Had a hard drive fail from a power short, wouldn't turn on or spin up at all. Sent in my board to Data Pro for a bios and board replacement. $50 and a week later my hard drive was brought back to life. No damage or bad sectors and my data was fully intact. Drive is still working just fine and of course I've now backed up the HD again to the cloud and physically. Service was awesome and an amazing success compared to paying hundreds of dollars for unnecessary data recovery options out there. Your mileage may vary but it worked for me and I'm so happy it did. My external drive suffered printed circuit board (PCB) damage as well as internal data corruption due to being knocked off the table by a dog, while transferring vacation photos. This drive was supposed to be our backup drive for family keepsakes, but due to other hardware changes, was temporarily the sole source for this cherished data when this event occurred. Talk about learning the hard way! I learned about DataPro Data Recovery Lab as a source for replacement PCBs through a discussion forum. I sent them my damaged board, they moved the bios to a new board, and shipped it to me with very quick turnaround, and sending me courtesy emails along the way to let me know the status. The price was very reasonable, as well! After installing the new board, the drive behaved like new, mechanically. (At this point, Windows still didn’t recognize it as an “allocated” and “initialized” drive, and thus no assigned drive letter either.) To recover ALL our lost and corrupted data, and I do mean ALL, I used the full version of MiniTool Power Data Recovery software. Our family is grateful to have our photos and videos back! And, now that this drive seems to be working like new again, I just might use it as a mirror to our cloud storage backup.

Wasn't looking good for my mother-in-law's laptop drive after a coffee spill until I ran into these guys. Shipped the controller to them and they easily swapped the firmware chip and once back the drive was as it was before that dreadful morning. Great communication A++++++

Had an older 1TB Seagate that was in a machine whose power supply started arcing, and melted the power connector of all attached devices. I sent in the damaged controller board to have it's firmware chip transferred to a donor board that they were able to supply. Donor board was returned to me, I re-attached donor board to original drive and perfect. Just in-case any damage was done to the drive itself, I choose to supply a new drive, clone the old, previously damaged but now working :-) drive to the new drive, and kept the old drive as a mirror to the new drive. All data was saved! I want to thank them for offering this service. Saved my butt.

I referred a coworker to them to recover a drive that had been underwater for three weeks. I had even opened it up (you're not supposed to) to check for water on the platters. They got the data off; 28GB worth. The best part was that they're risk free. If they can't get the data off, you're only out the shipping of the drive. And when they ask for payment, they show a snapshot of the drive contents so that you can verify they can access them. Afterwards, the data was made available online and we downloaded it without any issues. I would definitely recommend them.

I cannot say enough good things about the service I received from DataPro. They did exactly what they said they would do and they were a lifesaver to me when I thought I had lost valuable data forever. I live in the USA and had two RAID hard drives go bad on me at the same time making 5 years of backup information inaccessible. Another company quoted me a price of $3,000 to get it fixed, which was too much for me to consider. I then discovered DataPro and read their helpful information on their website. After emailing DataPro with my hard drive PCB information, they told me they could swap the bios out and install it onto a new PCB. They could not guarantee me that it would work, if something other than the PCB was wrong with my hard drive. Given the importance of the data and the much lower cost with this approach, I decided to give it a try. I mailed DataPro my old PCB and as soon as they received it they did the work and mailed it back to me. I put it onto my old hard drive, installed the hard drive in my NAS and voila! I was able to copy the 1 TB of valuable information off of the drive onto a new hard drive. For about $50 plus shipping, this was an incredible value for me. Removing the PCB and sending it to DataPro was very easy requiring just a small Torx screwdriver that you can get at many stores. -TJ

It was a pleasure dealing with this company. I had a hard drive that one day just died. I learned that I could replace the circuit board myself and possibly revive the drive. After doing some research, I found PCB Solutions who could transfer the firmware from my dead circuit board to a new one. They were very helpful answering my questions and providing updates to my order. I’ve received my replacement board quickly. After installing it on my dead hard drive, the whole drive worked again, and I was able to recover the data!

