Needed an internal optical drive for my first pc build. Looked at getting them online for 20-25 bucks new. Decided i was too excited and went to concept to buy the part. The man there charged me 50 dollars for the part and it didnt come with the sata cable let alone a box. My mistake for walking away with it but i was too excited to get home and plug it in (which is when i realised i wasnt given a cable). Upon further inspection i see the lable is peeled and the part is scratched, very clearly had been used many times prior to my purchase. If you are new to building, maybe just a little dumb. Double check they arent taking advantage of you. Also im not sure if this is a standard rate but i have never heard of anyone charging 300 dollars for windows!

I am so thankful that I found Dwight at Concept Computers. I was in full crisis mode when my laptop crashed due to a major hardware failure and I could not recover any of my files or data. Dwight was able to diagnose the issue, recover all my data, back up my system and install it in new laptop in record time. The transition to the new laptop was seamless - he took care of everything. The laptop he suggested was perfect and I could not have got a better deal at any big retail outlet. I initially went to Concept Computers because they had previously helped out my mother with her laptop, she was extremely pleased with the service. If anyone can please my mom, you know they are good!! I would recommend Dwight and Concept Computers to anyone in need of computer service or sales.

Dwight was very pleasant and knowledgable. He fix the problem for my computer but was not accurate on his timelines for completion of the work. He originally told me that he would have my computer available for pick up by 5pm on Friday. I called him at 430pm that day. He informed me that the computer would not be ready until noon the next day. When I arrived at 1230pm the next day, he had not finished working on the computer. I went across the street to run some errands. When I returned at 1pm ( 30 miinutes later) my computer was ready. He charged me a total of 3 hours for work on Friday and another full hour of work. He recommended that I install a anti-virus software and charged me $118. I check online for the same software package which I could download for $60. I appreicate his knowledge of my computer and the fact that he does all his own work on the premises. If I am ever in the market for another PC computer. I would return to Dwight to look for a re-furbished device.

My security camera computer stopped working for my business and I needed it fixed immediately. Did a search and Dwight was the closest store in our area. Dwight could sense the urgency when we brought it to him because we us it as a preventive measure to prevent claims at out store. He had us up and running in no time. So I thought I would try him with our personal computers because I was tired of getting my computers back and always having issues from my previous guy. I have been delighted since I switched everything over to Dwight at Concept Computers. I recently purchased my new desktop system there and got it in two days at a reasonable price. I highly recommend having the maintenance agreement with them. Not because there was anything wrong with the computer (it's great) but I had several glitches with various programs and add-ins I had been previously using. Dwight and Melanie treated me as their number one customer and it was such a time-saver having them service my computer remotely rather than having to take it in. I highly recommend them.

Misdiagnosed my computer and spoke to me in a very condescending way. Charged me $160 dollars and told me my CPU was faulty. I went through the process of getting a new CPU only to have the same issue. Took my computer to a different shop and they figured out the problem in about 30 minutes and charged me a fraction of the cost. I would avoid this place if you are looking for computer diagnostic and repair.

I took my laptop into them because either the hard drive or the CPU fan was making a grinding noise and the laptop had died a couple of times. This was a little more than a year ago. I had been in New Zealand but had to return to Canada for a family emergency. Having a working computer was critical to resolving my family issues. He diagnosed the problem as a faulty hard drive. He also "serviced" the CPU fan. He then sold me a new solid state hard drive and then he sold me Emsisoft virus protection (totally my fault for getting sucked into his B.S.). Total bill well north of $1K. Flash forward to a few months ago. Same noise sme malfunctions. Took it into Evergreen and they tell me the CPU fan is gone, showed me the issue. To cut to the chase, my advice is DO NOT trust Concept Computers. And DO NOT ever invest in Emsisoft - a total rip off.

