Non existent customer service, I put an order in online and it went on back order, i can understand that because its around the holidays, however when it was shipped they emailed me the wrong tracking number and if I tried to access the tracking number from the order page i just got a message saying Error could not create object, I decided I'd call to try and sort this out, waited for an hour and then was sent to the voicemail where I only heard a busy tone and could not even leave a message, I then put a ticket in online and asked for a call back as well, no one answered the ticket in the supposed 1-2 business days so I tried another ticket all the while calling to no answer every business day as well, this continued for over a week until I received a notice from Canada post saying it was shipped back to the factory, I checked the invoice to see if I had made a mistake but the address was certainly submitted correct, I contacted them in another ticket about this and yet again received absolutely no response, a few days later again the money was just refunded to me, I'm glad to have been refunded but even still after refunding they have not responded at all, I'm still waiting to get an answer as I ordered these items at a special price and would at least appreciate an answer as to why this was handled so poorly.

My first order was a large costly item which came with a harsh smell of cigarettes as if a heavy smoker smoked on it till the last minute it was delivered to me. The second order was no different as it was a replacement. Both came with a horrible smell which was intoxicating. We are in a pandemic and they did absolutely nothing to stop from both orders coming in poor hygienic conditions. They don't even try to at least change courrier or alert them of this unacceptable behavior. I suggest to stay away unless you want to put your pc build and house at risk especially if the order included a power supply. I suggest as well to consider any other store even though if there's a price difference as trust me you'll waste more time with CanadaComputers which won't make the 1$ to 50$ worth it. Also keep note they don't value customer loyalty nor satisfaction. They went downhill since the pandemic while making sufficiently more money than before which gives them the possibility to reinvest in better customer support but they are instead pocketing it. They will give you the runaround/dead-ends.

I spent thousands of dollars at this place in the past 3 years. Recently sent questions by emails looking to spend MORE money, but no response, nothing, zero. On the phone, you are lucky if they pick-up.. Just BAD customer service. Also their website and online shopping is a mess... I will do my best to shop elsewhere, you should too.

The staff was helpful from minute one! I told them exactly what I wanted and they found more than one possible way to get what I was looking for. They went above and beyond to help me, even calling a taxi because I didn’t bring a car and the computer I just purchased was heavy. They showed respect to everyone who walked in. I 100% recommend this shop

They are trying to kill the business . Only Allowing one person to enter the store ( Store is over 6000ft) , and it’s freaking cold outside . In addition they do not take orders on the spot. I know what I want , they still asked me to place an order online and wait 20min . Fix your system or you will go out of business sooon

The absolute WORST customer service I've ever had. West Island store NEVER answers the phone. I made an online purchase, 9 days later I heard nothing so I went to the store. They had no idea there was an order and now the computer I ordered is back order. Two days after that I get an email saying they cancelled my order. I would call them but you know .. The whole phone thing. Steer clear of this dump.

Merlin P

Terrible customer service. they don't answer their phones. I called 10 times and then had to go to the store for a simple question for an item they didn't have. They had more employees than customers in the shop and still couldn't answer their phone. When it came to finding cables for my monitor they were unhelpful. The shop is disorganized. They need better staff who Aren't lazy and mad at customers. I spent a lot of money there a couple weeks ago, trying to support a local business instead of amazon, but shops like these just make it hard.

Brain Locker Room

"Temporarily closed for cleaning" Can't pay overtime to have it cleaned during off business hours. Can't clean it himself when a pandemic tightens the budget. Loses all the early bird profits. Would've rated Pepega/10 if possible.

Sometimes, you just have to leave it to the professionals Like the PC noob that I was, I had made an ill-fated decision to buy a pre-built gaming PC from newegg last year. Only when I decided to transfer the parts to a new case (Fractal Design Define 7 Compact), did I discover just how messed up the internals were. I took the half-assembled mess to Canada Computers and they immediately proceeded to identify the problems and recommend the new adequate parts. After paying for all the services and parts, it took the shop not even an entire day to take out all the messed up parts, install the new components, and manage the cables to a fine tea. Noticing that the graphics card was too heavy and that the shop didn't have a GPU support stand, the guy who worked on my PC cared to install a temporary DIY stand with cardboard for transportation security. Very impressed.

