Visited Apple Store for first time today and what a great experience! Wonderful customer service and Alistair, our "Genius Expert" was so helpful. In the end we had to buy a new iPad but the helpful staff ensured all the data transferred correctly. Alistair came over to us while we waited for the data to upload and showed us how to use many of the Apple features we were not aware of. He is a great asset to the store!

Everything is very expensive, regardless of it being an Apple product or not. Service is usually lacking, probably due to understaffing. Whenever I go in I am completely ignored, whether all the associates are busy or not. I haven't had an experience with the genius bar itself, so I can't judge their technical support. Customer care could definitely use an improvement, and if you aren't buying an apple product you should just go somewhere else.

I booked an appointment to get my battery replaced a week in advance (they knew exactly which battery I needed). The day of the appointment I drove about 1.5hr to Halifax and waited for my appointment. After they prepped my phone for the replacement, they inform me that they had just used the last battery for my phone right before I got there. No call, no email, no notice. They told me they would order another and I could come in at another time to get it done. I don’t understand why they didn’t put the part on hold when they confirmed my appointment instead of wasting everyone’s time? I ended up finding a place closer to home who fixed it in half the time and for a cheaper price.

You really need to book your Genius Bar appointment in advance otherwise you'll be in for a long wait if it's busy. Have seen people get upset when I've walked up and been served right away but that's the benefit of booking ahead is not having to wait. Had my screen replaced on an iPhone here and then later had the whole phone replaced under warranty when other issues occurred after the repair. Great service.

Spacious, clean, and well lit store with plenty to look at and tons of stuff to test out. The 3 or 4 times I have gone here, I've felt invisible. Not once have I been approached or gestured to. I'm not sure if this is policy or not, hence why I'm not going crazy with deducting stars. Nor is it THAT big of a deal. HOWEVER, there is a difference between invisible and letting a customer breath. Not sure these folks differentiate those.

I haven't been in yet but I had to drive 11/2 hours to get to one. No one bothers to tell you that your insurance or any problems you have with your apple products can only be handled here in an Apple Store. So think twice about an iPhone or iPad etc before purchasing and see how far away you are from a store that can honour your warranty and insurance.

Went in to get a new battery for my mother’s iPhone 6. It was shutting off at 100% or 5 minutes of use. I was told by a ‘genius’ that closing apps was 50% of her problem and that it destroyed her battery. Also, closing apps was causing her phone to turn off. Then, we had to choose between waiting 2 hours to see if they had a battery or not, or have a phone call. We chose the phone call and it was going to be 3-5 days to get the battery in, and 2-5 weeks to get an appointment. Ridiculous. I’ll be fixing it myself rather than dealing with them again.

Had an appointment at this store to get a defective battery replaced in an iPad. I got stuck in one of Halifax’s epic traffic jams and called the store from my car to tell them I would be late. They told me my appointment had been cancelled and asked if I had cancelled it and I replied “no” and asked when it had been cancelled but got no response to that. I arrived at the store and was told I had to wait 15-30 minutes. I told them I had driven 3 hours that day and that I needed to get something to eat as I had not eaten much but was told I had to wait in the store. I waited and watched other patrons who came in after me get served and I finally gave up and left. A very disorganized store with a lot of robot-like young kids working there who seemed to know very little about customer service. If this is the real face of Apple then I need to rethink my loyalty to this brand. Ridiculously bad customer service from seemingly trendy versions of automatons.

I think the problem is that there are not enough courageous people to express their rejection of such neglect, and to tell them that the company will not issue this "lazy" version of the phones with that stupid snout, which Steve Jobs was already doing, Prevent myself from imagining the face (Steve) when they come with this design laugh in their faces and then send them back to the workshops design to come up with something better And from there to hold Apple responsible for what it does with its phones, and to stop wasting money on its products only because they have bad badge on Apple, in the meantime may only reconsider the company's policies, until that time, the company will remain as it is because no one asked Of which change is simple.

