The person called Rafeeq is a scam artist. I brought my laptop in that was stuck on the apple logo screen and wouldn't get passed that screen. After 2 hours he called me and said that I won't be able to start the computer again and he might be able to recover the data but it would cost 700. I said no, I will just take the laptop elsewhere, he dropped the price down to 500 dollars. I still said no. I took it somewhere else and they said the hard drive just needed error repairs. I have recovered all of my files myself. Thank God I didn't fall victim for these guys.

Racic and his team at Computer Star are professional, considerate, and provide fast, effective service for repair work of Apple products (MacBooks, MacBook Pros, etc. (and PCs) ), though I can only attest to his professionalism in very quickly (less than 15 minutes) replacing a smashed Apple computer screen, and then, installing a brand new screen and spine for my 13" MacBook Pro (an older model). Priced reasonably, and unlike some of the other Apple repair shops, which don't service older Apple models, Computer Star provides every kind of Apple repair imaginable - from recovery and HD repairs to repairs of the hardware itself. I was at the store in the afternoon and I left within 20 minutes of arriving and explaining the issue. Very professional and thoughtful, as well. Highly recommended, especially for those who have difficulty finding a reliable, consistently perfect service of Apples and other Mac products. Thanks to Racic and his team for putting my mind at ease and fixing my MacBook Pro issues permanently and immediately.

My 2011 Macbook Pro's logicboard had failed and Apple told me that they weren't able to replace it since they didn't have the parts anymore, but also they also implied that it was irreparable. I was lucky I researched a little and found Computer Star and I'm pleasantly surprised by how fast and simple the fix was! It took only fifteen minutes - and I was fully prepared to leave my laptop for an entire week. The technician was incredibly nice and assisted me with all my questions. I sent my 2011 17" MacBook Pro (MBP) to Computer Star to have a well-known GPU issue addressed. When I sent it away, I was no longer able to successfully boot up my MBP. When I got it back from Computer Star, the GPU issue was completely resolved and I had a functional MBP again. A little more than 2 months after getting it back, my MBP was again non-functional, but with different symptoms. I reached out to Computer Star (Rafiq) for follow-up support. We got on a phone call together and he patiently diagnosed the issue with me remotely over the phone. Much to my surprise, the cause of my follow-up issues turned out to be my newly-purchased replacement battery. And so, my MBP is working once again. Excellent service! Rafiq knows what he's doing. While he's a bit short when communicating over email, when I got him on the phone, it became clear how much pride he takes in his work. Shipping my MBP to Computer Star (during COVID) and receiving it back (to Baltimore, MD) left me to fend without it for over a month, which was frustrating. But, once Computer Star had it in their hands, they turned it around within a few days. So, I can't blame them for the slowness. If I had it to do over again, I'd declare a lower value for customs (since I was shipping it for repair, not for sale). I've noticed some power-related wonkiness with my MBP, post-GPU-fix. In the back of my head, I still worry that, in addressing the GPU issue, another issue was introduced. But, I'm happy that I made the effort and investment to get more life out of my MBP, as it should be completely viable for many, many more years. And I'm also happy that I opted for Computer Star. Highly recommended!

Computer Star has been one of my most important relationships for the last 6 years in which I have owned a MacBook Pro. I have always counted on this business to provide me with reliable and cost-effective services, but this last year has made computer star even more important to me. In late September I experienced a house fire, my entire music studio was located directly under the hot spot, and most everything was destroyed. The last and most important component of my studio was my MacBook Pro, which although removed to another area of the house, still suffered a great deal of smoke damage. The damage was so severe that all of the contents of that same room were disposed of in a trash bin. I saved the computer in hopes that the shop could do something to save the heart of my music... And they did! The body of the computer may have been badly damaged, but my computer is still working! Two weeks later, another music colleague also lost her home in a fire. Again the laptop was in perilous circumstances... This time smoke and severe water damage... And they managed to save the precious data from that laptop. Because of Computer Star, one of the key organizers of Canada Music Week was back in business... And many careers were saved. I firmly believe in this business and will always be a customer. UPDATE Friday September 14 I have moved out of Toronto to Caledonia...and I still drive 3 hours (round trip) to get my repairs. Best Price, Best People, and So Reliable. Just found my MacBook pro without a working screen. Apple says throw it away... Computer Star has developed a work around saving me time and money. Best part is that they specialize in data recovery, so I've never worried about losing my career on a repair!

