot of junk from the build in my backyard(wooden stakes, bags of concrete, rakes, etc)! I gave them a few days to come and pick it up, but no one came. I contacted Mike on the 4th day after the build, and he said he was going to get the junk that day, and no one came. I called him again yesterday and he said he was going to pick it up again, but AGAIN no one came. I've taken pictures of the junk they've left in my yard. I've also asked him to fix a fence board that is coming off the fence already because it only has ONE nail holding it up (see picture below). This company is not reliable.

Mike was very efficient with the quoting process. I found them to be reasonably priced compared to other companies in the area. Being a large, reputable company, Fence and Deck Man was the obvious choice for my fence and deck project. Responses throughout the course for the project were great; all questions and concerns were addressed in a timely manor. Weather was a bit of a factor, but jobs were completed within a respectable time frame. A few issues did arise, naturally, with any project; and Mike was quick to resolve any concerns. Overall, the quality of their work speaks for itself. I am happy with the end result and look forward to many more projects in the future with Mike and team.

Left a huge mess in my garden. A year later I am still cleaning up their mess! Two sections are 10” above the ground,which made a huge gap and a hole between the end of the dance and the ground. Call the company to come and fix it, but that never happened!!!The owner blamed me for not having my ground leveled , which is not TRUE!! Had to hire somebody else to fix their mistakes! Would NOT RECOMMEND THIS CONTRACTOR!!!

We had our deck and fence done April 2021. Upon completion we noticed some imperfections. 1/4” gap between 2 deck boards, missing post caps, fence boards not installed properly, fence boards that need replacing due to poor quality, deck board broken due to the screw. I contacted Mike on numerous occasions and his response was always “someone will be there to fix it”. To this day, no one has ever showed up. No show, no call. Mike even had the nerve to say that my issues are not urgent. My point is, we paid money to have a job done correctly. The job was not done correctly. I have not heard anything from Mike since. My advice for anyone who decides to go with this company. Do not pay in full until you are 100% satisfied with the job. It’s obvious, that once Mike has collected his money, he doesn’t care about the customer anymore. There is supposed to be a 2 year warranty on workmanship. This is BS. I can’t even get them to fix some minor things. Not professional at all. Terrible customer service!!

We had these wonderful guys build a deck on the front of our house. They were fast to come give us a quote and even faster to set up a date to build our deck. They were fast, friendly, and did what we wanted. They cleaned up the area really well and were great with my toddler showing him the tools. Would definitely hire them again.

Mike was the first to come out as soon as I messaged him, and followed up repeatedly. With the price of lumber continuously going up, he guaranteed my price for three weeks, and with a small deposit, ordered my lumber so I wouldn't be affected by any more increases. I had a budget after all and one neighbor who refused to split or contribute. Crew arrived mid May, and now I have a gorgeous, privacy fence with 6x6 posts .

Had these guys replace a chain link and extend a fence on the other side with some gates. Fence looks great and the guys that did the work were very friendly and got it done quickly. Not much to cleanup after they were done other than rake up some dirt from the posts they dug up. Overall we are pleased with what we got and feel that the price was fair. I'd hire these guys again. Would recommend (and already have!)

I spent weeks calling fencing companies in the spring to quote me on a fence and post replacement. Very friendly local people and used materials from Home Hardware a great Canadian company. They did an excellent job and cleanup. I'd recommend them to anyone. Once the work is finished and you pay them good luck trying to get them back for repairs. My paved driveway cracked in 1st couple of months. I left 6 messages and no one has called me back or come to see the damage.

This project was a fiasco from the word go. Unfortunately we did not have grading certificates at the time we originally wanted to start. The company was also unaware this was necessary so we hit a wall. The day we were put on hold, the person working was irate. There was a lot of bad mouthing our builder and a lot of damage to the grass of some of our neighbors. So... Project went on hold. Once the start date came we were excited to begin. During the project the owner talked badly about 2 of my neighbors who I am friends with. Super unprofessional in my opinion. He also charged $250.00 extra for rock removal and I still have piles of rocks and dirt by each post hole weeks later. The pictures on his site are not representative of the work he does. There was also damage to our grass from where they stored their wood during the project pause. He said he would fix it, and did fix it for one neighbour but not me. Huge dead spot in my sod. To top it all off, I had a section where three of the boards were too short. Like the three boards in front were the right size but the ones behind in the same spot were too short. He then told me this was a "grading issue". I asked him to come chat with me about it and he wasn't on site. He sent one of his guys over, Jeff. Jeff took one look and knew the boards were too short as I said. He was polite, quick, and efficient in correcting the issue - which had nothing to do with grading. There are some pretty massive gaps under parts of the fence that should be lower that I am going to have to fill. Thank goodness I don't have small dogs or they would definitely be able to escape. While I am glad I have a fence I would NEVER use the company again. The guys working for the owner were the only saving grace. Nice, polite, and respectful.

Once the 12x14 deck was started it took almost 3 months to get them to finish it. On several occasions I was told that someone would be coming by and no one showed. Some of the boards are cracked and were supposed to be replaced but I never heard back.

He was able to get us in, in a timely manner and his team showed up every morning rain or shine. Anytime I had a question, Mike was always available to answer them. Had the fence knocked out in 3 days. His crew is amazing and kept it going even in 30 degree weather. Would recommend them to anyone for fence and deck work. 10 stars in my opinion.

Fence and Deck Man built 8 decks at our condo complex last year and 4 decks this year. Decks are well built and look great. Some minor issues with the first build and partly out of their control, but all have been resolved and Mike worked hard to make sure we were satisfied. This years build was right on schedule, completed quickly and great quality work. His crew was friendly, diligent and did a good clean up of the work site when done. Any outstanding items were corrected immediately. We look forward to working with Mike and his team again next year for the remaining decks.