I've had a few great experiences at this Apple store. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They were quick to offer me a try-on for the Apple Watch, and when my iPhone's camera has a small issue, they took care of it on the spot. My phone was better within 90 minutes! This has to be the worst customer service that I have ever encountered. I remember going to the Apple Store two years ago, and leaving always happy and satisfied. However, it was changed for the worse, much worse. I went today for two iPhone 7 Plus check ups. Both had battery issues, and one also had mic and speaker issues. The unknowledgeable lady tested my battery, and it came out to be Green which meant healthy. She claimed that it is a software issue. I told her to test the software, and it came out Green. Is it still a software issue? She said yes with absolutely no evidence. Stupid right? Doesn’t stop here. She then tested the mic and speakers. How’d she test them? Went into her system and ran a diagnostics. How would a diagnostics tell that the mic is delivering clear sounds? And… I didn’t claim that the mic didn’t work, I just said that it isn’t clear for the other people to hear me. She then tested the speaker the same way, and again I just said it isn’t as loud and clear as it used to be. They did absolutely nothing. Just a total waste of time. The manager was also really horrible. He knew that his employee’s customer service sucked but he ended up still taking their side. Very bad service.

Worst service I ever had! Said they are like a doctor's office and I had to set up an appointment but they certainly take my money real quick if I wanted to purchase something. Customers shouldn't have to wait when returning products and then treat us like we are stupid! I will never buy another apple product again once these are done. Not worth the stress, I like the individual stores better. Too many employees walking around "signing in" people when we just need an exchange. Shameful. Just found out the replacement IPad Air is a USED one! So I paid $504 for the original IPad Air in January 2016 and another $304 today (June 30, 2016) to find out they gave me a USED one! For $800 I could have purhcased a lap top. Matthew at the store gave me a used one, shame on him. I have Apple on the line and let's see how they can fix this for us.

A lady Madison helped me with my purchase decision for an iphone 7 and in the matter of an hour had everything switched over and running smooth. Hospitality and Openess to customers choice. I went in to check on an item I was thinking of buying. But as a buyer who does not want to regret notr return stuff just of meer dissatisfaction, so I went in and tried it on. The guys I was with was very accomodating and happens to know all the things that I need to know and was very much able to answer all of them. He was also very cheerful giving you that “you gotta buy now” vibe which was good and strong. Tempting very much but still got to hold my horses. Hahaha... Over all this place is very great for people trying on stuff that they’re thinking of buying. Covid19 wise they have been very compliant with health regulations mandated. Lines are there separated for pick-ups and walk-ins. Hand sanitizing before you enter has also been a must. Pretty much safe, clean and enjoyable place to be in./

Very poor customer service. I go in with issues related to my phone acting up when receiving calls. The "Genius" basically shrugged it off and pinned it on anything he can other than actually trying to help. I usually do not write review but I am fed up of having to go to that particular store and treat with unhelpful staff.

Unfortunately this store doesn't represent an "Apple quality" of service. After over an hour, they left my phone in a worse condition that it was (the speaker was weak and after the "repair" the speaker stopped working altogether). Not only they could not find the issue with the phone, they asked for $380 plus tax to replace the phone because they could not find a note from their colleagues at Apple. Unfortunately Kyle the store "leader" did not listen attentively to my constraints (I'm travelling) nor did he make a phone call to Apple to investigate. A 30 minute Call to Apple Canada fixed the matter. They also went above and beyond by giving me even more than I had expected. I wonder why the service at the store feels discriminatory but I hope this review finds its way. People come to Apple because people love Apple and the least we expect is to fix our problem, respect us and our time. Update: even after Apple Care fixed the issue on the phone, Kyle blocked the flow by saying that he is the "boss" while calling me a "smug", right at the Apple Store. He even called the senior manager at Apple Care a "bad judge" who shouldn't be making such decisions. 3 hours at Apple store now and we had to bring another manager to ease down the process and replace the phone in 5 minutes. I said to Kyle that ego talks only makes things worse and being a boss only means serving clients. He called me a preacher and sarcastically thanked me for giving him a "management lesson". Not at all what I thought would happen at the Apple store.

