Cindy was very helpful when I took my MacAir in - it had shut down and wouldn't open. She was super quick, had a lot of knowledge, and in a short time had helped me to determine my next steps with that computer based on my needs. I can see they are so busy and in demand. I see someone wrote about the diagnostic fee; however, I thought that time with Cindy was sooooo worth it. Saved me hundreds of dollars in time since I felt I could truly trust her opinion. You know that old story - iphone drops into a sink full of water. The MacPros took it apart and put it in their drying machine and saved its life. A day later and it is like new. Oh and they also do a great job of transferring the data from my old macbook every year when I get a new machine. I don't know what I would do if I had to re enter every password I need.

Macpros is a good place to go if you are wanting honest good laptop service. In my case, they went above and beyond and did not charge me for initial liquid cleaning charges because the rest of the repair involved replacing parts that were far more expensive. In the end, I knew that they put in far more work and time then I had paid them. Overall, it was kind of them to sympathize for the cost and I am happy with the fix.

Absolutely fantastic service, did everything possible and were 100% transparent through the whole process and are great at explaining what is happening, even to someone with no knowledge on the subject. My two year old MacBook Pro would simply shut down after every use on its own and ReStart Computer Inc. diagnosed the problem as a hardware issue with an estimated $1200 price tag. I went to The MacPros and they fixed what was a software problem for $160. They were friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. Two lessons: seek out a second opinion or go to The MacPros in the first place.

These guys are truly a pleasure to deal with. I had my macpro with them and they unfortunately couldnt fix it due to apples strict rules. They helped me extract files off my mac and save my homework for school and once i got home i opened up my mac and to my surprise they replaced a key that went missing...free of charge! Truly amazing service, friendly and knowledgable staff...thanks again guys!!!!!!!!!

I came here after my macbook was infected with viruses. Macpro was super helpful. I was prepared for a full clean out and reset of my OS but they told me that wasn't necessary and fixed it while I waited at no cost! Thanks guys. Honest service is hard to find. Damaged my laptop by spilling coffee on it!! The Macpros were able to save my work laptop and had it up and running under a week. They explained the process and timeframe it woud take and the price to expect. In the end the price was reasonable and for the damage i was surprised they were able to get it up and running. Not that i want to see them again, but if I do, i will know im going to the right people.

I was very happy with the service. My computer had serious liquid damage (whoops, maybe don't place large glasses of water next to your computer) and they managed to salvage it and it works great now. They said it would take a week but it just took a few days. The technician was awesome, explained everything to me clearly and made his best effort to get cheaper parts. There is a diagnostic fee which you pay regardless of whether they have to do repairs, however if they do repairs then it becomes a credit toward your final bill. Highly recommend this place, I think the prices are fair.

I'm not someone who understands computers, but my trackpad wasn't working and things had started getting really slow on my MacBook Pro. A friend recommended a friend who "fixes computers" and I shelled out way too much and only got half of the problem solved with a recommendation to buy a new laptop. A new laptop was not in the budget, but I need it for work, so in my last attempt at saving my existing laptop I called The Mac Pros. Their name made me think they probably knew more than my friend's friend. I brought it in and they kindly helped me understand what was actually wrong with it. Not only did they fix it in record time, but for much less than I thought it would cost and I left with a perfectly working track pad, a faster computer and they told me my Mac was actually awesome now with the fixes and there was no need to buy a new laptop. I can't believe how fast it's operating right now and the trackpad works perfectly! They made my day! I highly recommend their services and will only be going to them for mac services from now on.

Poor customer service, and a little helpless! I recently opened a retail business in Victoria, and contacted the Mac Pros to support me with the POS system I chose. It seemed easy enough to get the paper work going (about a month and a half before opening day of my business) but the delivery of my hard and software was disappointing. Only 24h hours before the grand opening did they managed to organize the items I had purchased. After voicing my disappointment third parties were blamed (not helpful, and very annoying!). Jay did put a lot of effort into setting everything up as best as we could given the little time we had, but it was clear that most of the work still had to be done after opening the store. Once I payed the full invoice, it was incredibly hard to reach the guy I was working with. Text messages, emails and calls were not answered, and only days later did we receive his replies. We were told that simple requests such as "changing the currency in the system" would not be possible. Together with Light Speed's customer service my staff and I solved the problem within 3 minutes! (This is only one example of misinformation by the Mac Pros.) I am sure the Mac Pros are know a lot about Macs, Iphones, etc. but when it comes to customizing their service to ones special needs, they seem pretty helpless, and rather than finding out and possibly asking for advice, they simply tell you it is not possible. LightSpeed is a great POS system, but if I had to do it again, I would purchase it along with all the hardware one requires online. LightSpeed's customer service hotline is great. The operators are helpful, friendly and patient, and it is free of charge (Mac Pros charge $100/hour).