I was gonna give this store 5 stars but their website is ????. No optimization for smart phone, order eta is not specific, and it doesn't have specific "in stock" tag for the specific preffered store in each product thumbnail. Having to click in the product to see that is kinda inconvenient imo.

Awesome computer store. Positive points: - A wide range of available parts, A way better than bestbuy.(I am no longer going to buy anything from best buy after my last terrible experience with geek squad). - Most of the agents have good technical skills. They helped me every time I go for shopping. - Nice customer support. - I have been waiting for a serious hardware computer store for so long now. At last we have it now in downtown. - You can use flexiti financial to buy products that cost above 500$ before taxes, with 6 months payement schedule with 0% interest. - Price matching Negative points: - Don't sell custom liquid solution, cpu/gpu water block, reservoir, hybrid gpu, water cooled gpu. - Some of the agents are just sales men/lady. They lack the technical knowledge that you expect. Make sure to talk to someone who has serious technical knowledge. - Some items need to be brought from other nearby stores, stock shortage. Agents: - Mr. leo is an agent with great customer service support skills. - Mr. Paul exceeds in both technical and customer support skills. But generally, this is by far the best computer hardware store in downtown. I love it. I am lucky to live nearby ????

They are very strict with their no-returns policy but then will happily sell you parts they use for servicing themselves. Or at least it seems so, as they keep them in stock, presenting false information on the site, and send you back home when you want to buy them. Avoid.

Horrendous company, service, system & staff. Ordered a laptop which was in stock at a different location (Kingston). I was told it would take 1 week to receive it in the MTL location and that no payment was needed to reserve it (despite me offering to pay the full amount right away). No signs of life after 2 weeks, no updates (despite the manager telling me himself he would update me). Turns out the order was never placed to bring the computer to MTL and that the remaining stock got sold in the meantime. 2 weeks later, the laptop restocks in Brossard. (no one warned me as they said they would, I had to scout the website daily until it restocked somewhere). When I saw it was available, I called the manager, who sent me to the Brossard location (35min drive from where I live), guaranteeing me that they will be able to sell it to me and to honour the pricing. After more than 5 visits to the stores, well over 10 calls with customer support/managers/employees from both stores, it turns out that neither Downtown or Brossard can honour their deal, and neither provide any support or solution to the issue, essentially forcing me to pay a 300+tx over the price it was at when I tried purchasing it initially. Their only solution is to 'email the mother store and see if they can do anything, but probably not'. Employees kept getting distracted and leaving me hanging for 5-15mins in store while they did other random things or to chat with other employees (all while 7-10 employees were simply roaming around the store or hanging on their phones...). Sh*t store, Sh*t service, Sh*t system. Head to Newegg or literally anywhere else instead.

Mosa Altalibi

Some of the worst customer service ever over here. I got told I couldn't return a defective item because it would be expensive for them to take it back. Just listen to the other reviews, supervisors go on fits and power trips instead of helping you solve the problem they created. I'm genuinely surprised how a place like this stays in business. Probably just out of desperation. Avoid at all costs unfortunately.

John Stiven Calacsan

One of the best Electronic shop here in montreal, Pros: * Much more cheaper than bestbuy * More choices of Computer parts * Best place to go if you are a PC gamer * They have a membership card that you can earn points and redeem it with other gadgets * The staff are knowledgeable of the items in the store Cons: * They don't have instalment plan for expensive laptops or computers

I got an SSD from them and paid for the service fee to have it installed. Got home and there was no SSD on my PC. Went back to the store, only to be told “it might not be compatible with your motherboard”. No reparations or refunds for making me go home, plug everything back in, and then come back to the store with my PC, and repeat. They don’t care about the customers, they just want to sell whatever they can. I even tried calling them 13 times before coming back to store. Not a single call was picked up.

