I went to Simply Computing for a warranty claim under AppleCare. While there I dealt with the store manager, Stefan, who told me that I would be better to make the claim at the Apple Store in Surrey. While playing with my power adapter he snapped off one of the folding tabs then denied having done so until I pushed the point. He ultimately agreed to fix the adapter but ended up gouging the outside with a screwdriver whilst attempting the repair. Three hours later and a visit to the Apple Store I had my adapter replaced under warranty while enjoying excellent service, no thanks to Stefan and Simply Computing. My advice, drive the 15 minutes and goto the mothership--you'll be glad you did.

Called to ask how much it would be to get my information put on a hard drive. Was told it was $99. They never once said it was $99 for the hard drive and $99 for them to put it on the hard drive for a total of $200. Will never go back. They were rude when I told them I was never told that and basically just said well take it or leave it.

Took the computer in on Tuesday mid day and it was upgraded and done by Tuesday afternoon. Our computer is like new again and works so much faster now! Instead of buying a brand new 27 inch Mac from the Apple Store, where I went first, I saved a ton of money by just getting a new hard drive installed in my 2011 computer by Simply Computing. I'm writing this review from a laptop I repaired myself after being quoted an outrageous sum from Simply Computing. I went in having a good idea what the issue was with my Macbook (Hard drive cable failure) and I asked the front desk how much they thought something like this would be to repair. They said that this was a common issue, and it would be a cheap fix; something like $50 (100 in total, after the initial $50 deposit). A bit pricy, but I was willing to give them the money for convenience sake. Anyway, they call me the next day, tell me it is indeed the hard drive cable, and that it's going to cost another $179 for the repairs. Unbelievable. I watched a youtube tutorial, ordered a $20 part on Amazon, and spent 20 minutes repairing it myself. And it's worth noting that I have never worked on a computer in my life. It feels like they tried to take advantage of me in a very greedy way and I felt it was irresponsible to stay silent. In my case, they were basically charging rates of $400 per hour. Do not spend your money here.

Simply Computing? Simply a waste of time! Made an appointment through the Apple support website for an out of warranty battery replacement to have my phone's battery serviced right there in store. From the second I got there, I witnessed this rep give a previous customer great service, so I was glad I was there. It quickly turned sour. Within a minute, the impression I was left with was that they just didn't want to do it, even though I was fully acknowledging that I was paying for it. Everything from "it could take up to 10 days for Apple Audit" to "You should have made an appointment" which I repeatedly said that I made the appointment for this service to be done. I can accept that an Apple Audit might happen, and like I said in store, if it happens it happens, let's proceed. Hey, I can even accept that they lost the appointment, it happens, I would have happily rescheduled. He started telling me that I didn't need a new battery, that the battery that was in there was working just fine. I told him it wasn't in my opinion (my phone hadn't been used out of the norm this morning, and 1 hour into my work day, I was down to the mid 60%) and I'd still like to replace the battery based on my experience with another iPhone with worse battery percentages than were being reported but the performance was much better (a previous year iPhone with a percentage way worse than what was being reported on my current phone). Given that I'm spending about 4 hours a day roughly on average talking (not texting, TALKING on it, though I do that too) on it for work, I need a strong battery during COVID so I can continue working remotely where I don't always have access to have it sit on a charger all day. Based on the old phone (only 1 year older) working better under the exact same conditions needing to be charged less, I figured this battery just needed to be replaced. The worst part of my experience, in my opinion, was when he started rattling off the list of apps quite loudly so the other customers could hear. There's better ways of showing me whats draining my battery, while still respecting my privacy, such as "here you can see which apps are draining your battery" versus reading them aloud one by one so every other customer in the store could hear. Totally unprofessional. Finally, I said, look, my employer is paying for the replacement, lets just do it. He replied with "Apple won't let us repair it if it's not under 80%". I don't understand why that statement would be true for any out of warranty repair. Since it's out of warranty, and I'm paying full price for it, shouldn't I get to be the decision maker? Besides, based on what he was telling me, he said my phone had only twice gone over 100% usage, however, every night this week it's been charged when I'm home and not working (or travelling in my truck), and I've still been on low battery mode when I go to bed and charge it for the night. Is it not possible that the battery meter might be off? And even if that was the case, why wasn't that the first thing he mentioned? He never said anything about this until I pressed him to just do the repair that I would gladly pay for, which they refused to do, so I left. Fortunately for me there's another Apple authorized repair partner in the mall where "Simply Computing" is. They are doing the repair for me right now as I'm writing this, for the same price, using the same parts that "Simply Computing" would use, and the tools (and parts) are provided to them by Apple. I recommend people shop elsewhere for their needs. Have been to "Simply Computing" before and my experience that time wasn't any better on a MacBook repair that I was forced to overpay for, and won't be returning. There are other, better options for consumers than a business that quite frankly doesn't want my business.

