went in to a key fixed on my mac and now there is this MEADIAcare Client on my computer and its not letting me get rid of it
Absolutely terrible! I'd give them less than 1 star if I could! Every experience there has made me feel scammed and every experience I've heard from friends and family has been the same EG - sold last year's computer model at this year's price (AND told it was this year's model), sold an expensive 1TB external hardrive that completely died after 6 months and the store refused to do anything about it basically saying tough luck, tried to replace a damaged iPhone with the full purchased extra warranty and told it wasn't covered but took my phone / warranty to another store in van and replaced no problem, etc etc etc.
Panicked about my iphone soaking in coffee and had great service from these mac people. Got a replacement phone for the time being. Thanks!

Not at all pleased by the fact that >$400 was charged to my credit card 3-4 days AFTER returning a phone they loaned to me (which I took painstakingly good care of), stating the reason was that it was 'bent' and thus the lock button could not be initiated..... am really quite vexed.
I have used MEADIA Solutions now for 15 plus years when passing thru and visiting Whitehorse on business and pleasure. Trevor and his staff have excellent customer service and great knowledge about all of the Apple products and accessories. The prices are right in line with major cities on all of the products which is great for being up north. I would highly reccomend this place for all things Apple for personal use and business. Top knotch!
Went there to see if they had a plug in cord for my 2002 Apple laptop and the main guy, the owner I'm assuming. Said he had 5 of them. Waited my turn in line then the young man went to the back to see if he could find them, came back with no luck, so then I heard the owner scold his employee with the were about a of the cords. When I as the young man how much his boss, blurted out $50 bucks. Just for the bottom half of the connection. Then the young man tried plugging it in and couldn't, said the old piece was Jammed in their, that the tecnition may have to look at it. I asked once again for how much, once again the boss blurted out $30-$50 bucks. I was so blown away, again by the terrible service and the blurting mosey boss, I said I would think about it and get back to them. Leaving there baffled about the price of the cord that is 15 years old and the price of pulling out a stuck pin. Worst service EVER and way over priced, you will never see me in their again and I ordered my cord off eBay for $12.50 cents. Now that price make sense for a 15 year old cord not $50 bucks boss man.
MEADIAsolutions does everything it can to help you with your most sensitive tech issues, “devices”-we love them so much and we invest in and save our most precious digital memories and assets like photos or writing! Trevor’s business is honest if it’s not a good diagnosis is not a good diagnosis there’s no way getting around it! Like my poor old broken iMac screen that Apple no longer makes parts for! Guess I better save up for a new one. Final advice from them: above all things back up your stuff! Get that external hard drive doing regular back ups as you never know what can happen with your tech!
I took my computer in to be serviced for some issues. They said they would call me when my ticket came to the top of the list, in order to reduce my time without my computer. They never called and when I came in (in person over a week later) they said "oh. you weren't on the list we were looking at." After having my computer for a week, they called with my options to fix the computer. My options were to replace entire portions of my computer since they couldn't find the specific issues. Finding these options too expensive, I said no and that I would be in that afternoon to pick up my computer. When I arrived, my computer wasn't put back together yet. It was covered in dust, had a new chip in the casing and one of the issues was actually worse than before I brought it in. So after fixing absolutely nothing, they charged me over $100 for "diagnostics." I will never use this business again, which means only online since whse doesn't have many Mac retailers.
Wasn't informed via email that a factory reset that takes 10 minutes would end up costing me 40$, ended up having no choice but to spend the ridiculous price.
I would avoid if you can. They refused to listen to me and claimed they fixed it - they did not. I am now getting it fixed in another city as I expressed the importance of my computer for school.

Pretty frustrated with Meadiasolutions. Had a time sensitive and costly repair for a laptop. I asked for the part to be ordered, and it took them a week to actually order the part. When I asked why the part was not ordered when I requested, they ignored my multiple emails and phone calls. When I went in, they had no record of my emails, though they did respond to one not related to the issue. Since email is the main way they choose to communicate, this is pretty disappointing, moreso by the only company that is authorized by #apple in the Yukon. Too bad I guess. The fix was complete, at full price, guess I should be lucky? Very bad customer support IMO. Thanks for the response Trevor. The computer was checked in, the diagnostics were complete (a bad screen was the problem) and internals were assessed. I’m a bit concerned that there are no store records of my computer being there for two weeks, so I assume this is a miscommunication. The tech informed me of the situation on the phone the same week I dropped it off and he said he could order the part the next morning once I confirmed the repair. I responded to the email communication to order the part immediately after phone call. The part wasn’t ordered until I followed up 7 days later, so I’m guessing my message was lost or maybe not read. I sent, via email the messages confirming these conversations. I was not able to find them when I was in the store. The repair was a laptop screen replacement, not a battery replacement. Further, it took over two weeks to complete the order after I dropped off the computer. One week was lost to miscommunication and the part not being ordered.
I went into the store with low expectations, expecting the stereotypical apple experience where I question humanity. I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff, one Trevor (I think) and another named Florian. Very friendly, polite, accommodating, and helped me find parts I needed to repair 2 old iMacs. I was genuinely impressed with the service. Enough so, that I will be going back in the future. It's not often I feel obligated to write a positive review. MEADIAsolutions is one of the few places where my expectations were exceeded and I left feeling appreciated, not just as someone who will pay them appreciated for my financial but as client they wanted to have in the future. I would recommend them. Definitely an above average customer service experience.

