I phoned techrx up this morning and got a quote or $170 for a screen for a iPhone xr. I am sick and can't go myself and my father-in-law lives close to techrx. My father in-law went in and dropped the phone off and said that he was dropping a phone off for me and had been quoted 170 for screen replacement. When he picked up the phone the bill was 257 including tax. When I phoned them back they said they had 3 levels of quality of screen- that wasn't told to me on the original phone call. They had just stalled their 'good quality oem screen'. I complained ha d he said he usually quotes 3 different levels of screen. He definitely didn't with me this morning. I would have waited and gone to my usual guy in vancouver if I had been quoted such a steep price. This seemed steep so I phoned the regular place I usually go in Vamcouver and have gone for 4 years with very good work and good quality screens. He said an oem screen would have been 140 from him and this is the best quality. I am really not happy with the misleading marketing. The excuse was Apple charges more. That is like saying the Mercedes dealership charges more than a regular mechanic. Blindly obvious. That's why people go after market. An Apple oem screen replacement is $259! Amd I got charged 257 for aftermarket screen. That price is ridiculous

Nice folks working here. I needed my charger port changed and they did it within a half hour. I saw the price was $40 on their site to get a charger port changed for a Samsung Galaxy s4, but when I was about to pay I was told it was $80. I pointed out they had a different price on their website. The site wasn't updated apparently... but I paid the $40 (plus tax duh) which was very nice of the guy helping me out. I say they are a great place to go to. Great people, good work... but I find $80 is a lot for and old phone to get a lil fix up. Bit pricey

Bought a used phone for my daughter, and fixed 3 iPhone screens and an iPad screen. Each repair less than a hour? (20 min on average) Quick and professional and very knowledgeable. On one of my repairs there seemed to be an abnormal after affect of dropping it face down on its screen...(go figure). Anyways, these guys were very patient to make sure that all issues were rectified in a timely matter. Thanks for great work.

Rather than buy a new laptop I brought my old HP in for an upgrade to Windows 10 and refurbish. Mark made sure I knew exactly what they would do, if they could do it, and the exact amount it would cost and how much I would be saving as opposed to buying a new one. These guys (Mark and Zack) are fantastic. They know what they are doing and they treat each customer as an equal. I was new to Windows 10 and Mark took the time to walk me through my 'new' computer. This was first time there and I was quite impressed. I took my whole laptop apart to clean out my fans and have a look at the charging port as it wasn't working its best. I realize the charging port was broken ink came to TechRX to see if I could buy a charging port. I decided to just let them do it as I was running short on time. the charging port work perfectly but I guess I left unknowingly left speaker unplugged when I had taken it apart.I called them and said hey my speaker isn't working and they said bring it in I brought it in and they had realized that I hadn't plug a speaker cord back in and they promptly fixed it for me without charge even though I offered them money.

When I needed a used laptop for occasional use, I was offered one with cosmetic damage at an extremely attractive price. It came with Windows 10 and was noticeable faster than my home PC. That got me thinking that maybe I needed a PC memory upgrade, and that was provided again at a very attractive price. My PC is now much more efficient. These guys Obliterate Apple. I brought a iPhone 6 unable to connect to WiFi / cellular, Chris fixed the WiFi but not the cellular, he simply sent me on my way with the original parts. He ripped my phone apart in 1-2 minutes! These guys are Brainiacs. Ended up having to go to apple for a replacement though. PS: Chris, they fixed the cellular the tray was damaged somehow, they replaced the tray and it worked, Had i known i would have fixed it with your shop!

I am a real customer who went to your store and asked for a Quote to repair my samsung tablet...the price quoted was super high compared to the competition

News flash: we know that I really wonder Tech Rx, at the foremost are you running a business or are you just trying to make money? A good business does not attempt to belittle their customers and mock their intelligence. Whether or not they were mistaken. Online reviews are just people voicing their experiences and opinions, they‘re not picketing outside your store. If you had just let them slide, your establishment is still a 4 point something on here, no big deal. Now that you have retaliated and looked bad doing it, however, it sure becomes hard to believe that yours is a good service after all.

