Great local internet company
Not impressed....called them a week ago to arrange a date for disconnection due to moving. (May 14). Woke up this morning to no service. Called them and they can't come back for almost a week plus a reconnect fee. I'm not sure what I'm going to do considering I work from home and NEED internet. Very mad at this point. It's going to be a looooong two weeks due to the fact customer service doesn't have a brain. Update: Today I received a call back from KWIC from customer service. Within an hour they had come back to hook up internet.....minus the connection fee. Thank you for solving the problem.
Worst Internet Provider in The Country . They do not care about their clients and will take double amount from your account without any concern to your financial issues and then deny that they took double .. I would not recommend KWIC Internet.
Our parents have had KWIC at their house for 10+ years now with no issues. We recently upgraded their system to stream Netflix which was an easy process over the phone. Even when I mentioned switching to their top speed I was told that their middle speed would be more than sufficient in terms of bandwidth needs that current customers are using for just streaming and basic internet. I was advised that if the mid speed was insufficient I could always call back and have it bumped up to the top within a day or two. This option was very convenient. I took a look through the reviews here as they didn't add up in comparison to the experience my parents nor I have had in the past with KWIC. It appears that many of the 1* reviews are from technologically inept individuals blaming KWIC for their issues when instead it is issues on the users end or a lack of understanding towards the systems in general. KWIC has a great market where typical high speed may not be available (my parents' house). Ask for help in the future before resorting to a review to vent. I bet a lot of these 1* reviews would have the same customer experience as my parents have had if they had simply asked. I was happy to see KWIC come back to tthese comments and address where the users were mistaken. It simply proves a lack of effort on the end users part to resolve issues.
They upgraded the towers in my area! 10MBps! The fastest internet this area has ever had! And it's reliable, somehow?!
To start if you use very little internet and don’t want to spend much it’s alright that being said if you use it a lot and are looking for a good connection Worst internet provider I’ve ever had have seen Tim Horton’s wifi faster and it just cuts out at random save your $$ use a different provider
internet cuts off every 5mins and can’t even play a simple online video game, or watch netflix on 2 screens
Company is a joke, lags and rude customer service. Lady on phone hung up mid of conversation. Save your money and time and look for a better internet provider who values their customers interest. Lady on phone said “whatever” and hung up. Thank you

I had my internet "installed" 2 weeks ago. I have not had functioning internet at all since it was "installed" I was told that the Bell lines were in need of repair. I was also told that any data overages I incurred because of this issue would be credited back to me. Since then, I've been advised that Bell keeps pushing out the ticket, and as they won't give me the contact info I have no way to confirm this. I've been left voicemails that a Bell tech would be back out to correct this, and have waited for that, for a no show technician. I am now being told I need to take a day off work, because they refuse to work with me and my schedule so now I'm supposed to lose a days pay, on top of paying additional data fees, which I just got an email from Patti in customer service saying I will not in fact be getting. I have been very patient with them to resolve this, it's been 2 weeks! So instead of working with me to resolve this, they have decided it is better to cancel my account. The most atrocious customer service I've ever received. And having worked for "big red" for 7 years, I am fully aware of what a service provider is able to do, even for an ISP such as KWIC. I am appalled by the way their "customer service" rep has handled the situation. Now, their tech support on the other hand was outstanding. They made me feel like they actually cared and wanted to resolve this issue for me. They called me with updates as frequently as they could. Josh was fantastic! He should work for a company who values their customers as much as he does. Do NOT waste your time with this provider. It will only end up costing you more than it's worth.

There is no internet ever
I've been a customer for a long time ~10 years. Kwic doesn't offer the fastest packages, but you do get what you pay for. I have very consistent speeds at all hours of the day. There's no bandwidth limit. They do not block anything. They allow opening ports. I used to be an Xplornet customer with a second line and got 8% of the advertised speed on a good day. They had a 500GB data cap. They blocked everything including Windows updates. They do not allow opening of ports. Kwic definitely is the better WISP company, so don't get fooled by Xplornet and their "faster" packages.
Absolutely horrible. Their customer service is god awful, they never do anything. They throttle your internet, and it doesn't even work 50% of the time. Worst internet service in the county

