This Computer Repair belongs to the category of Computer store.
Offered a range of options to fix our desktop, all of them very reasonable. Informed us that we shouldn’t spend too much because we can only update for about 2 more years. Very knowledgeable and honest. Saved us a ton of money fixing up a one of our ancient desktops that we were going to scrap, and got our computer back to us the next day. Highly recommend!
Great service from some knowledgable guys. Would definitely recommend this place for buying a refurbished computer over craigslist. They even give you a warranty on the new hard drive!
They did an exceptional job fixing my MacBook Air. Affordable, fast, and it's working like new again. Highly recommend.
????
These guys are the best. Best prices and best service. Definitely recommend for anybody to go in and stop by just to check it out.
So honest and kind. Want the truth about what's going on with your Mac? Go here. He fixed my problem in about five minutes and charged me accordingly. I'm telling all my friends to come here after such a kind and fair interaction.
Friendly service, no-nonsense advice, reasonable rates, and fast turnaround. Good COVID protocols.
I've been told that they are the best circuity repair macbook store in lower mainland. friendly staff and estimate is free.
I bought a refurbished MacBook Pro from this shop in October 2015 (Mid 2012 - new SSD 1T drive with 8G of RAM) for about 1500$ (Amazing deal, right?). Initially everything appeared perfect, but problems arose within the first months of having it (including not having a working microphone) For almost a year I had minor issues with crashing, unable to locate the drive - still, it always managed to recover with a simple power off and letting it sit for a while. I took it back in to get looked at early on; they were very accomodating to fix any problems without charge, made a few adjustments (putting cables firmly into place, tightening screws etc.) and assured me that it was fine. However, the issues persisted. Obviously I was disappointed that this had been the outcome, but felt as if there was not much I could do as there isn't any warranty (other than their word) Fast forward about a year and a half, I'm overseas, and my Mac will not run any programs, just immediately crashes. I couldn't even access any of my files to download them onto a hard drive. Thankfully, I made backups. I needed to get it fixed ASAP, so I went to the Apple store. I was made aware, after a week of waiting for my laptop, that the cable connecting to the hard drive had been recalled. This was known information at the time I purchased it in October 2015. They fixed it free of charge, however this could have easily been solved if the technicians at this store knew what they were doing. SO... finally my laptop was running as it should... For the most part. Since I hadn't gotten around to it, the other day I went to get the microphone fixed. I was told that there WASN'T EVEN A MICROPHONE IN MY LAPTOP. I was also told, that I had liquid damage - not serious but still - from coffee or the like (which I have never done). 150$ just to get that added. My review (although little late) is to not only let people know my experience with this shop was terrible, but to expose the risks of buying from a non Apple retailer. I have always been told to avoid buying Apple products second hand, since they can lead to costly repairs down the road. Lesson learned.
Outstanding service. Honest and friendly. We will return for other computer needs. Thank you VDC VANDELTA
If you need Mac repairs, look no further! Ben and the Mac Place were able to fix my Macbook Pro for a reasonable price after I damaged some important internal bits and I thought the screen was a write off. They were also able to help with some other Macbook related questions and are very knowledgeable about all things Apple. I would highly recommend them!
They were very helpful and replaced a key for my MacBook without charging. It was really refreshing to after another place across the street tried to pressure me into replacing the whole keyboard.
Last December 2016 a friend gave me a 2007 iMac that he had sitting around. It did not work. I don't know anything about Macs. I phoned this store, brought it in, and they gave it a second life. They installed a newer version of an OS, new RAM, and it's been a pleasure ever since. It's become my multimedia pc. I even offered to give it back to my friend. He said it's mine. The staff here were excellent, and if I ever need something, I'll be coming back.
fair prices on MacBook Pro battery and cables
The hinges were broken on my old Macbook Pro and the screen was starting to come apart. Hossein replaced it for a very reasonable price—and at the exact price he estimated. Not only that, but he also replaced the long-lost gliders and mini-screws along the bottom casing, and cleaned out all the dust from inside—all for no extra charge. My old Mac now runs like new. The fans don't scream anymore and it no longer overheats. He's probably added at least two years of life to it, and I will be returning for annual maintenance on it. Highly recommended.
These guys are AMAZING. They took great care of me and fixed up my laptop and made it better than new. Trustworthy, kind, and care about their customers. I will be sending my friends and family here from now on!!!
Horrible service. Feels like I got ripped off by pirated software.
They did a wonderful job fixing my macbook's screen, and were extremely friendly.
Quick and easy! Hossein fixed and cleaned my laptop as well and it's a relief to have it back!
