Less than one day turn-around. Brought in my Toro snow thrower, wouldn't start. Water in carb, all cleaned + fixed up, runs like a champ. Thanks guys!

Doug Bachman

Dropped off my leaf blower for a tune up , great service with next day pick up...... It runs like a champ. As a bonus they do skate sharpening which allowed one stop shopping A great St. Albert gem !

Chris Bargy (Vortek Construction)

Absolutely terrible customer service !! I ran a service department for many years for a small engine dealer and we were required to look up part numbers for customers. This place will not look up part numbers and it was a inconvenience for the lady to give me some direction of where I would find the model number. As a certified repair center it is your responsibility to look up a part number.

Brian fixed what I can only describe as a possessed snowblower. I have had a lot of different machines into his place and always been very satisfied with the work. I also like the he takes the time to explain a bit about the repair so you can learn to do a bit of troubleshooting on your own.

Steve F

I simply call for advice to see if there's any point in getting my lawn more repaired. The person on other line didn't have any repair experience and refused to help further. Useless

Kristin B.

Thank you Brian. We love our new chainsaw! Wonderful experience. Brian gave us a step-by-step guide owning this piece of equipment. With all of the tips and tricks. All ready to go with fuel and working condition. Went in for a chainsaw and walked out very happy with a new, nice quality and, sturdy gas powered chain saw! Would highly recommend this store. -Can't wait for my Lawnmower to die, so I can come back! Thanks again.

I drove there all the way from Edmonton hoping to find and buy a control wire To replace a torn one for my snow blower, the guy behind the desk there took one digusted look at the torn wire and said they don’t carry that part as the blower is made in China and offered no help or recommendations as the blower wasn’t bought from them. Then I went to another shop, Ar-Jays snow Eqpt at 12862 52 st in Edmonton, the guy there took the time to inspect the wire but said they don’t carry it, but he fixed it for me (in 5 mins) for no Charge!! Thanks Ar-jays for your help, and for Bj’s staff, try to make the customer feel appreciated so they will buy from you in future. So Definitely will never go back to Bj’s, as they weren’t helpful at all.

Sorry, I was asked for a review the day after I dropped off a weed wacker for service. So , what I mean is that I awaiting a call when it is ready, at which time I can do a proper completed service review.

Went looking for a snowblower as a gift to my father in law. Found exactly what he needed, at an amazing price, got a nice demo of the unit and a great rundown of all the info we needed. I’ll be recommending this place to all my family and friends and be coming back for sure.

Wasn't a friendly welcome, I came into the store and he looked up but all he said is what can I do? I asked help and without taking a good look, he told me the cost and went on his business and when I asked him a question, the phone rings and he tells me to wait and answers the phone and talks with them rather putting them on hold. If you own a business, educate yourself on customer service, I don't recommend him, would never go to that store. What a shame.

Expert no nonsense advice and service

Love this place. They have bin around forever and they are always quick. Even for odd ball items they will take a look and they won't lie to you if it's not worth the fix.

Just picked up my 33 year old mountain bike that was in for a tune up - well done.

Fritz Kropfreiter

Rude and dismissive!

All work is supposed to be guaranteed 90 days. He had my dryers for nearly a year and still has almost$200 of my money. He said to my face he does not need to communicate. I got my dryers back in pieces. Absolutely garbage business. If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT GO HERR. THEY ARE THEIVES

I went to the shop on a Saturday noon to check if they sell dust bags for my vacuum cleaner. After telling him the brand name of the vacuum cleaner, he asked me if it’s a one or two hole replacement bags. I said one and he showed me a package with 3 bags which costs $31.00. Upon closer look, I said they seem to be wider than my present bags and that I should check first before buying the bags. He said in a rude tone that they were the right replacement bags. I said to him as I was leaving that he was rude and also mentioned that I just had my lawnmower tuned up a week ago by them and because of his arrogant attitude, I would never do business with them again. By the way, when I was on the phone a week ago booking for the tune up, he also sounded rude when I asked a question. I am not sure if the man I was dealing with, who was by himself at the shop at the time, is the owner of the business or not. If he is, he should go back to school and learn good manners and public relations!!! You are in the wrong business!! You can keep all the loyal customers as you claim but you can never count on me doing business with you again. Beware of this business, customer service is for the birds! No respect to customers.

