I went there with weird tire noise and came out with the very same noise with a piece of paper showing a bunch of green numbers no issues with alignment after getting alignment check($106.65) done. I was advised they couldn't tell me how bad it was before adjustment?? was done due to their weird computer system. Well, no advice regarding the very issue. Their staff was nice though.

We were traveling back from NB to Victoria BC when we hit a curb and flattened two tires. We were stranded in the middle of the rain at midnight. We got our car towed here and visited the following morning. They promptly replaced both tires, and were exceedingly professional and friendly while doing so. Ok Tire in Nelson have always been my go to guys for purchasing new tires and for all of my mechanical work. In the 8 years that I have been using them they have always offered me excellent mechanical services at a fair price and they have also gone the extra mile for me plenty of times. They have come out to pick me up when I have been stranded way up the mountains with a flat tire and fixed it free of charge and have lent me the courtesy car many times when my own was failing. brought my truck in , told them it needed a rack and pinion. I got a call back a couple days later saying the rack and pinion was fine , they told me it was my control arms so I gave them the ok to replace them . While they were in there I figured I better get everything that needs to be fixed done as well . today I came to grab my truck with all these new parts on it , expecting to be good to go . They then tell me that my rack and pinion ( which is what I brought it in for originally ) needs to be replaced ! So now all my new parts that were installed will have a much shorter life unless I bring it back to the shop to get the part I told them to install in the beginning. On top of that they were supposed to fix my back breaks , I got my truck back with hardly any breaks at all .they left a note that said “breaks are soft “ They said to bring it back sometime within the next week and they will try and fix it . Horrible service , I would call and ask them how they were doing on my truck and they would tell me they have no idea , and that they will call me when it’s done . If I were you I’d seriously consider going elsewhere to get any work done to your vehicle . 3000 dollars and now I’m back to my original problem . Thanks guys !

I have never been to a shop that has such amazing service. I went in with three little kids all under three and the lady at the front desk was so sweet and accepting to the kids being in the front area. We went in to get our tires changed to winter tires and it turns out there was a bigger issue that needed to be fixed, so the 45 minutes I thought I was going to have to be there turned into a lot longer. instead of me having to sit there with three kids right about nap time the manager offered to drive us home in his personal vehicle. He then personally dropped the vehicle off for me at my house afterwards so that I was able to put the little kids down for a nap and pick the older kids up from school in time. They were also great to deal with on the phone they managed to fit us in last minute to get our tires done, the prices were great and they went above and beyond all expectations. I can't say enough about how wonderful this location is.

I end up calling today, to ask about one of the brand she was recommending and I got Phil and he was just as amazing ordered my tires book to have them on in two days thats amazing. Walked in to get a tire plugged and came out needing $2300 worth of work done to my vehicle. Something didn't sit right with me that all I needed was a tire plugged and they looked at EVERYTHING else. I got a second opinion and only two of the many things ok tire said was wrong with my vehicle, was actually wrong. How is it that a tire shop can confirm an appointment the morning of, after ordering tires a week in advance, lose 1 of 4 tires between the time I called in the AM and my appointment at 4pm, and have nothing to say but “I don’t know what to say”. Is it employee theft? Is it because you run a highly disorganized business? Or is sheer incompetence on a variety of levels? WOW. The tires were in 5 days ago. I called Friday and said I would appreciate a call when they do come in as I don’t think I can wait until next week due to the upcoming weather conditions. Yep, yep we’ll call you. Like a dummy I waited till the appointment, but did have the foresight to call and confirm we were good to go as I was also having them studded. Yep, yep we’re good to go, he says. Arrive, wait 30 minutes to be told we only have 3 tires...Do not buy from Northern OK TIre in North Bay. Great at booking appointments and taking your money, and paying you lip service, not so great at actually providing the tires or any type of customer service. Jamie Kirstein (owner of this gong show of a business)you should take a hard look at how your business is handled, and who you have working for you., I’ll take my $1000 to Guy’s Tire (should have done that from the start), you all should do the same! Edit: November 26, 2018 What's to discuss? I said my piece, you handled it the way you did. No customer service at all. The answer I got from BJ was " well we can book you an appointment for tomorrow, but can't guarantee we will find the tire or have a replacement in time." The time to discuss would have been when i was standing in your shop with only 3 of 4 tires after doing my due diligence, ordering, waiting, confirming, arriving, and having no customer service. I stood in line for 10 minutes while Phil was ordering a tire for someone else, and BJ was walking around like it was the first time in the shop. Only to ask why is my car pulled out in the front with the same tires I came in on...how long should I have waited after waiting 30 minutes to have my car brought back out anyways? If you knew how customers rely on their vehicles, and how time is very precious these days (you know cause I had to leave work early for this appointment) and knew anything about customer service, you would have figured out a solution right there and then. What now? You want to give me a standard reply instead of actually reaching out? Shows how much you care about customer service.

