Core 1 is probably the worst apple certified store in the GTA. They are literally useless and offer no solutions to any problems you bring to them. I have been in for a variety of issues and they have never been any help, telling me to go to a real apple store or completely replace something that just needed minor repairs. If you live in Oakville and your apple device is broken honestly make the drive to creative technology in Burlington because unlike the staff at core 1 they are actually helpful.

I normally never write reviews, but I have been to this store several times in the past few years, and I am so grateful for how amazing the service is at Core1.I came in last week because my MacAir was down to only 20 GB of storage, and I wasn't sure why I had so little, I unfortunately cannot remember the name of the gentleman who helped me, but he showed me how to clear space, recommended an external hard drive, and with that I now over 60GB free. I cannot give enough praise to this store, the customer service and support is always amazing and helpful.

Don't go here for repairs. This store isn't a viable alternative to an actual Apple Store. I visited and they advised they would charge approximately $100 for a repair because although my device was under warranty, they said hardware damage would cost me money. Took my device to Apple Square One instead, presented them with the same problem and they fixed it for no cost. I don't have any personal experience purchasing from this store, but while I was in and inquiring about repairs, a senior gentleman was in the midst of purchasing an iMac. He just needed a normal PC for light daily use, but the sales rep somehow convinced him to get a higher-end iMac in case he'd be using it for advanced media-editing software the gentleman had never heard of.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I had texted them and let them know my camera was not working and that it is under warranty. They had let me know to get my screen fixed first. I had let them know the screen has nothing to do with the back camera. They said it did not matter and the screen would have to be replaced. I understood and took my phone in. Once I walked in the older gentlemen was extremely rude by saying I have been texting them all day and that I should know the screen needs to be fixed. He was rolling his eyes and being extremely disrespectful even though I was being super nice. After dropping off the phone they said the phone needs to be sent to Apple and gave me 0 reason as to why. They had told me the turn around time was 2 days max but got the phone a week later. I got the phone with no sim card and they never told me to take it out. It was such an inconvenience to go and get a new sim card when they never advised me to do so. I would recommend going to an apple store as apple is known for their amazing customer service and this store gives them a bad name. No customer should feel disrespected like I was.

Great third party Apple authorized retailer. Staff is knowledgeable about Apple products and know their stuff. They also do phone screen protector installations - you have to purchase the screen protector and they’ll professionally install it so you save the hassle of figuring out how to get out those annoying air bubbles.

Had my battery replaced on my Iphone 6 recently under apples old phone battery deal at Core 1, and was pleased with the initial service. Afterwards though, my phone slowly began to click at the bottom right and it was very annoying as I knew it was the screen coming out. A few google searches later I learned it was from having the phone opened and needed to be "reseated". I emailed them asking if they could fix it, and they told me to come in. I went in, they recognized my problem, fixed it, and returned it to me all under 10 minutes at no charge, and now the phone feels solid! I see mixed reviews on customer service, but I had no issue with anyone, or the service. (The speedy, cost free fix cancels out the clicking issue as it seems to be common anyway.) Thanks!

We purchased two MacBook Air laptops and a printer from Core 1 after almost ten years service from an ancient iMac and an older MacBook. Matt Fisher set up the system at our house as part of Core's Concierge service and set up communication among all our Apple Devices, including an iPad and two iPhones. Matt's expertise and his willingness to explain all the aspects of the newer operating system was greatly appreciated. Even when the transfer of older data from the iMac to one of the newer laptops was incomplete, it just meant a quick trip to Core to have all the issues rectified. Matt's expertise with these products was impressive and his willingness to continue to help if issues raised themselves in the future is well appreciated. And Core is practically within walking distance. What more could one ask? He even took all our old devices away as part of Apple's recycling programme, including some original Apple laptops from the early 90s and two iPhones. Great service and highly recommended.