Moe Rahall

Horrible , this guy had attitude and was rude from the minute I walked in . Didn't help me load lawn moor back into truck . Charged me for 3 days that it stayed extra because I have a full time job and couldn't make it back until my next day off . Asked me if i don't read English .... Horrible horrible attitude and person running this shop ... I would not support this Buisness just because how rude this Bj man is

Ryan Rocheleau

This place has the best rates for service on bikes compared to Bike Shops. I've taken my Trek, Giant, and Norco bikes here and have never had a problem. Save your money.

Andrew R (Rodie18t)

I was referred to this operation from Canadian tire to perform a warranty evaluation for my lawn mower. To this day I am baffled by all the break downs in the way they approached me as a customer, upon asking simple questions for process and procedure as nothing was explained, I was met with rude and absolute atrocious shortness. Outside of the woman that works there, this place in my view is a complete write off, a full week later and the lawnmower hasn't even been touched or looked at. I can't say enough negative about my personal experience with this shop.

Bev Nobis

Don't ever take your vacuum cleaner here for repairs! My power nozzle stopped working a couple of months ago and it took 6 trips to his shop, $85 and I still ended up with a vacuum cleaner that didn't work. He kept saying there was nothing wrong with it and implied I must be doing something wrong. It was an extremely frustrating experience. I finally took it to Jiffy Vac in Edmonton yesterday and they had it fixed in one day. Everything I said is completely true and BJ obviously has memory loss. Maybe a picture of my receipts will jog his memory! What a joke. I have already wasted too much time on this!

These guys have been looking after my 30 year old lawnmower for years and it continues to run like a charm. Their pick up and drop off is also so convenient for the tune-ups. They went out of their way this time. After fixing the bag with rivets many years ago, it was on its last legs and trying to find a bag for a lawnmower that old is a huge challenge. They took it and said they could see what they could do. Picked up a replacement bag today which they had saved from an old lawnmower that someone had decided not to fix. I didn't have much hope but BJ's were terrific and came through. Thank you for the great service! ????

Brian was great to deal with. No only was he able to pick up my snowblower the same day I called him but he had it repaired and running like new and delivered back to my house the very next day. From start to finish I had an awesome experience and I will definitely call him again in the future for future repair or service work.

Christine Hoskins

They picked up and dropped off my lawnmower after I stopped the driver on my street. It runs like new now. They also had my snowblower up and running in a couple hours.

Barbara Loree

Good work, quick and reliable.

Ron Pettigrew (VE6RWP)

Great service great prices

Brad Buffett

Would give Negative Stars if I could. Don’t waste your time going here. Expects you to pay even tho he can’t do his job. Your better off trying to fix it yourself first and saving the money or just go to a reputable service shop.

I had a lawn trimmer that would start and run at idle only. Took it to BJ's for repair. That was in July. It wasn't they were unable to get to immediately, fine. Gave approval for repairs and left them to it. Wasn't ready until August. Brought it home, and it ran 5 minutes, and quit, with gas seeping out of the carburetor, so returned it to BJs. He said no problem, he will fix it again, which he did at no charge...but it was a month later! ( with the understanding that I was going away). When I went to pick it up again, there was gas spilling from the carburetor, and it actually made a puddle of gas on his counter, so I left it with them. I have since picked it up again, and it does appear to be working fine, but I have only got one use of it, as it was November. We will see how it does in the spring.

Courtney Hanak

Love this place. Quick turn around time and they go the extra mile. Easy to deal with and good prices!!

