BUYER BEWARE! Questionable Service. Please Read. tl;dr; Quotes for parts and work are overpriced. Unfriendly service. My laptop fan needed replacement and having replaced them in the past I knew it would be an easy fix. I went into PC Trust and wasn't greeted. The worker, a guy named John, just looked at me with a sort of disgust on his face and didn't say anything until I said I needed a new fan. It was 30 minutes until close so maybe his disgust was out of annoyance, but that's just a guess. We looked at my laptop and he said he had the fan I needed. He then quoted me $75 to fix it. I asked him why the price was so high and explained to him that I am just a student and that his price seemed a little high for such an easy fix. He said the work would take him 3 hours and that the fan would be a used one from a computer he purchased from someone. He said he needed to take my CPU out and put new thermal paste in as well. I was unsure of the quote and I wanted to go home and check the prices online to see if they made sense. They didn't. There was a youtube video featuring the exact laptop I have during a fan and CPU thermal paste replacement and the video was 13 minutes long and no parts of the video were sped up. After learning all of this, I went back into PC Trust and asked John if I could just buy the fan instead so that I could do the repair myself. John did not like this idea. He got upset and said "No I will not sell you the fan. I will make no money from just selling the fan." I then tried to reason with him again, bringing up my low income and the fact that the quote he gave me was unreasonable in the first place. There was no way that the job would take 3 hours. John then said "If you want to do it yourself, go buy the fan on Amazon." At this point, John wanted nothing to do with me. I was polite with him the whole time so I did not understand why he needed to take the tones he took. Race might have something to do with it but it's not right to assume that. I said thank you to him for his time and walked out. The fan came to $15 dollars after shipping and arrived 3 days later. The paste is available at most electronic stores and I did the job myself in less than 30 minutes. If you do decide to go to PC Trust after reading this review, please, please don't let John con you into a ridiculously over-inflated price. I realize that there might be reviews for PC Trust where in people had good experiences, but how much did they overpay? If money is not an issue to you then go to PC Trust but you'll most likely be getting used parts that will need replacing again shortly after. Good luck!

My husband and I brought my Mac at this shop to be repaired. John said, the battery has to be changed. It took him two months to replace the battery since he needed to order the new battery somewhere. The battery replacement cost us 300 dollars. A month later, I thought the problem was fixed. Yesterday, after charging my laptop, I unplugged the charger and notice a very weird thing. My mac won't turn on anymore unless it's plugged to the outlet. As soon as it's plugged to the outlet, it automatically opens. Today, I found that my mac also remains at 99% even if I left it charge for a couple of hours. Does anyone here experience the same?I am very frustrated for paying $300 and this is what I got.

My sister bought a $300.00 laptop just over a year ago and John told told her she couldn't have a DVD driver and her told her she had a very good anti virus program. Well her laptop crashed last night and she also found out there was a place for a DVD driver so either he took it out and lied to her or got the laptop as is but she feels she was lied to. She will be going to the better business bureau and making a formal complaint. She has the persons name and the sales receipt. She feels as well I do she was taken advantage of because she is a woman and that is not right at all and should not be allowed. My sisters name is B. Slater.

Dirty thief. Brought my box in for an extra HD. Got the HD and the guy took my Kingston RAM and replaced it with some crazy sticks that do not even have a word of English on them. Shady, shady shop. BEWARE!

This store is selling RTX cards with insane markups for a legitimate retailer. These prices are what scalpers are selling these cards for. I will definitely not support a store that is exploiting the GPU shortages for profit.

Everytime I go into PC Trust I leave spending less than I planned, whether the visit was to buy something, or get something repaired. The service is very fast and reliable. John doesn't try to upsell. He sells good quality products for a good price. He is very knowledgable and solves issues quickly. Last time I was in he stayed half an hour past closing to fix my PC so I wouldn't need to come back the next day. I highly recommend PC Trust for anything computer related, be it buying/building a computer, or getting one repaired.

Brick and mortar PC shop scalping GPUs on kijiji. TRUST is the last thing I would associate with a small business like this. As for your response, everyone knows about the supply shortage. Are you saying your suppliers are charging you double MSRP? Where exactly did you purchase from? Feel free to call them out. Most retailers simply show regular pricing but remain out of stock. They're not selling limited cards for huge markups on kijiji. You seem to be unclear on what scalping is. Either you paid that much over MSRP and are reselling supply from scalpers or you paid near wholesale and are overcharging based on market conditions because you see an opportunity. It has everything to do with scalping.

