I just got ripped off by Mamdouh, the owner of the Laptop doctor. I had a hard drive issue for which I had a backup but asked him if he could retrieve one current folder for which he told me it would cost $20-$30. When I went back, he told me that he had to plug it on a machine to retrieve it and that machine cost him a lot of money so it would COST ME $600! I said no, that wasn't what we agreed upon and he said well too bad and is throwing out my data. I can't believe how people can't have integrity and try to rip off honest people.

My MacBook Air would not start. Mamdouh, the owner of the shop, is professional, honest and really hard working. He tried everything to make the repair as cheap as possible, but in the end he had to replace the logic board/motherboard. He also replaced the battery as mine had swelled. He stayed working on it until 10pm. If I would have had my MacBook repaired anywhere else it probably would have been double the price. I also had an exterior hard drive that was broken and he was able to recover all the information. I’m really happy I came here for my laptop repair and would recommend it!

Initially I had problems with my hard-disk cable which was replaced. However, within 2 weeks I had problems with the same cable as it developed a break. The owner immediately replaced it without any charge. Additionally I added an extra RAM which was caused my screen to freeze, so he changed it with a new one without any charge. I highly recommend this place for your laptop needs.

I went here to upgrade the ram of my laptop. Selectively chosen up the DDR4 8GB RAM which cost me around 67$. While upgrading and closing the back of laptop, he finds that one screw and some of the plastic part is broken, he himself fixed it with out any extra cost. As I had only one slot my existing ram was removed. He gave me $25 off for my existing ram. Fixed my ram issue in just 1 hour. 5/5 for his hardware knowledge and quick solving techniques. Mamdouh is really good at what he does. I spilled wine on my macbookair 2019 a1932 and the parts were not easily available. The nearest apple certified service store was 200kms from my city and I couldn’t get it covered under my warranty from apple as it was liquid damage. However Mamdouh got it fixed and that too without changing any parts. At first he said the trackpad didnt respond and he has to order the parts from China as he wasnt able to find any in canada and it might take few weeks. But then miraculously he fixed it without putting in any new parts. And he went above and beyond to make sure it works just like it used to. He also made arrangements for me and stayed half an hour past his closing time so that I could drive up to his shop after work to collect my macbook. Thanks Mamdouh.

They had my laptop for 4 days after I told them it had a hardware issue, as it kept restarting after I would move it. They called me back saying they didn't know what was wrong with it, and that they ran tests for software when I said it wasn't. I ended up picking it up and paying $30 for them not to do anything, only to take it somewhere else. They didn't even open up my laptop, and still charged me.

I reluctantly give laptop dr a 5 out of 5. Reluctantly because how can it be that good right? Well it was. Here is my story. Spilt a lot of coffee on my macbook air. Thought it was a goner. I spoke to a friend and they told me that I should let it sit for a few days and then try to turn it on. It came on but the keyboard would not function. This friend told me to get the keyboard replaced and it should cost around 200. parts and labour. So when the tech quoted me 200 I thought lets give this a chance. They are really knowledgeable and meticulous. The most amazing part was he cleaned it and replaced the ribbons and fixed the mouse pad and a few other coffee soaked pieces. Laptop Doctor is quite possible one of the most reliable computer repair places in Southwest Ontario. In 2018, my old HP Pavilion g7 would not work and I had it fixed in London for $180. The same problem happened in 2020, and it was fixed for $60!! Not only that, it was done the next day! This was an incredible service I couldn't belive it!! Definitely go in and get a quote here. I've know been to Laptop Doctor twice and both times I've had a great experience. Both times the price I paid was actually lower than my quote, and I got my laptop back same day both times. The gentleman there cleaned my laptop of dust for free, in addition to addressing the issue I had. The last time, he even took my laptop apart after he was done with it when he noticed my battery wasn't locking into place properly and address that issue by removing some moisture beads that had made their way into my lap top. He also offers helpful preventative advice. Great work over all! No complaints whatsoever!