I bought my used 2010 iMac from Mac Place Ltd a couple years ago and has worked great ever since I bought it. I installed Sierra, the new operating system and my iMac became a zombie computer. I spent over two hours with Apple online service to no avail. I phoned Mac Place Ltd and Hossein and Ben could not have been more responsive to my plight. I dropped off my computer and hoped for the best.. I picked up my iMac the next day and Sierra was running smoothly. My old iMac did have a problem but thankfully was able to be fixed. I was not charged any money other than my original purchase price I paid for a used computer two years ago. Well done gentlemen. Well done indeed!
Very affordable prices for charges and excellent customer service. Helped fix my keyboard as well.
I wish there was a 5 plus option here. Honestly, I've never written a Google review, but I had to today. These guys are the best! A small local computer shop with old world class. Cheers guys!
These guys are honest and really know their stuff. I brought my 2015 MAC Book in for a repair that Apple Store said would cost $670. MAC Place fixed it in a few days for $90. Works perfectly! Thanks!
Superb service, modest prices. Mac Place service is more thorough and considerate than I've encountered elsewhere. And prices are so fair. More of my tech problems than I can count have been resolved by Mac Place. Perfect result every time. Heartily recommend.
So generous. Helped me out when my computer crashed - was a simple fix and they did it complementary. Going back tomorrow to pick up a new cable and will be sending anyone I know there that has a mac issue.
My Macbook Air stopped working and the Apple Store at Pacific Centre and they said I needed a new Logitech board for $650 (plus tax.) I took it to Mac Place in North Vancouver and they fixed it for $250 (plus tax.) Well done, guys!
Outstanding service - I cannot recommend highly enough
Fixed an MBA logic board and saved me $$$$. Went above and beyond and even loaned me an adaptor that I needed for free. Great to see that honest businesses like this still exist. 10/10
These guys rock. Brought in my beloved 2012 MacBook Pro 17" as it wasn't starting. They discovered water damage. Charged me way less than Apple, and somehow my computer is also running faster, my battery life is way longer, and the fan isn't cycling on all the time. I think they might be magic mac fixers. Wonderfully friendly and clear communication too. I will always go here now.
Mac Place and the folks here are wonderful. They care and want to help you first and foremost. A ++
Saved my Mac Pro and my wallet after the coffee spill at minimal cost. Thank you SO much. 5 out 5 !!
Super friendly, honest and quick replacement of my Macbook Pro battery (2012 Retina - where the battery is glued in and takes a lot of work to remove it). Price was great. But most memorably they were super friendly and helpful. Replaced a couple keys from my keyboard for free too. I live in East Van so have much closer options, but these are my guys now! Highly recommended.
Went in when my macbook was making buzzing sounds. They quickly took apart my laptop and fixed the issue on the spot. Excellent and friendly service!! ????
They seem like they know what they are doing. They won't sell me something that I don't need and recommend buying a new Mac Mini at the Apple store after explaining what I needed it for. I watched the tech explain what he was going to do to with another customer's two computers and what it would cost. The price was fair for the work needed. I am certified MS administrator for 20 years so I known my stuff. He was very friendly, and helpful. The prices for used Macs seemed good and all come with warranty.
This is an amazing place for repair devise from Apple, I brougth my Imac, he is very old Imac, I was afraid that it was impossible to fix, but the technician told me about the process for fixing and he will check and he will call me if this Imac can be fixed or not, He called me 1 day after and he said it can be fixed for an low price and they fixed so quick as 3 days. I did pick up it. My Imac works fine. Ladies, they are so gentlemen that he carried the heavy Imac to my car. Very nice guys and so professional. Thank you so much Mac place for your service, I recommend very deeply it.
I’ve gone here a few times (selling an old monitor, replacing a toasted hard drive and replacing chargers) They have always been super helpful with recommendations and quick with services.
These guys are AMAZING!!! I took my wife's Mac for screen repairs and they fixed the problem onsite in a mater of minutes. I am awed by their honesty and client service. Thank you!!!!
Not enough word to describe how skilled and humble these guys are. Over the years I have bought 3 lap tops for my kids and an iMac all still working great. Took one in for repair that I had bought some where else ,cheap repair cost and that is still working great too. I always recommend Mac place to people and they are never disappointed. Please support businesses like this. They are the heart of our communities.
Super smart guy thats super honest and fair pricing.