I broke the screen on my iPhone 7 Plus. I had AppleCare, so I made an appointment to have the screen fixed a few days later. When I showed up for my appointment, I was told they didn’t have my screen in stock and it would take a few days to order a new one in. I went back a few days later and had my screen replaced. I was told it would take a couple hours, and it ended up taking closer to 3. After leaving, I noticed some strange markings on the screen but they seemed to disappear after wiping the screen. The next day the markings were back, so I went back in to have it looked at. I was told I would need another new screen and that I would need to make another appointment. When I asked if they could guarantee that there would be a screen in stock on the day of my appointment, they said no and that I would have to take my chances, or I could call Apple directly for support. When I got home and called Apple, they said there was nothing they could do and the store should not have referred me to them. When I went back for the third time, I was checked in right away and someone started looking at my phone. They determined I needed a new screen, and then said where I was running beta software, they would need to downgrade my iOS to do the repair. I told them to do what they needed, I had a backup. Then they spent an hour trying to, unsuccessfully, downgrade my software. Once they finally figured it out, they went to get my replacement screen - only to tell me they didn’t have any in stock and I would have to come back after they had ordered one in. At this point I was so fed up, I just said no. Unacceptable. After another half hour, and speaking with a Manager, they offered instead to just replace my device. I provided this feedback via email to the Store Manager, to flag how nonsensical it is to be forced to make an appointment if there’s no guarantee they can have the part needed in stock for your appointment, and never receIved a response.

Today I went into the apple store to get my smashed screen fixed. I was told to wait an hour to get an appointment to talk to someone, and then was instructed to wait another hour to get my screen fixed. The lady took off my screen protector which i was using to stop glass from getting in my fingers and then sent the phone to the back. An hournlater I came back and was told that since during the summer when i smashed my phone screen and had it fixed by a third party (not apple) in ontario they were unable to fix it and wouldn't do anything about the screen protector either. I was willing to pay the $170 to get it fixed but they still refused for whatever reason. I'm not left with glass in my fingers and having to go buy a new screen protector while having to look for someone else to fix it. Such a waste of two hours.

Never EVER buy apple warranty! I have a 3 yr old mac book pro with a very typical battery problem: if the charger is disconnected, the computer dies. All they need to do is replace the battery. I go to this store with my computer still under full warranty (battery covered). They tell me they cant replace the battery under warranty, unless i also pay for a new logic board ($600) because apparently mine has water damage. --Big news to me as the computer has been used exclusively like a desktop in my home since i bought it. They reassure me that i must have spilled something on it. -- They warn me that if they replace the battery but not the "water damaged" logic board there is a "chance" the macbook will have glitches or wont perform as it did before. Me: Okay, let's replace the battery and keep the existing logic board. If it malfunctions as a result, it was my own fault as I knowingly took the risk. I've already got everything backed up. Genius: Our policy won't allow us to do that. You'll need to buy a new logic board if you'd like to replace the battery. $600. Me: Given that the battery is under warranty, and clearly my battery is toast as you've confirmed, why don't you give me the battery and I can do the replacement myself. Genius: Our policy doesn't permit us to do that. In the end, they refused to replace the battery covered under warranty because i refused to pay for a new logic board. I left completely aggravated.

