Saved our life. My husband's laptop had the black screen of death and he needed his work immediately. After many calls and some false hope it appeared no one could help on Friday night. We finally found a place in Princeton that could see us at 10 AM. We drove there the next morning. We waited at the place of business and they did not show up. While waiting we made more calls. We found Princeton Computers. Ted diagnosed the computer over the phone. Drove to our car. Texted us the progress. In less than a couple hours our computer was working and data transferred on the new Apple Mac Book we purchased the night before. You can't put a price on retrieving all my husband's work, but we were very happy with the bill. I hope to never be in this position again, but we now have Ted on speed dial in case. I also hope letting others know saves them the time and stress we spent finding Ted.

I was very satisfied with the responsiveness with Princeton Computer Repair. I contacted them last Friday regarding an LCD for my newly purchased Dell computer. After giving him all the pertinent information, he was able to give me a price and turnaround time. I told him I would let him know if I would proceed by Monday. I’m fairly new to the Princeton area. My three-year old Mac was showing ominous messages about the battery, which had been draining from full to zero with no warning. I called Princeton Computer Repair on a Monday. Ted asked a few questions, then scheduled a pick up for Tuesday. He texted me the diagnostic results and estimate on Wednesday, and then delivered to me the repaired machine on Saturday, the same day the parts were delivered. He checked to make sure all was well the next day. Fast, professional, and a lot more convenient and personal than the Apple Genius Bar I used to visit in Brooklyn. The invoice matched the estimate exactly as well.

Excellent Experience!!! So happy! My computer wouldn't boot up, and Ted was able to back up my data. I was impressed not only with his technical expertise, but he was so was friendly, professional, exceptionally polite, and so easy to work with. Once he had it, he kept me posted on the status, and he returned the computer to my home...it was great to have him pick-up/return it, as he was able to accommodate my crazy schedule. Ted was able to put me at ease during a highly stressful time of potentially losing all of the files I (foolishly) hadn't backed up in months. The hard drive in my laptop died so I found this company online, and I was very pleased with the results. Ted picked up my laptop from my office on the day I called him, and he returned it the next morning (!!), with a new SSD drive installed and a copy of Windows like what was on my original drive. (Fortunately I had a recent backup of my files, so he didn't need to recover or reload my data.) The overnight turnaround was a lot quicker than I expected. I'm glad I decided to pay extra for a SSD drive (which runs much faster and cooler than the old hard drive). The overall pricing for labor and parts was reasonable in my opinion, and it was a lot cheaper and easier than buying a whole new laptop. (Hoping to get a few more years out of this one.) I recommend this company for any computer repairs you might need.

Ted fried my computer motherboard and now does not answer the phone or email. My Lenovo W530 booted up into windows, so the mother board started off working. The problem was that the computer would not charge the battery. Ted ordered the wrong part and then tried to install it, and that must have ruined the mother board. It is obvious that the part he ordered was different than the existing part (wrong size, wrong number of connections) but he jammed it in anyway. He returned to me a computer with the wrong power connector, so my power plug did not even fit in. Worse, the computer no longer booted up. Even worse, he must have known that he blew the mother board but did not tell me, just returned the computer. Worse still, he is unreachable. Do you want this to happen to you?

I don't usually call or bother writing reviews for things like this, but one of their employees was so reckless I had to say something. Driving along nassau street in Princeton, one of their drivers with their sign on top of the car nearly slammed into the side of our car and then illegally passed us on a downtown road full of pedestrians. Called them to tell them about the incident and they hung up on me. If they're going to represent a business, they should take care to not potentially kill someone. And if someone calls to report it, maybe have enough customer service sense to address the incident rather than hang up and NOT CARE. Trust me, plenty of places that will happily take you money for similar services, you don't need to go here.

I contacted Princeton Computer Repair Service when my computer was paralyzed by a Windows infinite boot loop. I wasn't able to use my computer at all or access any of my files. I was terrified that I would lose all of my data, which was especially painful given an important looming deadline. When I contacted Ted, he picked up the laptop at 11 pm and successfully extracted and sent me the most important files for my deadline after midnight. Over the next few days, he was also able to reset my operating system to normal and was able to save all of the rest of my data, despite the fact that my hard drive turned out to be corrupted. Overall, Ted is courteous, professional, accommodating, and was straightforward about what I could expect to work and not work. I definitely recommend reaching out to this service if you have computer problems.