I would highly recommend using someone else for your services. This store should not be an authorized dealer or repair place for Apple. We called in about getting our iPhone battery replaced on warranty. They walked us through the steps which included them having to test the phone and inspect it to ensure it was ok (other than the battery) before taking it for the repair. I went in the next day and they performed a series of tests that took 20-30 min, they closely inspected in after I took the case off, they brought it to the repair person in the back once the tests were done to ensure it could be fixed and again there was nothing wrong with it. They determined it worked great except for the battery and told me it would be repaired that day or the next. The next day Eric called to tell me they could not replace the battery until they sent it off for a $250 repair because it failed some sort of audio/receiver test. I asked them to clarify as the phone had passed all tests the day before and my phone was otherwise fine. They insisted they have to do "other tests" and it failed and that was that. I told them what we were told originally and asked why I wasn't told the replacement might not happen if it didn't past more tests. They told me this was just how it was very bluntly and with very little concern for the miscommunication that seemed to have happened. I became more concerned as they just kept repeating that it needed the repair as the phone was clearly ok in that way when I left it there and now there was a $250 repair. I voiced that something didn't seem right and they just shrugged me off by repeating that it didn't pass the additional standard tests. He then asked what more I could want and I stated my phone back and at least an acknowledgment that they did not clearly state more tests would be done and had told me that it was good and my battery would be replaced. They would do no such thing. My partner called after and said the manager Stefan was better to deal with but still no resolution. We called Apple directly and explained the situation as we no longer trusted this dealer. Something didn't seem right They had us bring the phone into their store the same night. There was nothing other than the battery wrong with the phone and after looking into things they actually gave us a new phone as an apology for what we encountered with this store. I feel suspect that this store created a false repair and that worries me for other customers which is why I am writing this review. I hope others will see it.

I had an abysmal experience with this store. Had an issue with my MacBook Air (which wouldn't turn on). I took it in, and the technician said that I needed to replace a part that would cost me nearly $300. I couldn't afford that, and after reading reviews that this place over charges customers, I retrieved my computer and brought it to an Apple store (the one in Guildford Mall). The Apple technician at the mall took 15 minutes to look at my computer, realized that the part wasn't damaged at all, but the wires were a little corroded. He cleaned them off, fixed it up, and gave it back, free of charge. Simply Computing clearly likes to charge people for parts and repairs that they don't need. I feel cheated and furious that this place was going to clean me out of $ for absolutely no reason. Shame on them. I wouldn't recommend this store for your Apple needs. Go right to an Apple store, even though the wait might be longer. Save yourself some grief! I'm never going back.

I had some upgrades for my MacBooks (a 17" & two 13"s) here. They did wonderful job for all of my laptops with a reasonable price. One has a logic too old to fix, but I insisted to get it fixed. They recommended me not to waste money on my (2010 17") MacBook which has a sentimental value to me: so much memories with it. They were right. After one fix, there were other problems with my beloved machine. I got a new laptop eventually. Should they have not stopped me, I could have been still pouring my money on that machine. The staffs are competent, knowledgeable, and polite. I recommend this place.

Sales associate Nick sold me a brand new macbook air and transferred all of my old data for me. This was a few hours before closing he said it should be ready in an hour-hour and a half. 30 minutes before closing he said there was still at least 30 minutes left on the transfer and he suggested I come back the next day to pick it up. This was surprising to me since he said it would be done that day with no warning it might take longer. I let him know this was not an ok solution as I couldn't get back to the store the following day. Nick offered to stay after closing without overtime to wait for the transfer to be completed. I REALLY appreciate what he did. I give Nick 5 stars for this. Simply as a business I give 2 stars. A message for management, please ensure that your associates inform the customers that transfers vary in timing and the associates need to be provided with other solutions for the customers rather than just saying 'come back tomorrow'. I was on the market for a new iMac, I was waiting for the new iMac Pro. I was going to buy it, but when I talked to them realized in my case would be a waste of money, overkill of my needs. So instead forking out almost 10 grand, I bought one for 45 hundred and they traded my old one too. They were honest enough to stop me. Even though probably make more money selling more expensive product, so I thank them very much. Ordered, delivered on time as they said, one of the easiest purchase I ever had.