I had brought in a chain saw and lawn mower and told them to clean the chain saw and make the mower work. Instead they cleaned the chainsaw and that was fine. However the lawn mower wasnt at all cleaned or fixed it was diagnosed as the electric start won't work so I have to pull start it. I got half way to a job and realized it looks pretty dirty I called them on the road and asked them does the pull start work and they replied. I don't know we never checked that. What kind of shop doesn't check wlto see if the engine accually runs and calls back with a real repair so they could call back and make a doller. Saw 60 lawn mower 100. Won't be going back. End of story.

Cara Pfeifer

BJ's went above and beyond for me today knowing I needed my equipment and its prime season, also knowing I'm just a small company and have little mouths to feed. I was quoted 1-2 weeks from other companies to get the belt pulley system repaired/replaced (it bent) on my power rake. I brought it in today, he went and picked up the part and got it back to me all fixed by mid afternoon. I was so worried how much a rental would cost to be able to continue my cleanups on top of the repair. So thankful to have this shop so close and available

Kenneth Macmullen

The owner or the mechanic in charge flat out told me that he doesn't give away advice for free. I was just trying to buy some parts from a girl behind the counter, when he got involved. I guess that he is the only person in the world that knows how to fix a 5 hp snowblower. And won't give away any of his trade secrets. Little does he know some people out their in the world, also pull wrenches for a living and if they want to just buy a part, and fix their own machine let them. Worst service person to deal with always in a bad mood and really seams like he hates people. I pitty anybody that would bring their machine in to this guy. BJ likes to agrue with customers and make people feel lower than him, maybe go to a PR course & grab some people skills. If you want to argue with that look at you ratings you are the only business that has a rating below 3 in a 10 mile radius. Go figure.

Tony Bruha

Don't go away mad Brian, just go away. what a clown, I don't understand why anyone would go back.

I just left bjs I brought in a couple of gears Brian looked at them told me that he doesn't deal in those but directed me to a place that probably could help me with what I need thank you

Waste of time. Brought in a weed whacker for repair. He looks at it while i'm holding it, says it just needs a new shaft, find the part number and i'll order it for you. I find the part number. And he leaves me on hold for 20min

Anil Nand

These guys are amazing. Fixed and tuned up my snow blower. Very professional. Only took a few days. Love these guys Anil

Tyler Balansche

Very short with me on the phone gave a quote of double of the the next place I went to as I thought he was quite rude.

Suzanna Hickey-Myers

We brought in a mower and troy built tiller were told about five days for service. The job was done in one. Both ran tip top.We experienced nothing but top notch sevice and repair costs were reasonable.Would go back in a heart beat. Thanks guys!

I’ve been to this joint a few times and I Love it!!! Most recently took my Dyson Vacuum there. The guy fixes in a timely fashion. Cheap prices. Always explains the problem. Glad to find this place in St. Albert. I would recommend and I will be back. To all the negative people....good luck finding a better place.

All of a sudden, my mower would start. Brought it to BJ's and had a tune up on it. Came back 2 days later - the thing was like brand new. All cleaned up and polished! Started with one pull. Will definitely go back.

Brianna Houde

it had great service. He worked hard to fix my stuff. How did I find BJ's you ask? Well I found them on a sign and now I regularly visit. Overall I had a wonderful experience and I would come back in a heartbeat. I totally recommend BJ's!!

Marshall Megley

We dropped off a tire from our snowblower and asked for them to get a price to replace it. They were to get back to us in 3 days. 7 days later we still had heard anything. When my husband phoned, the owner Brian said he had the tire in front of him... but hadn't had time to bother.. He had a bad attitude and obviously doesn't want new customers. We will never go there again and would not recommend him to anyone. If you need service or parts go the Phil's small engine repair in St. Albert. They took care of us immediately.

David Edwards

Excellent service, as always

Bry

Needed a new Recoil for a snowblower. Gave the model # and even the part #. They still wanted me to leave the snowblower with them. All I asked was if they could order the part and when I came in I would drop the snowblower off to get fixed. Lady at the front desk didn't even have a computer to look up the part right there. Left my info and contact so she could get back to me. I never heard back from them. Called another business and they gave me everything I need to know right over the phone. Don't wast your tone with this place. No help at all.