I called the service on two occasions and they had a repair person there within the hour. The best part about it is they not only fix it but they walk you through everything step-by-step, they clearly explain the process as they go, giving you tips and shortcuts along the way. Also I really like one of their services where they can remotely control your computer and fix things even though they are not at your home. This feature is not new to computer repair but it's just nice to know they offer this service so things can be done quickly and efficiently. Im not sure if this company has more then one tech. But the driver I encountered on the road is extremenly wreckless and had rage issues. This is not an isolated event. Look at the other one star reviews. Calling the company number to report likely will not help ..I have a sneaking suspicion the number is to the wreckless drivers phone.

Ted is the consummate professional. I had the worst possible problem when not 1 but both of my Macs went kaput! My IMac during a an update to High Sierra and my MacBook Pro just bugged out. We started with the iMac, Ted came to pick the machine up, which was fantastic. He told me what he would do and look for before doing anything. I had EVERYTHING on this machine and fortunately nothing was lost and Ted was able to get me back and running. Apple support basically said after a third call...”there’s nothing we can do sorry.” Based on the efficiency of the work on the iMac I gave Ted my MacBook to see if it too could be saved. I wasn’t hopeful on the MacBook. Not only did Ted fix it he walked me through all my options on that and didn’t try to have me do more than I was comfortable with. I have both of my machines back working with no issues (knock wood) and I owe that to Ted. He also didn’t bust the bank and all the work was affordable and worth it. He has quick response time. Does a great deal via text but will also take a call if needed. Simply put if you need computing assistance give Ted a shot at it first, I don’t believe you will be sorry in doing so. Lastly, Ted is very personable and doesn’t come with a bag of tricks or tons of jargon. If you can get him talking about his life journey you will be glad that you did. Thanks Ted!

I contacted Ted on Christmas eve due to my computer bricking from a windows update. Ted responded in a couple hours, and scheduled a pick up for the day after Christmas, which I was more than happy about. While diagnosing the problem, Ted kept me updated the entire way through and let me know what he was doing and why. There are a few things people should know. He does take a few hours to respond, but in my experience, he answers every inquiry. Also, it isn't the very cheapest service you can find, but the quality and customer service make it well worth it. It was a fantastic experience. At least as fantastic an experience as breaking your computer can be. With that being said, I would definitely recommend Ted to any and everyone, and will definitely go with Princeton Computer Repair Service for any future computer issues.

Last December the hard drive on our Mac desktop had to be replaced. He gave us 3 options with different price points and storage capacity to choose from. My wife and I ran into an issue where our Macbook Air had become unresponsive. We had critical data on the computer which contained an entire year of our non-profit's financials. We called Ted and he helped us almost immediately. He was thorough, quick and kept us informed along the way. Macbook Air computers are notoriously difficult to access the flash hard drive and he was able to access and extract all of our data onto an external hard drive. I can't recommend Ted highly enough. Ted and his team did a miraculous job of saving all the files on our desktop computer after the hard drive died. Yes we know we should have backed it up, but we didn't. Ted's team tried repeatedly for the better part of a week and then finally called on their "clean room" team to extract them directly from the hard drive. Ted picked up the laptop within 24 hours, assured me it was fixable, and prevented me from running out to buy a new one. He quickly confirmed my diagnosis, despite the relative rarity of my computer's manufacturer, and searched around for the parts need to repair it. These were only available at the manufacturer, so he shepherded my computer through the RMA/repair process, getting it shipped out the same day it broke. Through it all, Ted was super responsive, and went (IMO) above and beyond the call of duty. He also provided me with a stopgap loaner while I waited on my organization's bureaucracy for a longer term loaner laptop. All-in-all, PCRS was a silver lining to an otherwise unfortunate situation, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone in the area with computer repair issues.