Employees appear to be providing cookie cutter answers sometimes. There are a few employees who know what they’re doing but many don’t seem overly interested in helping customers. If they can dismiss your concern in a few words they will. I’ve been told many times there’s nothing they can do, and when I call Apple Support they tell me that they could have handled it at the store and I am sent back out only to have to explain to these people how to do their jobs. The one thing that rubbed me the wrong way aside from general lack of knowledge happened during an appointment I had at the Genius Bar a few months back. There was an elderly woman sitting next to me and she was having trouble with an unrelated issue when the Apple employee noticed she didn’t have the most recent software update on her MacBook, the Apple employee proceeded to ask her about her most recent backup and when the woman told her she didn’t have a backup the employee insisted she purchase some $100 external drive and that she needed it in order to do a backup when she didn’t. The employee made it seem like it was incredibly likely that something would go wrong during the update and she would lose everything on her computer. This employee was taking advantage of an old woman’s lack of knowledge just to make a sale when that’s not even why the lady came in in the first place. I’ve never heard anyone say they’ve lost data during an update, this employee said she would not update her computer (the woman didn’t know how) unless she bought this drive. Shameful, really opened my eyes and confirmed my thoughts about how Apple views its customers

Unfortunately left my cable at the store as I thought it was theirs. Left a message with them a few days later. No response from them. Otherwise they they fixed the problem Apple caused when an update was ignored and Apple locked my wife's iPad when she was using it during a meeting. Good thing I was in Halifax for a convention a few weeks afterwards.

I feel it is unfortunately for those who had a bad experience with this store. The employees were always very welcoming and kind, and taught me a lot about Mac. We even began to have conversations about other fun topics, like they wanted to engage with the customer. When my friend's phone broke we got assistance and a repair done within an hour of entering the store. I can only assume that those who could not find help went when it was very busy and the staff had no ability to assist them.

I was at the Apple Store today. My iPad was not working and I was ready to give up on this one year old iPad. Glen was very understanding and explained clearly, even to a 70 yr old, what was wrong and how he would have it fixed. Apple is fortunate to have an articulate, personable, young man like Glen. Very upset about my experience at the apple store. I cabbed there to pick up my iPhone 11pro, purchased it with a case that was for the iPhone 11pro and I asked one of the workers if a screen protector i was showing him was glass and also if it was for the 11 pro because for some reason there is absolutely no indication on the box of which phone the screen protectors are made for which is ridiculous. The guy working told me it was both for the 11pro and glass but when I got home it did not fit my phone as it was for the iPhone 11 and it was also plastic. Incompetent of the staff to not know their own products. I had to cab back and get a new one and did not even receive a refund for their staff being uneducated about their own products.

Worst experience ever. I was not able to play my music from my Apple Music with my 4G LTE turned on. The tech went ahead and erased all my info without my permission, now I have to spend hours downloading everything again. I went back and addressed this to one of the techs once I realized all my info was missing, they apologized and did nothing to help. Honestly, if you need help with your apple gear, go to 4Mart, Cell Icon or Geebo. These guys don’t know how to do their job and they work for APPLE! If I could leave a 0 star I would.

Went in because I had gotten sand in my charger port. The "genius" proceeded to try to wipe the sand out for 5 seconds with a brush then went out back to use a "special tool". She then came back out my phone as well as a contract. She said your phone is completely broken and there is no way to fix it. In a nervous ameteur salesman voice she then proceed to say if you sign here we can replace your phone(for the ridiculous price of 350 for a 16gb Iphone SE), this is a good time to upgrade. I said no thank you and went to a phone fixing store. Phone was fixed in 10 seconds with a tooth brush. This terrible experience completely tainted my view of apple!

I had an iphone7 and pairs for apple care the whole time I had it. When it became water damaged I went in and they said it would be an additional $200 to replace it. It took me a while to come up with the money and by the time I went back they now wanted $400. For a phone that is three generations old. They accused me of trying to repair it with non apple parts even though I bought it brand new from a carrier and never replaced anything on it. Then they told me the carrier must have sold me a refurbished phone. It was brand new in the original box from the factory. Terrible service. They don't know what they are talking about. DON'T DO IT.