Ed was an INCREDIBLE help at Simply Computing in Langley!! Yesterday I came into the store stressed because of malware on my Mac, and HE WAS A WIZ at targeting the root of the issue. Not only did he fix the problem that was causing me anxiety with my search engine, but he also enlightened me on tips for preventing the risk of getting any more malware on my Mac. I had a very positive experience at this store - driving all the way from New West - and particularly due to Jacob. I bought a used MacBook Pro and had some initial problems with the life of battery. Jacob tested it out, it came to a reasonable level, but it's what I call GOOD SERVICE as they could have simply said 'no, things are fine,' but instead installed a new one - and although it may have cost them a few dollars to do - gained a lifelong customer. That's the way to run a business as I'll be back. And an update a few months later - even though warranty expired, Stefan, manager helped me out immensely, kind of him and makes you want to return because of service beyond the norm.

GO to Simply, it's better than any apple store for knowledgable staff and Steff the manager is better than any you'll find at any apple store. I wouldn't go anywhere else (including apple stores) unless I had to. In fact Simply was in business before APPLE STORES existed. I have known Stef the manager of the Langley Simply since before my first dec 1999 macG4 bought at Simply. The G4 still runs but retired for a newer 2011 Imac 21" that Simply has updated well and it still runs well. We also have 2 macpro's in the house too.. All machines serviced at Simply and running...Recently I had a motherboard and battery on a 2012 macpro 15" replaced at Simply Langley. Work is always well done and quick. APPLE STORES were a spoke in the works for Simply when they opened but Simply still thrives, mostly because of the very knowledgeable staff that are way better than any at the APPLE stores. Support your local businesses, because they are better, cheaper and faster than any APPLE store. If you have a problem with your mac take it to simply, they're the best...

I cannot image being fully in Apple ecosystem without Simply. Most box & office supply stores don’t know enough to help with issues. After 30 years of Apple, I still need some form of help or after market warranty such as Simply Care. Stefan is fantastic. being 30+ years with them. His staff are all well trained. And Steve Uppal STILL supports network/server/security and cloud requirements. NO ONE else spans this long a record of device/support which, for the most part is EXCELLENT. and They stock product. NEW and 2nd owner Mac’s. They have stores in most cities in Western Canada and I am glad to be able to go to get support & warranty in Langley, Vancouver & Calgary.

I use to really like this company until one day I took my MacBook Pro in because it was shutting down randomly and after a quick inspection they found that the battery had failed. They told me that I would have to leave it with them for at least 3 business days (this is my business computer!) because Apple required them to 1st confirm the battery had failed and only then would SC be allowed to order a new battery and it would take that amount of time to get one delivered. I called the company I bought the computer from, they ordered the battery, I took it in when it arrived at their shop (on my schedule) and they fixed it in 2 hours... They'd never heard of any such rule from Apple. I won't be supporting Simply Computing anymore after being lied to.

Came in the other day with my iPhone 11 Pro not connecting to a network. Later found out that I needed a replacement device. The customer service Ed provided was like no other. I have told 10+ people to go to this location after what an awesome job he did. Not only did he sit there with me for a good few hours trying every possible trick in the book, but I got to have a great chat with him too. It's every university student's worst nightmare: you're about to finish the last bits on the project due tomorrow at midnight you've been working on for the past 3 weeks and all of a sudden you see a black screen. I spent hours trying to fix my laptop on my own and nothing at all would work. I rushed in at 9:29 am to see if these guys could help me, and within 15 minutes they somehow brought my laptop back to life. They fully explained every possible thing that could go wrong. When I inquired about possible pricing, they gave me the good, the bad, and the ugly possible outcomes. They were polite, understanding, and explanatory. I was the typical customer of "I need this thing up and running as of yesterday" type of customer, and they tried as hard as they could to find the best, and fastest way to fix my computer. I lucked out with it being fixed within a few minutes, but no matter what, I'm forever going to these guys first. Thank you for saving my Macbook, my GPA and my sanity haha!