First of all I want to thank you for providing such an amazing service & the hope you gave me to recover my lost for ever data. I found you guys through YouTube after I got a quote over thousands of dollars from recovery place for one drive and i had these two drives married to each other as a raid 0 for a big video storage. I had the data backed up but i didn't know exactly what was backed up and what was not since this computer is only used for pulling footage or sorting footage for edits. For a month the computer was acting up by restarting and then it would not boot I changed the PSU and same problem found out that a cable went bad must of burned the HDD BOARD. When putting everything back together noticed my big drive for storage was gone and that's how it all started. Hard drives are tricky because that drive i send you guys was replaced 2 years ago by WD nas red for another drive i had that failed so I say with certain that the sister drive this raid is running on does not have much life in her. So its time to cross reference what i have and retire these harddrives for ever. I put in the replacement board on the failed harddrive and put both HD's in the computer and raid worked as it has never failed. This worked so great going to back all the data up right now I'm very happy and thankful for getting a second chance on these files that would of been lost for ever. I'm going to tell every videographer & photographer i know about you guys. We all have that story where a drive dies on us and we simply accept the footage is gone for ever because data recovery is out of the question. Today I know that the story does not have to end that way and we can get it back by you guys.

Basically, I am giving two stars for the very bad communication that I had through email. I sent my hard drive from Europe, and that´s find, I understand that the risks, but from the moment that they received the hard drive ( somewhere between 20th Dec and 1st week Jan 2021), I had almost to beg to get updates, sending reminders to my emails, just to get them answered 6-10 days later. It was only when I decided that I wanted to recover my hard disk, that then, I got emails straight away after mines were sent. In the overall, they could not fix my unit, that I don´t blame for this and it had dropped and the sound wasn´t promising at all. Then, be aware, that perhaps if that wasn´t enough, customs for some reason, savaged my hard disk ( see picture), checking fro drugs or what? well, these are the risks when sending overseas. Maybe stick to a company within your continent.

one day my most precious external drive with all my kids pictures stopped working. I was absolutely in panic mode and requested a review and quote from a big data recovery company that's recommended by the brand of external drive I have. the quote came back to be $1400 USD and they can only say it is possible to recover 30-70% of data. I did a bit more search and find DataPro right by my neighborhood and has great review. I was hesitated I must admit, I didn't want to take chance. I decided to give Datapro a call and Sean was very friendly, helpful, and I feel like I should just give it a try and let him take a look at the drive. I had an old personal hard-drive where the control board had suffered physical damage. The data wasn't irreplaceable and I did have backups, but restoring the damaged drive was the best solution for me, IF it was financially feasible to regain that access. The team at DataPro offered an extremely economical solution by migrating over the firmware chip to a donor board. Their direction and process was easy and efficient. Their communication was top notch. They executed on it flawlessly and extremely quickly. And now, I'm very happy to say, I have access to all my information again.

DataPro helped recover 142gb of family photos from a USB drive that a dog had chewed. I ordered a replacement PCB online, removed the damaged PCB from the chewed drive and sent it in. Datapro cloned the bad PCB to the good PCB and I was able to recover all of the data.

I sent my hard drive and I contacted them to see if they received the hard drive which was 5 weeks ago. Three weeks ago I tried to contact them to check status and all I get is a message saying the voice mail box is full. I sent emails and used the company contact form and no word back. The email had a name of "Jason". I hope this is a real company ant not a SCAM! Anyone else had issues like this?

my HD stopped it and did not get it to work anymore. Panic everywhere, lost all data, including my company data when I encountered data pro recovery lab I thought YES but had to send my broken board and that was just swallow. they can be trusted and my HD will work again. still sent a few mails and noticed that it was okay. my HD was already broken, so it could not be worse. After 2 weeks I received an email from Jason that the board was cloned and that they would send it back. I did not expect to have the collar inside within a week. after mounting the board connected and have all my data back. That is why I am very happy with this company and can recommend it to anyone if you have a defective HD to contact them. mailing costs nothing and you are well helped by the employees. I called them with my problem. they said the problem sounds internal and recommended that they try to recover the data off my wife's 1 tb external drive. everything went quickly and smoothly and my wife is now very happy with the recovery of her lost irreplaceable data.
