I've been shopping at MysteryByte for more then 10 years and have always received great service.
They have (at the time of writing this) a few GPUs. Also great service. Plus they have a friendly cat.
Very helpful guys, great prices!
New to the Building your own Computer thing. The Staff have been very helpful and have made sure I didn't get in over my head.
10/10 will not be buying from this company ever again, and will be recommending to anyone i know to do the same. buy new parts have it built by them, it does not work properly and they immediately place blame on the customer. "oh well its you, or youre using cheap cables" give me a break. I paid $4k for the system i am not using some $2 cable for my monitor to my 2070.
Great little shop that almost always has what you need in a PC emergency. Staff is really knowledgeable and cheerfully answers any questions I've had.
Great place for computer parts and service. They're good people that will try to help you out.
I needed a solid laptop for work and and games - Robert was knowledgeable and incredibly helpful in finding me a laptop that met my needs at the price point I wanted. Great place and next time I need a computer I'll head back to MysteryByte!
Been dealing with this place for 16 years and they know their stuff. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and times I had issues they were always able to help me sort it out. Bought many systems here over the years as it is my hobby and job at the same time. Just bought a brand new system here and super happy with it. I was having an issue but they were able to help me solve it. Turned out to be buggy motherboard software that wasn't needed anyway. Highly recommend this place. It's my go to.
Severely overpriced. I’m all for supporting local, but selling me a $30 CPU cooler for $75 and calling it a “sale price” and “good deal” is unacceptable. I won’t return the product as it’s already on my CPU, , but I also won’t be doing business here again. Absolute rip off, and the owner should feel bad about ripping customers off for “25-30 years” as he so proudly announces every thirty seconds.
I purchased my custom built PC from these folks and they were great to work with. we must have been back and forth a half a dozen times tweaking exactly what I wanted and what I needed for my photography business until we got it just right and that was 6 months ago and this PC is still flying right along. Thanks Guys Really Appreciate the service!
Staff knowledgeable and helpful.
Terrible service. .very slow .. Lied about when it was going to be done .. Told them it was a hardware issue and to test my graphics card, CPU and ram with different parts as I didn't have extra parts to try out. They didn't do that and messed with my software and registry files had to spend hours fixing them.. Will never go back. On a plus note, Owner was very nice. He did call me apologizing for the worker that was working on my computer. Long story short I guess he isn't working there anymore.. The owner offered to give me my money back or a deal on next purchase. He was very helpful
A friend recommended them to me, so I gave them a shot. They're really great! Friendly service, good prices, and they're willing to work with you to help you figure out what it is that they can do for you. They also have a super friendly cat in the store, how cool is that?
Great service. My computer works better then it ever has. Thank you.
In fall of 2020 my family was looking to purchase two new computers. After looking at some of the big name companies, I came upon MysteryByte's website. Encouraged by the ability to build custom machines tailored to our needs, I read some reviews. Let me say the positive reviews they have are well deserved. After shopping with them, I am now adding my own. First let me say that I really appreciated the personal touches and being treated like a a valued customer and not just a walking dollar sign. Robert (the owner) dealt with us personally, and was very knowledgeable. He was able to listen to what we wanted from each machine and make suggestions on what components could suit our needs without ever talking down to us nor telling us what we should buy. We have now received both computers, in a timely manner, and we are very happy with both machines. I felt comfortable during the entire process, and Robert made sure to keep contact with us and let us know how things were progressing. I will certainly return to MysteryByte for any future computing needs and I definitely recommend them whether you are an experienced user or a first time buyer of a custom build.
I recently went to MysteryByte because I needed an extension cord for my PSU. Fairly simple, I called ahead of time, they put it aside for me and I told them I would pick it up in a jiffy. The problem was, once I arrived on site, I got a look at the cable and noticed that it was potentially a little shorter than what I was looking for and asked if it would be okay if I brought my PC in so I could eyeball the length in front of my tower, which I just happened to have on me in my vehicle. The gentleman told me no problem. The problem was that when I came back to the store, I was greeted by two other men who started telling me sardonically "don't you have some place else to do this? Just buy the cable and take it back." I responded essentially just saying that I had asked the other employee if this was okay and that it was just easier rather than buying a cable, going to the car and checking, and potentially returning it. The man with no mask and the stained t-shirt ultimately just kept repeating himself asking me if I had some other place to do this at and that I shouldn't be doing it there, et cetera while the others stood around. I found them to be incredible unprofessional and overly aggressive. I told him I would just go to another store and walked out. You would think for a store so filthy and sparse, their customer service would be exceptional but I will not be returning to this store and will only speak of this incident where I felt incredibly put off. I found they acted unnecessarily aggressively and unprofessional.