This review is a little late, but I had a repair done by them late last year. My main issue with them is that they never disclosed the fact that for them to look at your device, it costs $50. They only discussed fees after I had given them my macbook and was long gone. The reason why I have issues with this is because when we were talking, it seemed like they were going to just take a quick look at it and see if they can do it, similar to how london drugs does it. However, unlike london drugs, they actually charge a fee for this, which I was unaware of. If I was told there was a fee for them to just look at my device, I would not have given them it. The only reason why I continued with the repair is because it would've been a waste of $50 to pay them to get my macbook back when it could go towards the repair. Aside from that, the guys I was talking to were nice and the actual repair was good, but for $400 to replace a top cover and battery I would assume it should be. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not recommend them and suggest that London Drugs is the better option since they are also an AASP and have always done well for me. I believe in regards to apple products, they also do not charge the extra tech fees simply computing does; I was quoted 350-378 for the same repair if I remember correctly. TLDR: Repair was good, people were nice, but I was not told of their "diagnostic fee of $50" until after I left my macbook in their possession and they had done the work so I would be charged. Prices are also a bit higher than other AASPs/Third-Party Repair shops.

Went to go upgrade my computer hard drive and just see the overall health of my macbook from 2012. Before going in, I called the store to save time and just chat with anyone there. They took the time to talk with me over the phone (i know a lot of businesses that just ignore the phone or try to get you off) but these guys answered all my questions and took the time to help me with my needs. I came into the store and the staff there was super helpful. Along with myself, they were also serving other customers. Left feeling like i got taken care and i just appreciated there honesty when it comes to this industry. If youre seriously looking for help or info about your computer without the bells and whistles i would definitely recommend these guys in Langley.

Honestly, super impressed. I messed up my keyboard trying to clean it, and ended up damaging a key. I called an alternate place, and they said they'd need to replace the whole keyboard for close to $200. I took it to simply computing, and they (free of charge) fixed my damaged key as best as they could to make it functional. They said they would likely need to order a new keyboard (only $100 from them) to fully fix the problem if I wan't okay with the quick fix. I decided to move ahead with the repair. In the end, they ended up finding a spare part laying around, and fixing just the one key, and charging me (get this- $26.00) From $200+ at a competitor to $26. These guys are professionals, and I'll definitely be using them for any future repair needs, and to purchase my next macbook from.

Life Savers! I dropped off my 2016 Macbook pro (touch bar) with them as I noticed dead pixels on my screen. I was willing to fork-out the money to replace the screen (if needed). Got a call in the afternoon same day, and was told after running diagnostics that it was a software issue. It was a 3rd party weather application that was causing the red pixels on the bottom of my screen and there was no display issues at all! That saved me having to spend $1000 by running a simple diagnostic test ($54)!! Any other store would have just proceeded to replace the screen without being honest that it was no display issue! Thank you Simply Computing for your 100% honesty!!! You guys are awesome!

Terrible experience. Needed my phone repaired and wasn’t able to get an appt. at the Apple store so drove all the way into Langley only to deal with a repair technician who made it very clear he wasn’t interested in dealing with a phone repair. He offered no assistance whatsoever only reasons for me not to leave my phone with him to be repaired. This store should not be an approved Apple Repair store. If you need assistance with your Apple product do not go to this store , you’ll be wasting your time and gas to get there.

Can't give -stars sadly. Cannot say clear enough DO NOT shop here. They are so clueless and only thing worse is spending $900 for a paper weight. Sold me a faulty Ipad, two months ago. Charging dock is shot and could have thought of better ways to decorate with that money. They have no concept of legal requirements for electronics. Giving up fighting them & throwing more money away to file a civil claim to ask a judge to make them do their job. I don't have too much time on my hands so could not be more annoyed that is my option. Get out of the business if you don't want to deal with anything! Anyone else- just run! Update- took Ipad (they refused to acknowledge wasn't working)directly to Apple. Apple took only a couple of minutes to say the battery is shot and absolutely faulty. They apologized and are replacing Ipad, they say is defective. Was also told by Apple when using computer stores that are obviously inexperienced, they are welcome to call an Apple tech for help! SMH

I appreciate the fact they tested and confirmed the items i was purchasing did in fact work in conjunction with one another, making my purchase an easy decision. My 2013 Macbook Pro Retina was suffering from the staingate issue where the anti glare coating starts to come off. The staff at simply computing were very friendly and replaced my screen with a new one! Very happy with the service.

