I would give 0 stars if possible. Knowing about the video card policy, I called in days earlier to ask if my video card can be paid for / picked up by another person (who has to take a 2 hour detour to go to this store). The store clerk said YES (and reminded me that it was an older/not so sought after video card). The day arrives and my friend tells me he is not allowed to pick it up. This is ridiculous as I purposely called ahead of time knowing the policy. It is NOT okay to mislead your customers into wasting people's time. If your clerk could have simply said NO, it would have sufficed.

The salesmen are clueless about much of the products they have. I purchased a monitor on boxing day that was defective. When i returned it i was informed that no returns were accepted until later that week. Being as it isn't my first time having this kind of issue with monitors, i was quite insulted when the young man at the support counter suggested i box it up and ship it off to the manufacturer myself "as they might send you a second one for free." That would literally never happen. Furthermore, i bought the monitor a day prior. He then informed me they no longer had stock at the gatineau location. To add to the insult, he further stated it may take several months for me to receive a replacement. Needless to say i was not impressed. I went online and saw they had stock at the ottawa downtown location and went there to get exchanged. The staff there was courteous and respectful and understood my issue. In summary the store is nice and i am glad we finally have a proper PC shop in town. The staff needs to be better informed about the products they sell and knowledgeable on RMA procedures.

it's the pandemic and they only offer curbside pickup but guess what? they do not ever answer their phone so what choice does the customer have? the customer can drive there get stopped by the police asked all kind of questions and when you arrive there the item that you want and was in stock it's gone because 20 other people are doing the same thing. How do they care for customers? How do they care for society? I wish this business disappears and it's getting dissolved by likes of Newegg and Amazon this is ridiculous. I called eight times in half an hour now, and not once the phone was picked up, despite them being open.

The items in stock counter is broken and they never ever answer the phone and this has been ongoing for years, after all these years they've never set up their phone system to allow you to wait on hold so you have to call back 57 times just to speak to someone if you're lucky. Staff was friendly and helpful (as it has always been at the 3 locations I visited so far). I had already found what I was looking for on their website prior to the visit, so I just asked for the items I needed and showed them the item code. They were able to find it and bring it to me quickly. The prices are very good. I I did walk around the store to check it out. TL:DR Just buy online and save yourself a headache. I was really looking forward to supporting local businesses. This store crushed those feelings. I went in with a shopping list of parts for 2 computers I'm building for work. Gave the list to the Employee who constantly suggested other parts, I said no, just what's on the list please. I was told they didn't have the grey case I wanted, only yellow or red, I said I'll take one of each. The red case he brought me wasn't the case I asked for. Got two yellows. They only had one motherboard I needed, so he suggested another board. So I said I'll take the one on my list and the suggested board. I needed to get back to work so I didn't verify everything on my shopping list. BIG mistake. I had misplaced trust in what I thought (at the time) was a competent employee. When I got back to work I realised I was only given 2 sticks of RAM, I had 8 on the shopping list. Went back to get the right amount of RAM. Came back to work to realise this RAM isn't on the compatibility list of the motherboard. I thought to myself "That's odd, I'm pretty sure I verified this?". Turns out they sold me the wrong board (I had the Z390 on the list and was given the Z370). So I figured I would verify the RAM I needed for the board they incorrectly sold me, and go back to the shop (again). After getting back to the office with the correct RAM, the computer wouldn't turn on. I thought to myself: "Wouldn't it be funny if the incorrect board they bought me didn't work?". So I bought a new board of Amazon and everything worked. At this point, it wasn't funny Went back (AGAIN!) to return the faulty board. Waited over 30 minutes to be told they wouldn't accept it because it didn't have the little black cap for the CPU pins. In total I spent over 3000$ on computer parts with plans on doubling or tripling this order for more computers throughout the year. Yet they refused to take a <200$ return. I guess it's back to online shopping for our business needs. What a let-down.