Love this shop! I've known Brian for years and this guy can fix just about anything. He's fixed our snowblower, lawnmowers, generator, chainsaws...….you name it. Fast turn around and very reasonable prices.

Ken Ginther

I won't be back and wouldn't recommend BJ's to anyone. Brought in a trimmer because the pull cord had seized and a lawn mower that wasn't running properly. They supposedly did a carb kit on the mower which hasn't fixed the problem. And the trimmer, well I can pull the cord but it doesn't start. Could be because they put it back together backwards? Shaft pieces don't match at the joints (contoured so I don't know how they can miss it) and is attached to the head of the unit so the wiring/hoses come right down in front of where you have to pull start it. I'm not an expert but this place doesn't have one either. Took the trimmer back and after two weeks they hadn't touched it. Picked it up and will have someone else fix their mistakes. Hope this guy isn't in business much longer and won't get any referrals from me. You know, do a good job and I'll tell 5 friends. Do a bad job and I'll tell 50.

Alecia Marie

Brian gave my vacuums new life!!! I brought in my Shop Vacs that had been having troubles and he was able to get them back running good as new! The work was completed faster than expected and he was helpful explaining what needed to be fixed and why. Answered all of my questions well, friendly, professional, and happy with the quality of service. This will be my go to place for any future repairs! Thanks Brian! :)

Stacey Ponich

I have repeatedly attempted to use this business for parts and service over the past 9years for my lawnmower, snowblower, blower and trimmer and each time am reminded why i do not recommend this business at all. Each time i contact them it is simply because they are the closest service centre for the product i own. I always give them a chance and am always reminded why they are not my first choice and why i dont recommend them. They are always the rudest people to deal with, prices are ridiculously high, they are very arrogant, never helpful and will definitely not meet your expectations.

Stan Zizek

Very helpful with all yard equipment to buy or repair.

Frank Klinge

Great service and very fast! Brought in my damaged lawnmower wheel which was repaired in 2 hours. Very friendly and respectful, I will recommend this Shop to my friends.

Have been doing business with BJ's for 20 years and service is always fast, efficient, and well executed. Owner is a very busy guy who is busy fixing people's stuff, not making small talk with people. I appreciate the job they do here every time and they are always working late to make sure people have their equipment back asap. They close at 6 on fridays, and I swung by at 8, they were still working and I picked up my mower, cleaned and fixed within 1 day. Beauty.

Dave Anderson

If anyone still goes to this place I would be very cautious. I took my snow blower in last year and was told I needed a new carburetor. Although I found the gentleman quite rude, I had him replace the carb, paid my bill and didn't think I would return as I mentioned I found his from of the house attitude quite appalling. Now that's my reason for my review, I took my machine in again this year to a different shop and explained to them what happened last year. They couldn't believe I purchased a new carburetor as they told me everything was factory. They also informed me they get a lot of business with people sharing similar unimpressed experiences from BJ's. If you are reading this I highly recommend you go anywhere else. I will however mention, that after reading many other negative reviews, I am curious to what his excuse will be this time, along with his ridiculous use of capital letters. Anyways never going back so take care Brian.

John Bennett

Quick and easy service. Nice job.

Roy Gilham

Took my mower which was running when I put it away in the fall. Pulled it out this week and wouldn't start and because a friend had asked me to drop hers off to have the self propel fixed. Figured I would take my lawnmower in for a tuneup which was advertised on their website at $69.95 plus parts and taxes. Handed me a bill for $200.00 for a tuneup. Will never take ANYTHING to this company.

Kevin Krzanstek

Professional and courteous staff. Dropped off my Honda generator to be tuned up and the turn around was 3 days. Very impressed. Was also given a great deal on an Echo chainsaw while in the shop. Brian is a master... if it’s in need of repair ... he will fix it. If he can’t it was destined for the garbage to begin with. Was also very impressed with the work area, clean and organized. Know where I will be taking all of my concerns in the future. Thanks also to Kelly who assisted me getting the equipment loaded in my truck.