The prices on tires are competitive, and they are quicker than other local tire shops at getting your vehicle in for work, either by appointment, or the day of if you're willing to leave your vehicle for the day. I think the staff and mechanics are pretty good too, providing decent service. What I have been disappointed with is having twice ending up with tires that weren't what I was looking for or expecting; once a few years ago they advised and sold to me an oversized tire for my pickup as they didn't have the recommended size in stock (my truck differential made odd sounds with them on); and more recently when I went for an appointment to get new winter tires on my car and ended up with alternate lower quality tires than I'd ordered, as they sold off the tires they'd brought in especially for my appointment to another customer who showed up earlier that morning. As I had to drive in from a ways out of town and making another trip wasn't convenient I settled for the cheaper tires, which to their credit they knocked a few bucks off of in compensation when i asked. So, if you're going to do business here I'd advise you be prepared to stick to your guns about getting what you need or want and be prepared to walk if you don't.

Went in for a 35$ Inspection and they told me I'd need a new tie rod end, sway bar links, and Bumper clips? For 685$ before they can give me an inspection sticker. Upon picking it up I noticed a rattle noise that was not there before.. Took it to another mechanic and only needed a tie rod end. Nothing wrong with the links or my bumper. Only cost me $170 with the inspection. Never trust them guys, they are money hungry. And ALWAYS get a second opinion!

I wish I could give a 0 star, I went to this tire company with 2 tires to be changed. I was told to bring them in on Tuesday and they would be installed same day. No call on Thursday when I called them Thursday morning he told me that he didn't know where they were he thought they were put in storage and he would have to phone me back, bell was doing work along the highway that morning so from 1000am am to 9 pm so I called them at noon from a pay phone and they told me the tires are ready and that they tried to call me on Wednesday which is a lie because I had no voice mail and bell was not working on the lines until Thursday at 10. So finally my husband went to get my tires the next morning and the guy at the desk said he didn't know where they were. He waiting 20 minutes for the owner to arrive and comes in with a tray of coffees and starts talking to the guy at the desk. He finally goes back into the shop looks around for 5 minutes and come back into the show room kicks some tires on the floor and says those were our tires. Wow I thought I was doing them a favour by just bringing in the rims and no taking up a hoist spot! Bad customer service! Save your hard working money and go to Canadian tire, they have never been this incompetent!

I got OK Tire to do an inspection on my car, a 99 Ford F250 pickup, to make sure it's 'ok'. I asked the rep if they checked the spark plugs, he said no it's not necessary at all on an inspection. Two weeks later, my engine blew a spark plug out in the countryside, stripping the threads on the block head, while I was driving at 2500rpm. This is a manufacturers fault on these Fords and a common screw up, Ford says it only happens if the spark hasn't been properly installed at the right torque value. So it may be that this was from a pre-existing mistake in how the sparks had been installed. If I google, alot of consumers with varying degrees of mechanical expertise say it's bad design on Fords fault, this is also what the mechanic said who fixed it. According to a recent conversation with the manager (Joe) at OK tire, it was not possible for them to verify this problem when I'd had it inspected without possibly making it worse and turning a quick job into a several hour job. According to him, the threads can strip and the spark can break apart, part of it falling into the engine when taking it out and as such sparks should only be fiddled with if really necessary on these engines. A quick tightening of the sparks could make the problem worse too. So going with the assumption that the sparks hadn't been installed properly previously and/or the assumption that Ford's design isn't that great here and that there is no quick risk-free check that can be done around this issue, Ok tire did a good job on inspecting my car for potential issues though failed to warn me around this possible model specific problem, or provide possible solutions. As a non mechanic I have to make an assessment between different technical narratives, that of OK tire, the mechanic who fixed the spark plug issue, Ford and consumers online. Between all of this I am still not sure who is at fault. Either way, OK tire was able to point to faults in the brakes and after I requested a clarification, was able to point out what needed work soon and what could be low priority detail. I could see how differentiating between the importance of fixing slightly warped brake rotors and a leaking break valve would be hard for some consumers, and am glad I asked and was given a clarification. The manager, Joe, called me back to discuss these issue and was very professional and courteous around it.