First off, the customer service is beyond; the employees go out of their way not only to help you, but to get to know you as a person. The owner of this store is always on the floor to check up on his customers and to have open conversations with them. This is the first experience I've seen in all my years of retail shopping where the boss is interactive to his clients. I came to purchase a laptop and the extra neccessitics needed, being unsure of what I should buy, I was taken very well care of! The employees are honest and do not want to dry you out of your own money, they are honest sales people. The store is clean and well taken care of. Most retail stores have opened boxes laid around, there's papers on the counters that are in a disorganized mess, it literally drives me up the wall. Not this place, it smells nice, everything is organized and bright! The employees are hardly seen lazing about doing nothing. In comparison to other retail stores, I'm constantly seeing staff on their cell phones, or worse; talking amongst each other in vulgar language. The employees here are all busy doing something, and if you are seen waiting about, they will personally come over and ask if you need help. I enjoy this very much. I apologize for anyone reading this as it seems like I've just written an essay more than a review, but please consider coming here. These people are experts, they're honest, you get what you pay, the store is clean, and the boss is kind! You leave the store feeling accomplished with your purchases. Poor service with salesman that have no knowledge of what they are selling. Got me to buy the wrong laptop and than charged me almost 400$ to return it. Was never told about the 10% fees of returning and the super all full 500$ warranty doesn't cover spills or breaks also not mentioned when buying. Was told buy store manger that it is written on my receipt... That they don't have to menton it. When asked how are we supposed to know before buying when it's not mentioned even when we ask about the topics. He said replied that it was not his issue and that it store policy. They sold me a 10 pds 17" gaming laptop and I'm not even 5 feet and need to carry that around at college... Battery life was poor basically all against what I asked. They had no demo to show me hence why I only found out all this after because they closed at 8 pm and it's was past and they were trying to go home I couldn't verify the product... A week later (today and 2 months after sending my controller in for repair), I called the store at different times, 4 times, to try to get information. It's frustrating because I still don't have an answer or the product I paid for. I don't appreciate after-sales service. The employees are nice on the other hand, when we speak to them directly in the store or when we manage to talk to them on the phone ... (I called a total of 12 times before I just let it go and come to the store.) Update: I went to the store and they finally gave / exchanged my controller. They said the supervisor tried to contact me, but no. I have only one number, which was well written on my repair receipt. I have a voicemail box, but received no messages or calls. I called while I was in the parking lot to see if the employees would answer me. There were no customers in line. They did not respond. When I asked them, they said "we are only 2 in stores" yes, but don't tell me you can't answer the phone 24/7. It's ridiculous. And they say not having a voicemail is the owner's or manager's decision. Apparently, there is no way to contact the owners / managers if you want to make a complaint. Je leur demande d'avoir plus de renseignements parce qu'ils ne sont toujours pas capable de me dire quand je recevrai ma manette. Ils disent qu'ils n'ont pas le temps de vérifier car ils sont 2 en magasins et que tous les autres employés sont en réunion. L'employé me propose de donner mes coordonnées pour qu'un superviseur me rappelle dans la journée. Je n'ai pas été surprise de ne pas reçevoir aucun appel. Une semaine plus tard (aujourd'hui et 2 mois après avoir envoyé ma manette en réparation), j'appelle en magasin à différentes heures, à 4 reprises, pour tenter d'avoir de l'information. C'est frustrant parce que je n'ai toujours pas de réponse, ni le produit pour lequel j'ai payé. Je n'apprécie pas le service après-vente. Les employés sont gentils par contre, quand on leur parle directement en magasin ou quand on arrive à leur parler au téléphone... Bref. (J'ai appelé un total de 12 fois avant de juste laisser faire et me présenter en magasin.) Update: Je me suis présentée en magasin et ils m'ont finalement donné/échangé ma manette. Les employés ont dit que le mieux était d'écrire un avis ici. C'est stupide parce que je sais que je n'aurai jamais de rétroaction. La faute ne revient pas exactement aux employés mais à l'organisation même qui semble se contre-ficher des clients après la vente d'un produit. -Better be well versed in computer if you want to have one built there. The staff would keep suggesting RAM that were not compatible with my build despite me providing them a list of possible compatible hardware. They were clearly more interested in selling what was in store than something to get the most of my machine. -When ordering backorder items, instead of notifying you when all the items are at the store and your order is complete, they send a separate email for each individual item upon arrival to the store but the email doesn't specify which item has made arrived. It's just a generic 'pick up your item within 3 days or your order is canceled'. If to want to know if all's good for pick you have to call... which brings to the following point. -No voicemail. If no employee are near the phones be prepared to call over and over for up to 30 min. -They have an email address but don't actually respond to anyone sending a query through there. -When they build my computer they forgot to install half the ram I had bought. I had to go back to get them to do it. When I called a week later they had still not done it. Apparently my computer had been put at the back of the line. When I voiced my displeasure at this state of affairs they rushed the job installing the RAM without doing the proper stability check I had paid for. The lady also hung up the phone on me. -Apparently even if you place an $6000+ order its not enough to get good service.

