This Computer Repair is included in the category of Used computer store.
Really awesome, quick customer service. Will definitely recommend to friends for computer repair stuff in the future.
Gary helped my wife with a used laptop today and installed a new hard drive for a reasonable price, she was on her way in half an hour!
Shady
Great place to pick up used/refurb stuff. I've purchased a number of refurbished laptops and PCs that did the job just fine. Definitely worth a look!
Knowledgeable people with great manners and service. Very good place to shop.
Edited. Left beer at the store. Your turn.
Has what I need for work at a price that is more than reasonable!
I love this little shop for several reasons, 1) I always get consistent advice and honest service, 2) I never know what gems might be in there! 3) The downtown location has free indoor parking across the street.
This company will sell you something with smiles, and then not support their sale.
Love these friendly people keeping electronics in circulation longer! My hard drive died and they had me operating in less than 24hrs :)
Great shop Great guys Picked up a great one only deal Great prices Great services Telling all my friends who need hardware and advice About Gary and the guys here
Good quick place for picking up packages
The only reason I entered here was to pick up my boyfriend's Purolator packages that somehow got deferred to here. I don't care for their short operation hours that delays the parcel pickup.
I couldn't get into my computer after a Microsoft update. Could not log on, was asking for email address, which was not being accepted and it would just run and run. Still could not get into the computer. These guys fixed it.
Terrible service, will never go back. Funny story tho, so I have to tell it (it was a few month's ago now but such an incredible experience), I just hope the man, Gary, who I dealt with, was just having a bad day, otherwise.... ouch. Soooo, I brought in my laptop pretty sure that the problem was the power supply - that the power cord needed replacement. I had had the same problem already before, it was not charging unless you fiddled with the chord and it was placed just right for it to charge the battery. Gary had his tech guy in the back check it, and returned minutes later saying 'no its not the power supply its the port'. I was pretty sure it was the power supply so I was like 'I am pretty sure its the power supply, it's a universal adapter, can you just plug it in here and show me?" I could already sense his frustration as he condescendingly informed me his tech had just checked it. "What you think my tech guy doesn't know what he is doing?" he said. "No, no, I am just quite sure that that is the problem, could you just show me here quickly so I can know for sure that the port is the problem." He sighed angrily while he plugged in my laptop, which showed no signs of charging up. "See?" he huffed. I looked at him in astonishment - he was demonstrating using my own power adapter - the problematic chord that I had brought in with me, hoping to replace. "But," my speech stumbled a bit in my amazement, "but, but you're,... you're using my chord, the one I think is faulty and needs replacement. His frustration seemed to visibly transform from impatience to anger. He grabbed one of his own adapters and plugged it into the port of my laptop, wiggling it a bit, demonstrating it's play, "see? there is some give here in the port, it's not the power supply, it is the port!" My mouth was now agape as I watched this display, there was indeed some give, but he had only plugged the adapter tip in to the port - the tip was not connected to a power chord, let alone plugged into a wall outlet. "But,...but," I was dumbfounded, "it's not even plugged in to a power source," I managed to say through my stunned confusion." Things got a little heated at this point. He said something like "You think you know more than me or my tech guy, this is my store, you think I don't know what the problem is?". "No, no that's not it," i said, quite stupefied, "I just wanted to confirm that the power supply was not the problem - to show me with a working power chord, plugged in to a power source, that the laptop would not charge, so that I could be sure the chord was not the problem, something you have yet to show me..." At this point, with his anger and impatience, and my dumbfounded astonishment, some words were exchanged. I forget exactly but it ended with a "get the f@#$ out of my store", bellowing now. I said something like "gladly, and I'll be writing up a google review," and he said "and I look forward to responding to your review." With that, I left the store, consulted google maps for the next nearest computer shop, which was just a block and a half away. I walked over and entered the store still in a daze from my previous encounter. The owner of the second shop was very helpful when I asked if he could just please check (and show me) with a plugged in working power chord whether it will charge my laptop? "It's a universal port'" I added helpfully. "Sure," he said and dug one up within a minute, plugged it into the wall (Importantly) and then into my laptop. The charging light indicator turned on immediately. "Ya," he said, looks like the problem is a faulty power adapter." So I purchased a new one and, with the problem solved, went home with a laptop again fully functioning. I nearly dropped back into to Tesseract to tell Gary as I passed by his store again but I was still a bit shaken from the experience, so I left it alone. We all have bad days, I am sure he was just having one. But now my customer loyalty lies elsewhere.