Wonderful team! We had a number of issues with our vehicle within a couple months and the team at OK Tire gave top notch service whenever we brought the vehicle in. Super trustworthy and went above and beyond every time. When issues with our vehicle that were new to the the team arose (it's a hybrid), they took it in stride and sorted out how to get the job done. Let us use a company car for an extended time and let us store our car at the garage when we just couldn't drive it any more and then tirelessly looked for the right part to order in for our vehicle. Now we have the car back and she's running smoothly even with high km. Probably have quite a few more km on left on our Ford Escape than we originally thought. Out of four new tires on new wheels, all four of them leaked at the valve. After I took them back to have the work corrected they let me leave with wrong and wildly mismatched tire pressure, which is not just dumb, it's dangerous. After finding this out a couple of days after, I let one of their customer service staff know how upset I was. They said they would bring it up with the manager or owner. I haven't heard back since. Needless to say I won't be going back.

Apparently, the management of this OK Tires store has never heard of these basics of good business. All I wanted was a new valve stem for my spare. Despite my insistence this repair job needed to be done quickly as I require my car for work, these Jokers took more than 30 hours to replace a single bolt. And to top it all off, they left their dirty cardboard in my car for me to find after the work was complete, and left some minor damage to my control panel . Cannot begin to express my distaste.

They look for every opportunity to add onto your bill. I was quoted exorbitantly for a fix. Decided to go elsewhere and found that the car only needed a very cheap part, and not what they said it needed - which is an expensive part. Thank goodness I decided to go elsewhere. Car sorted now and working perfectly. Please live your creed 'built on honesty', and not deceive people that you are honest when you're not. Will not patronise them again. I'd rather buy a brand new car on credit, if there is no other mechanic here in Saint John to go to again.

Wonderful experience, we were in Nelson on Xmas holiday and our transmission stopped to work. Ok Tire was open during xmas holiday and on weekend. They were pretty busy and managed to find time for us. Very knowledgeable staff, they explained and showed us all the details of the issue. Even we had major issues on our car, thanks to OK Tire we managed to get safely back to Vancouver. We can only highly recommend OK tire. It was our best experience with car service so far

Told me my vehicle was going to be finished in an hour inna half. Came in then and they hadn't started. Told me to come back in another hour and that they'd call when the truck came in. No call was made. I called and they didnt answer. This was an hour and a half after they closed. Short guy at counter was rude and made it seem like I did something wrong coming in to get my truck 2 and a half hours after they said they'd be finished and still had to wait.

IF YOU HAVE NICE WHEELS STAY AWAY!!!! i have nice wheels on my truck I paid alot of money for them brought it there to get new tires put on and where the wheel weights go they took 40 grit sand paper to my wheel to get them to stick and took the finish off. I spoke to the owner and basically said we will just touch them up with can spray paint but that is how they do them all to get the weight to stick so be warned. what a joke I will never be back there