I went to the Canada Computers today in Gatineau, Quebec to return a PC cooler which I had not needed since the computer repair shop where I got my PC built, sold me one at a better price. From the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left. I kid you not, in my 30 years on this earth, I have never been treated so rudely for absolutely no reason. Cory, the employee's name, to my surprise when I saw his tag, it said supervisor. What upsets me so much is that I bought two prebuilt PC's at Canada Computer's and whenever I need something tech related, it's my go to spot. When I came in, I stood at the cashier on because I had not seen the line for returns on the other side at first. I then switched and waiting on Cory to come serve me. As soon as he got behind his counter, he blatantly says in French, what do you need? Instead of how may I help you? In the most rude tone. I then asked if I could return both the PC cooler and the thermal paste that I bought because upon my initial purchase with the cashier Alexander, I was never told a cooler included thermal paste. He rudely told me no, then proceeded to tell me the cooler was final sale, assuming I had opened the box which I very clearly had not. He opened the box, inspected everything, all while not saying a single word to me. His next words were, what are the last 4 digits of the credit card you purchased this with? So I told him . Since he clearly didn't believe me for whatever reason, he said let me see. He refunded me the cooler, said absolutely nothing else about the thermal paste without even explaining to me the reason why it could not be returned and I didn't even get a thank you or goodbye, he just handed me my proof of refund. I cannot repeat this enough, 30 years old, i've never had such a rude employee for absolutely no reason at all. From start to finish, it really ruined my day to be treated like garbage because I was returning a product. Canada computers will no longer have my service after this. Edit: Since I wrote this review, I made a complaint to corporate Canada computers. The store manager claims that everything I wrote here was made up. This is not consistent with previous reviews from other people that claim the manager is rude and employees do not advise customers of the return policy. Please please go to Canada computers in Ottawa. They're extremely friendly and professional.

J'essais un autre ssd d'une marque differente et ça fonctionne super bien, aucun probleme. Une fois arrivé au magasin je parle avec le gerant et il me dit que je dois payer 50$ pour faire effectuer un diagnostique et que le probleme n'est pas le disque dur mais bien mon ordi. Meme si je lui ai expliqué que j'etais capable d'installer windows sur un autre marque de ssd que celui-ci. Bref il ne veut pas me rembourser et il me dit que c'est la politique du magasin etc etc. Je suis donc aller a Ottawa et il me l'on remboursé sans meme me poser de question. Meme que a ottawa, ils ne comprennent pas pourquoi ils ne voulaient pas me rembourser et que c'etait ''silly'' de leur part. Je ne recommande a personne d'acheter quoi que ce soit au Canada Computer de Gatineau a moins qu'ils aiment ça se faire avoir. Je recommende fortement le magasin Canada Computer downtown Ottawa, service a la clientele IMPECABLE !!!

Drove 40 minutes to get a white Mid tower case the inventory system said was in stock, turns out to be the black one with tinted glass, they know it's wrong in the system but won't fix it. Wasted an hour and a half of time and a bunch of gas.

The workers at this place don't know what they are doing or selling. They don't have any real computer knowledge; they are there to simply sell items and give vague answers to basic questions. One guy has a deer in the headlights stare when asked to give a simple opinion on what pc component to buy or what this part or that part can or can't do for a rig. This store employs people that can't answer any mildly advanced questions. One guy's answer to a question I had about an item was to just read the back of the package and repeat what was written. The customer has to treat this place like a warehouse. If you know what you're looking for and why then just buy the item and leave. Don't ask questions.

needed parts to connect my new tv to my old combo vcr/dvd player. Had no idea what I needed, went in to the store explained my problem. the lady at the counter was excellent, told me exactly what I needed and how to connect it all. I was very inpressed, told the manager how great she was. a few weeks later went back in to get some cables for another piece of equipment. Same manger saw me and recognized me, asked what I was looking for, and explained the cable I needed. Took me around the store to show me the various items they have as I had no clue just how much electronics / computers they have. People are great here.