I bought my first computer here back in 2001. They helped me with some setup issues and replaced a faulty power supply for free. Good service and staff.
Dealing w Rob and team for over 10 years ... All good !!
Excellent service. Always stand behind their product sales and frequently go the extra mile if a product is out of stock or you've had an issue with a purchased part. My go to place for local computer purchases.
A recent thunderstorm fried the network card in my PC. I had previously purchased a custom designed computer from Mystery Byte, so I called them first. They were able to provide a card, and installed it for me, free of charge. They were very helpful in explaining how to install such a card, and even gave my very dusty machine a much needed cleaning. I'd recommend them to any PC users, and I note they sell and service other computing systems.
I've purchased components from MysteryByte for many years. Good prices, and they are always helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend for those reasons.
Quality service, good prices, and the world's cuddliest cat on site. Would recommend to anyone in need of a new computer.
Great staff, super respectful and helpful. Came in unsure of what issues my computer may have, they tested and inspected it and had it ready for me the next day. They even threw in a new power cord for free. Couldn't reccomend these guys more. Will come to them if ever I have another issue.
I bought a custom gaming PC from MysteryByte in Jan 2013 that has been working great until the video card died suddenly last week. I called MysteryByte to get their advice, and they told me the card was still under the manufacturer's warranty. The owner invited me to bring the whole PC in and they would look at it for no charge. I was extra lucky that they just happened to have an identical card in stock. They installed their working card in my PC, kept the dead one to ship away for warranty replacement, and sent me on my way without charging me anything. What more could I ask?
The owner Rob is extremely rude, and the store appears to be very understaffed. I was not satisfied with my service and do not recommend this store.
I am very dissapointed.. Bought all my parts for my first build here few years back and found it over priced but everything worked good, thus the one star.. Recently called them asking them if I came in with a couple new parts I already owned (recieved as gift) how much for them to upgrade for me.. He then told me it would be $200 minimum to install some more ram and a gpu because im not buying the parts from them... Seriously? After I spent almost $1500 3 years ago lol. Then i asked how much for the new gpu I had (just curious) and they didnt have it in stalk or available to order.. So I'm getting over charged for not buying a part you cant get me.... I will never be coming back.
Great shop. Found the desktop computer configuration I wanted on their website, came into the store on a Thursday afternoon to order and pay. They said it would be ready for pickup early next week. Called me Tuesday and it was good to go. No issues after two almost two years.
Good service, great prices for a local shop and super friendly staff. I've been shopping at MysteryByte since the late 90's when they had the little shack by the rotary. They have outlasted just about every other local PC shop in the area.
Great place to buy a computer. Service is instore. Been dealing with them for over 15 years. Wouldn't go anywhere else
Needed a CPU cooler to replace a stock one. Not only did they have exactly what I was looking for, but it was a great experience and will absolutely be back.
I highly recommend Mystery Byte based on at least 10 years of experience. They have custom built several computers over the years and all have worked flawlessly, and service and upgrading services have been excellent.
Awesome place - they built me a computer and their service has been super. Loads of free tips too!
I have been a returning customer and recently bought a refurbished laptop. The staff in my experience has been honest and upfront with my questions, and provided great customer service. Also can't forget to mention they have the cutest, sweetest cat ever.
The other reviews don't lie! Ordered my PC and picked it up in the discussed time frame, even with the Holidays. Easy to use site as well as very friendly and professional in person service. My PC was perfectly built all the way down to the cable management. I am very happy and so glad I chose to go through them. You won't be let down!
I have bought a lot of different computer items there over the years, great staff who know what they are talking about, and great prices.
Recently purchased a refurbished Dell Laptop from Mysterybyte. Very pleased with it and the transfer of files from my old laptop. Rob and his staff treated me well...
Reached out to these guys looking for a graphics card and they helped me to find one to finish my build at a fair price. By far the best computer store in all of Nova scotia. Give these guys a try #supportlocal
Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Everything you need and more!