Update: I was there yesterday to buy computer components. I am updating my previous five-star review as Canada Computers didn't respond to my e-mail. I went there at around 3:45pm, and I left at 6:30pm. My experience at first was pretty good, but turned bad pretty quickly. They had some GPUs in stock and the prices were decent. Once I picked up all the components, problems started. First of all, once they "put in the order", they told me that I needed to wait 10 minutes for their system to approve it. 10 minutes quickly became an hour, as apparently they made a mistake when they finalized the "order." I didn't say anything. Anyways, at around 5:20pm, they told me I could pay. I had to pay with two cards as my spending limit wouldn't be enough for all the components. I've done this before at Canada Computers so I didn't think it would be a problem. I paid with the first card just fine, but then the employee made a mistake and finalized the payment process without me paying for the rest. Another hour passed by, and they fixed this too. Again, I didn't complain in store because I just wanted to get the components and leave. I paid for the rest, but the employee made another mistake and apparently used another employee ID to charge me for the rest, so the system kept giving them an error. It was around 6pm when this happened. 15-20 minutes later, the employee just told me I could take my stuff and that they would send me the invoice later. I've been waiting for more than two hours at this point, and I didn't want to stay any longer so I just left. And I didn't want to complain in store as it seemed like there was nothing they could/would do. I kept saying "the employee" but there were multiple employees that helped me. I don't know any of their names, but the person with a beard (Max) as well as the person that "recently moved from Ottawa" have been really helpful and apologetic. Even they were shocked that I had been in the store for that long. However, it was frustrating that no one could help me and that I was stuck at the store for more than two hours, and I had already paid after the first hour. I needed to go to dinner later that night that I had to cancel because I didn't think it would take this long to buy computer components. It was also very frustrating that there wasn't a supervisor on site that could fix these issues faster, because it seemed like there was one "honest mistake" after another. And I genuinely believe they were honest mistakes, but they were done at every single step of the process which resulted in a horrible, frustrating experience. There is clearly a lack of training as well as compassion with some of the employees. As someone who upgrades computer components quite often, I don't think I could go through such an experience again. I can't recommend Canada Computers to anyone either. Went there for the first time about a month ago to build a computer. The rep went above and beyond, and he knew exactly what he was doing when he was building the PC. Their store design is weird though, with lockers at the entrance to put your backpack in. Being a rather small retailer, I think they need to be more cautious about theft. Their motto is Proudly Canadian, and it clearly shows when you shop there! Happy to know that there is an actual store I can go instead of ordering from Amazon.

Only accept sealed product. I was sold a hard drive as new. Yet, the bag had been opened. According to the S.M.A.R.T. data, the device had been used for a few hundred hours. (Isolated case - happened only once). Good prices, at present, better inventory than MicroBytes Downtown.

Stanley Wang

Fraudulent yet untrustworthy on BlackFriday propaganda. Was eyeing on few ssd deals which are fairly good deal price hence queue up on Friday morning since 6am. Frozen and tired, until few minutes before 8 am door open all the items are priced back to normal price. Store staff apparently knowing it ahead of time and claimed as 'price error', refused to provide any deals. Tired and extremely disappointed.

Robin Moon

The clerk at the desk was surprisingly unhelpful, rude and socially awkward. It felt like I was talking to a 14 year with attitude angry at their parents and I was the parent. It was almost as though he was used to talking to people this way. The manager Ryan C. wasn't able to answer basic computer questions and literally said just check the website, Covid makes it hard to answer questions with masks on. Disappointing experience.

Mist R

They try to sell their warranties really hard. Other than that, it's a great store. Has a great variety of products, haven't bought any damaged goods from any of their branches. Employees are meh alright.

Carol B

Currently not impressed. Ordered 7 days ago and paid extra for Express Post. Tracking information says shipping label was created 3 days ago but item has not been tendered to shipper. I called yesterday and was on hold for 35 minutes then I hung up cause I had other matters to attend. I better get the product ASAP This will be the last time I order here! UPDATE March 30 2020 I received confirmation last night that my package was out for delivery. Package received this morning. Changed my 2 stars to 4 stars... Took 6 business days to get my package. Poor follow ups on their part which causes stress for no reason... Especially in times like these.

Rebecca Dunn

They helped me out to get a product that I ordered for pickup last minute. I hadn't received the pickup code yet, so they used my order number to find the item for me so I wouldn't have to come back. Always got good service here too before the whole pandemic.