Best internet provider we've had in the area. Switched from Bell... Tried Eastlink at one point but ended up going back with KWIC and have never been disappointed
Terrible customer service. Even when you are choosing to upgrade your plan meaning you will pay more each month, they still charge you to set it up. They dont seem to care about their customers at all. And even with an upgrade the internet speed and quality of use did not seem to change. When we went in to tell them we would be moving and that our internet was practically the same after upgrading they didnt seem to care, the receptionist didnt even look at me, she looked down to the floor. Have now switched providers.
the customer service seems to be 50/50, some people seem to care and want to help solve issues and others just say "everything is fine from our end" but I have experienced many issues and for the past few weeks I've mainly been using my cellphone hotspot because the strength and speeds that kwic has to other are slim to none, my family is upgrading to the top "fastest speed" account soon getting new lines put in our house and for sure paying for it, but if nothing changes we will be long gone.

The worst internet l have experienced l have called twice this year about the service it is out more then on l am told each time they are working on it same excuse last year the last girl l talk to was rude time to get the park we camp in to find another internet provider l even thought of getting them at home so happy l didn't so if u sign up with them u might was well throw your money out the window because internet is barely on
65 bucks a month for speeds slower than dial up.
I have had many issues / interruptions with both tv and internet. BE CAREFUL when you decide to sign up though..... They dont tell you but you are locked in for a FuLL year CONTRACT at a time.. this was not told to me at the time and we move alot.....so it was a disappointing surprise.
Not impressed with this internet at all. We have had it about 3 weeks now and have yet to have ONE day that this internet has worked . Its constantly going out no movies will ever play fully we cant use our computers with out the internet going out. Do yourself a favour and go with someone else this servise is not reliable.

Beyond garbage don't even want to waste my time explaining overplayed internet cuts out every 3hrs had to fight to get a tech to come in and still doesn't work. Customer id is jaysher make it right or I'll be changing proviodors soon
Customer service is a complete joke. They give you false information and then lie and say that they never said that. Also customer service is rude and ignorant. The overall internet service is also a joke. It's slow, it randomly cuts out.

Have had their internet services for a while now and can't complain too much. When we got the internet installed it was a lengthy process due to our unique situation where our house is and how it is set up but the technicians were excellent and extremely friendly. Tech support is usually quite good if I am having problems with connectivity or speed issues. The reason for the 3 stars and not 4 or 5 is due to how often there are connection issues. I will often have my speed reduced to half of what it is supposed to be or even less. I also had a payment issue and gave the wrong banking info originally so I had to go instore to pay for that month. When I arrived at 10 minutes to close the lady seemed to be annoyed that I got there so late however it was a 2-5 minute issue at most. After paying I told her I wanted her to verify the new banking information that I had provided by email. She did not know how to find the information and I had to repeat things 2-3 times. Very exhausting conversation for things that are so simple. Overall there are things that could definitely be improved upon however they are still lots better than competitors in this area.
Have been with kwic for years and no problems. Their customer service is excellent and the tech support is very helpful and patient. (I'm not very techie). If a service call is required the service guys are very polite and helpful. Have always solved any issues in a timely manner. I may have had to get assistance 3 or 4 times in more than 10 years. This company ROCKS. Their customer service exceeds anything you would ever expect. You call for something they address it immediately and even follow up to make sure your happy. worst internet ever. it never works and when it does my internet which is supposed to be 2.5mbps download speed averages around 150 to 175 kbps. you CANNOT GAME with their service which they told me i could. their service sucks and even when they do send a "technician" out they just say the tower is overloaded and theres nothing they can do. my old dial up internet was better quality than their garbage
The worst Internet service I have ever experienced and probably the worst available in the entire world... 1.1 mbps for 80 bucks a month.. Pathetic. Unreal how terrible KWIC Internet is. DO NOT go with them.
Whoever gives 5 stars is wasting money Most of these 5 stars probably live in little towns or a few more neighbors then most of us which in result you will have better speed connection and all that but with is out in the middle of nowhere that we gotta hope that we are able to use our internet while it sits at the top of a antenna My opinion isnt suppose to sound rude but these 5 stars most likely live in more of a populated area or are closer to the towers
I've been with Kwic for over 5 years. My internet was always spotty, some days it worked, some not. I have dealt with tech support dozens of times and although they made some effort, the issue was never resolved. I even had a crew to the house and discovered the radio receiver was pointed wrong. This still didn't fix my issue. Finally, I took it upon myself to bring my equipment in and have it replaced. Issue is now resolved...turns out it was the PoE supplied by Kwic the whole time! Extremely frustrated that not only have I been paying for service I wasn't getting...but I also had to resolve my own issues. Thanks, for nothing, Kwic. F. J. Sprik

No service available in Vittoria at all. Yet mysteriously both of my neighbours use them.