You can love your mac again - Ben and his team have given my 2011 Mac Book Pro the upgrade it needed. 8 months ago the onboard video chip died. This was a known issue that Apple had a repair program for, till 2016, mine failed after the date, the program ended and I was S.O.L. Simply Computing declared it a 6 pound paperweight and started shoving sales pitches down my throat. After madly googling and reading reviews, I found Mac Place. Ben was very personable, very honest, did great work. But this was a bandaid. Ben warrantied the work for 3 months, but he was very forthright and let me know it would likely fail again. I got 9 months out of it. Out of convenience I tried Burrard Laptop (it's locate about 5 min from my home) - they told me there was nothing wrong! (My machine wouldn't even boot up!!!) My next Saturday, back to Ben, again, he was super honest, did great work, replaced the chip, didn't charge me labor and went a step further, let me know that my HD was on it's last legs and likely the reason the first chip had failed. My HD was heating up something fierce. They provided me with several options to fit a variety of budgets . My 2011 paperweight is now happily buzzing along with a new SSD, it's faster and quieter than it has been in years. Can't thank Mac Place enough!
Great service, great prices!
Really nice guys who know what they're doing. Won't upsell you and genuinely have your best interests at heart. I would highly recommend going here if you need help with a mac!
these guys saved my computer! i have a macbook pro 17" (the last of its kind) and the graphic card on the logic board failed (a common problem with that model i am told). i had taken my laptop to 'simply computing' when the problem occurred, who diagnosed it, but they couldn't do anything to fix it as apple just stopped making parts for that model in the past six month. unfortunately they were not very helpful in offering possible solutions to try to save my precious machine either. so i took it to apple, and the guy i spoke with at the genius bar offered some fair advices, and also gave me some valuable recommendations, including this repair shop. i tell you, these guys are real geeks — they actually fix broken parts (which apple would normally just replace). so if you think you've hit a wall with your computer, like i did, but care to give more life to your machine, i highly recommend these folks! plus they offer a 90-day warranty on their work so if it doesn’t hold the first time (as it did for me) they will fix it again for free. plus i think their prices are reasonable. i didn't expect cheap — i expected to save $4K+ in not having to buy another machine. thank you so much ben and hossein! you guys rock! ___ note: i believe they changed the name off their business, and they are now called the "mac place"
The first time I heard about this place was from another computer shop in Vancouver. Brought my Asus gaming laptop there to see if they can solve the problem of occasional screen blackout. They disassembled it, cleaned up the fan and heat sink, even replaced my old matte LED screen panel with a much better glossy panel. I can tell they are very knowledgeable in repairing laptops. What surprised me was their speed and cost. So far it took me about $120. I don't even need to wait for new screen panel because they found one right away from their inventory. Amazing!
Expert, Knowledgeable Service
Meticulous repair work, thorough verification of repair. Considerate and knowledgeable Staff!
Whenever I need some of my older but still very useable Mac gear fixed or hardware upgrade, Hosain and Ben are my go-to guys. Excellent service and fair pricing, highly recommend this company for your Mac needs.
these guys are awesome. got referenced to them by another laptop repair place and thank god i listened. thanks guys!
Unfortunately very bad impression for getting quote for repairing my mac. i think people should respect each other especially customer when they need help and their basic question and concerns be answered.
So impressed with these guys! I took my 1 year old MacBook Air into the Apple store and found out that the logic board had been fried. A repair through them meant ordering in a brand new logic board with an $800 price tag. These guys fixed my issue for $250! They were super friendly, had the job done within a couple days, and I even learned a few tricks when booting up and shutting down. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
Excellent Service & Workmanship. My iMac video card died and I was able to trade up to a newer model they had in stock. Guys were up front and honest and I had a great experience! They even pulled my old hardrive out and gave it back to me !
I'm allergic to macs
Great experience!
They are great! Had one of my Macs fixed (replaced GPU chip) for less money than I expected. As an extra bonus they fixed my disconnected iSight camera cable. Good work!
I went there quite a while ago and got ripped off. They charged me $30 for a used optical drive that they pulled out of a computer, while a new optical drive would have been $25 at NCIX. I really regret taking their hideous offer. The optical drive they sold me was too noisy, so I just replaced it with one that I got for $2 at FreeGeek.
I brought in my Macbook Pro that had been incorrectly repaired by another shop to see if they could make it right. The gentleman at the store fixed it on the spot and refused to take any kind of payment. He was very friendly and helpful. I would take my Macs in for repair to this shop anytime. This was after he has helped me with another problem on another Mac last year. I highly recommend them!
These gentlemen know their business exceptionally well and the result is a better customer experience for you. If you don't need it, they will tell you. I appreciate this very much - their trustworthiness. I know what they tell me is the truth. A commodity that is very rare these days. I highly recommend them for your computing needs - whatever it may be. Thank you guys. You have saved me time and money!
I have been to these two twice now. I have not had an issue at all with their service. They are way quicker than anyone (1-2 days/repair), they are good at explaining what the issue might be, they do an extremely good repair job, and they include multiple other cleanings and checks with any visit. Ben provided me with photos of the swapped parts and what he cleaned. I cannot recommend these guys enough!