To all the moaners and complainers who write stupid and unfair reviews why not read how you are treated in an Apple store. These guys at Core 1 are hard working independent business people who care. You want arrogant and disrespectful service try the Genius Bar at any Apple store. I have been using Mac’s for 15 years and Apple no longer support their products like they used to. Cut these guys some slack, they are doing a GREAT JOB. The LCD screen on my 5 month 13" old Mac Book Air STOPPED WORKING. I got jerked around by the Burlington Apple store and was looking at driving to either Square One or Sherway Gardens to deal with an Apple corporate store. I took the computer to Core 1 Monday morning and the following day they called and said that the screen was replaced under warranty. The difference between CORE 1 and the Genius Bar Circus found at most Apple stores is that is an owner operated business located in downtown Oakville with excellent staff who really care. These people care about their customers and their reputation. This is my second experience with CORE1 and they impressed me both times. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I recently purchased a refurbished macbook pro here and it is wonderful. The screen was a little loose, however when I brought it in, they fully replaced the screen at no cost as it was covered by their warranty. The customer service at Core1 is great and the staff are happy to help!

I once took a 6 month old mac book to these guys that had a cracked screen and asked them to simply put a new one in it. First they told me that the screen would be a whopping $1100 to replace and then they told me that a repair was pointless anyways because my mother board was "fried" and that I would have to buy a whole new $3000 laptop that they would be happy to sell me right away. Go figure. Knowing full well that there was nothing wrong with my mother board I said "thanks but no thanks" so when I went in to get my laptop back they nailed me with a $107 ($95 + tax) "diagnostic fee" just to get my computer back. They basically charged me $107 just to make up a fake mother board story to try and sell me a brand new computer and tell me something that I had told them was wrong with my computer in the first place when I walked in and said "my screen is broken". I immediately took my computer to another local repair shop and they told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my mother board, for FREE I might add, and then they installed a brand new screen for $200 TAX IN. Now I know some might say "well it wasn't an authorized mac repair centre yadda yadda yadda" To them I say this: This was well over a year ago and the screen and motherboard have been working just fine ever since and I did not have to buy another $3000 computer as a result of some DISHONEST and INACCURATE diagnostic on the part of Core 1. So much for "authorized repair centre" meaning anything, it doesn't. Take your hard earned money and go elsewhere trust me. Also it pays to call around to other shops and get prices on computer work before taking your machine anywhere. For example Core 1 charges $107 just to simply download your data from one hard drive to another whereas other independent places in town charge only $25. I could go on about their steep prices and how I was quoted $550 by Core 1 (I didn't know they had moved and changed their name at the time or I would have never gone there for a quote) on a repair that another place in town did for $250 with the same parts but I will spare Core 1 any further shame and embarrassment.

My iPhone was acting really weird and the touch screen wasn't working. They were able to help me diagnose my issues and gave me all my options of how to move forward. They provided me a loaner phone while the work was being done on my phone. My favorite part was I never needed an appointment and I never had to wait long. Don't think I will be going back to the apple store any time soon with this place down the street.

I came to them with a 2016 macbook pro where the butterfly keyboard had essentially self-destructed and they were able to orchestrate a repair for me that exceeded my expectations of service excellence. The fact that this machine was a daily driver for me in my job was not lost on the staff, and leveraging their "jump the queue" service, I was able to get my macbook pro back, and essentially like a new machine within 24 hours. The communication and dedication to customer satisfaction was refreshing and, being in the service industry myself, was something that resonated with me as a customer and as a delivery professional. I called to know if it was an authorized apple center, because the screen while working at a certain point was cracked internally, he replied to yes and slamming the computer to see, arrogant and incompetent staff, after various Discussions and affirmation the computer it's not cover to apple care he give a quote for $99 tsg labor and $661.33 screen replacement, After this bad experience with this store I called apple care and the support center immediately reported that Core 1 is not an Apple center and I have to go to the Apple Store at Mapleview, they immediately retired the laptop under warranty for replacing the screen, After I request information about what the screen would cost if it was not in warranty, it was $ 516 . For all issue i suggest go to apple Store Core 1 It's very Bad store