Decent store and selection but be aware of off brand purchases like Belkin. Limited support offered to in store purchase of a Belkin wireless charger. Apple only offers returns or exchanges for 2 weeks, not acceptable for tech

After my iPhone 6SE went for a swim in the toilet I took it to the Genius Bar for help, and they said nothing could be done, that there was no way to open up the phone and repair it, and that all of my photos that hadn't made it to my (full) cloud were lost forever. I then took it to 4mart (Spring Garden) and they had the phone fixed within a day, with just the battery and glass replaced. Even if Apple didn't want to try to fix it, it would have been nice if they were honest about possible repair options I could look into ... instead of just telling me about how I could buy a new phone and purchase more iCloud storage.

I have been thinking of slowly converting everything at home to Apple. So i have been visiting the store a few time to look at their various options. To me, this store has mixed level of customer service. Somedays I get reps that will go out of their way to help me and other days I do not even get a hello. What i noticed is that the reps are less and less enthusiastic near the end of the day. Yesterday a rep kept following me around the store but did not interact with me. Did she think I was going to steal something? Another time a rep start greeting in mandarin which I had no idea what he said. Talk about assumption. Based of these apple experience, I am having second thoughts with my conversion to Apple. I will continue to look at Apple but buy from their online store once a decision has been made. I am disappointed that I did not a consistent level of service everytime I visit.

A very nice place with very friendly and helpful people! You can go with an appointment or as a walk-in client. The waiting is not too long and they have a great system to let you know when is your turn. The staff are great with good knowledge trying to help as much as they can. They explain the problems and recommend the solutions.

Went into the store to ask a tech for assistance fixing the connections on the inside of my iPhone 6 and after 2 seconds of looking with a flashlight looking in the charger port and where the SIM went in said it was unfixable and then offered me a new one for 400$. I went to Best Buy a got an iPhone & for 0$ during their family and friends mobile event. Probably won’t be back in the future.

I went to the store today at the Halifax Shopping Center planning to purchase either an iPad air or ipad pro . I am not very computer savvy , so I wanted to know which model to buy , I was directed to an associate wearing a ball hat . When I told him that I was using a year old android device and would like to know why I should choose an apple product and which one ,all he could say is they are all the same . I am a sixty plus person who has never used an apple device , I informed him of this , so again I asked what would be the advantages of switching to apple , and how I would use the device , and again he did not want to show me how to use the device or its advantages . So I thought I would ask again to explain some of the differences between the two models and could he direct me in choosing storage size , i.e. quantify what 64 gb looks like compared to 256 gb such one gb equals this many pics or something like this . To be honest my wife and I found him somewhat rude . I don't think that he could sell a life jacket to a drowning man! I'm sure that there are some good staff at the store but avoid the guy in the ball hat with a lot of tattoos . By the way we went to The Source and Joe was very happy to answer all my questions and I will be picking up my new device next week , also there price was better

Prices are not shown, nothing has upgradeable ram, storage etc. Value of these devices is low and cost is high. Rep said they come as they are thats it. The average person will fall for these sales tactics just keep in mind Apple is literally giving you a bad deal.

Went into Apple store to inquire about cleaning my Mac desktop and fixing an issue with my iPhone. Person seemed distracted when making my appt, kept looking around as though she had something else to do. Had to cancel my early morning appt and when I phoned them to cancel, I received a voice recording that they were not open. I was unable to leave a message to cancel. My appt was before store open hrs. So essentially I am a “no-show”. Gap in their system.

Completely surprised to go in there and be served at the cash by a girl who basically seem to radiate hostility combined with indifference. I really don’t understand but maybe she was not enjoying her shift on Christmas Eve. When I wished her a merry Christmas politely she didn’t reply and gave me what I can best described as the look of death with a side of “I am ignoring you actively” . I was really shocked ...totally not what I was expecting. I won’t be shopping there again

I’ve bought several products from Apple, and I can say I’ve never had a good experience with the staff here. They are very badly trained on customer service. I’ve been here atleast 20+ times, I’ve NEVER had a good experience. Based on the high prices, I assumed Apple should make customer service a priority. Clearly not the case.
