Horrible products / low end / trash ... I have bought many Laptop Plugs and they all went out 3 in 6 mos!!!!!!!!

I think my 3 start rating might have more to do with nostalgia than it does with the current state of the shop. For a long time, this was my "go to" computer store. I could always find what u wanted at a reasonable price. Things seem to have gone downhill over the last couple of years. Add to this the decline in quality (and trustworthiness) of their repair bench, and I'm more inclined to shop elsewhere.

So their ads are misleading. They will post things with features that don't actually have those features. They also don't always tell you used laptops come with dents and scratches...but will still sell at advertised price, even though some are advertised as "b" stock because of dents and scratches. Also the store needs to be cleaned...it's a mess. This review is for the st.catharines store. I've only been in the Welland store once and it was cleaner and the staff more engaging.

I don't see why folks are dissing this place. It was clean and organized but they have A LOT of stock, including TV's, some unlocked cellphones and several refurb laptops. And not junk either. He had many of the recognized and trusted brands of gear. I always like a place where I'm acknowledged by the staff even if they're busy with another customer. That was the case here and it was consistent with the treatment I received from the owner and 2 sales staff. They replaced a crashed hard drive in a very short turnaround time for reasonable cost. Then when a faulty backup image I created caused me serious problems, he took it back, wiped it and reinstalled Win10 again with same day service for no charge. That's service. I also noticed other customers were treated well and left the shop happy. Thank you Scott. Wintronic will be my first choice as long as I'm in the area.

Not the Wintronics I remember.... This location used to be clean, organized and a young guy that showed up with a tie used to sit behind the desk. Now. It's a some dude that reminds me of comic book guy from the Simpsons. Who looks like he got dressed out of the back of his car and has a know it all attitude to boot. Very unorganized, manager shows up late. Forgetful. Promised a call back and they "lost" my number. Time to clean house and replace the staff and clean up the actual store. I still can't get over how messy and dark it was... Prices are great but customer service sucks.

My iPod's screen needed to be fixed. I brought it in on a Friday and the said it would be finished on the following Tuesday. It has been a month now and Scott said he would call me this afternoon but he hasn't. He says he will call me back in two hours and he thinks my iPod is done. You can't just make yup dates and get peoples hopes up. I would not recommend this company for screen repairs to anyone, because they take so long to get the work done, when a friend of mine fixed his own in under 3 hours.

I've been a customer for nearly a decade, and I'm always able to find the thing I need: be it a replacement office CPU, refurbished laptop, hardware/software upgrade, network doodad, or strange cable thingy. Expert advice and lots of cost options, especially referbished CPUs, laptops and new components that big box stores usually don't carry. The service department is spot on, if they say something is broken, it actually is...No need to drop a 1 star review because of the truth. If you are looking for a super polished storefront with uniformed staff...this isn't it. To put it another way, if you are used to taking your car to Canadian Tire for service but then decide to try the greasy little repair garage on the corner, you initially may be a bit put-off by the place, but it's actually a diamond in the rough. With that in mind, take it for what it is: a local computer store with reliable repair tech and great pricing on stuff you can't get at bestbuy

Tried to tell me my video card was broken when i went for motherboard repair then when i got my computer and left i asked where my video card was! He says it was broken i didnt think you wanted it(200$card btw) I say yes i would he goes releuctantly to get it back for me. Then when i get home sure enough video card works perfect! Keep in mind this is after i got a price estimate of 100 for something that i wanted to do myself but they pushed me into letting them do it! Then i get there and he says 150 and refuses to let me leave after he tries to steal my video card i told him give me my computer or i am calling the cops and he did! But yeah nothing but problems at this place ever! My friend bought a power supply it broke literally a week later these guys are swindlers and not friendly!