Stay away from Core1 Oakville for any computer repairs!!! I brought in my iMac (late2012) because it was making a loud rattling noise. I suspected it was the fan and asked them to check it out. A few days later (!) I got a call saying my 1TB OEM hard drive was making the noise and was failing, and they suggested I install a 1TB SSD drive for $499 plus parts & labour = total $800. I brought the machine home, only to boot it up and hear the exact same loud rattling noise again. I brought the computer back to them, and they found the fan was rattling this time, as I had originally suggested. It was in fact the only other "moving part"! They didn't charge me for the $50 fan replacement, which fixed the problem by the way, but offered no compensation for having wrongly diagnosed that my hard drive was failing in the first place. Only after a tough conversation with the technician and a store manager, did they offer a $60 credit (!) for my troubles and frustrations. I was only annoyed even more when I got home and found the installed Kingston Digital A400 SSD 960GB SATA 3 2.5” Solid State Drive SA400S37/960G - SSD 1TB drive to be worth only about $140 on Amazon.ca and other canadian websites. Core1 lied to me about the required repairs, and was not even honest enough to own up to their mistakes and offer me a better compensation on an overly expensive "unnecessary" repair. They may appear friendly, but their technicians seem not adequate, and their customer service certainly lacks in care for their customers.

When my MacBook pro shut down out of no where I called apple support to see what could I do about it, we came to the conclusion thst I had to bring it in to a store. They guy on the phone told me that besides genus bars they also have apple specialist in certain stores around the city. I came across Core 1 because I wanted the next available appointment. I made my appointment and before driving I decided to call and find out if i was going to the right place and if I was going to be changed for just taking a look at that was wrong with my laptop. The guy on the phone from Core 1 said that they don't charge for test and diagnose, but after doing so if the computer needs part replacement we will talk about prices then. My partner and I drove for 45 minutes to get to this store and the guy at the desk wanted to charge me $100 for the test plus part upfront. I mentioned that I had called about an hour ago and spoke with a gentlemen about my situation and the guy said that he couldn't help me. So my partner and I left the store unsatisfied and disappointed. Later that week we took my computer to Sherway Gardens Apple store and they told me what was wrong with my laptop and I didn't pay a penny.

The absolute best experience I have had at an apple affiliate, or apple store yet. I brought my MacBook 13' Pro laptop in for repair due to a cracked screen as well as underlying keyboard damage and battery replacement. It was quite a lot of work and the wonderful staff at Core1 had my laptop back to me within the 7-10 business days that they had promised. They kept in touch with me throughout the whole process, notifying me what was being done and then they sent me an invoice at the very end before I went in to pick it up. The laptop was better than new when I received it back, with everything 100% fixed. Matt and Jack were great to work with and seriously made such a stressful and overwhelming problem extremely manageable. I will be back to purchase all computer products, and or receive any computer/phone help from Core1 again. 10/10 recommend.

Great experience with Matt from Core 1. Communication was a key factor in dealing with Matt as well. Once my iPhone was in their hands, the turnaround was just as fast as the communication. if you want to get a real service, I suggest to not waste your time and go to real apple store in Sherway garden and get your device fix right away. It’s been a challenging time for all of us during this Covid-19, social distancing time as a lot of stores are not open. As a parent, the online learning process has been a new journey. When my daughter's Mac laptop started having issues, I was hesitant on what my options were. I had used Core1 in the past and decided to inquire. They were read to help! As in the past, the service was easy and incredible. Core1 offers an online drop-off/pick-up appointment scheduling service that was very easy to navigate. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Communication between myself and staff was efficient and given I’m not tech savvy, it was easy to understand, as they were able to answer all of my questions and let me know what the issue was before proceeding to repair the laptop. Worried about time, given the circumstances we are facing, my daughter's laptop was fixed within a reasonable amount period. Further to that, I checked the courier service for return, as I live in Mississauga and the store is in Oakville, and they returned my laptop to me (front door drop-off), for free, the day it was ready for pick up. I really love this store and would highly recommend it for all your tech needs!

I went over to Core1 when my MacBook Pro's display went black all of a sudden. The customer service specialist, Adam was very friendly and understood the problem right away. After some diagnostics, he decided to check my laptop in for further investigation. Core1 tech specialists realized this was the leading display issue for this series of MBPs and they were able to order a new display from Apple and get it fixed in just 3 days. They even got the service fee covered from Apple which otherwise would be $100. I am very pleased by the service and genuinity upfront. I walked out of the store with a new display and paying zero cents!