Decent little shop. Been going to John now since I was in my early teens. He drives a hard bargain but his products are worth it. Picked up a 3060 for a decent value and traded in my 580 for it. He got all the drivers installed and put that bad boy in for free. It's been running really well and I look forward to coming back for future components and accessories.

This guy is essentially a scalper with a storefront. I called asking if he had any of the 3000 series cards in stock and he continued to ask how much I was willing to pay before telling me what he was selling them for at his store. When he did tell me what he'd sell them for, it was $500 more than what you'd pay to kijiji scalpers. Complete scammer and I wouldn't recommend buying anything here.

When I went to PC Trust to sell a Netbook, the owner told me it had been stolen. He quickly connected it to the hotel wi-fi upstairs and then claimed I had stolen it from upstairs. He told me he would still buy it but for cheaper because it was stolen. Since I bought it on Kijiji I took it to another shop across town called Wintronic Computers and they purchased the netbook from me for a reasonable price, they were really friendly too!

There are a lot of parts there old and new, I went in there the other day and got a few things like a 360 controller, displayport to DVI adapter, all were fairly priced and well under any other local store. Overall a great store if you do a lot of work on making or fixing PC's, but even if you're just working on your own PC, he'll more than likely have what you need.

The price that this store is selling graphics cards for atm is criminal. Literally asking upwards of 800 dollars more than new egg at the time of this review. They have also posted cards on kijiji for the same or more than the highest priced scalped cards. Nice way of building a local reputation by squeezing people for more money just because you can. 0/5 if I could give.

Long story short: I had to buy a new laptop because of the people at this store. A few months ago, I needed to replace the adapter for my laptop. They didn't carry the size I needed, so instead they sold me an adapter that came in three parts to make sure that it would fit my computer. I felt like it was shady in the first place, and then they sold me the adapter without giving me a box or a receipt. Shortly after, my computer stopped working. I thought perhaps it was the charger itself, so I went to get it checked out by a more legitimate store. I found out that one of the pieces of my new adapter was broken, that it was too many amps for my computer, and that the real problem was that my motherboard was dead -- likely the result of a power surge (caused by an adapter that wasn't suited to my computer). Now I have to buy a new laptop altogether. The employees at the store are uninformed or unethical or both. I actively discourage anyone from doing business with them.

So today i had to kill some time, and i found this store, i went in pretending to not know anything at all about computers and asked him how much it would cost me if i buy a watercooled system, i then pointed out the kraken x61. THE MAN SAID IT WOULD COST ME 800 DOLLARS! AND IT WAS AN OPEN BOX. LOL I WALKED OUT SO FAST.

I have been to the store quite a few times, either for purchase or repair. Based on my personal experience, it is probabaly the best store in Guelph for repairing computer. The owner is skilled in accurate diagnosis, and price is very reasonable. The owner works really hard. You can tell he cares about his service. Another unique thing about the store is it has quite a unique stock of parts and accessories. I can find the stuff that I can not find in big box stores.

Worst store yet. Attempted to buy some RAM for my computer. I looked online prior to entering the store. It was online for 39.99( on his website). He tries to sell it to me for $50 each and says he would give discount if I gave him my old ram. He then brings out a bundle of them, no cover with elastic bands around them and tries to tell me they are new. Additionally , I felt like I was being hustled by this guy and immediately walked out. Do not buy from here. Go to Best Buy.

Frustrated with my laptop (issues with screen display) for quite a while, got different diagnosis and quotes. The long waiting time made me even more frustrated. A friend recommended me to PCTRUST. My laptop was fixed the same day with acceptable price. Since then I have gone back a few times to deal with different issues and also updated the computers of my parents. The guy set up everything for my parents. Never disappointed.

This place doesn't function like a normal store. Tell John (the proprietor) what solution you're looking for and more often than not he can produce a gem, even if you can't find that weirdly miscellaneous piece on the shelves. For the stuff that is on the shelves, comparable with average prices but usually not the ebay special price. However, unlike Ebay if it doesn't work you can bring it back easily. PCI-E riser cables? In a ziplock bag he's had in a back room for three years. Wizard stuff, really. Very willing to work on your technical issues for money, and helpful if you ask him questions. Recommended store for those in the know and not. John loves to talk shop and show you his latest project if you have a moment to chat and any technical expertise.