I took my(2012) Imac 27 inche computer to Concept yesterday morning, they had worked on it the year before and it had cost me over $450,it crashed in January of this year, but i never got the time to take it in until yesterday ,I explained the problem to the owner and he plugged it in and after 30 seconds said, it's not repairable, but I have a 2009 repaired one ,you could have for $895+tax!!! And by the way we could recycle your imac for you! I said no thank you and I took my i mac down to 15th and Pemberton to The Computer Guys (Mark Smith)and had it fixed for $100! Terry Sayyari. I made a mistake! When I went to pick up my computer Mark Smith (the computer guys)said to me ,he made a mistake, he quoted me the wrong estimate, the repair job only cost me $50! Because he didn't spend too much time on it!!!

Concept Computers won't try and compete with the cut-rate computer guys because they give far more value for your dollar than you will find anywhere else. Overall, a decent family-run business with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I brought my water-damaged laptop in for a diagnostic and got some good feedback and recommendations. However, a minor disappointment was that all my original torx screws were replaced by random phillips screws; and two screws were missing - one of which is used to hold the SSD in place. Not too big of a deal given that my computer is inoperable, yet it is still disappointing having your device returned to you with unoriginal and missing parts.

No longer am I sitting at home frustrated or feeling like I’m on my own when it comes to problem solving or finding solutions on my laptop. Dwight set me up with a new laptop that actually works, improved my computer’s virus protection and has been there to help me learn the ins and outs of my new laptop through remote service – responding promptly at least eight times (so far…) to my calls, inquiries and need for assistance. There has been no limit to how helpful he has been. I can sit down at my laptop and know it will work and all my valuable information and photos are protected and backed up. My 5 year old computer was toast, wouldn't turn on without freezing, and it seemed like it was the harddrive. After replacing it (and data transfers, and reinstalling everything, etc), everything was working like new again. I never felt pushed, they explained my options, were super friendly and quick about it. Unfortunately, after a couple of weeks, the screen started freezing again (turns out there were multiple problems). They felt quite bad about it, and the owner ended up selling me a refurbished ThinkPad that he was going to keep for himself at a ridiculously low price, and did all of the same data transfers/updates/installations that had to be done on my old computer at no extra charge. I felt that they had my best interests at heart, and would absolutely recommend to anyone.

My desktop PC had a virus and a friend recommended that I take it to Dwight at Concept Computers. He was able to completely eradicate the multiple viruses on my computer and installed a better anti-virus program than the one I was using. He had to backup my data files, complete windows installation incl hard drive formatting and partitioning, install windows 7, load motherboard drivers, etc and restore my data files. All was working perfectly when I picked it up and no viruses! He includes a free follow-up visit to address any questions or concerns and I just did my follow-up last week. Very happy with his services and highly recommend!

I had the WORST service here and the lack of professionalism was appalling. I brought my laptop in for what should have been a minor fix. I brought it home, the problem still wasn’t fixed and the issue escalated. I was told that there would be no refund AND that I would have to pay more even though I already paid him to not fix my original problem. On top of this, he attempted/almost pushed my laptop right off the desk and told my partner off. In regards to his comment - I have no doubt that his cameras will prove how he tried to harm my laptop by pushing it off the table. Good customer service in this situation would be to at least refund my money. I should not have to pay for a service I failed to receive. Additionally, the fact that he would reply to defend himself rather than try to rectify the situation speaks volumes about the business he conducts.

I needed a lost partition recovered on my external hard-drive, but other places downtown were quoting $900-$1000 and 2-3 weeks to get the job done. Back with in 48 hours at the time arranged with the fixed computer, and went through our shopping list of needs. We dropped by today to get a tutorial on google music which she had recommended for us, she took the time to explain it to us and get us going. I originally came in to purchase a new graphics card. When I got home to install it I learned that the card was not compatible with my current power supply (even though Dwight said they would be compatible). When I called him to tell him about this mistake he offered to replace the power supply to one that would allow for the card to work at no extra cost.