My $3,200 IMac was dead. I had gone to a few places to see if I could get it fixed. It appeared nobody wanted to take a risk doing this job. One of the places I went to told me this guy “laptop Dr” was probably the only one in this area that could fix it. The Laptop Dr ordered the parts, a used motherboard that was extremely rare from the USA.. then a few months later he called to say “ it’s all done ”. Everything was backed up. I don't tend to write reviews, and when I do I seldom give a 5/5, but this is a rare exception. I went in to see about getting my detachable 2.5mm-3.5mm headphone cord fixed, as it was badly damaged and I couldn't find a replacement cord anywhere. After a few hours of working on it, I went to pick it up and initially it didn't work. However, the owner was very willing to see the job through, so I went back in, this time with the headphones for better testing, and he devoted much more time to ensuring it worked perfectly, which meant a lot of tweaking so the cord was fully functional and the audio wasn't cutting in and out. I didn't even get charged for the additional time spent working on them. Quality assurance and customer satisfaction is clearly very important to these people, and they were willing to help after so many other PC stores couldn't do anything for me. Very professional, and fast but precise work. I'll be coming here for all future tech problems. ps: thought it was hilarious that there was a stethoscope hanging on the wall. Good sense of humour

I had a question about adapters. They easily could have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge and forcing me to buy /repair my adapter from them. Instead, they directed me to use my other adapter for the smaller screen computer I wanted to take to school with me. They didn't stop there, they explained very clearly and in an uncondescending manner why using the adapter I already have would not cause damage to my smaller computer. I must mention this consultation happened on the phone for free at their business hour! In conclusion, I applaud them for their honesty, integrity, knowledge, and professionalism. Brought in a circuit board from a hot tub. It had melted components along with part of the board itself melted due to bad wiring connections, and was only heating up to 87. Brought it here to see if there was anything he could do, 2 days later I picked it up, and now it works perfectly. Very knowledgeable, good customer service and good prices too. Not happy & horrible customer service, I bought an aftermarket power cord for my wife's HP not knowing they sold OEM cords or I would have bougth it. The new power cord stopped working after 2-1/2 months I returned it to the store to find out it only had a 1 month warranty I asked for a discount on the OEM cord as I just bought the previous one from them and it was faulty. The OEM cord was $60 and I was offered a $5 discount with 1 month warranty, I will never go there again or recommend this place. I just bought the OEM power cord from Orange PC and got it for cheaper then with a discount at Laptop Dr.

Probably one of the best computer repair persons in Windsor. I visited him on two occasions. The first time my screen cracked, and the hinges from my laptop broke. No one else was touching my laptop, and he was the only one able to fix and put together my laptop at a reasonable price, and was nice enough to give me a temporary laptop while mine got fixed. Second time, the cord for my charger snapped, and I could not find another charger, since mine requires more Watts, and it is a little heavy duty. He was once again the only one who was able to put together my broken charger, and gave me a temporary one till my own charger was being fixed. I would highly recommend this place.