We come here every year to trade our skates! Love the old school home business. Ill be taking my grandpas recliner lift chair remote in tomorrow to get it soldered. Nothing he cant fix. :)

I've know Brian for 25 years and always had mild results with repairs but i put up with it even when he charged me $375 to repair a $100 generator. Hey, his St. Albert. I brought my 2 weed eaters in on May 15, 2016 and on July 5 I said my Mother just pasted away and i have to leave tomorrow for a week. After 7 week (in the height of grass cutting season) are my weed eaters ready? His response was "We all have our own problems" and can you come back in a couple of days. I was so upset then and a year later it still bothers me. Cold-hearted, grumpy & unprofessional. Never again. I can't trust a man that tosses 25 years of friendship away like a tissue.

David Lesenko

Amazing service will be back!

Brian made the suction of our 20 year Central Vacuum like new again, at a reasonable price. Thank you so much for your dedication to repairs. People like you are very hard to find.

I needed a simple cheap rubber piece to repair my snowblower. I had called Lawnmower Hospital then noticed that they were clear across Edmonton. I went to BJ’s for the same part which cost double here in St Albert!! I mentioned that this same part is 7.99 at Lawnmower Hospital- the (owner?) said “then go there and get it” (kinda funny I guess- if you ignore how rude and backwoods that actually is to hear). Zero F’s given by this counter person and reading some of this place’s other reviews regarding service and billing are a fair warning to unsuspecting patrons to steer well clear. This place certainly counts on St Albert people for one time visits- and one time only. My advice is to plan your alternate service and repair needs with places that will respect you and not fleece you, as you travel within reach of those businesses. Owner means to say “ everyday I thank the Lord I can come up with an excuse “ Hey Buddy, you’re way over priced and take advantage of “local economy” seekers - OWN IT!

I had Eddie's Small Engine repair work on my snowblower and when it was returned it still did not work.He wanted to charge me $250, when he originally quoted $150. The only thing he did was a sparkplug and oil change .When he brought it back it still did not run, he said it ran at his shop and he tried to start it again but it wouldn't start.H e said it was just a piece of junk. l refused to pay him. I then took it to BJ . Brian had it repaired and running by the next day for half the price. I was very pleased with the results and the very friendly and professional job done. I highly recommend them ☺️

Bad customer service and below average work. Got ripped off. Do not do business with this horribly rude and shady owner!!! from the looks of his reviews, looks like i'm not the only one.

Had my mother’s steam cleaner for over 2 months. First 2 weeks - needed a part. 3rd week, they sent the wrong part. Week 4 she called for an update and he snapped at her, demanding he will call when it’s ready for pick up. As he needed to reorder it. Week 5, 6, 7 etc.... nothing. It was October 30 over 2 months since the initial “repair”. I call for a status update, he was rude off the bat, said my mom needed to order the part and he’s been waiting for her to do so. What a joke. I told him I’ll be picking up the steam cleaner the following day and he says “please do”. What an interesting way of conducting a business.

Jody Williamson

Picked up my snowblower from my house, rebuilt my carburetor and dropped it off a couple days later. Will definitely be using them again!

Dave Henry

Excellent customer service!

Rude.

Garrett LeBlanc

The worst customer service I have experienced anywhere, regardless of service. Now I am sure that this review will be met with a "he didn't tell the whole story....." response as that seems to be the response when given a negative review, so here is the whole story. I took my mother's lawnmower in, because as embarrassing as this sounds, I couldn't get the cover to the battery to completely seal. I asked how long would they have it for was told 3 days, which surprised me and apparently my repeat of 3 days was mistaken as a complete over reaction. I then took my truck around back and was met at the gate by one of the two guys, never got his name, I simply asked if he might have a tip to get this battery fully seated in the lawn mower. I was abruptly told "I ain't giving you any tips, you can leave it or not. There's a 6 week wait for places in the city" then he stormed off without even taking my lawn mower. So I called this amazingly well mannered gentleman back (hopefully sarcasm can be detected) and told him to calm down I was simply asking, told him his attitude sucked, customer service was brutal, etc. I left my lawnmower there and proceeded home. However, it really bothered me that the first response was one of anger and defensiveness, when I was only asking a simple question. So I turned around and went and got my lawnmower back. i would rather take it to a place where my business will be appreciated. To BJ's if my repetition of "3 days" was in your mind a piss poor attitude and you took it a anger then sorry about that. But I still proceeded to leave my lawnmower and even when slapnuts in the back wanted to go up one side of me and down the other I still left it. I came back for it because at the end of the day you are in a business that provides customer service. And from what I was told, you did provide customer service. Obviously I was misinformed. I can tell you I will tell everyone I know that. The customer is not always right, but they should always be treated with respect. I anxiously await the response of "I guess they didn't want to tell the whole story"