My computer had to be wiped clean and everything reinstalled. They were extremely thorough, ensured everything was as I wanted and gave me lots of information to help me now and in the future. They showed interest and very patient with my many questions. I have called back for clarification and they are always helpful and happy to oblige me. The turnaround was very quick. I had taken it to another shop days before and they sent me home 'fixed' and I still had the problems. So this was a huge relief when Concept corrected and improved everything. Bonus was them stopping the junk mail I was being swamped with! Others, including my service provider, said there was no way to stop it. I have not received any since bring it home 5 days ago! I highly recommend them to everybody!

I came into his shop hoping that he could restore my Outlook as I had inadvertently deleted it (lesson learned – don’t move/delete files before first ensuring you know what you’re doing). Even though I had supposed backups on a flashdrive, the files were empty or had little data but Dwight persevered and found the hidden file much to my sincere gratitude. Dwight took the time to discuss the results and made suggestions on how to prevent future occurrences. One star is too generous. Lots of 5 star reviews from friends & family, I see. Problem is that between Concept Computers (formerly Westcoast Computers), owner Dwight makes his living by bilking customers throughout the years in his failed businesses. He boasts many years of experience and assumes you won't know any better, which is a trait typically found in arrogant people. When your computer has technical issues you should entrust your PC with someone who has the capacity to understand business ethics and empathize in a bad situation, working towards the best resolve. Reading these reviews it appears Dwight personally enjoys vigorously responding to critical reviews while bringing up personal details of his customers' experiences. Pretty low class! I only wish he was so enthusiastic about fixing my PC. He does indeed have the knowledge/experience/ability to do much better but maybe it's too enjoyable to push the limits of what someone can get away with, rather than the honest, studious approach. That's what is so troublesome here. Though it was a long time ago I had my dealings with Dwight, the experience was truly unforgettable. He misdiagnosed the issue I was facing at least 3 times. Accusations included using a "pirated" version of Windows, having viruses, and a defective sound card. Ended up after 5 days of doddling it was a bunk hard drive that came with the PC still covered under warranty (the very same new PC I'd purchased from Dwight only weeks prior!) Still, he demanded $450 for the series of misdiagnoses that came out of 4 hours of his time over 5 days. When I refused to pay for his misgivings - and ultimately something that he concluded was a warranty issue with the machine he sold me - his attitude became ugly and he quickly stepped out of line with me. And that didn't phase me in spite of Dwight being hostile and insulting, I still tried to work it out in a civil manner to no avail. He must stash his manners in the same spot as his ethics. So I've done what I can to get the word out and reveal the way in which this man conducts his business. There are many others who've been burned but have chosen to stay quiet but that's not my style. I really dislike people who make their money dishonestly, and I'm guessing (hoping, frankly) that Dwight has lost potential revenue from those I've directed away from his establishments. I'll continue to assist people in avoiding the costly nightmare and catastrophe one will certainly find at Concept Computers. Don't allow yourself to get ripped off by this man. I fully expect his response to this review will be engaging, and my advice would be to focus on better customer service and support rather than fighting with those you've ripped off and changing the names of your business to perpetuate the scams - what a "concept" that would be! Smart people will see the overly-defensive rhetoric as another desperate attempt to keep operating this low-level con routine.

Just want to share that our experience with Concept Computer Corp was absolutely phenomenal in all possible ways. From their knowledge of products, to the explanations of these products in layman's terms and in listening to what we wanted and needed. They guided us throughout the whole process. Their price point is fair and the final bill made total sense for all of the work that they did. Plus the personal service in helping us make the transition and in adapting our new services to our other devices. Whenever we called we always felt that we were not an intrusion. Dwight ripped me off in a big way, and was so unreasonable and unwilling to work with me to resolve my computer issue at a fair price. Poor service, and an expensive lesson learned for me to totally avoid Concept Computers/Westcoast Computers, and might advise you to do the same.