Bought a refurbed Imac 2019. Quickly found that that it would need an RAM upgrade to 32gb in order to be quick enough. This is major computer surgery, requiring the disassembly of almost all the internal components to get to the RAM and risking damage to the glued in screen. Ted responded by first carefully investigating the procedure and the risks. He then picked up the machine at my house and returned it the next day, mission accomplished and at a fair price. Princeton Computer Repair is the best! I had a Dell notebook computer circa 2003 running Windows Vista (!). The notebook contained many family photos (among other data) that I had never backed up. (Stoopid, but life intervenes) When I tried to back these up recently using a Vista-compatible version Seagate Backup Plus, I could not get past an error associated with the Dell internal HD. Ted replied to my initial email inquiry in a timely manner. He called and discussed the problem with me. His mastery of the subject matter and understanding of the problem were obvious. We scheduled a time for him to pick up the computer the next morning at my home. Ted was early for the appointment and provided his ETA via text. He was professional and took custody of the notebook and external HD. Later that same day, Ted was able to access the photos and other data and copy them to the external HD. He called to tell me that he was done and scheduled an appointment to return the computer and external HD. I told Ted that I could not be home when he wanted to return the computer. No problem for Ted! He brought the computer to my son's hockey practice! Moreover, he waited 30+ minutes for me because I was running late! And he did so with a smile! That sort of customer service in this day and age is extraordinary! Most importantly, all of my photos and other data were properly backed up and accessible! Thanks again, Ted. Do not use this service. They put peoples lives at risk by their dangerous driving. They nearly crashed into our car with a newborn onboard on a one lane residential street by veering onto street parking in order to overtake us. I called Ted to see if his computer repair services could help diagnose and fix my Dell Tower computer. His guidance, help, expertise, politeness, and professional services were exemplary. I'll be sure to bring my computers to him in the future! Here's why . . . After I explained the problem Ted suggested that I take and send him some screenshots of the error messages, information about my computer, and what I had done to try unsuccessfully to fix it myself. After emailing him this information he called me back with his findings and recommendations. He advised that the problem was unlikely to be a hardware issue. Rather a Windows 10 caused problem after an automated Windows update ran. He suggested that I contact Microsoft directly, explain my problem to then, and request their remote phone help to install a completely new version of Windows 10. I couldn't do this myself since my Dell computer came with a pre-installed version of Windows and I had no Windows license number. I called Microsoft and they quickly helped me to reinstall Windows 10 to recover my computer with no problems at all. I had backups of my data so I was able to reinstall all of my programs and security services too!

I had a terrible experience with the Geek Squad and spent a lot of money to never have my computer fixed. I have a 2012 MacBook which I would like to get a little more life out of if possible. After speaking to the Apple store, they suggested 8GB of RAM as a first step. I did my homework and found Ted. I thought if he is working within the Princeton University community, he must be good because his reviews sure are! I emailed him on a Sunday not expecting a response until Monday. Ted picked up my computer within a couple of hours. He installed the 8GB of RAM and did a directory rebuild. He suggested possibly reinstalling the operating system and installing a SSD if the computer doesn't get any faster. Ted kept in contact with me through the entire process. He even dropped it off at my house at 9:45pm on a Sunday night. Now that's customer focused! Ted has kept in contact with me to see how the computer is functioning. I have not ruled out the SSD and I will work with Ted when I am ready. With his help, I can stretch a little more time out of this laptop. I highly recommend working with him!

Although the anticipated cost of replacing my hardware was impractical given my circumstances, Princeton Computer Repair Service went above and beyond to look into different options and potential price points for me. If there were 10 stars Ted would get eleven. He knows his tech,he diagnoses quickly, he resolves the problem promptly and charges fairly. If you want more then that maybe its not one of your devices that's the problem. I'm just saying!

I called Princeton Computer Repair because my computer was failing to load certain websites, websites that I had previously no other issues with. I had followed every single Youtube DIY video to try to fix the problem. Uncheck this, unmark this box, command prompt this, etc. I had even completely rebooted my computer back to FACTORY SETTINGS to no avail. The gentleman over the phone asked me a couple of questions and was just as perplexed as I was. Then he gave me a few quotes, told me they would pick up my computer, etc. He also did suggest that I also try just rebooting my parents (I was at their house at the time) router which sounded like the simplest, yet stupidest, solution to my problem. Low and behold, I do just that and my internet was working like a charm, no issues with any websites whatsoever. Truly exceptional service! As I was getting ready to file my extended tax return, my IMac’s hard drive failed. Needing a quick solution, I came across Ted online. I called him late Saturday afternoon, luckily he answered and managed to order the parts for me that same night. Within a couple of days, the parts arrived, Ted picked up the computer from my house, repaired and delivered to my door step the repaired computer. Did I mention that I threw him a curve ball...my wife gave him another laptop to repair that I had not even told him about when he came to pickup the iMac.... he fixed both in the same timeframe.