Pipermac0742

Ok....I called Brian 2 days ago with a snowblower that wouldn't start. I asked if he could pick it up in Edmonton. For a reasonable fee his staff picked it up at 11am today. At 7pm today, his staff brought it back working perfectly after rebuilding the carb. It runs better than when i bought it. I am so impressed by the discussions on the phone, the quick pick up, turn around delivery and service on the machine. I highly recommend Brians shop. Well done. Gary McCartney

Brought my lawnmower in on Thursday afternoon. Called Friday afternoon. All fixed up. Very nice to deal with. Not sure why a bad review was given by other people. Will be bringing rototillers in for repairs when needed.

i didnt like the checkout chick as she smelled funny

No communication. Dropped my part off in May for them to look at. Waited 3 weeks and called back, they said they hadn't touched it because they were moving.

John Cameron

They took a very long time to repair my lawnmower. Called me when I was out of town, then charged me storage when I couldn't pick it up right away. Very inflexible. Said it was my problem!! Your response confirms my perspective "Strict Policy" is another way to describe "Very Inflexible" You are right "it was my problem" that I don"t have anyone else with a vehicle that can accommodate a lawnmower. As I explained to you when you called I was out of town with my truck. Your response was "that"s your problem". I have relayed my perspective. We will let the readers of this review make their own assessment. To say in your response "you may be aware of the corona virus" is just another unfortunate example of the flippant and condescending attitude you exhibited in our encounter with you. Checkout yp.ca reviews!

Darryl Haluke

Well he didn't seem to want to spend more than 30 seconds with me. I had a couple simple questions about a chainsaw I purchased (privately) and he didn't really care to help me out! I asked him if I could just buy a tank of mixed gas for the chainsaw and he said no, I need it he replied! I asked him please as I only had about a fifteen minute job to do and offered to pay $5, he grumbled and said Well, pull out your $5. Tried to be as nice as possible but he didn't seem to care, yet people obviously known to him were walking in and it was like they were Royalty. So I guess if you love to be treated like dirt, I would not EVER step another foot in this non customer care business!!!!!

EMILIO CIAMPA

Wanted to buy .50 cent nut for my leaf blower. Basically told me he couldn't bother looking for it if it was less than $ 20. The rudest and worst service I have ever seen Rest assured I will never be back to this retailer

John Paxwell

Good news, they are not very busy and if you call they’ll probably be able to get your machine in within the hour. Bad news, just like many of the reviews on here have stated, the owner is a rude, grumpy, arrogant person. He seems very insecure in the sense if you ask any questions he gets upset. If you live in St Albert ask around and everyone has a story about this guy. Has the reputation as an arrogant owner that tries to take advantage of every penny he can get out of you. If you are reading reviews, it’s very simple, do NOT go here. The guy is a joke and cannot fix a thing.

Amelie Oxford

Unhelpful, rude and terrible customer service!! Will never, ever seek their help again and will make sure to tell people to avoid shopping here.

Dennis Allen

Great group their. Very knowledgeable

Michael Erickson

Great workmanship and product knowledge.