I've received the *best* service from the Laptop Doctor. I've gone to them on 2 separate occasions with 2 different laptops. One laptop, they fixed a different store's repair that was poorly done. Their repair has lasted 2 years with no issues at all. My second laptop I requested an install of a second SSD and asked them to take a look at a faulty headphone jack. They provide you with an estimate for the repairs and let you know if they come across anything else when they open up your tech to inspect. They go above and beyond with their services and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my tech. Do not go to any other laptop repair shop. The Laptop Doctor is the best in the city. Called to have my CMOS battery replaced. He went above and beyond what was asked. Not only did he replace the CMOS he replaced my portable internal battery. It wasn't working for years. He also reinforced the nubs underneath and reinforced the wiring in my adapter. He also carried which I bought an original Dell adapter for backup in case I needed one. I went to Best Buy where they refused to even look at my laptop. They told me it was a write off, to put it in rice and hope for the best. I called here and the owner told me to come in straight away. He said it was most definitely fixable and had I put it in rice, it would have made it worse! He fixed it within days and for such a reasonable price!! Not only did he fix my computer but his costumer service was superb! Great service and patient with helping to solve the problem before they even take the laptop or device from you. Quick, efficient service and reasonably priced. The gentleman who owns it is a professional engineer and know computers very well. Asus purchased August 2019 from best buy and the 2 year "accidental" warranty of course expired when I tried to go to geek squad and have it looked at recently. Geek squad is the WORST. $100 to send it out for you whether they can fix it or not they will keep the $100. Also 7 to 14 days before you will possibly receive your laptop back from this outside place that you have no name of. Both of these young adults are getting paid behind the desk to do nothing. They did not even say "hey let's take a quick look at it first", instead they decided to inform me that accidental warranty only covers if the "laptop fails" me not if milk spills on my laptop then failing to work (back story toddler spilled milk on my laptop and mouse pad stopped working for over 36 hours, which is what I explained the problem was). So after telling them they were useless and walking out of there very annoyed. I quickly looked up where I could go get my computer fixed and I remember a friend of mine mentioning Laptop Doctor. I was able to bring in my device same day yesterday and not only did we fix the issue which I was very lucky the milk damage was not as bad as I had thought. They only charged me $20 for cleaning my laptop for me. $40 is what they charge to take a thorough look at it. I was there for 30 minutes and I left there feeling confident that if I ever have a computer issue I will go to them again. Thank you Laptop Doctor

I went in there twice, for 2 separate problems. The first time I went in there to see if he can fix my Macbook Pro after spilling nail polish remover on it. My laptop was ready to be picked up the next day, and for half the price of best buy. A few months later, my laptop wasn't turing on, and a grey screen with a question mark was showing up. (A similar situation happened to my friend, she took her laptop to best buy where they charged her 600$ and lost all of her data and files). Turns out one of the wires of my computer was broken. He replaced it for a quarter of the price, and I was able to pick it up the same day.

I spilled water on my MacBook Pro and completely damaged the screen, touch bar, speaker, and charging port. Additionally, it was randomly shutting off. There are no Apple stores in Windsor, and I would have had to cross the border to get Apple just to take a look at it, let alone fix it, which could take weeks. I didn't have time to spare since I have midterms coming up. My friend recommended The Laptop Doctor since she had such a positive experience after taking her Mac there and had it fixed within a few hours. I called The Laptop Doctor and he reassured me that it's something that he has worked on before, and also advised me to bring it in ASAP since time was of the essence to avoid further corrosion. I brought it in, and although he was very busy, he prioritized the laptop being worked on to halt the corrosion. He put the laptop in a dryer, and I came back two hours later to pick it up. Right away, I noticed that the touch bar and speakers were working again and the laptop was no longer randomly shutting off. He explained to me that there might be further steps that may need to be taken, but to go home and to give him a call if any issues arise. The next morning, my touch bar was glitching and causing the laptop to act up. I gave The Laptop Doctor a call, and he advised me to bring it in. He spent time inspecting the inside of the laptop, and located the touch bar wire internally, which showed signs of corrosion. Although I had suggested to just snip the wire off and turn off the touch bar, he was adamant about finding a solution. Using his precise tools, he was able to clean the corrosion and get the touch bar to work perfectly. All in all, I was able to have my laptop restored to perfect working condition within 24 hours of the incident, and for a comparatively small cost. Had I gone to Best Buy or Apple, I believe I would have spent anywhere between $800-1000 to fix the issue. Thank you so much for your dedication, expertise and for genuinely caring about me as a client!

Even though there was some extra work involved the price was kept at what we initially agreed upon. My recommendation... If you have a problem with your computer, that is a good place to take it to for reopairs.

Great experience! Was told by Best Buy and Apple that my Macbook's motherboard was fried and was basically forced to either get it replaced for $1000 (entire Apple Care warranty was apparently void bc of a small crack in the screen glass), or buy a brand new computer for $2000. Most trustworthy person you can take your laptop to get fixed. I had my screen backlight go off on just over a year old dell. I was looking at a screen replacement from other places, but not laptop doctor. He took on the challenge to fix the backlight issue without replacing the screen and found the problem with the capacitor overheating and causing the issues.