Had my 2012 macbook pro battery replaced here. My experience was really bad. The location I went to is at Ridgeway Dr, Mississauga. I was getting "Service Battery" on my mac. On December 07, 2018, after I left my macbook pro to have the battery replaced, I was initially told that the battery in store didn't work and I would have to wait 2 days. I took the partially working battery (after giving a $50 deposit on it) so that I can at least work and come back when the good battery was in stock. Even this partially working battery was actually useless as I had to keep my mac plugged in otherwise it would shut down. I came next Thursday (Dec 13, 2018) where I was given a "new battery". Within one month, it started showing me "Service Battery" status and dying every now and then - just like my old battery. I paid $156 for this so called "new battery" which as per the person in store "he paid extra to get it for me". As of today (Mar 11, 2019), this battery has cycle count of 34 and status of "Service battery" and my mac shuts down randomly. It's in worse condition than how it was with my old (original) battery. I would NOT go back there and don't trust their service. I'm really unhappy with the service and would not recommend others to go there. I would give it 0 star if possible.

Computer Star is the best choice if you have a problem with your external hard drive. A month ago, my external hard drive stopped working, and I was worried about losing all my data. I have a few complaints because they don't tell you the downsides. So I will: My early 2011 MacBook Pro would not boot. After I paid to have it shipped to Computer Star, they told me it has a Windows partition and their fix would not work with Windows. I asked why and learned that their fix bypasses one of the two graphics processors. OK, I can live without Windows and told then to proceed. They should warn customers in advance! They paid for return shipping back to me. They chose the cheapest option with no signature required, so I get home to find my computer waiting outside my door. Lucky it wasn't stolen! Then I turn it on and discover that my second monitor doesn't work. I call again and they explain their fix also prevents the external video output from being used. They didn't warn me about this!!! Then they try to sell me an external USB to HDMI adapter. My MacBook Pro model is USB 2.0 so this severely limits the amount of bandwidth available for video, at best you will get 1080p resolution IF you get an adapter that works and at that point your USB will be maxed out. They say your MacBook will be worth $1,000+ after the fix..... not with the Thunderbolt / DisplayPort disabled!!! I refuse to pay them any more money. Their website has lots of info about how good, unique and permanent their fix is, but nothing about these downsides. If they update their website to disclose these limitations, then there is some hope for you. Otherwise, good luck.

Miracle workers! They were able to save all my photos and data after accidently submerging my iphone 6 in water. Apple and other Apple certified stores said it was impossible to get my photos back but Computer Star was able to save them all! Very reasonable price - quoted $750 from another data recovery company and less than half the price from Computer Star! They were also able to fix the phone and save all the data on it for a very reasonable price. Quick to reply and complete repairs. Live 3 hours away but if ever in need of help again - will be returning to this location! Thank you again for saving all my photos from our recent vacation!

Have come to Computer Star for about 4 years as I got fed up with the high prices and long wait times at the Apple Store. Turnaround time is excellent and he has a Dust Free Work Room which increases the reliability of the work. Was also able to extract data from a MacBook that crashed and they did this within a week. Store location is not obvious but it is beside a large Daycare.

Stop looking for other places to fix your Apple computer. I brought my MacBook in after it had issues I couldn't fix myself. I replaced some cables, but the machine was kaput. This store fixed it. I was so happy with the price and results that I returned later to increase my RAM. 4gb to 8 GB for $100 (which includes parts and service). I'm about to go back to upgrade to 16 GB and an SSD. Unfortunately they are close on Sundays, so I decided to write this review lol.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! I came here once before and replaced my iPhone XR screen they charged me $120 for replacement. Now i came back to fix the same exact screen they replaced and they are trying to charge me $240 dollars to replace again, mind you the iPhone XR came out 4 years ago so to fix the screen for that price is ridiculous i was basically about to be ripped off never going here again! go to BUYNSELL they fixed my screen for $100

DO NOT TRUST THIS STORE. I called Computer Star and they confirmed that a free estimate could be provided for my broken IMac. I brought in my iMac and as soon as I walked in the door an individual named Rafik was trying to upsell me by stating that he has good use iMacs for sale. I was a little surprised considering I hadn't even got through the door and he's trying to up sell me a computer. Despite this, I left my computer for an estimate. Shortly thereafter, Rafiq contacted me and said the repair would be $250 and once again he tried to upsell me some computers he had in the store. I thanked him for the estimate and asked him to confirm what is wrong with my computer? He told me it would cost $50 for him to tell me what is wrong with the computer. I said this is ridiculous as I was told a full free estimate would be provided. He said he'll make a one-time exception and go against store policy to tell me what is wrong with my computer and then vaguely described the reason for the $250 estimate. If his goal was to achieve a $50 estimate for his time, I am fine with that if he told me that from the beginning. Thereafter, I picked up my computer and he didn't even say a word to me. This was easily the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. Not sure where all these good reviews are coming from because my experience was terrible from start to finish.

On more than one occasion, Rafiq has brought my favourite Apple computer back from the dead. In particular, he managed a very tricky transfer of data from my old Macbook to my new one.
