I came to Ron with a failing hard drive in my very old desktop PC and my old laptop. I left with all of my files intact in my now shiney newly upgraded laptop. He upgraded the ram and put in a new 250GB SSD drive. Now I have all my files backed up on an external drive as well. I can't thank you enough Ron. You made my day, week, month and year. I love using my laptop now as its twice as fast. Go see Ron. He knows what he's talking about and has amazing customer service and excellent prices. You won't be disappointed. Thanks Again Ron!

Came here awhile back, an older gentleman told me because of the length of my forgotten password i would have to reset my whole computer because there weren't any programs that could get past a password so long due to something about encryption and the number of bits and how no program he knew of would be able to unlock it. Told me I'd have to pay 100$+ for a new OS and gave me one or two options. Brought it to Gizmos and they unlocked it in under a minute for a 15$ service fee. EDIT: to reply to the owners response, if you tell me my best option is to pay you 100$+ and loose all my data when someone else can put in a CD and have it fixed instantly you should at least know what your talking about before telling me paying you for a reset is my best option, it was dishonest and you almost cost me years of photos and saved data.

The other day my laptop encountered a fatal boot error. Conveniently, this is the laptop which contains all my important university assignments and projects. Despite trying every solution posted online, nothing seemed to work. After talking to Dell tech support, I learned that the only way to repair my computer was to wipe the hard drive and re-install windows, which they proposed I pay them $400 to do. Before buying a new computer altogether, I went to Face-to-Face after reading the Google reviews. It's safe to say that Ron saved me hundreds of dollars: He reassured me my data was safe, and within 24 hours he'd placed my hard drive in an external enclosure, installed a new SSD in my laptop with a clean install of Windows 10, and fixed my broken touchpad. I transferred my data and all's good. Ron was friendly and incredibly easy to deal with. The fee he charged was totally reasonable. Overall 5/5 star service, he's my #1 choice for tech support.

He quickly was able to suggest what he believed to be the issue and thoroughly explained what my options might be once he had completed his testing. Due to work requirements, I had to ask if he could expedite the repair and he certainly did that. He called me before the day was out with details of the issue and a suggested course of action. On a family friend's recommendation, I went here for a new gaming desktop. I had a clear idea of what I wanted the system to be able to do, but no expertise in hardware; Ron was professional, straightforward, and clear. There was no effort to sell me anything I didn't need— in fact he helped me avoid unnecessary spending on RAM that I can always install later if need be (I was going for a mid-range rig, nothing graphics-intensive or rendering-heavy so extra RAM would have been redundant. I wouldn't have known this and would happily have overspent on an extra 32G of RAM if he hadn't pointed it out.) I got the clear impression that building a good computer was more important to Ron than upselling unnecessary bells and whistles. An easy-to-like business model: 10/10, would purchase here again.

Hard disk failed on Lenovo Thinkpad. Ron replaced hard disk with an SSD and found that some of my data was still readable on the defective drive. He mounted the old drive in a portable external enclosure and advised on how to make recovery much easier. Added later: My Thinkpad is now much faster - boots up in seconds!! I did some follow-up research on the brand & model of SSD that Ron installed. It is made by Crucial, has best ratings and includes advanced backup and restore software as well as other utility software

I have been struggling for years with networking my home computers and setting up a system for archiving family photos and videos. Ron quickly understood exactly what I needed. I had some vague ideas about a NAS, but Ron had the expertise to select the best option. Having Ron come to my home to set it all up was outstanding. Ron identified my network problem and explained it all very clearly. A couple of days after the install, I had an error message. I emailed Ron on Sunday evening expecting a reply in a day or two. I visited Ron at Face-to-Face computers with an old Windows 7 computer. My complaints were that the computer was running slow and I could not install some programs in it. I am 81 and not as computer savvy as I might be. Ron made suggestions and I agreed he should wipe the hard drive clean and re-install Windows. He advise me how to back up. I had many audio files and he cleared a space in another drive for me to place them there. He could not go back to a restore point because my backup was limited. He reinstalled windows and reset the backup for me. There were drives missing in Windows and he managed to find them. He did Windows security and service pack updates. He installed Windows Live Mail, setup the account and imported my messages and contacts. (He checked the little bit of work I did in backing up Windows Live Mail and found I deleted a file I should not have! He make a joke of it.) Her downloaded and re-installed Bit defender for me with good grace when I could not see how to do it myself. When I had a defective disk with drivers for my Canon printer, he walked me though how to download the drivers from Canon and told me how to install them. This was a difficulty task, but Ron was all patience. Part way through this repair, I asked him to swap out my DVD player for a new one. I am embarrassed to report the number of times I called on Ron through this repair. He was unflappable and showed me endless courtesy. He has my highest recommendation. Roland Graham, Victoria, B.C.