Service & value were outstanding; I picked up a great desktop for <$300- including a one year warranty. I will definately shop here again.
I love it that when I need something, Gary knows exactly what will solve my problem. He’s got a great sense of humour too. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes with exactly what I needed! Thanks Gary. You made it a pleasure.
GREAT value and knowledge of computers. Fair and better pricing!
I've been a customer of Tesseract 2.0 since they've opened. I have always received excellent, honest and trustworthy service. I tell Gary what I need the laptop for and he finds a suitable laptop within my budget. He's ensured the computer specs fit my son's gaming needs by looking up the gaming platform specs. Whenever I've needed repairs Alec has been clear about what the problem is and honest about whether it's worth fixing. I strongly recommend Tesseract 2.0 to anyone needing a computer or computer repairs.
I've slowly bought all the computers in my office from here, they are great to deal with and very knowledgeable. They also have sent their technician to my office to repair complicated network issues and charged me a fraction of what I was quoted elsewhere. Highly recommend dealing with these guys.
Was just here to pick my package. Very Rude staff. Just asked incase they have have change for a $20 bill, that staff said, "we are not a bank". So smart he thought he is. Keeping in mind when we come to pick up packages, we see your store and your service.
Friendly and personable, these guys know their stuff and work WITH you as a business should.
Brought in my old acer laptop that was having crazy problems- the owner, Gary, took care of it and kept me updated all the way through. I ended up having to buy a new laptop, and Gary guided me through picking the best PC to fit my needs. He really knew his stuff, and was the definition of humour and good customer service. Hopefully won't need work done on my computer any time soon, but I'll certainly be coming back next time I do.
Ok, guys - don't go anywhere else with your computer problems! This place was amazing! Friendly and compassionate, they solved my issue within 2 hours at an extremely reasonable cost. Really, the best. Thank you!
Gary was very easy to work with and directed me towards a purchase that I am very pleased with. He knew that I was familiar with computer terminology and had an answer for every single one of my questions. The Russian man there may be a little too blunt for some, so maybe just stick with Gary ????
Bought used laptop, worked fine for a few months. Issues with the touchpad but I was made aware of this before buying. After those few months, randomly the drive gets corrupted or something and stops working and only boots to blue screen. There was NO recovery partition so I couldn't factory reset. No way to reinstall windows. I installed linux from my USB, and everything now works fine. (no more issues with the touchpad either.) When I don't get a windows CD, I expect a recovery partition in case something like this happens, but I guess the actual laptop works fine so... Not sure I would buy from there again though. EDIT: In response to the response, it was a Lenovo T420. I do not think I should have to pay extra for a recovery CD. I also think perhaps the installation of windows was corrupt from the start considering the touchpad works fine now in Linux but had issues in Windows. The blue screen may have been in part due to an update, but when it happened the laptop was on and I went to another room for a bit then came back to the blue screen. I do not think it updated while I was out of the room but who knows.
Exceptionally helpful, quick and supportive in finding a solution for me. Dropped my computer, power button jammed, and they helped me find a way to remove my hard drive to use on another computer during my finals week in school. Also educated me on further solutions to find a part for my computer in the near future. So many thanks yous!
Simple and effective
A while back they sold me a used computer. They even did some extra work on it to make it right =) I just recently re-sold it after 2 years of use. Hey you guys order me some mouse pads k.
