My wife dropped her new iPhone 7 Plus and even with a protective case the screen cracked. We have Apple Care and called Apple, they recommended a few of the closest Apple Stores to the Peterborough area and also a local Apple Authorized Service Provider. After reading some very poor reviews of the closest recommended Apple Stores, we decided to look locally to the Apple Authorized Service Provider, Maar’s Music. We walked in with the phone on a Saturday at opening and we were served right away, appointments are probably best though as they seem very busy. Upon presenting the phone, they examined the phone and looked up the Apple Care information, they informed us that for the screen replacement they would have to send the phone away, it would go out on Monday and it should take about a week. They made sure our phone was backed up and we were provided with a brand new iPhone 6 loaner, which they put our SIM card into and made sure it was working before we left the store. On Thursday we received an email from Maar’s Music informing us the phone was back and ready for pickup, wow! We took the loaner back, it was checked over, they made sure we had backed up everything, then wiped the loaner and put our SIM card back in our phone and made sure everything was working before leaving the store. We have to say the service was amazing, as was the staff, a great experience all around and we would highly recommend Maar’s Music for all your Apple products for warranty and non warranty repairs or service. Took in an older iMac for a diagnostic and got it back 7 weeks later. I had some concerns about the condition of the iMac when we got it back. When I contacted Maars about my concerns I received a very aggressive email stating that I was lying and the matter was considered closed, and if I pursued it further i would face legal action. I followed up with documentation to address my concerns and was again threatened with legal action and accused of trying to extort the business *do not recommend*

I have been shopping at Maars for almost 10 years now. They are who I call for information on my pro recording studio,guitar and computer equipment. If they don't have the product then they will get it fast at a competitive price. However, more importantly they explain the product in detail to you to be certain that it is what you need and then explain how to use it properly. They are a small company who support there customers and that is so much more important than anything else, especially with computers and studio gear. To top that off, they have more product knowledge than anyone else from here to Toronto and farther. The bottom line is that I don't actually know anyone more knowledgeable than Markus and his employees. He has saved me thousands of dollars and countless hours. They are the best.

This is great spot. You can find not only good instruments, sound systems and equipment but algo good advice and solutions. They have more than expected, I've found here great cables, guitar picks, straps, microphone, Peruvian percussive boxes and so much more. People is very friendly here. They take interest almost immediately on helping and answering your questions to find a good fit and solution to your need.

The new North end location has lots of space and they also are our city’s authorized Apple service / warranty spot if you ever need a hand. Worth a visit!

AMAZING service, AMAZING and friendly staff! I came in with a MacBook that wouldn't turn on, dreaded the worst. 2 days later I'm writing this review on my MacBook; they completely figured it out so fast and I didn't lose any of my work. (They thought it would be a couple of weeks, but I think I got lucky with Apple sending the parts so quickly!) So knowledgeable, a great space (and may I also add, autistic-friendly space.) 10/10 would go here again. Thank you guys!

The staff at Maars Music are always so welcoming and helpful! I've gotten my laptop fixed there twice, and have also been there a few times to try out their instruments. Excellent and honest advice when it comes to apple products and instruments. I actually really like how honest they are when it comes to asking a question before buying anything, they definitely put the customers interest first and i've never seen that anywhere else before. Today i went to pick up my MacBook which they fixed for free because they paired me up with a program that allowed me to get a free screen. I saved over $600 because i don't have apple care so i'm very i'm grateful! It was also supposed to take 7-10 buisness days but i got it back within 4 days, just in time for the school semester to start!

Came in for an iPhone repair with Andrew. He was friendly, unfortunately his diagnosis was incorrect. In his estimation my phone was pooched and needed to be replaced entirely. My phone was out of warranty so that would've been an expensive course of action. Went elsewhere for a repair (full disclosure is wasn't an authorized apple repair shop) and they fixed the issue in 30 minutes at much less of a cost. I called back describing what had happened hoping for a refund on what I had spent to have Andrew diagnose the problem and while still friendly they were unapologetic for the mistake and the time wasted. In the end my phone is fixed but I'm out two hours and $34.90 because I trusted them to fix my phone.

As upstart podcasters with no real technical expertise, my buddy and I hit up Maars music yesterday armed only with our enthusiasm and a bunch of questions. The store was really busy and Markus couldn't get to us right away. As a retailer, there are way worse things than being busy, so good on them for thriving during the pandemic. On the advice of another associate we left to let Markus finish with another customer knowing he could get to us later in the day. In the 90 or so minutes we were gone we visited the big box music store in town where we weren't even so much as greeted let alone served in any way. Returning to Maars, Markus treated us to a full lesson in building a podcasting setup explaining the basics of mixers, microphones and cabling. He even went so far as to let us try out some microphones. Although we did not purchase anything yesterday the service and attention that was shown to us was way beyond exceptional and I can't see any reason why we wouldn't go back and shop there again.

My iPhone battery recently died in my 5c, so I took it into Maar's to be replaced. The apple tech diagnosed my phone and had to order the battery. As he was taking my phone apart he noticed some internal fluid damage interfering with the home button. The needed part also had to be ordered and was delayed about a week from Apple. The tech was super nice and knowledgeable and super busy as he's the only tech in the Peterborough area. He gave me an awesome discount due to the delay. I'd recommend him for sure!

Advertised as authorized repair for Apple products, and Apple said they can do the same repairs that the Apple Store does. When i showed up at the store and was told that they would have to send product away to be repaired I was surprised. When I told the person at the store that Apple what Apple had told me, he simply told me that Apple lied! This is my edited review and is factual.

Brought my IPhone 7 which crashed on me during a IOS update and totally corrupted my phone. I lost all of my data and personal info with no recent back-up. Very devastating and frustrated with Apple as this was something that was out of the consumers control. I brought my phone into MAAR'S Music and left it with "Ty" who is a Apple Service tech and he miraculously was able to perform data recovery and restore a backup of phone which was non functional and non operational on any level when i brought it in. As a matter of a fact, Apple service support even told me that my phone was likely fried due to the big jump in IOS update and that i would have lost everything. Apple service support literally told me after the diagnostics that my phone was rendered non-operational and that there was no chance of date recovery at this point due to the severity of the crash during the software update (i think i jumped from 10.12 to 13.3.1). Long story short 'Ty" from Apple service located at MAAR'S Music was able to recover the personal data and rebuild my phone and restored a Back-up for me!!! Can't say enough about the service he provided and how friendly everyone at MAAR'S Music was. Unfortunately I can't give these guys more than 5 stars. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE AT MAARS MUSIC.

Nov. 3/21 My Mom is a senior & had a major malfunction with her iPad. I had to call Apple Care for help. They directed me to Marr’s Music, who have an Apple Care specialist on site! This service saved me a trip to Toronto, mailing it in, etc. (all of which would have been far more complicated). Furthermore, the iPad was no longer under warranty so I was even more concerned about the cost. Tai was absolutely terrific! Tai is professional & helpful; the diagnostics were done quickly & he gave me excellent advice about the device. Bottom line: Marr’s Music / Apple Care Service saved us so much time & $$. ???? I would highly-recommend them for any Apple-related product problems. Their service was truly 10/10!
