Too expensive. I had the all-inclusive package once upon a time to the tune of ++$400/month.
Customer Service gets ALL THESE 3 STARS. Internet service is slow even at the higher packages/prices. Customer service isn't bad. I wish we could get other internet service providers to drive down prices a bit. It's painful knowing people are paying the same for WAAAAY BETTER INTERNET SERVICES.

If you love to have your internet throttled, wait for your online videos to buffer on a 50 Mbps line, and pay for a service you don't get, then this is the company for you.

Terrible Connectivity Problem, and Terrible Experience with CSR's, I've been hung up on, and once I've even had a CSR Fake Bad connection to force call Hang up! I've worked as Inbound Operator for Private Company Answer Plus Communications in Nanaimo BC, and this was a Sad Experience to Operator Conduct
Upgrades are coming to our neighbourhood soon! The staff downtown are professional and friendly. City West are community minded and take part in community events.

I always pay them monthly but they didn't tell me that I will get penalize if I don't pay them on time. Even if I pay them month to month. It's like having a credit card with interest rates. It has fooled me big time. Taking advantage because they are the only provider.
Just terrible... dropped connection average 20 to 30 times a day. Can't get work done. Can't even play a game online if I desired. Called for weeks to fix the modem, which I think is the issue, and I keep being told I have to wait for an admin to call me back.

As far as cable companies go, most would say that they are all pretty bad. Well Citywest takes the trophy for terrible. I've been having issues with my internet for more than 6 weeks now and besides waiting 1-2 weeks between each of their attempt at fixing it, there isn't much else that I can do. I've been told "someone will call you to set an appointment", nope. I call 2 weeks later and I'm told they don't know why nobody showed up but someone will be there next week. What? Someone showed up, twice (a week apart) and didn't fix the issue. Now someone was supposed to call me Monday to replace the cables going to the house, we're Saturday I'm still waiting. As far as service goes, ignoring customers and having them having to call you, is just plain unprofessional and disorganized and rude. If I don't call back for the 20th time I'm sure they won't ever come back to me. When there's no other cable company in town, that's how complacent you can be.

Oh my God i don't know where to start. If i had another choice other than telus i would change in a sec. Zero customer service, Norel is in charge of the Region and she never calls you back when you leave a message. I called like 5 times and never does she call you back. I e-mailed her saying please call me. 4 days later she e-mails me saying she will call me tomorrow, well tomorrow never come with her. Finally i got a hold of someone else and he is nice and helpful. He says that he constantly get these complaints about her. So he was going to contact his supervisor who is above her to call me. Well that never happened. Tomorrow i will contact Vise President of customer service and i hope something can done. So first `i wanted to get a line pulled,4 months later nothing but the new owner that bought house next to me got his pulled and internet within 2 weeks while i am still waiting. Than Norel was going to call me about charges and internet stuff. Because she never called it was all a surprise when i got internet i never gotten a wifi router, than after 1 day the internet stopped working. I called and 5 days later someone came to fix it. I want telephone from them also but hell NO. With this service might as well go to dial up from Telus ,but at least i am getting customer service. Edit: Well we have gotten a New representative who is Awesome (thanks Debbie). She actually answers her phone and has come by at least 3 times. We are still having problems with our internet but sometimes stuff happens when you switch from analog to digital. We will see what happens

A city west serviceman showed up at my house, yelled at me about how my house was taking out half the blocks internet. I demand an apology for how I was treated by this serviceman.

Feelings about CityWest are different for everyone and mine was in the negative until today.. I was upgraded to 5x faster speed for only $5 more a month, but the truly awesome experience was meeting Dave S, a former Houle employee, he went above and beyond, he was sent here to swap modems, but did some testing and troubleshooting and found a handful of other things that were slowing my internet down a lot and fixed them, including climbing the pole to swap a piece to make the speed what it should be, seriously, how often do you get that kind of service?!?
Only company in town, unfortunately. So far, I haven't been able to give a good review on Citywest, as every week or couple days I come across another problem. Please address and fix these problems, Citywest...you know what they are.
Terrible... Competing with Fiber, its only a matter of time before they go bankrupt. I just hope its soon so my roommate can change to Telus. The latency I suddenly get during a game goes up to 1500-2500 ms. I have no other programs using internet open nor do I have anyone else using the internet. I'm guessing its other people in the neighborhood. Which if this is their explanation... No. That's a terrible explanation. "We only give good service when no one else uses it"... That is BS and you shouldn't be charging so much for a sub-par service. I don't think they've updated their equipment. Probably don't have the money to either. No point in trying to talk to them because there is nothing they can do to fix this issue. As you can't fix shared connections other than making separate connections.

Stupid me, stuck in a 2yr contract with basic cable/internet pkg for almost $100 and yet you have crap for available channels and the internet suck balls!!NOT HAPPY!!!
Stuck on Quantum 10. Hopefully the upgrades will help but we're skeptical. On the other hand Telus is making their way to our neighborhood. There is light at the end of the tunnel...

We have the quantum High speed internet and we are have a bad problem with Internet connection problems. I could be the only one on the Internet and have trouble loading netflix. I would recommend to somewhere else but can't cause it the only one in town

I just realized my parents have double the speed at the SAME PRICE?! Why is it that they get fibre speeds, while I get DSL speeds at 6pm every evening? I live alone ffs!

Always friendly service however been fighting poor internet over 10 years now in section 4 in Rupert . Still terrible internet , last service call internet was decent for 1 day then terrible again ... previous service call 11 days of decent internet then terrible again and this was all before the floods causing present disruptions
I don’t have to go in very often (which is a good thing!) but when I do everyone is always friendly and provide excellent customer service.

High speed internet sometimes...sometimes so painfully slow wonder why I pay them the $$ to suffer. Weekends when the whole town is surfing the internet it's not worth the agony of trying to use your computer.
Hi, When I discovered we could get closed captions on some channels on our new TV but not on other channels, I contacted the CityWest customer service people. They confirmed they had the same trouble and that they'd refer the matter to their technicians. And when the customer service person called back the very next day back to ask if our problem was solved and she discovered it wasn't, she offered to send a tech to our house. Wade arrived within half an hour and after speaking to some of his people, the situation was resolved then and there and we now have closed captions on all channels. All in all, fast and efficient and friendly service. Love it. Rod Link Terrace, B.C.
I have always had good costumer care.
Purchased a house and tried to transfer existing internet over. Last technician they had on the house removed the gigabox(?) From the house, which is required for service. Made us wait a week for them to come fix THEIR mistake, and they didnt show up during the hours they said. I write this review while waiting for someone to show up. If there were another option for service in this town I would go with company thats a little more customer oriented.

Great service with little downtime for the 2 years I’ve had them. Extremely competitive rates and the fiber upgrade was great.
We got a new modem, the idiot out here didn't write down the MAC address like his job dictates. So, we got a hateful call from CityWest demanding the MAC address while we were at work or we'd get our internet cut off within three hours. Yet, the internet worked fine for the previous three days without the MAC address. Not like there's anyone to complain to about being dogged around like this. Good old ISP monopoly at it's finest.
Like many others have mentioned, they're the only internet service provider in town. Having an issue? Constantly told "we'll look into it" and customer service just never seems to get around to it. I've been addressing the same issue for months and nothing has been done. It's just a matter of time before another company moves into town and these guys go out of business.

Good customer service, but the services offered are spotty. But don't get me wrong. When the services are going, they're great. but they tend crash or services tend to stop operating.