Emma Coutu

To preface this I've spent thousands if not tens of thousand dollars at the store in the past 3 years. I went in today looking for a power cable for a desktop. The employees were very rude and dismissive - apparently you cannot buy power cables separately, they only come with power supplies! They don't sell computer power cables at Canada Computers apparently! When I asked where the power cables were, I was treated like an idiot. I've been building custom PCS for 20 years now. avoid the store like the plague. Unless you have to use Amazon.

I don’t even know where to begin. First, DO NOT go here for holiday tech gifts or pc. Because once they have your money, THEY WILL NOT CARE after. Customer service is non existant. I brought in my PC TWICE, 2 weeks with them of no updates, no one answers the phone. The technician tried to help and was suppose to call me, but again, no one called me. I even sent my number TWICE. 2 weeks of headache with them. It only took me 30 minutes with a family member in computers to find out the problem. I was told it’s the motherboard but turns out it’s the RAM. So they led me to believe I might need to buy a new motherboard!!!!! I sent an email of disappointed and no reply, so I’m currently being IGNORED. Customer service will IGNORE you.

Jamil Lahham

I brought in my computer, and by mere description of the problem they were able to actually diagnose the issue. Carlos (the associate who helped me) explained the possible issues and gave me a brief run through their process as well as an approximate time of getting back with me. And just like clockwork they contacted me 2 days later to confirm their initial diagnosis and inform me that the PC was ready for pick up. While this was my first time using Canada Computers services I highly recommend it.

Canada Computers online shop definitely has a lot of stuff available and at a great price in general. That store though… the staff doesn’t care, is not welcoming, and I never felt good going there… I’ve been to many computer stores in my life, and usually the staff shows a minimum passion and has some motivation at least. Anyway I’ll keep ordering online but I’ll avoid this store for as long as I can.

Montreal these guys are the best in town! I said to the technician "I dont have much cash I am actually broke please fix my computer but dont charge me too much" He told me "I will call you in 48 hours" The next day he called me, he fixed the problem and did not added extra charges apart from the diagnostic fees. These dudes really know their stuff, trust them with your computer. Thank you guys:)))

Kaolin Stacey

Came with a damaged CPU with bent pins. The employees were kind enough to take the time out of their day, whilst expecting nothing in return, to help fix it. I came to this store since it is where I bought it and asked what could be done. They managed to bend it back and I finally put it in the motherboard and it actually works! Shout out to Maxime who helped me! You really made me cry today, happy tears. Seeing my computer turn on completely just gave me more hope to my computer building future!

I spent hundreds of dollars on computer parts here including an m2 drive. When I went to mount the drive, I found that my motherboard didn't come with a mounting screw. So I went back to the store to buy a screw and even though they had hundreds of them in their repair shop, they refused to sell me one. The manager seemed personally offended that a customer would have the audacity to ask for a mounting screw for the expensive computer hardware they just bought. I would have returned everything on the spot, but they are using COVID as an excuse to refuse returns of all opened merchandise. Terrible customer service. The computer parts market is highly competitive, and there are many other companies to buy from. CC just lost a customer for life over a $0.30mounting screw.

Amir Shiek

They are friendly, listens to you and do what they are supposed to do; they installed everything for me for like $50 or so; my motherboard that I got from them did not work and they changed it after a month or so cause they had to send it back or something; overall a good store with knowledgeable, friendly employees

David Harris

This place has everything you need. They are kind, helpful, and very well informed. They assisted me in my PC repair, and gave me great deals as well. Special shout out to Michael the technician, who did the repairs and transfer to a new case. I highly recommend going here for your computer needs.

M X

Pretty dissapointing. No answer to emails, they dont pickup the phone, and you can't buy online despite in store pickup being marked as available. Called about 10 times over 3 days l no one ever answered. The only time I ever went there in person in the past, they were pretty bad on the customer servive side of things.

a c

TERRIBLE customer service. i placed an order for 3 items, two were in stock at the store blocks from my house, while the third was in stock at another location a 20 minute drive away. 3 weeks go by and my order hasn't even shipped. i check the stock and the 1 item that was in stock 20 minutes away has been sold but it has come into stock both on their online store and another location also around 20 minutes away. it took me a week to get ahold of anyone at any of the stores or their customer service line, and they told me that i should just cancel the item and set it for store pickup. i don't have a car, so i can't do that. they said it's impossible to ship from their store, only from their warehouse. so i canceled my entire order and placed it on newegg and got it a few days later.