One of the most honest and fair repair shops you will ever meet. Good deals on used Macs
Great service or what! The best darn Mac shore In Vancouver. A store that really cares about its customer. Thank you Ben and Hossien for looking after me whenever I have needed your help. You are both truly wonderful guys. Robert
These guys are the best.
Super helpful and actually gave advice that meant I didn't need a repair. Will definitely go back!
These guys are experts at what they do. They also have a selection of great products at a reasonable price Highly recommended!
These guys are great, they know Mac's have fair pricing and are always happy to give advise.
I had my older iMac fan changed and upgraded with a new ssd. This store is honest and I totally recommend this place if you need to fix or upgrade your Mac.
These guys were great! Really helpful and friendly - happy to recycle my old computer and salvage what I had on my hard-drive in exchange, free of charge!
Newer Macbook not easy to be Services. expert Skills Level only 2016 Touch Bar fixed replace USB-C and fixed damages on my Motherboard. Ben & Hossein Master Techs in Mac Repairs. Mac Repair Store are Far and Few.
Great service, very friendly and honest! 100% recommended.
One of the rare shops where if I could give 6 or 7 stars I happily would. Mac Place has been my go-to laptop repair place for years. Ben and Hossein are incredibly knowledgeable, technically brilliant, and GREAT people. I brought my early 2011 Macbook Pro into their shop because it stopped booting up. Uh-oh, time for a new Macbook maybe? Ben had a quick look and identified graphics chip immediately. I told him what was most important to me was the data, so he popped the back of and pulled the 500 GB SSD drive sold me a $15 cable and I had all my data (didn't back up for a month - ooops). I was just on my way out the door after deciding to let the Macbook go, so happy was I that I was able to recover my records, when I decided to see what it would cost to replace the chip. They quoted me $250. I have another, newer Macbook, but this one was still working so what the heck, I said yes. Hossein said there is a 10% chance that their fix won't work and if it doesn't they won't charge me a dime. I don't know about you, but every other repair place will charge you at least $100 just for the diagnostic time. Not these guys though. When I came back to pick up the Macbook, they reinstalled my SSD drive and I tried to enter my PW after boot up, but it wasn't working. After some testing it was discovered that my key board was not working. Now I don't know if it just died there or if it coincided with the death of the graphics chip, but Hossein said to come back the next day. I did so and offered to share the cost of the keyboard because it was unclear how it came to not work. Ben said "no." I offered three times and each time he said "no." Not only did they repair the Macbook (on which I writing the review now), but they also replaced a broken plastic piece on the hinge, greased the hinge, and replaced (and glued in) two of the rubber footpads on the bottom of the Macbook. Ben wouldn't have said anything except I noticed the broken plastic piece was fixed. Who does that anymore? THESE GUYS. THEY'RE AMAZING.
I recently had an issue with my mid 2012 Mac Book Pro.I called around to a few shops and they recommended contacting Mac Place. I called and spoke with Aziz and asked about repair costs, diagnostic fees etc. The shop does not charge diagnostic fees and I felt that I was in good hands based on our phone conversation so I took my Mac to their shop. They were able to diagnose the problem and repair my Mac in 2 business days and only did so after explaining the nature of the issue and the value of the repair relative to the current value of my Mac. In addition to that repair, they kindly tweaked a few things for me such as replacing a few screws, repairing the wifi antenna, and of course the main job, replacing the logic board. I appreciated their professionalism/ speedy work and the repair comes with a 90 day warranty as well. So I recommend without hesitation this shop for repairs and also for sales of used Macs, for which they have a great selection at reasonable prices. Thanks guys!
Nothing but respect for Mac Place. I'm a grad student which means two things: 1. Not much money. 2. Lot's of essays and research. Last week, my computer began to freeze and die every time I tried to use it. In googling the problem, it was suggested that it was probably a problem with RAM. I called Mac Place and it was suggested that I was probably looking at a process that would cost $250.00 if I was lucky, and $480.00 if I wasn't. After gulping hard, I brought the computer in for a look see. After two days I received a phone call from Mac Place saying that it had simply been a loose screw that was shorting the RAM. They took care of the problem and cleaned the fan and did so free of charge. FREE OF CHARGE. In a world where many businesses try to pray on ignorance and gouge customers, this was a breath of fresh air. When I went to pick up my laptop, the technician patiently explained that my hard drive would need some work in the next few months and suggested that the sooner I did it, the cheaper it would be (less labour costs). Can't thank them enough and wholeheartedly recommend Mac Place.
i've brought a few Mac computers (laptops, MacMinis) here and these guys really know their stuff. i am a well versed Mac user and do many repairs myself. sometimes the repair is over my head, and they handle these repairs with ease. reasonably priced too.