Awesome place! They managed to fit me in quickly knowing I was returning to Vancouver and even waited for me to drop off the van when they were just closing. Found other problems than just the one I went in to get fixed but absolutely no pressure to get them repaired. Their prices seem very fair and I felt they were an honest, small town experience. We encountered engine over heating towing a trailer over the mtn pass on hwy 3. We had to pull over on an incline with no cell service! It is here where we were introduced to a wonderful guy (or and angel, you decide) named Joe from OK Tire in Nelson, B.C. Joe said he saw us and turned around to come back and offer help. He advised us that we just had a bend in the road to where there was a pull out beside a lake. So we filled the rad with his and our water bottles and let the car cool down. Then we headed and made it to the pull out area. Not only did Joe stop to help us, he offered to pull our trailer to Vancouver the following Thursday seening that he was going there anyways AND he said if we could get the trailer towed to his shop in Nelson he would look the car over and the trailer. So that is what we did. The next day he replaced the coolant, as we had used lake water, he replaced the oil as we had a truck driver give us some truck oil to get us down the mtn but we didn't get far before the brakes overheated and had to be towed and he checked the brakes for us. Since he had to take if the tires off for this he even gave us the name of the next OK Tire where we could get the lug nuts re-tourqued. He even drove us to the insurance company to ensure he could even tow our trailer as it was plated in Ontario. This was reassuring to us as we didn't even think of that. When he pulled into Vancouver with our trailer a few days later, he told us the trailers break line had been broken which I had noticed a wire hanging down when we left it. He had fixed this and re-routed it so it wouldn't happen again. My husband and I cannot thank Joe and the friendly staff at OK Tire in Nelson enough for all of their help and service. He went above and beyond the call of duty and made the rest of our journey safe and enjoyable!! If we could give them 6 stars we would! Thank you Joe, we both feel you really saved our life out there! So many things could have gone wrong. Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Extremely happy customers. Last week I was going to leave for Edmonton from Nelson first thing in the morning. The evening before I went out to dinner in Nelson and heard a noise coming from my front left wheel. The wheel was very hot. Ceased caliper I assumed. It was after hours so l parked my truck at the Ford dealer. When I called the next morning Ford said they could not look at it for 2 weeks. I called 5 other repair shops with the same 2 week wait. When I called OK Tire the said they could probably look at it today but no promises. My best chance here so I dropped it off in the morning. They called me at 4:00 PM that same day to say it had been repaired. I was very happy with their service and would go there again. Thanks OK Tire.

My post about a bad attitude and poor service was queried by the management. To be fair it was as a result of a 16 year old experience. The only reason I posted anything at all was because I was in an adjacent business, and my phone thought I was at OK tire. That annoyed me, and I made a spontaneous post of a 16 year old experience. Well time goes on and a lot of water has passed under the bridge. That was years ago, and I am sure has nothing to do with today. I have since disabled that feature in my phone.

Booked an appointment for 9 am for mvi. Called at 11am to check progress. Went over at 2pm truck was still in the garage. I asked the status they said the mechanic was out on a test drive with another vehicle. Mechanic came back and said i had a leaky exhaust flange. Waste of a day and why bother setting up appointments. 45 min inspection appointment at 9am its 2:15 and still no truck. To be fair I was already having a bad day and the receptionist i spoke with was out that day. I should have reiterated the urgency when i dropped off the vehicle. They have always gone out of thier way to help me when emergencies arise and i reccomend them for good service

I did not have a good experience at this location and will not give okay tire business again. I was a repeat customer, I purchased new tires, went in with my vehicle with no problems, once finished i got in my Van and engine was on, I asked the manager and the mechanic wanted to say it was on, i assured them it was never on and my vehicle is serviced. The mechanic went back out and took my vehicle back to the garage, pulled away with disrespect of my property. Yesterday I brought my F150 in to have the exhaust manifold replaced as well as the thermostat for the cooling system. I had agreed on a set price after speaking with Jamie and the work was completed as agreed upon. I received a call from B.J. and told the vehicle was ready. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I spoke with the mechanic who had completed the work (Chris) who gave me a rundown on what took place. I was then presented the bill for the work completed and was advised that although I had agreed upon an amount exceeding the bill, they mechanic was able to get it done sooner and they were passing those savings on to me. It's things like this, not to mention the quality of the work that restore my faith in that there are still some very honest mechanics and shop owners around that are not out to gouge you and that you CAN trust. Nobody will be allowed to work on my vehicles other than this shop moving forward. Thanks again boys for a job well done!