Fake apple store, money eaters.
My 2012 MacBooks processor crapped out on me. I had photos and files on the hard drive that needed to be retrieved. Trevor and his team problem solved the issue and communicated well with me. I know a thing or two about tinkering with MacBooks and felt respected and taken seriously, and not talked down to. Trevor even let me tinker on my replacement computer myself! Great service, and their text/email service notifies you when your items are ready. The place looked clean and organized and everyone was friendly.

The customer service was friendly and helpful, however, I do have a complaint. My first gripe is that because the internet happened to be down at the time, I couldn't deactivate find my iPhone ( which is apparently necessary for repairs), so the employee that helped me asked for my password. I find this particularly unprofessional and it's a shame that they would even have to ask. A second complaint is this, when I went into the store earlier in the week and inquired about a new battery, I was quoted 35$ for the repair, I made an appointment and left. I returned at the scheduled time and dropped my phone off at the store. When I returned to pick up the phone, I was informed that the repair would in fact cost me just over 70$. I asked why the price changed and I was told that the battery was 35$ and the parts and labor was the other 35$ or so. Left with little choice, I paid, took my phone, and left. All in all, I had a pleasant exchange with the employees but please, be up front with your customers and tell them what they're really going to be paying. Hiding that until the last minute is just shady, and because of that you've lost my future business.
Excellent, organized, fast, friendly service. I am extremely confident in their expertise. I contacted Apple for a potential battery recall and they advised me to take my laptop to Meadia Solutions. I booked my appointment online through the Apple website and was told it would take 1 - 2 weeks to service my laptop. All good and an easy process. Even better, is that it was ready the day after I brought in the laptop! Furthermore, Connor, one of the specialists, made some other repairs I had mentioned to him, free of charge. Completely unexpected! It's great to save money, of course, but the gesture goes a long way to demonstrate that Trevor, Connor and the rest of the team truly care about the customer experience. And, even if you don't have a computer issue or are looking to purchase a computer, you may want to stop in to say hello to the cutest security dogs I've ever met, Pixel and Nacho. They will definitely make your day.

Worst experience ever to the store, my mac book stopped working i contact apple and they book repair to this store, i dropped my macbook 1 week ago at time of my macbook drop off lady from front desk told me that they will contact there customers. I wait for few days then i try to contact them. First day i tried to call for 3 tikes no answer i left vm, next day 10 or more times i tried again no answer, i kept on trying for few days and i called so many time and then i emailed them too. No response. Finally i went there ask about whats going on and owner told me that tech is not vacation and they do not have time to respond and not have time to listen to vm either. No time to attend calls. Wow, this is there customer service. I told them that i need my laptop back then they told me that they will charge me 175 and put my service to priority, like i was shocked. If you do not have to attend calls and do service, how you have time to do priority???? Useless service, and poor customer service. I will complain to higher authorities. Useless store in town. This record is under Harpreet kaur I did not pay $50 because your debit machine was broken

I am very happy with the assistance from Trevor and the team. My computer died and they helped me replace it before I was traveling overseas. They stayed very late and had my beautiful Mac Air up and running so I could have it when I flew to Europe and then to Africa the next day. Thank you so much, I love my new rose gold laptop!!!

My son went swimming with his iPhone on vacation. Once back in Whitehorse, we stopped by MeadiaSolutions to see if it could be salvaged. Even though they close early on Mondays for training, Trevor welcomed us, checked out the phone and because we are from out of town, had a discounted replacement ready by 4pm. I took my macbook pro 15in in for service as I was having issues.800.00 later,new battery,solidstate drive,and new OS.I am from out of town and when I got it home I had issues right away.Attempted to contact 4x via email and phone,finally 2 weeks later I got an email from Trevor the owner saying to book a remote appointment.Did this and appointment date came and went...no contact from store.Appointment was confirmed by them via email.2 weeks later and I still have not heard from them.Typical service in the north.The only game in town so they can provide terrible service and remain in business.Thanks very much Trevor
