I was initially hesitant about mailing in my iPhone from Toronto to Quebec, but my worry was unfounded. My phone had suddenly stopped working after dropping it a couple weeks prior. Gilles was very friendly and provided detailed, weekly updates (including photos) on the progress of isolating the root problem. It turned out my phone had a whole host of issues; including severe damage to the backlight circuit, a broken screen, and a bent logic board. The amount of effort and time put in to rebuild this circuit and get the entire phone working again (before the case was reattached) was definitely not trivial. Unfortunately, once everything was screwed back in, the phone stopped working again. I imagine this isn't a common scenario, as I tend to be quite hard on my phone. Gilles offered to recover my data for a discounted rate (as it wasn't water-damaged and 1 month had passed in trying to fix the problem), and I received my data without any problems. Gilles is not only technically competent, but he also has great customer service, and reasonable prices.