What a lifesaver this team has been! A little bit of a pain to get to at the moment because of construction but worth it. Store is clean and COVID precautions are simple and easy to work with. A small but interesting selection of Apple accessories (i.e. I found a keyboard protector I really needed!). I made an appointment for a repair (under warranty) for my Macbook Air. I arrived on time, paid for parking on Lakeshore and went inside. The employee took the laptop inside and said his technician does not think this is a problem and I should take it to an actual Apple store and they should fix it? What's the difference between an Apple store and here? I already made an appointment 2 days before, drove here, PAID for parking for nothing. Do not waste your time here. Do yourself the favour and go into an actual Apple store.

Apple Store Genius Bar customer service and general quality/knowledge of support staff and technician has been going downhill in recent years. After a few terrible experiences at Square One Apple Store, I booked an appointment here to fix my broken iPhone camera and to get a quote to fix my out of warrenty macbook pro keyboard. Core 1 replaced my iPhone and managed to find an Apple program that replaces my keyboard free of charge. Went beyond my expectations. Great experience throughout. I will be coming here for all my future Apple product problems. I would recommend you avoid Apple Store like a plague if you are able to come here for your Apple support.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Core 1 today. Unfortunately, the second time I was disappointed in a span of less than a month. I wanted to get my Iphone 6 battery replaced under Apple's Out of Warranty Iphone battery replacement programme, after my phone significantly slowed down. I made an appointment for mid Jan. I am based out of Mississauga and the drive to Oakville takes me about 30 mins. I reach the store on time only to receive a call (right when I am outside the store, no kidding there!) that they did not have the battery yet! So essentially, I drove all the way to Oakville only to be told we are pretty bad at inventory management! I did not create a fuss. To their credit, they called me some time back saying they had ordered my battery - yippie! So I went into the store this morning again, and while they accepted that my phone has passed the necessary diagnostics, and the battery can and should be replaced, they would not do it, because my screen does not work properly. They instead offered to do an off-site screen replacement for $160, and then replace my battery. I am not sure how that works, or at least no one tried explain to me the correlation between the two. The screen did not stop working properly this morning, and the phone was tested both the times I went. So why the issue now? Bad customer service I guess!

The guys at iCore are top notch. They have worked on 2 of my computers now and they never fail to impress me with their service. Most recently I had a issue with my hard drive, the computer would not boot. I was told by another tech that I needed a new hard drive. I went into the store today to get a diagnosis on an old MacBook Plus that won't boot. The male attendant barked at me in a loud voice that sounded like he was on a parade ground - name, address, postal code etc - nothing polite about anything and arrogant.... I almost walked out, but left the machine with them. Train your staff to interact with clients and not to interrogate them!

My iMac was running very slow after installing Catalina. I called the team at Core1 and they told me they could upgrade my system and have it running like brand new. They made arrangements to pick up my computer and delivered it back to me within a week. The computer runs super fast. Thank you Core1 for your impeccable service. Not all that impressed. Didn't feel like they really listened to me. Claimed the hard drive was failing which was the cause of the issue. Replacement hard drive wasn't installed properly which resulted in another week of testing. After 2 weeks & a new hard drive the original issue was still there. Another week wasted in "tests" when I get a call saying that my computer is fixed. I arrive at the store & I'm told that they couldn't find the issue. How is that fixed? To me they gave up. $400 for a new hard drive & diagnostics. What a waste. Went to Apple & they found the issue in 10 min. And it was known issue therefore didn't cost me a cent. Save the aggravation. Go to Apple.

I took my MacBook in for service because it was running very sluggish since installing recent OS upgrades, and, I wanted to increase my RAM. Their counter staff told me that the sluggishness may be due to hardware problems relating to the hard drive, so I was expecting the predictable bad news when they called me to report their findings. To my delight, they said that the sluggishness was due to a simple OS software issue which was corrected by their techs! I also got my laptop back a day earlier than expected. I felt I was treated very fairly and was happy that I wasn't given a run-around with imaginary hardware issues.

On Sunday, July 15th I made a scheduled appointment for 11:40am to have my dead laptop looked at. When I brought it in they did not even bother to look at it despite me having a service appointment. They then told me it would take 3-5 business days to figure things out. I went to a Best Buy right afterwards and within 10 minutes they diagnosed my issue for free. I should also mentioned I rushed to Oakville from out of town to make it there on time. My advice is to skip out on this place and head to an actual Apple store or a place like Best Buy.