Well i never thought I would see the day when I was super happy about service from an internet provider!!! That day has come ! Our internet's cable was acting up we had no internet we called at 11am by 230pm that afternoon we had service tech onsite and internet restored Thank you so much for the help I will recommend you to anyone
Kwic is not quick... We did switch from Bell to Kwic and it should be the same "speed" but since with Kwic we have extreme slow internet. Some days are not bad.. but still way slower than what we had with Bell. Also hard time to reach the technical support as internet (As far you can call slow internet, internet) is always the worst when the opening hours are closed. Would not recommend Kwic :( Add on to the answer back of Kwic: I just see the reply back... no one did get back to me in the last 10 months from Kwic. It is still not great. Winter months will come soon, so hope to have some more time to look into the information of other internet providers.
Working fine
Been with Kwic for a few years now. I rarely have issues with my service in the years ive been with them, anytime i do they are quick to try to solve the issue. I have also made the mistake of over paying (paid them my rent money!) and they very quickly informed me plus were more then cooperative regarding getting the money back to me. I have had my ups and downs with them but overall I am very appreciative of the honestly in the company.
New Internet service is good. Can stream movies off Netflix with no buffering. So far very stable.
Terrible service. Terrible company. Had a computer repaired there, they told us it was viruses, that the anti-virus program on the computer was expired when in fact it had more than a year left on its current license, and then the technician disabled the Automatic start-up of the anti-virus program and I can't enable it again. I wish Surf Computers was still in business.
Kwic internet was installed in my condo with free 1 year service. All was great for that year...no problems. As soon as the 1 year service was up the the problems started. I went through 2 routers which makes me think the equipment they put in their customers homes are cheap and sub par.they installe a deco unit and it seems to be better but i have an issue with the new password and my printer. Also with the ethernet connection on my tv. They recently merged with rogers...waiting for the price to increase.
Started with the 15 mb 1 mb upload after experience connection issues i started testing my network speeds and realized i was getting an average of 7 mb dl and .4 mb upload i called to change my plan to 5. Mb unlimited and was told they dont know why. I was put on it as my line is only 7 mb. Anyways.
If you can get ANYONE else, do it.

Anyone who gives this place a great review, obviously is lucky and has had reasonable service...HOWEVER, if you do have issues with your service, be ready to find out what level of patience you really possess... and it will cost you regardless.
Customer service is poor
I've been using KWIC for years, don't really remember how long any more... The past 18 months or so, the internet drops. No rhyme or reason. We moved last February and started trying to troubleshoot the drops after the move. We've had 3 new modems, had Bell techs out repeatedly, stripped all of the phone lines out of the house, helped reprogram a modem over the phone... it goes on and on. They always seem like they're trying to help but never fix the problem. It was down again yesterday, tech support suggested that I switch to Star or Techsavvy. So credit for honesty. And they gave me a free month last year for all the problems. But I sure would like a reliable connection! I'll probably switch to Star, they're delivered through cable, not phone line. Switching is a hassle I could live without.
Invested $4500 CAN for a tower to reach the kwic tower. Which may I mention is around as far as we could see if you climbed the tower. The internet is so bad that one computer direct connect cannot load a webpage during some hours. looses internet connection frequently. Even invested 200 for a new router and it doesn't change anything and ended up returning it. Anyone that is considering KWIC or XPLORNET think twice. You pay crazy amounts to get internet that barely functions and is extremely unstable.
They will throttle the hell out of you. It doesn't matter what plan you paid for, I almost never get more than 500kbps even though I PAY FOR 5MBPS. With any luck this company will dissolve and a better one will take its place.