I think I may have been the last person in St. Albert that had anything decent to say about this business/owner. Don't get me wrong, the actual servicing of any equipment I've ever taken here - and there's been several - hasn't been a problem - a little on the pricey side maybe - so in that sense I would give 3.5 -4.0 stars. Customer service and/or customer relations .... THAT, is a horse of a different colour. This guy should stay in the back and work on equipment and stay away from customers. Just like the vast majority of reviews here, the owner can be very off-putting, comes off as very arrogant and sometimes down right rude. I've experienced it and have witnessed it as well. You've gotten your last penny out of me. I'll go elsewhere from now on. If there's anyone out there who's got skills in small engine repair, etc., open a business in St. Albert and you'll make a fortune on X-customers from this place.

No parts! No service! No go there

I am extremely pleased with the quality of work done by BJ’s Fix It. I had my Toro lawnmower serviced last week and while my first impression was that it was a bit more expensive than I had in my mind the quality of work was exceptional. I now deem the price extremely fair considering the thorough work. My lawnmower has never run this well even when it was brand new. It was picked up on time and dropped off within the window that I was quoted. Quality work done by an honest local company. I highly recommend BJ’S!

Actually what I expected was some type of customer service. My "issues" had to do with your attempt to conduct a very poorly run business. Good businesses inform their customers of any charges ahead of time either by a sign, verbally or something. You know so the customer can make an informed decision. They also give you back your item in the same condition you have it to them. Not purposely broken with a bag of screws!? Still cant believe I paid this guy to wreck my lawnmower but it was either that or he keeps it and re-sells it. I took my lawnmower there to support a local business and it bit me. He has an excuse for my review but there are many more like it. Everybody else must have "issues" too.

HORRIBLE customer service! Bought a lawnmower there that stopped working the day I bought it! Told Brian I wanted a refund. He said there were no refunds. When I told him he didn't tell me that at time of purchase, he said with a smirk, "YOU DIDN'T ASK!" Stear clear of this guy's business. Despicable cocky attitude.

Simply shocking. Rude and questionable abilities. Never every again.

Before you throw it out, take it to Brian at BJS Fix it, he is able to fix so much more then the average person thinks! Try him you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

I brought in a Honda 2000 to get serviced and they had it fixed and running like a gem within a couple days. Friendly and helpful staff with amazing rates. For small engine repairs I give a 5 star and best in Edmonton.

I dislike leaving negative reviews but he sure earned this. Dropped off my fairly elderly chainsaw for sharpening and a tune up. $135 and 3 weeks later it did not start or run that well. Took it back. The owner was not very polite and I told him so. Well, he kept the chainsaw for 2+ weeks and only after I called him was it ready for pickup a few days later. Went there and he actually said he did NOTHING to it and wanted me to show him how I start the chainsaw. Wow. He is an impolite and difficult person. I would never take anything to him to fix ever again, even finger-nail clippers. I am sure he will try to say I am wrong but I have only put the honest truth in here.

I’m not one to usually leave reviews but this was that awful of an experience. I took my lawn mower in because gas was leaking. Everything seemed to go ok as when I picked it up I was explained they redid the carburetor and put on a new blade. Never asked for a blade but oh well, it probably needed one. Anyways, as I was loading it up we started it and it immediately began dripping gas again. Same issue I had before. I left it and came back the next day. Was explained there was a crack in the gas tank and they repaired it. I bring it home and 3 days later notice the gas tank is empty and it was still dripping. I just called back and explained my frustration. The gentlemen that originally referred me apologized to me and also will not bring any of his equipment back. I would not recommend anyone to go here. They seem to be having a tough go with repairs.

B. J.’s Fix-It Shop is simply the best! The owner Brian sells outstanding equipment at competitive prices. But most importantly, Brian services what he sells. All machines breakdown, and when they do Brian is there to make them good as new. Repairs are always fixed right and fixed fast. I highly recommend B. J.’s Fix-It Shop for all your small engine needs.

I have been using BJ's Fix It for over 20 years. I have been very happy with the service and workmanship. Service is quick and priced fairly. Advice to keep things in good working order is accurate. A great local shop!