I had bought a new I-Phone from the Bell store. I needed some guidance/assistance in transferring my information from my old phone to my new phone. The Bell store employee said he could not do it due to Covid-19 restrictions. He told me to go to the Core 1 store on Lakeshore Rd and that they would be able to transfer the data. At Core-1 I was met by Matt. At the very least Matt was unhelpful and at the very worst he was arrogant and condensing. When I explained what the Bell employee had told me, he said "well that is what you get for listening to another person in another store".

I paid nearly $800 to have the battery replaced in my MBP 15 retina. Less the a month later, 3/4 of the screws had came loose and the base panel was about to fall off. Core 1 claimed zero responsibility and said I would have to pay to have them replaced. You would expect them to put some thread lock on these screws after an $800 service. Go to an Apple Store.

Horrible experience twice at this store. Will never bother with these folks again. They will make excuses to not do the work. My iphone 6 needed a battery replacement and the first time round they did a diagnostic and concluded that the battery needed replacement so let's order in the part. After two weeks, the part arrived in the store. I come in and they do another diagnostic on the phone and claim the screen responds only "intermittently" so they couldn't replace the battery without doing a $160 screen replacement which would be off-site! You ordered the part, now just replace it. I will be going to Apple directly now instead of dealing with these 3rd party authorized dealer stores.

I was so shocked at the service here. I brought my Mac to them as directed by Apple. it was there for about 3 months as I could not afford the service as my computer failed out of nowhere. I was reassured they could copy the data from my old failed hard drive to a new one. Upon picking my computer up after they called me to tell me it was ready, it was not after driving all the way to Oakville. $300 later When I went back, there was nothing on my computer. I ended up getting a refund, putting the old drive in my computer and brining it to Sheridan. They recovered all my data, advised me to buy a hard rive that was $89 and replaced it FOR FREE. They also downloaded all Microsoft and adobe softwares for free. I was not satisfied with the service here at all.

Please do not take this store seriously at all. I tried taking my MacBook for a quick inspection because my screen wasn’t working. A staff member told me in an attitude that to inspect the MacBook there’s a charge and it would cost around $800 to fix it. He also started pushing the idea of buying a new MacBook right away. 30 minutes later I went to an Apple store and they cleaned the MacBook and it worked. This store is nothing but a scam and does not deserve to represent Apple at all. Go to an official Apple store instead. The Nearest two are located at maple view mall and square one branches.

It is better and safe for you to drive to actual Apple store. It will save you money and time. Be aware that some of the stuff that they sell at the store DO NOT go on the shelves of actual Apple store. I went there to get iphone screen protector and he recommended $40 + Tax screen protector that supposedly the "best" . After putting the screen protector on, I noticed that it was not working smoothly and I had to repeatedly touch the screen to open the icon. I took it to actual Apple store, (thinking what they are carrying are exactly same as Core 1 since it does say "Apple Speciality Store") and noticed that the screen protector I bought was different than what it was at Apple store. After seeing my phone, the Apple specialist told me that I should go back to Core 1 and complain . I went back and the person who sold / and put on the screen protector told me that the phone was doing exactly what it was supposed to do, and even I wanted to return it, I needed the box- which he threw out after putting the screen protector. He said he always tell his customers to keep their boxes in case they want to return. Seriously?? I am ripping this $46 screen protector from Core 1 and buying proper screen protector that is actually approved by Apple. Stay away from this store if you want to buy something.