We upgraded our ipad & cell phone (buying used for a smidgeon of the price of new) and everything was transferred over flawlessly in a heartbeat. Then the real machine got running - the OUTSTANDING TECHS that totally took care of us by patiently walking us through each step with our new devices. Nothing was too much trouble for them - they handled each question with care, calm, competence & innovative abilities to problem solve any presenting issues, both the day we bought and a couple of visits afterwards. Dealt with Chris twice! The first time I went to their store was when my headset had broken and I had no clue what to do with it. CONSUMER WARNING ⚠️ Tech Rx South Surrey. This is a a trivial matter in the grand scheme of things but would like possible customers to be aware of the business practices at Tech Rx in South Surrey. Purchased 2 Rokform phone mounts a couple weeks ago, for my Rokform phone case I had also purchased from them a number of years ago, as well as a few phone suction cup mounts previously. I usually try to support these smaller business vs London Drugs, Best Buy etc anytime I can. Anyway long story short one of the small adhesive phone mounts was broken so went to return it. It was clear I did not use it as the adhesive backing was not removed. The sales guy said he needed to phone Chris the owner to get authorization for a refund. He came back explaining they need to get ahold of manufacturer, I said no problem. And waited for my refund. He said no we need to get ahold of manufacturer 1st. Not happy at this point but ok. They said will call on next business day. Waited well over a week still nothing. Called again said if you don’t want to refund me do you have a replacement. He said yes. Ok I’ll come by then, he said I have to call Chris for approval 1st, and I’ll call you right back. Never heard from him. Went in next day, still would not give me a replacement, lol. Hence this review, this seems ridiculous, and won’t purchase any products here again, and I’d suggest you do the same. Also I was over charged above suggested retail when I looked up these parts. Not cool on all fronts! I’m photo you can see how the mounting surface separates from small round disc. Update as of May 28th; the other mount i purchased broke, and still have not received a refund or replacement for the 1st broken mount!! Horrible company!

NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN. My mom tried to get her nexus 5x fixed and she received horrible service from these guys. They said it was a battery issue and got her to pay to order a new battery. When the new battery came in (later than they promised), they said it is actually the motherboard and the battery. Same thing happened to my partner and the other shop he went to could check this on the spot instead of ordering a battery for no reason. The interaction she had with them was horrible. When I talked to the service guy on the phone, he didn't know much. When she asked for her money back they said they can only give part of it because of the the time they spent figuring out what's wrong and compared themselves to lawyers who charge their clients for their expertise. Other repair shops I visited did not charge the customer if they couldn't fix the phone. If you can't do your job, why should it be at the customer's cost? I also wish companies like this would recognize that customer service isn’t about whether you lose money or not. This place left a bad taste in my mouth and will not be recommending it to ANYONE. I would give it no stars but Google is forcing me to give 1 at least.

Although, not too sure if they got a new owner or what but the staff is just unacceptable now. I came in last week to see if I could get my iPad screen fixed, only to be disappointed when the employee didn’t know what an IPad was! He actually said to me « what’s an IPad » I’m not sure of his name but I know he had blond hair and looked a little like beer belly Thor in the new hip movie. I don’t like to insult people but I genuinely am trying to give you a description of the employee i dealt with. Overall, very clean and warm environment. I was impresssed like always,just a bit of a let down. Keep it up Tech REX!

Hilarious! I brought my daughters phone into be fixed as it was not turning on. They sent it home with me and the back camera didn’t work anymore. My daughter pointed this out right away and then she had to take off to University. I was a bit annoyed and perplexed that they would send a phone back with a basic diagnostic issue not resolved. So when she was back a couple of months later I was still able to take it back to "TRex" as it was still under their warranty. They suggested that the camera broke on my way home and had nothing to do with their service:). Ha ha! I’ve been to "TRex" multiple times and have found the customer service lacking in helpful engagement and now warranty issues/ thoroughness of simple diagnostics lacking. On top of it all, they offered to sell me the same used phone at way above market value and as long as I left the "damaged" phone they would give me $50 (so they could turn around and sell it to someone else). Seems like a bit shady to me.

Had my screen replaced on September 5. Came back on October 17 after noticing there was two hairline fractures on my screen. I was told that the warranty expires after 30 days and there was nothing that they could do. While I was initially very happy with the repair even though they put too much glue on the part where you put your ear so that I couldn’t hear very well and I went back and they didn’t fix it very good to begin with. Now I am not happy with the way they handled this. I assured them that I didn’t drop the phone and I didn’t sit on it which as a matter fact you can see because I have an otter box around it which is very very secure protection. I wish companies would realize customer service doesn’t always falls around whether or not you lose money but whether or not you make something right

Scammers! I bought a new phone battery from them. They gave me the option to buy a $40 battery or pay 2x for a battery with lifetime guarantee. I paid the extra for lifetime guarantee. Fast forward 2 years when my battery isn’t holding a charge again so I went in to get a new one with my “lifetime guarantee”. They tell me I’d have to just buy a new battery again because the “lifetime guarantee” just covers battery damage, not expected degradation due to age. So what’s the point of me paying for a lifetime guarantee ???? Don’t fall for this scam. Get your phone fixed elsewhere where they don’t lie to the customers to make a few extra bucks.

I dropped my MS Surface Pro 4 and smashed the screen. I called the Microsoft store and the only option they offered was to replace the entire unit for $525. All my data would be lost. Called TechRx and although their expertise is smart phone screen repair they said they could order a new screen and replace it. They delivered on their promise! Total cost $450 and all my data was saved. Great job!