On 2 occasions, looking for parts i was waiting for approximately 5 minutes before I was served (which I understand, people are busy). I had the part for my machine in hand for the second time, (different unrelated part) and whoever the gentleman was that I made contact with strait out said "come back with the part number. As a customer going to a Briggs and stratton service center and dealer, I am not quite comprehending why I need to do the job of the dealer to get parts. I have been in the small engine business myself for 20 years and would NEVER EVER treat a client the way this "business" does. I would have been skidded if I ever did. I am even going to go out of my way to also forward the reviews of this business to Briggs and stratton so that they are aware of who is representing them. Long story short, I conducted my business with Alberta Small engines instead of this joke of a business. They had the inventory and I was out the door with my part in less time than I was waiting to be served at BJ. If there was an option to give a lower rating, I would have chosen that option. I really hope that one day someone clocks this useless piece of waste as the city of St. Albert deserves better.

Perfect always has parts at decent prices for my weedeater brand trimmer, Murray lawnmower, Toro snowblower. Also bought used carb for my lawnmower and it worked as new. One neat story I have is that my Canadian Tire quality weedeater brand trimmer was having problems. I went to another repair place close to my house and was told Weedeaters are junk and we don't bother to repair them. Well after watching some Youtube I found out the problems and went to BJ's and he had the parts and I put them in. Now still running after 4 years! And this guy said to avoid BJ's because they are aZZ holes. What do I care, just get me the parts so I don't have to buy another trimmer. And they were good to deal with. To all the 1 star reviews I will say this. IF you are not prepared to get your hands dirty, inquire yourself with You tube for repairs or online sources, then expect to pay the going rates for everything if you dump it there and say fix it.

Bj's tuned up my lawnmower and was instructed to check the cable that drives the back wheels. The tune up was done correctly but they repaired the transmission without approval. The instructions were to check the cable. When I tested the mower the hand leaver would not stop the mower from moving forward. I checked the invoice they dropped off to see if they left notes on my cable problem. Thats when I realized they had an extra $120 for repairing the transmission. The owner was abrasive and was saying it didn't matter if the work was approve because it was already worked on. If you google this company there is a long list of customers with the same issue. Avoid at all costs!

I can’t express my sincerest gratitude enough to BJs. We had an amazing experience that, although may seem small, had brought tears to my girlfriends eyes when she came home. My girlfriend brought in a dancing frosty the snowman that wasn’t working properly anymore...this is a small item for a business like BJs to have a look at but we thought we’d try anyway. She had this frosty for a long time from her mom and it means a lot to her. When we dropped it off, he was unbelievably nice, very personable, and funny. You could tell he had a good heart. A couple days later my girlfriend went to pick it up and it was all fixed up as good as new. She came home and when I opened the door she pushed the play button and frosty was dancing like he was brand new. Her smile was brighter than the lit up snowflakes frosty swings around in his hand. She told me that she went in and felt like a kid again when he pushed the button and her frosty started dancing and singing. I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name, but I assume you’re BJ (the owner), told my girlfriend merry Christmas and didn’t charge her a dime for his time, work, effort, material he may have used...she began to cry when she told me. It’s he smallest gestures like this, especially in a year full of stress and anxiety, that can turn someone’s entire week around. Thank you...very very much for bringing such an amazing joy to Rebeca’s heart, BJ. You’re a thoughtful person with a great heart, and I would recommend your business a thousand times over. Merry Christmas my friend

Sells me supposedly a reconditioned lawnmower for 375 never changed the oil or filter had another service place review and change matters and give me oil n filter to show while I was there watching. Wow what a way to treat a customer

Ive used BJs twice in the past 3 summers. Both times they picked up, repaired, and dropped off my mower within a day. This particular time, I called at peak season and my mower was picked up the same day with a phone call and delivery by lunch time the next day. Whether you find him friendly or abrupt, he's efficient and reasonably priced. Thats what I care about when my lawn is a foot long and my mower won't start! Thanks Brian!

Horrible parts department, I asked for a part and the parts man said to look it up myself and call him back and hung up on me