My first time dealing with Core 1, I came upon their name searching through the apple website trying to see if there was another support location other than the Sq1 Apple Store, I was happy to find a place closer and less busy since I have an Imac to carry around. Communicating with Nathan by e-mail he was really quick with replies and was able to even give me an idea of what the problem was and what the solution would be with price a quote. Very quick turn-around time, they kept in touch with me via text and made sure to get my consent before proceeding with the repairs. There was no extra "findings" and what I was told was all that was completed. Great first experience and would def go back again if I need to or even recommend to family/friends.

took my 5 months under warranty macbook to this guys to simply replace the battery so they take it for the day and called me next day it was water damaged and need battery and keyboard and it cost almost $600 to fix, I take it back and went to apple store they checked and said there's no sign of water damage or anything and it only needs battery and the battery is not attached to the keyboard like CORE 1 said they was just trying to score extra money. very unprofessional and overpriced and not honest. definitely will stay away of them

Secondly, they help out over the phone, if they can. Thirdly, they don't "nickel and dime" you with charges. Lastly, they have solved every problem that I have presented to them. Thank you guys!!! absolutely horrendous service. took my iphone in for a battery replacement. it worked perfectly other than the battery was old and drained quickly. when i went to pick it up i was told the phone had water damage so they couldn't replace the battery. fine, except that when they gave it back there was no display at all and the phone is useless. they didn't bother to tell me this had happened when they gave it back so i had to drive back down and wait half an hour for a 'technician' to explain that they broke it. they wanted to either charge me to fix damage they caused or sell me a new phone. they refused to provide me with a loaner until my 13 arrives because i didn't buy my new one from them. i went for a routine service and they left me stranded. basically their attitude was 'too bad for me'. the only thing they appear to specialize in is creating havoc and charging to fix their destruction. stay away from this place

I had an out-of-warranty service done at this store two years ago and when I recently brought my computer into both the Apple Store and Future Shop, they both agreed that my computer had been fixed with horrible craftsmanship. The actual part they used to fix my computer was not apple licenced and screws were missing within the computer and put back together without any consideration. When I went in to talk to the owner, he told me that he would not do anything for me, was extremely immature about the issue and told me he would give me a copy of the order from apple, then later "changed his mind" and blatently refused. Overall, completely dissatisfied. Please do not use this store, the Apple store and Future Shop were both excellent with this issue and know about computers. A complaint has been filed against this store through Apple, so they recognize the lack of service here please. Do yourself a favour, avoid this place. Both the manager and owner are horrible with customer service. I will be filing a complaint with the ministry of consumers.

TERRIBLE. If I could give no stars I would. Do yourself a favour and GO ELSEWHERE. My student daughter took her MacBook Pro in for a problem at a cost of $98 for diagnostic and $450. Battery replacement. Accepted. Within 30 days failure. Now they said Logic board needed - $850. Unacceptable. I went in and asked why. She paid for a diagnostic and got ripped off for a useless battery replacement if it actually needed a logic board. The tech gave me a meaningless fluff response. No offer to do anything or acknowledge they ran a substandard diagnostic. Basically - tough luck buddy. Little choice but to give them another $250. to buy a external hard drive and transfer data. FYI. Staples said approximately $60 for diagnostic and $250. for replacement Battery. Bought another MacBook from Staples. Staff there grimaced when I mentioned Core One. So, spent $800. and have a dead MacBook Pro. Thanks Core One, you suck. Anyone considering Core One Oakville...you’ve been warned.

Arrogant fellow. Seemed to aspire to insult me by suggesting I didn't have an IPad Air 2, which I do. Merely trying to buy an adapter to transfer photo files from digital camera to iPad. Rather than be helpful, decided he'd work hard at being a smart-ass. Well done. Bought what I needed at Apple in 2 seconds. Will never go into this store again.

What a pleasant surprise I had when visiting this Tech store for the first time. I had to get an Otterbox last minute as part of my 77 yr old mother's Christmas gift. They were able to order and have it delivered to their store within a day! What a relief to not have to run around or attempt facing the crowds & lineups at the Apple Store - Mapleview. The staff at CORE 1 were great, contacting me as soon as the order came in. The associate recommended the warranty product I needed as well as registered and activated the Apple Care Coverage while in-store to save me time. I highly recommend visiting Core 1 for your Apple Product needs - I found their product knowledge and customer service to be excellent.

I highly recommend Core 1. Exceptional customer service and rectified their error the very next day. I was unhappy with my first experience and immediately after the company becoming aware of how I felt, I was contacted by Nathan whom reassured me that if I brought my MacBook back in, they would fix any issues I originally had. They went beyond my expectations and I will definitely continue bringing my Apple products to Core 1 in the future. Thank you again for making me one extremely happy customer!