Omar K

Terrible returns policy. Go to amazon or newegg instead. Clearly they have a monopoly on in person computer hardware sales and have no incentive to improve. Would expect the quality to only degrade over time. Not a business i would want to support long term. Shame.

Mikaël Girard

Wont pickup the phone, wont answer email. Sell parts not in stock , online and when they receive it they force sell PreBuild so much that yours get delayed. Very shady. I will upgrade my review if thing get sorted out but so far, unpleasant bizz.

Anjum Hassen

Incredible customer service ! I was served by Maxime and Qiren , excellent product knowledge and pleasant shopping experience

Jay Xavier

The prices on products are better than elsewhere in the neighbourhood, but the staff is slow, unresponsive and not very helpful. You really have to go out of your way to grab their attention, because they're too busy chit-chatting and joking: at that rate, it'd better to fire them (place is way overstaffed) and replace them with robots... Tech services are to be desired. I brought in a computer with some water damage and was told that it couldn't be fixed, but they would still look at it for 50$ (!). If it can't be fixed, why try to bill me for an inspection... then, I brought it elsewhere, where it was fixed within a week, and the estimate/initial inspection was cost-free... In short: go there if you know exactly what you want, but in all other regards, this place (and the staff) are useless.

Sebastien Ponton

The service there is always great. I don't even double check prices before going there because I know that I'll either get the cheapest price on the market or if not, their super knowledgeable stuff will make up for the price difference. I never had a problem while shopping there, only raving experiences!!

Alex Lane

They literally never answer the phone. Considering there were a decent number of employees in there the one time I went in to pick up an order-- I find it quite shocking that no matter the time of day I never can actually talk to someone. Bought a new GPU and wasn't given the included bonus (Geforce Now membership), their head office also doesn't answer the phone or respond to emails. I really only recommend shopping here if you already know what you want and don't foresee needing any support or customer service. They also (like pretty much every company) will try to sell you their warranty too, fairly insistently.

Douglas Cheung

Ok store, pretty much the only computer shop left in downtown area that has a large variety of things in stock (best buy don't have that many pc components these days, futureshop used to have more stuff, and microbyte was extremely disorganized before they finally closed up shop), price generally comparable to Amazon but you get it right the way and can physically check out the products before buying

Lei Wu

What kind of backward running store is this? Can I give it negative star? -With all the online shopping & platform, they only allow in-store pickup... FINE I'll bite at least I can still go to the store... right? -"Our store is closed for cleaning, we only allow online order" -> ok... I'll place an order online and then grab my item and go? -"we have approximately over a hundred orders in backlog, it might take around 5 days if not a week for it to be cleared"... So to summarize: -this is a store in 2021 with covid running amuck that doesn't offer shipping for any price -doesn't move stock between different locations so if your current location is out of stock, you have to drive across town if not across the country to Nova Scotia to buy something -doesn't perform enough regular cleaning so it relies on shutting down the store for over a week for deep clean -Cleans store ONLY during business hour -Take longer time to process online order than any other store cause of backlog and lack of attention to fulfill them in timely manner (Seriously it takes 5 days to clear a backlog of 100 orders, you guys only sells 20 order a day or something?) -tells everyone visiting to submit order online to compound onto your backlog problem -AND doesn't guarantee you will actually get the item after the wait cause they have no idea what's in the order so if you're buying something where their system shows only 2 in stock and those 2 are sold within the backlog, well you are SOL

caryde G2

As a new customer, I really enjoyed the one-on-one customer service. You can tell each and everyone of the staff is very knowledgeable in what they do. I was also very thrilled by their wide selection of inventory. I like the idea that I can just go there and find pretty much anything I need without the shipping fees and the waiting of online shopping. In my case, I needed an HDD enclosure, my failing gaming laptop's HD upgraded and replaced and a new laptop bag. Also, I really liked how willing they were at finding a solution that best suited my needs for each visit. I could tell they genuinely wanted to help me out, no matter what. I did get some issues trying to contact them through the phone, but I've noticed that recently, many businesses have avoided answering calls altogether, maybe as a way to best manage the situation in store (with the current pandemic). Other than that, the prices are fair, they offer tons of discounts that leave you speechless at the cash and the time it took for them to actually have my laptop ready was 5 hours... So 5 stars to you guys! (girls included hehe).

