My kid had spilled smoothie (!!!) all over my MacBook Air laptop. I wasn't to start it, and I knew that the damage was bad enough that I could lose the hard drive. My iMac couldn’t detect RAM and was unable to boot due to a logic board issue. Peter and his team provided a probable cause and estimate to fix over the phone. They repaired the board for much less than the cost Apple quoted for a refurbished board and in less time. My iMac is 6 years old and Apple doesn’t stock parts for “vintage” machines so it extends repair time. If it weren’t for Peter I probably would have had to purchase a new machine as the repair quote was too close to replacement cost. Peter’s repair was faster, much cheaper, and less wasteful.

Dropped my late 2013 model MacBook Pro off to him two weeks ago due to overheating issues and the screen randomly shutting off on me. Apple wanted over 1000$ to replace logic board, was all ready to buy a new laptop when I decided reach out to a third party repair place. Found Peter’s business online, had a lot of positive reviews, so I rolled the dice. Called Peter up, gave him the serial number of my model, told him the symptoms my laptop was having and he was easily able to diagnose the issues I was having over the phone. Dropped the computer off to him that evening and 5 business days later I had it back, fully repaired, no issues. Very pleased with the service and less than half the cost for repairs that Apple was going to charge. If you have an out of warranty laptop that’s having issues, definitely give Peter a shout first. I have been looking for a new computer guy and I think I have found it with Ottawa Computer Services. Why? Most importantly, he fixed my issue. And had my computer returned very quickly. But it's not just that. 2) Very reasonable pricing. Didn't feel like I was being charged for 50 things I didn't even come in wanting. 3) Educated me as well. Spent time over the phone actually talking with me about the problem so that I understood what was actually happening to my computer. Even giving me suggestions that I could do on my own! Peter really knows his stuff and has great knowledgeable support staff. I made the mistake by first going to a large box store who “supposedly” repairs laptops. I wanted a full diagnostics report. Exactly what was wrong with it. It took close to 3 months to get my laptop back from Toronto. Although they appear to have “repair” experts on site. They mixed up my home phone number and I had to chase the problem, leaving detailed messages on an answering machine, not speaking to a person one on one. I finally got my computer laptop back. To my surprise all I read on my diagnostics report was a small comment on my report “Motherboard needs replacement”, the cost would be close to $500.00 total. I knew the problem was the motherboard before I brought it in. So, I found “Ottawa Computer Services.ca” on google. I talked to Peter over the phone, he knew that there are mainly two common fixes to the problem. I dropped it off to him. The fix was “Exactly” as he said, and the cost of repair was 35 % less. Do not get sucked into big box experts who disclose very little and just replace the whole guts of the computer when it can be fixed in a shorter period. Peter is friendly, reliable, trustworthy and a man of his word, something that is not second nature to a lot of big box business. I will use his services again in the future if needed.

Computers Canada wanted $150 for openers and the same thing with Best buy and everybody was going to take two weeks. Peter answer the phone right away and said he couldn't get the part, a new keyboard for an Acer spin laptop and suggested I call Acer direct. He even gave me the phone number to call. To my surprise, my 15 month old laptop was still under warranty, but the warranty would expire in 8 days. Peter's idea just save me a hundred and fifty bucks.