Scott got me back up and running in 24 hours and less than a quarter the cost. Thank you Scott from the very depths of my soul for retrieving all my family photos! A great store that's been in business an extremely long time. Scott the manager is extremely intelligent and can resolve most any issue. I've been in computers for many years and he had the ability to offer solutions that other stores couldn't. You can't go wrong shopping here.

I went in on a Thursday to order a video card for my son's birthday and was given a 99% assurance level that it would be there the next day on Friday. I called on Friday to be told that it would for sure be there on Tuesday and that I would be offered a bit of a discount for my waiting. Tuesday came around and I was told by Curtis that 'I forgot to place the order' and that it would be there 110% on Wednesday. The discount was also mentioned again. I received a call on Wednesday stating that the video card was in. I went in to pick it up and was fully aware of their promise of a discount when I went in. Of course, they conveniently did not provide me with a discount for my troubles when I went in to pay the balance. I didn't mention it because I wanted to see if they would keep their word. Their motto must be over-promise and under-deliver. These guys have zero integrity and have zero clue in regards to providing a proper customer experience. I will never use these guys again and it's a shame as I am building a gaming PC in the very near future. And as someone who works in the computer industry, I will definitely never recommend them.

I've been dealing with Wintronic computers for over 20 years. I've never posted a review because it has always been the go to place for everything computer\network\electronic related. I can't believe that there are not more 5 star reviews. In 20 years I've not once had a problem. All the guys and girls at the St Catharines shop are fantastic. And I can say I've been to all the locations. And they are all great to deal with.

Scott provides exceptional customer service and is extremely knowledgeable. I brought in a printer to be fixed and Scott figured out the issue and resolved it quickly. I've been in a few times and he's always very accommodating and extremely reasonable. And in response to Jesse Moseby's comment, Scott had every right to ask you to cover your nose. Masks are useless if your nose and mouth are not covered, and it's legislated that we wear them in public indoor settings.

UPDATE: I went here again today (April 30/2021) as I had an unrelated issue with my laptop. My phone wouldn't synch with my ITunes account. Scott recommended a few things and also gave me the number for Apple Support. As it turns out his recommendations worked and it definitely was user error. Scott totally could have gouged me however did not. He was amazing as always. I ended up purchasing an external hard drive as I needed one and kept putting it off. I'm glad I went there today. Thank you Scott. STOP SEARCHING FOR ANOTHER COMPANY!! After scoping out other companies It was recommended to me to bring my laptop to Wintronics. Scott was absolutely fantastic to deal with. He was patient and understanding with the issues I had. Like most people, I feared leaving my laptop with just anyone. He knew what the issues were immediately and also diagnosed a couple issues that I didn’t know I even had. Upon picking up the laptop he spent a lot of time reviewing what he fixed and also assisted with switching over the licensing for Microsoft Word. He did a lot of extra work on my laptop free of charge. His price was 100% fair and reasonable. Stop searching for another company and bring your laptop or device here, you won’t be disappointed. THANK YOU SO MUCH SCOTT YOU ROCK! PS. I was able to transfer my pics they were simply stuck in the cloud.

Been here a few times for various reasons, and had some fun conversations with staff and whatnot. I haven't had any issues with wintronics thus far. To my surprise, I was able to find SDRAM here to fix up an old desktop from around 1998 give or take a year. If I ever need to grab specific pc parts, I'll be keeping wintronics in mind.

Terrible service. I brought my phone to have the screen replaced and what I was handed back was a bunch of parts. The phone was brand new only 6 months old. They broke my phone while trying to replace the screen and claimed it is apples new software.... I took my phone elsewhere to have it looked at and they tried multiple screens with no luck. I've talked to multiple repair places who agree that they should take responsibility for this as it is not common. The manager would do nothing for me. He just made excuses and was not apologetic at all. I understand mistakes happen but I should or received some compensation. Terrible business with a terrible attitude and customer service. I wouldn't take any of my electronics here. I didn't realize that 12 year old boys were the ones carrying out the service, maybe thats the issue?