Dimitar Dochev

Absolute SCAMMERS! Avoid at all cost!!! About an year ago bought an Acer laptop from them (what a mistake from my side) and 3 years of warranty with it. 3 months ago the laptop broke, the back of the screen and the frame in front just parted from each other, obviously the hinges inside broke (I have never dropped or hit the laptop in any way). I tried to call them, sent emails - no one bothered to reply, the customer service is non-existent. When I finally went to the store they refused to acknowledge the warranty and asked me for money. After the conversation that fallowed, they agreed to accept the warranty and said the parts and repair will be for free. That was more than 2 months ago. Last week I went there for a consecutive time to see they haven't touched it at ALL. There were lies that they had sent it to their central office, but the fact is no one bothered to do anything for 2 months. Finally after 2 months and two weeks they called today to go and take the repaired laptop. When I went to the shop in order to give the computer they "twisted" my hand and said I will receive it only if I pay 200$. Since I am a student and I need the computer for my lessons (everything is online these days) I've paid. Needless to say I'll never ever buy anything from them again! And you better do the same! Dishonest and unreliable!!!

Jonathan Boilard

Good shop, but pressure of buying in-store insurance ruined the experience. The person who sold me my headset heavily suggested I buy an extra 20$ in-store insurance so I could return it, implying that the removable microphone was often missing, or the headset often not working out of the box... Without the insurance, I couldn't do any returns he said. "All sells are final! Are you sure you don't want the insurance?" After annoyingly turning him down 4 times in a row, he finally let me buy the product. Well turns out their actual policy is printed on the receipt, which is that defective products can be exchanged within 15 days... How convenient of you not telling this to your customers... I don't know if this is common practice, but please beware!

Van

I made a pick up order an hour before opening to reserve the last remaining item and thought i would came here during my diner time, but by noon the order wasn't process yet. So disappointing, i thought it would be done in about a hour since this is a simple task for a store, in the end i order the item at amazon.

Kyle Jones

Overall great selection at this location. But man, this "no refund" policy on items is complete BS! I purchased gaming headphones from them, realized they weren't the quality that I wanted, so i returned to the store the following day to try and exchange them for a higher quality pair, as well as purchase some other things. I was told this wasn't possible (In the rudest conversation btw) so I asked if I could speak to someone else. I ended up speaking to the manager, who basically gave me a bunch of the "sorry bud, can't do anything" nonsense. Overall the employees/manager were super rude, and patronizing. Now, I've spent thousands of dollars at this store on computers and miscellaneous, but after this experience (as well as some others) I definitely won't be returning here. Get your policies together, and start treating costumers with respect.. 2 stars.

D. D.

Don't trust them. Even if you have ordered a part and you have a confirmation. They simply cancel your order and let you dry. Don't do business there, when you call in store, they simply won't help you...you little nodody who are not worth the air you breathe...your money is good anywhere, so go spend it in a store who respects custumers.

alex desjardins

I am giving this store a 2 star for the flowing reasons positives: their prices are good for most parts they have a large stock of parts from any price range the quality of the goods they sell is great negatives: the customer service quality at this store is weak out of 4 times i have been to the store 3 went bad. i went to buy an Intel processor and for most gamer's who buy computer parts at a computer store HAVE DONE THEIR RESEARCH and are only there to buy it WE DO NOT NEED YOUR OPINION ON THE PRODUCT let us buy what is trash for your eyes and gold for ours in peace. just be a nice customer service agent and sell it to us with NO JUDGMENTS !!!! UNLESS we ask for your opinion on a product which is completely fine. don't bother us its mean and destroys our experience of building a PC which costs a lot of money LET US BUY WHAT WE WANT TO BUY!!!!

xiaojing gao

DT CC It is high quality. I accidentally spilled water on my mac book, and they repaired it in a day and a half, before I thought I would buy a new one. Now I will continue to use it, nice job DT CC