If you’re looking for a repair shop, look no more; just come to this place! I’m not much for going into repair shops, knowing full well that almost all places scam you, but after looking at the reviews for this location, I got my girlfriend to go in with a laptop on our last resort. The worker that dealt with the computer issue was absolutely fantastic; he was very polite, charismatic and extremely charming. My MacbookPro had some liquid spilled on it and this place repaired it very quickly and efficiently, with no extra costs or scam-based fees. The price was reasonable and the overall service was great. They could have easily totalled up a high price and lied about issues that were nonexistent because the Macbook is decently old, but instead they only told me the bare necessities of what needed replacing, while also giving me tips on the hardware. I was honestly so distraught when my Macbook broke, I had a backup of it’s files, but just having broken such an expensive laptop had me in tears. After a day at their store, it was good (if not better) as it was before the spill. Huge thank you to this location and all of their staff.

OK service, good lookin people.. although I have to admit that I nearly well threw up in my versace crossbody when I saw that someone's long blonde hair was stuck inside my new screen protector. Even though I liked the company of this employee, why must I be reminded of his presence everytime I look on my phone? Would take a picture but it is god awful to lay eyes on. Very sad. One star is too high of a review. Our daughter took in an iPhone as the charger port was not working. She was charged $50.00 for them to run diagnosis. Bottomline, they removed parts without authorization and phone returned unrepaired and with missing parts. In addition Chris had the gall to offer our daughter $50 for a $500 phone. Scammers, rude and extremely pushy, run the other way

Do yourself a favor. If you are having trouble with your phone and your carrier suggest you need a new phone with a new 2 year plan for another $100 plus up front. See these young men first. Great service, honest and fair dealing and very knowledgeable.

I would not recommend going. I just took my phone there to get the screen replaced and it is completely discoloured. Looks very oddly saturated colour. I was in a pinch due to the virus so going to apple was not an option, and part of my screen was not working. You can absolutely tell these screens are not the same quality as apple, I have had many screens replaced with apple (at least 10 screens) and never had an issue like this. I will leave it on until apple opens and hope it does not internally ruin my phone. If you don’t absolutely have to go, do not go you will be disappointed.

Saga: Sometime later, while out of the country, my home key "slipped" away and stopped working so Settings/General/Touch Assist/ gave me a Virtual Home Key... Many extra steps, thus cumbersome, but I persevered for a month. THEN, i had total knee replacement surgery and 2 months of heavy drugs and housebound during recovery. Several months had passed. YESTERDAY, I saw kind Mark, at Tech Rx in South Surrey, and the service manager honoured my warranty (for the screen) - thus, no charge for the long awaited fix to the Home Button! Beware. My iPhone screen replacement has had a number of problems - first it cracked (wasn't seated properly). They made me pay again (at a 'reduced rate') to have it insisting it was 'mechanical' damage. The replacement screen cost more because it was billed as an Apple screen, yet it was significantly discoloured (actually changes colour depending on the temperature) but I put up with it, being some $200 in, and now, a couple of months later, it has cracked again. I've never had this problem with other phone screens! So I had it replaced in Burnaby at less than half the cost of the original price I paid here. Not sure if others have had similar troubles. Update: I paid $45 elsewhere and now have a normal looking screen, not cracked, and fixed in 40 minutes. I'm very happy with it - well worth the drive. You've lost my business and that of my friends and those who heed this warning.

The screen on my iPad 2 cracked and Chris did an amazing repair job. He was friendly, fast (fixed within the hour), and reasonably priced ($100) compared to Geek Sqaud at Best Buy that would have charged me $175 plus I'd have to wait 5-10 business days cause they ship it out for repairs. They are also easily located off of King George Blvd in S Surrey. I found them on the internet, read the positive reviews and I would not hesitate to use them again. I highly recommend these guys.

This shop received my Nexus 7 Tablet to repair because it had hit one corner on a drop, slightly cracked the screen, and the touch functions no longer worked. There must be a dozen videos on how to remove the screen, but they did not view one. Instead they pried off and damaged each of the other 3 corners, and then claimed I brought it in that way. The fix was abominable--some sort of repair adhesive. And no discount in the repair price. The Nexus works, barely. Part of the freezing problem may not be the fault of the company, but the damage was and is inexcusable. I cannot recommend them. Interesting to note that if you give this business a 'negative ' review you are somehow not in their system. I am not defaming a business on a sick whim. And I have a receipt to prove it.

Be carful folks with this store. I got my iPhone 8 screen replaced there and found the home button was not properly secured and had to come back. The guy took it back and work on it for 5 mins and said that was the best he could do, if I wanted better results, go to apple and pay the full price! His logic was truly amazing and basically He was saying that he was cheaper because he offered crappier services. Shocking, just want to give you guys a heads up before you think of going there...