I am super impressed with everything when I bought a used PC from Tesseract. First of all, the machine was a great price and even better than they had advertised. They also included a bunch of software they thought their customers would find convenient. Definitely five stars!
Reliable friendly service.
Extremely rude customer service. Stopped by with my laptop for a simple question and the front counter staff were incredibly condescending in their response. Awful
Great guys to deal with. Helped me sort out and upgrade an older but still relevant PC. Works great now for way less than new. Thanks...
I have always found them knowledgeable and capable of solving my problems.
Amazing service here. Their staff help me solve a difficult problem with an ancient macbook, on the spot, spending over 30mins with me, after which they charged me a super fair fee. In the process they were friendly and fun. Couldn't be more pleased.
I recently purchased my second used computer from Tesseract 2.0. I was impressed by the selection of business class laptops and great competitive prices. I also really appreciated the manufacturer specific bloatware was removed. They also added light weight applications that add functionality and security to the system without compromising system resources. Will always recommend. I'm sure my used laptop would outperform and outlast a new model at the same price range.
Great customer service!
Super expérience que je n oublierai jamais. Merci pour votre excellent service Thank you so much for everything. You made my day in fact. There are still very good people....
Tesseract was very kind to donate a refurbished computer to me and my son. We truly thank them for their kindness.
RUDE, not friendly, extremely disappointed
Great experience all round. I recently visited Tesseract Computers with a blind friend of mine to buy a refurbished laptop. She thought the motherboard on her existing one was dead but on further investigation by Alex, it was determined that a new battery was all that was needed. My friend had been to 2 other computer stores and had been told that the battery was fine. As you can imagine, she was highly delighted to have her computer back and functioning the same day. Gary was professional and respectful and genuinely wanted to help my friend. We were both extremely impressed with the level of service.
Pretty much exactly like buying used electronics off marketplace. They know nothing of where it came from(previous use), or battery life left, any hidden flaws etc. Just used computer jargon to comfuse you and seem knowledgable.
The value here one my first visit was incredible!! Gary did the required surgery to my computer. Way worth the trips downtown. One hour free parking at the parkade especially from the Courteny St. side, then walk through the center of it to Broughton. It's a rare business like this where you can save hundreds of dollars per year, and thousands of dollars over the years.
Staff is always friendly, very knowledgeable computer ninjas. They're now a Purolator pickup location, and they've been great to deal with when picking up my Amazon parcels!!
Great understanding staff for a guy who knows not much about computers, thanks Gary!!
Good.
Great staff and service, price was good, I'm very happy.
Fantastic service. Gary and Kiki at Tesseract went the extra mile for me. They tried to fix my old laptop, but it was beyond help. I bought an inexpensive laptop from them, they didn't charge for the repair and went the extra mile to set up my new laptop. Treated like a high end customer. Great service!
Bought an expensive (for me) used computer here and the hard drive died after two months. It appeared that the computer was originally Russian and had been refurbished. The warranty had just expired so I was offered a new hard drive for an extra $100. I could have bought a very nice new computer for the total price. I was not happy with the service and have happily taken my business elsewhere.
Great computer and PC buying place. My friend bought a PC for about $1000 and has Served him well!
Came in with three old laptops that all needed a different outcome. Received great help with all devices and overall a great service. They also refurbish and donate machines.
The only place in downtown core for professional computer service and deals on laptops and PCs.
Friendly quick efficient and offered good suggestion
Always amazing. Realistically the best stop in Victoria for your computing needs.
Fantastic Service Dropped in to Tesseract 2.0 after my hard drive had gone kaput. Gary and Alec(sp?) were extremely helpful, funny and positive. Provided me with multiple solutions to fix my computer (replacing hard drive, turning in old laptop for store credit). Would recommend to anyone! Trustworthy and knowledgeable. Thanks again! Kirk