Excellent staff and service, step by step phone calls so there was no surprises. I unfortunately bought a faulty 15 inch mac book pro from Craig’s list with all the upgrades. the guy who sold it to me failed to mention that he spilled some kind of liquid on the logistics board. I didn’t figure it out till after the computer was open and on for 4 hours making the 3 beep noise. they tried to clean it to no effect. so they didn’t charge me for the cleaning. the put in a logistics board and fixed all the other things at no extra charge. I will be going to them again. so anyone who has a bad review must have just had a bad day that day and nothing could ,make them happy BECAUSE I BOUGHT A 1500 MAC BOOK ON CRAIGS LIST AND HAD TO SPEND ANOTHER 800 TO GET IT TO WORK. The good thing is I have a new ;laptop and the service was great. aaron z

I brought in my 5 year old MacBook Air for water damage and they said that it was unfixable, and asked me if I wanted to buy a new one or have them recycle my computer. I took it apart myself and it seemed to be fine, turned it on two weeks later and it works fine. The only issue is that the keys are a tad sticky from a spill accident 2 years ago. I'm not sure why they said it couldn't be fixed.

My MacBook Pro screen failed, and the Apple telephone support rep directed me to Simply Computing (an Apple authorized service provider). My experience was very positive from drop-off, to communication while being repaired, and finally to pick-up. The slow-down was on Apple's part shipping the replacement parts to Simply to install (so that is not on Simply). Overall, great service.

Ed at Simply Computing went above and beyond helping me with a computer program he’d recommended that I was struggling with. I have a Mac from 2009 that is still in nearly perfect working condition thanks to the folks at this store. Rather than having to buy a whole new MacBook Pro, they were able to upgrade my hard drive and breathe new life into my old computer. In addition, they have consistently helped me with program workarounds and just overall tech support. For someone that isn’t very computer savvy, I feel extremely supported by them and will recommend them 100%. Thanks Ed and everyone at Simply Computing!

I don't usually write a lot of reviews, but I had to this time. I cannot say enough about how ecstatic I am with the service I received from both Nick and Eric with my machine. Both were super patient and helpful in both explaining and correcting my issues. And, Nick even carried the 50 pound beast across the parking lot to my van. I cannot recommend them enough and I will be coming back for all my Apple needs.

I highly recommend taking your Apple products to an Apple store to have them repaired instead of taking them to Simply Computing. I took my MacBook air to Simply Computing last week, as they are authorized dealers, to have it assessed after it shut off unexpectedly and would not turn on. Not only did I not hear back about my computer until more than 24 hours after my scheduled appointment, but when I did hear back they told me that my laptop had liquid damage and would not be covered under warranty. They told me they needed to order a new logic board which was going to cost me $650.00, and they also told me I would be charged $50.00 per hour for labour for the repairs. I asked about whether or not my data could be recovered and moved and I was told that would cost me an additional $300.00. I knew I had never spilled anything on or near my computer before, and my entire experience with this store had been less than ideal from the start, and so I picked up my laptop and took it to the Apple store to get a second opinion. The employee at Apple found absolutely no sign of water damage to the computer whatsoever. He said that there was a problem with the logic board and it would need to be replaced but it would all be covered entirely under my warranty. I can only assume that the store was going to charge me for the repairs and then subsequently apply to Apple to have the work reimbursed under my warranty as well. I have never had such a negative customer service experience in my life and I would highly recommend that anyone considering using this store think twice.

I brought my MacBook Air to Simply on Friday morning, unfortunately the conclusion was a major repair which left me with the best option being to fully replace it. Georgina, the technician (didn’t catch his name), and Stefan provided some of the best customer experience I’ve received in a long time. They were empathetic to my situation and were able to transfer all of my data over to my new laptop before end of day on Sunday. Thank you for your excellent communication, honesty, and your sincere ability to go above and beyond. I would highly recommend them to anyone having issues with devices as not only do they do a great job of solving the problem, but they also remember to treat each customer as an individual with feelings no matter how big or small the problem may be.

My iMac reported that the hard drive was failing. Took it to Simply, they confirmed the drive had "bad sectors". Came back the next day to pickup my iMac in perfect working order as if nothing bad had happened. Also, the SSD they put in made my Mac way faster, so added bonus! The fastest repair from the Apple Store was 5 days, after waiting nearly 30 minutes even with an appointment. After that experience I always head to Simply as my first and best option.

When I called to tell Stephen that I messed it up again, he quickly invited me back in to fix the issue that I created. Outstanding customer service by Stephen and his team. Called in to get a quote for a 30min job. No parts; just the labour of loosening and tightening a couple screws. He quotes me $150! Thats like $300/hr! Rediculous. I found another certified tech who did it for $50. What a rip off. Not sure about how they're still in business.