Being a Windows guy for the last 20 years, I acquired a free vintage Mac Pro 2,1 with no hard drive or software to boot. and thought what better place to get info than a Mac store. Walked into The MacPros and the person behind the desk was busy with a customer. I was asked if I could be helped ..and I proceeded with my first time Mac story and was a hands on kind of guy myself and was wondering how to install an operating stsyem..and which one? I was immediately discouraged with a response from the front desk, that it was old, outdated, they didn't have any software, or hardware, that I was in the wrong place for it, and your best to buy off eBay or Amazon for an OS. I mentioned I had no experience and just wanted a couple tips to get me going, and they quoted me an hourly shop rate, and that to give me any more info was taking away their "bread & butter." On top of that, and obviously no fault of the store, the customer chimed in: "Looks like ya got yerself a doorstop." So with very little info to work with I walked towards the exit, turned around and smiled athe front desk and customer and said "Thats not gonna happen." And I walked out. Never ever going back there again being treated like only a cash cow. I'd love to bring my MacPro in for them showing them all the upgrades I did to it myself, through diligent research and a bit of sweat...and about $100 in hardware upgrades, but what would that prove to the Mac Pros? Nothing because they do not care. Not recommended for professionals in this place, but hillbillies, go for it. They're your type over there.

I had my 2013 i-mac upgraded by Jay at The Mac Pros with a new ssd hard-drive because it was getting really really slow. Jay was very professional and I felt like he really cared about me being happy with the work he did for me. He took the time to talk with me in advance to make sure he knew exactly what I needed, and answered all of my questions. Jay and Cindy are the BEST!! Had several issues at the same time. First was my wife's new laptop. There was an issue with the email. She spent weeks going back and forth between Shaw and Apple Care to resolve the issue. Zero luck. I brought it in to MacPro's and Cindy had the issue fixed in about 3 minutes!! I had an issue with my RAID hard drive storage. Jay diagnosed the problem quickly, and Cindy was a tremendous in dealing with the manufacturer, in getting a replacement. I could not be happier with these two and their customer service, it also doesn't hurt that they are experts in their field. They are now my go to two!!

I can't recommend The MacPros highly enough! Our Mac mini developed problems and would freeze unexpectedly. A phonecall to MacPro isolated a test I could easily do myself. I reported that the mini failed the test, so I took it in for service on Friday. On Tuesday morning I got a call that it was ready -- tested, an upgrade to the operating system installed, and (as a bonus) a used Apple mouse and keyboard at a bargain price. The total price was less than expected. This business is a valuable part of Victoria's computer world for individuals without resources like us -- long may it prosper!

I had no idea what I was in for !! I was more broken than my macbook ? I emailed MacPros and they emailed me right away and I just walked in to dear knows what !! Cindy the owner made me feel so comfortable and Not At All As Dumb as I felt, I am not computer literate ! She just plugged in my iPod and laptop, a few questions and few hints and I was all fixed :) No charge but for what she did needed to give her a little something, she got me back online !!! Exceptional Service. I took my MacBook air to Cindy and the MacPro's to see if they could get my computer running again after some liquid damage. They performed a cleaning and battery replacement (at a fair price) and my mac was up and running again. The battery started acting up a few days later (going into low power mode/turning off around 50 % charge). When I brought the computer back I was worried about the additional costs that would come along with troubleshooting the new problem or any replacements (I am a broke student and the first initial fix took a toll on my wallet). Cindy was more than accommodating, and had my machine up and running for me that day, at no additional charge for their service even though it gave them grief all day. If your looking for honest and genuine service, the MacPro's have you covered!

Been waiting for months to hear back on an issue with an ipod. Have had to call in every 2 weeks to get an update, to hear them say "still trying, we should get the part in next week". Its been 4 months. Very unprofessional approach. If you cant do something then inform the customer up front so that they can make other arrangements. Above and beyond service. I recently took my iMac 5k i7 late 2014 into the shop to replace my fusion drive with a new ssd in the hopes of extending the life of this machine a little longer for work. Upon opening up my machine Jay and his team were very careful and noticed that my fan had broke and was needing to be replace. They did so with ease! But with replacing my fan, they unfortunately noticed something else that went wrong. Some of my resistors had over heated and blown. Not only is this a very timely process but Jay worked incredibly hard and stayed late after business hours to make sure my machine was up and running. I can't say how grateful I am to have such a caring shop in Victoria. I will 100% recommend. They took the time to care and made sure my machine is running at 100%.
